Me encantó mi estadìa de tres noches, en especial el trato amable del staff. La comida en el buffet siempre estuvo deliciosa. Cenamos un Tequila, restaurante mexicano, estuvo bien, aunque preferimos el buffet por la variedad de opciones. La playa tuvo sargazo todo el tiempo, aunque la limpiaban diariamente, era demasiado. Las piscinas limpias y el entretenimiento excelente. La discoteca me sorprendió que ya no es gratis, tiene un costo. El hotel ha sido remodelado y en general està muy hermoso. Por comprar a travès de Expedia, tuve early check in, upgrade en la habitación (cerca de la piscina, buffet y snack bar) y tambièn late check out.

Lo que no me gusto y podrian mejorar con el sargazo es que incluyan un equipo con mas maquinaria y trailas para moverlo mas rapido ya que es demasiado sargazo y no se dan abasto.

Some members of the staff are very rude and very unhelpful. It looks like the rules are being changed from day to night. One day they open the Game Center at 9 am near the pool and the next day they opened at 10 am. They dont want to assist you or give you any clear directions. Go to another place.

We stayed at Bahia Principe/Esmeralda. $350 to “upgrade” our room was an absolute nightmare after 12-hrs of traveling with kids since check in took twice as long and went from a 2-bed room to a 1-bed room. The dinner reservations cleared out too so we were not able to try the steakhouse. Workers in the spa were arguing among themselves before entering our couples massage. Most of the hotel and restaurant staff was rude and need customer service training. The app glitches A LOT and not enough room service food options. You can’t request fresh towels to the room until after 9am! Noise level after 9 is too high considering this is a family resort. The sales people that try to sell you the timeshare hunt you down if they see you pass by in the lobby. Food was ok, nothing amazing. The beach and weather are beautiful but overall did not enjoy our time for the amount of money we spent on this vacation. Will not return to Bahia Principe.

El personal del bufet poco agradable. En las barras tampoco fueron amables. Las actividades aburridas. El personal que guía los trolly malcriados y aborrecidos al igual que el personal del área de la isla. En el restaurante mexicano de lo peor el trato. En resumidas cuentas personal desagradable, sin amabilidad.
El cuarto tenía olor raro. No lo recomiendo, ni volvería a visitar

This is an excellent hotel for families, couples etc. There is always something to do . Take full advantage of the restaurants and amenities. We got a room upgrade for using EXPEDIA. So, I highly recommend to use EXPEDIA for booking . There is absolutely no complains about this property, beach at 3 minutes walk and pool at 1 minute. They have a transportation service all day up to 4am. All you need to do is to wait for the bus . The stuff is always smiling and wanted to help you out.

Some of the stuff were amazing, such as the entertainment, the waitress/waiters. Rooms were perfect. Drivers that pick us up at the lobby to take us to our room were nice but also rude. One of the drivers were drunk and took my parents to a different side of the hotel when they gave him the actual room number. overall the resort was great! Julio, Jefry, David and Nuris were AMAZING AND SUCH KIND SOULS. I love how sweet they were with my parents and just treated them right! that was the best staff i have ever met!

Very disappointing experience. English is barely spoken by many staff members, making communication difficult. When you request something, staff often say they will provide it, but it never arrives. The food is very repetitive with little variety, and the buffet is overcrowded. Finding clean tables and plates can be a challenge, and long lines are common. The resort advertises five restaurants, but non-members only receive two reservations. If you want to dine there again, you are encouraged to purchase a membership. There are salespeople throughout the resort constantly trying to sell memberships and other services, which takes away from the vacation experience. Transportation is also difficult, and members appear to receive priority even when guests have medical or mobility needs. The grounds are beautiful, but overall the resort seems more focused on selling memberships than providing a quality experience for all guests. I would not stay here again.

1- The staffs members super rude and always upset.

2-My room the cleaning. Lady did not clean it for 3 days.

3.The food was really bad , we found our selfs going out every day to eat food out side.

4 Room Service don't call them they will never come .

5.The hotel is not organized at all .

The only good thing about this hotel was the room was big and the spa sales person Samuel that actually was very nice and kind .

We usually travel to PuntaCana 2-3 × a year , we usually Stay at RIU or majestics which are amazing hotel , we came to Bahia because the one in Jamaica was great !

But here in Punta Cana worst treatment ever. I dont recommend at all .

-bartenders were great
-drinks were good, except the beer was only one included and not a good tasting one
-beach was at least partially cleared of sargassum
-food was good, but you can only eat at one specialty dining other than that buffet only
(why when there was always tons of seating open with places set but somehow booked?)

Negatives:
-many many ants were crawling on my pjs in my room when I went to put them on
-6 cockroaches were outside of the buffet area during the evening concert, the waitress spilled someone else's cocktail near my feet, and she nor anyone else came to clean it and a cockroack came to drink it all the waitress did was push a chair on top of the spill
-the beach still had a thick strip of sargassum and I know other resorts clear it off the sand
-the hotel room had dirty towels on the towel rack that had stains on them when they were supposed to be new since they were folded fridge not restocked
-our hotel room had bed bugs as I have evidence of their droppings/skins on the mattress seams and bed frame but they claimed their were none after searching our room for 10 minutes only
-I was so scared of being bitten again that I slept on the balcony plastic seats and table
-I fear of bed bugs in my home now and my husband and I are still itching from tons of bites all over our bodies post trip
-no one else had sand flea bites or bites of any sort on their legs and arms as we do
-mosquitos were minimal there and they don't look like mosquito bites

Pros:
-Big nice pools with plenty chairs
-Plenty drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic)
-24/7 hrs food options was ok (burgers, fries, ham-cheese sandwich, hot dogs)
-Buffet has many food options and tables
-Buffet sweets, rice, chicken, bread, pasta, fish, and many other things were good.
-Plenty coffee and bars
-Clean rooms with cold air and strong water flow
-Free internet was great
-Plenty seats by the beach.
-Trolleys came often and drivers friendly..$1 usd tip is appreciate it.
-Weather was good low 70s at night, high 80s during the day with breeze.

Cons:
-They need to learn how to cook beef…none of the options at the buffet of specialty restaurants were good.
-Raw fish sashimi or poke were so salty that I couldn’t eat it
-Found bugs in the room (2 big roaches, a few mosquitoes, some other black type of look alike mosquito that I know sting really bad…granted this is the tropics so it is expected.
-Coffee tasted bad, all kinds
-Staff was both friendly and not so much …my wife had a few bad services, I only encountered one lady at the coffees bar that seems to be having a bad day, the rest were good to me and my daughters.
-Activity vendors at the beach are a bit aggressive and overprice (negotiation is the key)…I advice paying cash, the CC transactions are a joke
-There are a few people by the lobby that I think sell condos or timeshares, I hate those sell people they are pushy and in my opinion make the vacation experience somewhat sour.

Don’t do it!! Let’s start by saying the staff seem to hate people and spend more time socializing with each other than helping guest. We’re cover in mosquito bites from inside our room and all guest had some level of them. Food was terrible and the one buffet was so packed that most the food you had to fight for. Seaweed on the beach was knee high every morning around 9 and they only cleaned it during the day stirring up the smell (the resort next door always had minimal seaweed, so it was a resort issue). We were there 2 yrs ago and had none of these issues, hence why we book here again but it’s absolutely terrible now! And the app never worked for us so we couldn’t book anything unless we used the lobby system and had to call for any room items which were not addressed. To end the stay our kids room had a few cockroaches we had to kill and then one fell on my husband while laying in bed in our room. JUST DONT BOOK HERE!!!

The sights, music, and vibe are amazing, and the pools and beach view are fantastic. However, my experience had many issues. At check‑in, the receptionist offered an under‑the‑table upgrade: $80 officially or a $40 tip for the same “free upgrade.” The room I received was dusty, not cleaned, had human hair on the chair, dirt on the bathroom floor, and a broken AC. I asked for it to be cleaned while I explored the resort. After eating at the buffet, I returned to room 23320 and it was still not cleaned. The housekeeper only extended the sofa. I went to the lobby, moved my things, and was assigned room 14103, which was already occupied with clothes in the closet and a towel and care items on the bathroom floor. After several complaints, I was refunded the $40 and given another room that was clean but lower than the upgrade I paid for. No manager was available. After my Expedia check‑in review, the resort contacted me and offered a dinner and a 25‑minute spa service. Restaurants are nice, but service is slow, food comes one plate at a time, and English is limited, so Spanish helps. On Tuesday, I left the housekeeping sign from 10 AM to 7:30 PM, but the room was ignored until I called. The ladies did a great job once they came. Staff often expect tips and may stand waiting or ask directly. The nighttime bar vibe after dinner is amazing with music and activities.

Let's start with beginning at Bahia Principe Punta Cana (Explore)
1. Check in process was easy on the app.
2. Check in staff was nice and provided a room upgrade.
3. Rooms were recently renovated. For amenities Rooms only had hand soap, body wash and shampoo and conditioner.
4. Welcome Gift (rum and chocolate donuts)
5. Fridge had sodas, water and 2 beers.
6. Best part of the trip was the golf carts as the property is massive.
7. Pool were great.
8. Beach were not great due to weeds.
9. Service was not great; thus, people were not tipping the staff.
10. You have only two Al-Carte restaurant per visit for 5 days' vacation. Biggest disappointment was the food. Raw food such as bread and pizzas, no labels on the food, so can't tell what the food is and what are the ingredients. If you are vegetarian or vegan, not a lot of option in hot food (rice and fries). Al Carte restaurant also sucks. Been to Thali and Greek restaurant, (raw food is served). Food is not authentic. Hotel should hire a chef who can teach how to cook these recipes or look it up on YouTube.
11. Privlege members presentation are waste of your time. Unless you want a $60.00 gift card to be used at the hotel shop after sitting through the presentation for an hour.
12. This hotel tier is not geared toward the Americans. Should upgrade to better tier of Bahia principe hotels. you have option to choose from 7 sister properties.

Good place, the staff was great, but the bara closes at 11 pm so forget about drinks unless you go to the club.
The pools and beach closes at 6 pm, so if you plan on relaxing with a poolside drink not happening.
They have different restaurants options but you can only eat in one of them every 3 nights. The rest you only get buffet

The room was exceptionally clean. Thanks to Manuela, the welcome at the check-in was very nice and helped us with the reservations in the restaurants. The Mongolian restaurant was a memorable experience, the food was delicious, they were very attentive. The breakfast buffet was very good, the dinner buffet was delicious. The lobby staff and the shops are very friendly. The center pool is the best, fewer people, quieter and the bartenders were a success. Honestly, I give it a 10/10, we will definitely come back.

Property is very well maintained overall. Upgraded to the Ambar from the Punta Canta side for an adult only experience. The pool side snack bar was awful with cold and undercooked food ordered by Kiosk. Staff seemed equally unpleasant and unwelcoming. We upgraded immediately the following day to the Ambar side which was more to my liking but not the best all inclusive that I have visited by any stretch. However, notable staff members Gabriel (pool entertainment), Maiker (bartender pool & restaurant), MAMA ( housekeeping) and the male bar tender at the little beachside hut (name?) . He made the best Ice Beers with a \"dont worry be happy\" smike. The place is worth a visit. Plenty of children's amenities on the Punta Canta side for families. I would probably go to a place where there is a more elevated dining experience. But Bufffet was pretty good for a person who doesnt typically eat Buffet style. Overall, the lukewarm review for most of the service staff would probably be better if Corporate paid them fairly for all the work they do.

Our stay was Apr 8-15, 2026.

Our room was cleaned well everyday for us. We had a small hiccup with our A/C the condensation line was clogged and the ceiling leaked and drywall fell. We were able to contact maintenance and they came quickly and repaired the issue, they were going to come back and repair the ceiling the next day but we told them it could wait until we left to be done.

We spent our time at the large pools by the ocean and in the ocean. The pools were fun and clean, except maybe the party pool with the swim up bar, but that might just be my feelings about it. I felt there could have been more loungers and more spots for shade, but we did not “reserve” chairs and each day found at least 2-4 for our crew to sit in. I wish they would reinforce the no reserving chairs as lots sat with towels in prime spots without people for very long periods of time or the entire day. Same goes for down at the ocean area.

We enjoyed dinner at Il Capriccio, Takara Asian fusion and Flame. By far our favourite was Takara. It was a nice quiet intimate dinner experience with quality food.

I have seen lots of complaints online about the construction going on, but it had no effect on our stay. We chose to avoid the middle pool because it was across from the construction and they were jackhammering out the pool deck across the road. We stayed in la Ilsa area and you couldn’t hear it. I think things will settle down once they are done jack hammering.
Overall we had a great time!

Pool was enjoyable, however you need to wait very long time for a drink. Room was kept clean. Staff was mostly kind but struggling with English language. Food was just okay ( many options but quality wasn’t the best). Overall it was “okay”

Resort was completely out of washcloths and tissues. had to request bottled water every day. The description mentioned property was going to start renovations 4/10 (we were leaving 4/11) but started 4/8 and very disruptive. Insufficient number of restaurant opportunities. The buffet was extremely overcrowded as reservations were needed for any of the other seven restaurant options. The resort is advertised as having seven restaurants however they would only let you eat outside the buffet two of the seven days and reservations were extremely limited. I cancelled one of the four travelers within the required time frame but the resort/expedia did not recompense ir assist with obtaining a refund.

I spent 5 days and had a good time. The hotel is under major renovations. I was lucky to have one of the renovated rooms near the beach. The pool were big and clean, the food was good and the drinks also. The staff was helpful and friendly

The room gets clean daily but at times missing towels.
Staffs are not that hospitable, dismissive and not helpful at all—at times they just walked away especially when they don’t understand you. Although, some asked for help to understand you.
One of the restaurants near the main pool is dirty and disorganized, forget about getting your orders—staffs just give them to whoever comes. Waited for hours when number appears on the screen the food is not there.
Staffs in the buffet hold the cups or glasses by the rim with bare hands—unhygienic, we have to tell the staff about it and she asked another server to serve us instead of apologizing and change ways.
All these are from our experience on this specific hotel, we booked this hotel because our Bahia Principe experience in Mexico was good, especially their customer service. 😢

Worst Housekeeping in whole world.

The condition of the property, look, feel, amenities, pool, beach was fine. Here is the full review of why
I wouldn't ever go back.
1. Once you book, it asks you to check in 10 days before that allows you to reserve restaurants. 10 days comes, their app doesn't work.
Can't find my reservation, i had to call them was on hold for an hour and when i got hold of someone they put me on hold and i got somehow disconnected. Had to wait another hour until i got hold of someone.. they finally found my reservation and helped me reserve the restaurants. The app still didn't work and it didn't show any of my reservation. I let it go.

2. When we get there, check in was at 3pm. Our room was not ready. Waited till 4:45 in the lobby to check in. The check-in staff had no inclination of urgency. I had booked a family suite. Treated us very poorly. We were not rude or anything. We just asked for updates and they took their little time and it wasn't until 4:45 till we got a room finally.

3. When we got to the room, the two sofabeds were opened up and setup for us to use since this was a family suite. However, there was no bed sheets on the sofa, no pillows, and no comforter for them. The main bed had blood on the sheets. We called the housekeeping three times and they didn't show up. I went to the front desk to pick up the sheets and pillows, and they don't do it in the front desk, they just place orders on their screen to housekeeping

Randy the bartender at the pool bar was amazing.
Manuela at check in was so nice and upgraded our stay! The buffet was plentiful and the booked restaurants were absolutely delicious! Would love to stay here again!
