We got the swim out room I loved the privacy we got when we didn’t want to be in the main pool. The food was rarely ever hot which made the taste of it subpar. Diamond club you get room service which was nice. Cleaning staff did well maintaining the property. Our butler Jhoenmy was amazing, he helped us with excursions, transportation, luggage pick up and drop off, reservations. You name it and he was on it. Must try the steak house and hibachi for dinner. Dorado for breakfast.

I wanted to give this a great review but I just couldn’t. This past weekend my cousin & I stayed at the Royalton Hideaway Punta Cana (Adults only side) for my birthday November 13th-18th. We were also Diamond Club members which included a butler, swim out pool & certain amenities that were strictly exclusive to Diamond Club members. (luxury). Boy was that a lie. It’s not worth it! Upon entry into our room.. it smelled like old water/mildew & mold. I kept smelling an odd smell coming from the AC vent and mentioned it to our butler. He arranged for us to have our rooms switched the next day.

Guess what? Same thing in the new room except for this time.. I could actually spot the mold on in the showers. I knew I wasn’t crazy. I kept smelling something but couldn’t quite frankly put my nose on it. At that moment I found it. My cousin kept saying that our sheets on the bed felt wet. The housekeeping manager came & instead of actually fixing the problem.. they painted over it 😒
When you’re a “Diamond Club” member as they put it.. it pretty much means luxury. Not with this place! Diamond club is not worth it I promise. Do not spend your hard earned money with this hotel!
Oh yeah, I also wound up SICK with a COLD coming back home from the air quality & mold.

They also tried to fake accommodate us/ shut us up with a little 25 minute massage on the day before we were leaving which was like at 4:30pm in the evening and we had dinner reservations at 7:30pm that night.

This is a very confusing property. We were staying at the Hideaway via adult only portion of the hotel.. There is no real separation between the adult only and the rest of the property. Basically it’s a wall that separates the pool and then a separate area for lounge chairs for the beach.. aside from one dining facility. All other dining facilities are mixed with the rest of the resort. I arrived late. I was given my room and when I got there, there was a musty smell. The bathroom had mold, and the glass shower door covered in water spots. Luckily they had a room available and they made the switch this room. The bathroom was cleaner. However you can tell that it’s dated paint chips all over the shower railing. The towels are old. My room had no hand towels and a wash cloths until two days after I arrived. My friend asked for hand soap, and as I write, this still have not gotten in their room . The furniture is also dated and looks very used. Given that this was marketed as an upscale luxury autograph collection, Hotel I am very disappointed. The saving grace is the kindness and friendliness of the staff..

This was by far the worst resort experience I’ve ever had. The room was disgusting—bugs crawling around and visible mold on the walls and in the bathroom. The smell was unbearable, and it was clear the place hasn’t been properly cleaned or maintained in a long time.

What made things even worse was the staff’s response. When we brought up the issues, they acted like it was normal and did nothing to fix the situation. For the price we paid, the conditions were completely unacceptable.

If you care about cleanliness, safety, or basic comfort, avoid this resort at all costs. It ruined what should have been a relaxing vacation.

Something important to know about the property is the Royalton Resorts are all bunched up together, and Hideaway is simply one specific building with its own pool and bar, and also access to a restaurant for Hideaway guests only. The Royalton property is quite huge as a whole, so there is much to see. If you plan on doing an excursion that isn’t offered/sponsored through Royalton, then realize you’ll have to walk a majority of the way back to the front of the property. We had a group of 30, some of which were elderly, and that was not expected, so you see the issue. Other than that, most staff are very nice and wish to give you wonderful service. I couldn’t suggest the hydrotherapy session in the spa enough, definitely prepared me for my travels back home.

This hotel is amazing, but this is not a Adult only resort. This is a terrible mistake to mix different customers. We ha ve only a little swimming pool (not to say a bath tube) reserved for adults... But the other activities has been practised with family group. It unfair and dangerous. You serve many alcohol beverage and make party at the same time with different people...
But everything is okay for any comfort duties...

I didn’t appreciate how we paid for adults only but come to find out. It was only adults only where we rest our head at night. The entire facility had children except for where we slept which was the hideaway. That needs to be disclosed because there was a lot of children which we didn’t want to be around. Hence why we chose ADULTS ONLY !

Hotel & pools are beautiful. Most staff very nice. Michael Jackson show & spa were amazing! We stayed in late june & beach was full of seaweed. Had we researched this, we would not have went. Every day they rake the seeweed into piles, then push them back into the ocean. The smell was horrible, like rotten fish. We paid to go to Sanoa island & Macao beach which were nicer. The worst part of the hotel is the dining situation which the staff really dont care about. We had a room w/4 people & we traveled w/family in another room of 4. We NEVER got to eat dinner together. You must have cell service bc everyday no matter if your snorkeling, diving, riding a horse, whatever..you must stop & get on your phone at 5pm to book your dinner for the next day. Diamond members get first bookings, hideaway guests (which was us) get 2nd opportunities & we almost always only had options to eat at 9 or 945pm. We begged to be able to eat w/the rest of our family to no avail. HOWEVER the restaurant would ALWAYS have many open tables of 4 or 8! our family absolutely could have ate together! I took pics of all the open tables yet was told repeatedly they could not allow the other 4 people to dine in the same restaurant with us. They have all kinds of people trying to sell you excursions or sign u up for rewards but no one to help book your dinners for the week. I think they prefer everyone to go to buffet. I thought it would be easier ro eat at the 11 rest. They advertise. Aruba & cancun better

Impossible to get any dinner reservations the whole 5 days despite it being an all inclusive resort. The reservations were saved for the guests that were “diamond” and no others were able to get dinner reservations at all. Wry frustrated to pay for an all inclusive resort and not get to dine at any of the restaurants and have to eat the buffet every night for dinner .

I really enjoyed my stay, I felt comfortable and relaxed the whole time. All personnel made us feel comfortable throughout our stay! I couldn't find a bad moment the whole week. Jennifer who works at the Hideaway went up and beyond making me and my wife comfortable. The food was excellent my room was immaculate on a daily basis.
This was my first all inclusive trip and I enjoyed it!

Está parte es un apartado solo adulto que consta de una piscina y un bar con buena bebida. En el edificio el servicio a cliente es muy bueno, el check in y out es privado. Tuvimos inconveniente con la reserva tenemos tc doble saldo y no cobran en dólares sino que realizan la conversión en pesos dominicanos por loq tuvimos k salir para la ciudad a buscar dinero, y lo peor de todo fue k había llamado dos veces al hotel y me aseguraron que si se podía y cuando llego no es asi. También tuve mala experiencia con los restaurantes buffet los cuales casi siempre están llenos y como turista local no ponen atención, no nos ponían servilletas y los tenedores los tiraban, las veces k fuimos paso igual, a los extranjeros tratan mejor. Por otro lado, pudimos reservar un restaurante y fue excelente, adicional a los que están reservados en la zona solo adultos tenemos disponible de un restaurante a la carta fijo. El hotel es muy bonito y entretenido, le diera la oportunidad nuevamente.

The reason why I am giving the hotel two stars is because my husband and I paid for a romantic dinner that we had horrible experience and service, all we got was a salad and a bottle of why after forty minutes of waiting and we left after another forty minutes because we did not get anything else. I spoke to management to receive a refund and nothing has been done about it. Aside from the experience the hotel is clean, the people are very nice, the beach is beautiful. There are a variety of restaurants and cuisines. The water park and escape room (which is an extra cost) were a lot of fun. There is also a souvenir store right outside the hotel property. One of the downsides is that the mini bar in the room does not get refilled.

I had a great stay at Hideaway. The staff made us feel very welcomed and did everything to make sure we were comfortable. There is so many activities to do everyday so you will never get bored. A lot of people have complained how Hideaway is a small area for adults only whereas Royalton itself is for family - I didn’t find this to be an issue. In fact, I think the fact that there were families staying here made it more fun, considering the amount of events that are available for all ages. All in all, this is the best resort I have stayed it. Special shout out to Vibes Team, the housekeeping and front desk staff for being excellent!!

Horrible experience. Worst all inclusive I have been to! First when we came our room was occupied we had to wait on another room. We could not eat any decent dinner for the first 3 nights because we have to book on the royalton app to eat at restaurants and according to the app they are fully booked! Fourth day was the same I had to take it up with management because I decided my money wasn’t going to go like that. Another issue was language barrier, staff barely knew English so it was very difficult to communicate. They will charge a certain price to book excursions for you but if you book it online by yourself it is like 100 bucks cheaper. Food was not what I expected at all very bad.

Rushed to order food because they were short staff was rude. Only person that was pleasant was Fredrico in the buffet area as well as the young ladies in the coffee shop. Room wasn’t ready until five. Safe wasn't working, bar wasn’t filled. Beware of this place. The water to brush my teeth came out brown. This is on the Hideaway side. We will never stay here ever again. The shower was dirty. Not too sure why it took so long to get into a dirty room.

Hideway at Royalton exceeded my expectations. The hideway is thirty minutes from the airport the ride is pleasant. I was helped by Harrison and Carolina for check-in. Estela in housekeeping is wonderful, she respected my privacy, she and her team always greeted me with a smile. I recommend going the extra mile and paying extra for the Diamond club, an added bonus is a butler. My butler Carolina stole my heart, she is kind. Lovely and attentive. Carolina took care of all our needs including sticking my room with whatever we needed. We were treated with the utmost respect and kindness. Everyone greets you with a smile and is willing to go the extra mile expecting nothing in return
The buffet is great, drinks flow freely. I plan on returning next year with my family. Thank you for creating such a warm and welcoming environment for me.

When booking this property, we were under the impression that this was an adults only property when in actuality it wasn’t. There were kids all over the property. The service was horrible. The food was disgusting to say the least and there was not many options to chose from. After our 2nd day the report went under construction. The overall experience just sucked.

Room service took over an hour every time. Housekeeping had to be called repeatedly before they would come clean. Horrible, will not come back. Will not recommend.

Didn’t have my room ready during check in. 3pm didn’t have bags so couldn’t change. Around 4:30pm I asked for my bag to change. Missed out on events and still no room. Got into the room around 6pm. I also didn’t get assistance in getting my bags to the 3rd floor since I asked for them to change earlier.

Slept and then didn’t know if room service got my order through the TV no answer around midnight. It did show up and some called after I
Got through to someone after asking hotels.com and calling the front desk. 2am heard a couple fighting and yelling this went on for awhile called the front desk and someone came and spoke with them around 3am. Didn’t get much sleep. House keeping knocked around 8:30am. Very disappointed and spoke to you and thanks for comping my night.

First of I’ve always loved the Royalton resorts .I after trying most of them this one needs some work … .. that being said customer service is definitely a big one … while some of the staff go above and beyond some are completely clueless when is comes to a simple thing as a smile … I do have to say if you plan on visiting go with an open mind and don’t expect too much … I also have to shout out to a few of the staff there that went above and beyond to make some of the our undesirable mishaps better …some of the staff should clearly reconsider the hospitality industry …a big thank you to Jhoenmy our butler you definitely go above and beyond I wish u all the best , Jose Paulino you are an exceptional manager thank you … Fernando at the Dorado you are a gem along with your chef … you made my day with your special meals definitely will be back for that Octopus!!
On another note my trip did not start out great a few mishaps along the way but the people mentioned about surely changed it all … Susy Ramos at the hideaway check in you are a breath of fresh thank you for everything.
Now I regards to the hotel accommodation.. my suggestion is please renovate your bathrooms the fish bowl sinks are really not needed , the safe in the very tiny closet with the most awkward doors should be on the top shelf not where a person needs to go down on their knees to open it .. the lighting in the rooms are horrible your rooms need some updating blankets for the beds would be nice.

We had a very relaxing stay at hideaway the staff in the restaurants and all bars were amazing very attentive. Unfortunately the front desk staff were not very helpful. Our luggage was never delivered to our room so my husband had to go and bring it to us after 30 minutes of waiting and calls to the front desk were less than helpful as we were left on hold forever without any answers. The only reason i selected this hotel was because of the 10-12 restaurants and the club. At least 4 of the restaurants were closed no one knew what waa going until the 3 day they told us renovation. We finally found the 2 restaurants in Splash one was closed the other one was booked an hour after opening. The club was not a club it was a bar with rude staff. Overall food was not good and I had food poisoning for over a week ended in the emergency room.

Don’t know if it was the water or the food but got absurdly sick 2 days in out of the 5 days of vacation so wasn’t enjoyable at all. Place wasn’t amazingly clean, so I don’t want to attribute it to the food not being prepared right or just the water if a different country really don’t know but I terms of the staff cleaning rooms they did a good job. Somewhat jaded in this review because I didn’t really get to enjoy the trip due to sickness but the hotel was average overall.

Place is great, the food and drinks perfect. But the staff at check-in was horrible there were only one person able to help. After having trouble checking in changing room and giving me no information at the main lobby, the rest was great.

Loved the Diamond Club, staff and service great. Wish I had gotten the swim up rooms, they seemed fun. Wouldn't recommend the honeymoon suite, Jacuzzi had to be filled by butler. Only used it once, also the balcony of the honeymoon suite overlooked the back of a restaurant and dumpster area. Restaurants were decent, although portions were very small in some cases. W

We liked the staff, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are in need of updating. The facilities, (restaurants, pool etc are in good shape. The only thing we were disappointed in, is the food preparation. It was hit and miss with dinners and lunch. No disrespect to the chefs that are there, save (Doronos) really need some Good Chefs. Just not talented enough I'm afraid

Once you get to the property the staff is very friendly and helpful And there were a lot of people doing a lot of things for us (shuttle to hideaway check in, the person who checked us in, person who took care of us during our stay, and the person who took our bags to the room.) the room was fantastic, the walls were a little thin but that was only a problem when people were talking loudly in the hall. The hideaway section was lovely and there were eating areas that were adults only too which was lovely (first come first serve). I could go on!

My wife and I stayed there for five days in November and absolutely loved it. We have been to many all inclusive resorts, but this was definitely was a step above.
We had a swim up room with the butler, and everything was top notch. Our Butler Manuel was very responsive to any of our needs.
Each night we had dinner at a different restaurant, and the food was excellent every time.
My wife and I had two negatives. Mine was the seaweed on the beach. I have been to other resorts where they use a machine to clean the beach every night. In addition, they advertise them selves as an adult only resort, but that really wasn’t true. They did have a section that was adults only but all the restaurants allowed children there and sometimes they acted accordingly . One pool was adults only but the other two pools had children.
Overall, it was an excellent resort, and would definitely recommend to other people

This resort is a joke and should never be considered an “adult only” resort. There is 1 pool- no swim up bar and 1 restaurant on the entire resort that is actually adult only…you can see and hear kids no matter where you are!! And the staff is very rude and everyone says sorry no habla English

Not much to say! Honestly if it wouldn’t be because of the activities and the night disco it would have been boring. The food wasn’t tropical, it was American food. When you travel to a other country you want to try the countries food. The room is tiny and basic. Beach was clear blue which I enjoyed and drinks were really good and strong, some people were nice some were rude.

I lost my bracelet for diamond club in the ocean. They wanted me to pay $20 to replace it but they are the ones who put it on me and secured it but they wanted me to replace it. That turned me off on the whole thing as it took them 4 days to finally give me a new bracelet four days later
After they over charged me $1200 dollars for diamond club which i was already in Hideaway Club and didnt need Diamond Club
