We have been coming to this resort for over ten years, sometimes twice a year. Grounds are absolutely stunning and so is the wildlife.

I recently stayed at this resort and had a mixed experience. The property itself is beautiful, well maintained, and clearly designed to host many guests. The buffet offered a good variety of food and most dishes we tried were quite good, which was a highlight of the stay.

The hotel staff were also very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience more pleasant. Their kindness and willingness to help did not go unnoticed.

However, one thing that was honestly surprising—and unacceptable—was the complete lack of baby changing facilities. For a resort of this size that clearly receives many families with young children, it’s hard to understand how there isn’t a single bathroom or designated area equipped with a baby changing table.

The wine included in the all-inclusive package was unfortunately very poor in quality. Another disappointment was the Thai restaurant. Because it’s difficult to get a reservation, we expected much better. The “all-inclusive” menu felt very limited and the flavor of the dishes was not particularly exceptional.

One more negative point: a company operating inside the hotel approaches guests—especially those who have just arrived—to try to sell a time-sharing program. The approach feels pushy and, in my opinion, it’s not worth it. I would strongly advise other guests not to sign up.

Overall, the resort is beautiful and the staff are kind, but these issues affected our stay.

**Great Solo Getaway – Friendly Staff & Perfect Beach Location**

I took a last-minute solo trip and stayed at Caribe Deluxe Princess. I’ve been to many resorts in the Dominican Republic, and I would rate this one around a 3.5–4 star resort overall.

Check-in was smooth and easy. Milagros at the concierge desk was very friendly and accommodating, which made a great first impression.

My beachfront room was exactly what I was hoping for. The pools, beach, and restaurants were literally just steps from my door, which made everything very convenient. The room itself was nice, although it could use a little maintenance. At times there was a slight sewage smell coming from the bathroom/shower area. The door key system is built into the bracelet, which is convenient, but I do wish there was an additional security lock inside the room. The mini fridge was fully stocked, which I appreciated.

The resort grounds were clean and well maintained. I only used one of the three pools, which seemed to be the quietest and perfect for a relaxing solo trip. It was also located near the beach bar grill, which was very convenient. Also a slight sewage smell in certain areas

The buffet had some good options, and I also dined at Pilon and the Asian restaurant during my stay. Service around the resort was great. Starlin at the pool/beach bar was very attentive, and Wascar the bartender was also excellent.

The room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it to be. The rooms weren’t even swept or mopped. We had sand every day in our rooms. The shower knobs and handles to sink were so disgusting. The toilet wasn’t freshened. The beds were about the only thing changed and cleaned. Which was sad. The telephones stopped working after 830pm. I couldn’t call down for even ice. It was horrible.

During our stay of a couple days, we got locked out of our room, then there were issues with plumbing and water was turned off for half a day, the food is not that great- stay away from
the beef! The beach was beautiful but you will get interrupted every 5 minutes with people trying to sell you overpriced souvenirs or fake jewelry. The staff were nice and helpful. If we were to travel to the DR again, we would look at staying at another resort.

The room wasnt good. There were no chairs except outside. The toilets didnt work most of the time. There was the smell of sewage outside the whole time, especially after a rain. Their holiday club lied about everything and refused to honor any of their promises. The towels were changed every day but they were threadbare and torn. The beach wasnt cleaned for garbage and seaweed. The only decent thing were the regular staff. They were extemely friendly. Would not recommend Princess for anything

This was supposed to be an enjoyably mother – daughter trip and we ended up leaving the next day. We had saved our money for quite a while to take this trip and looking at the pictures and the reviews, it seemed like it was gonna be OK. Upon arriving, we were locked out of our room for nearly an hour. When we got there, they told us in order to eat at any of the restaurants you have to make reservations, and that all the restaurants were full. We were told we would have to only eat at the buffet, which was some of the worst food I have ever had. In order to get anything from the front desk, you have to take a shuttle back up to the main building. We noticed we didn’t have any blankets on our bed only a sheet so I went to use the phone to have them bring us a blanket and our phone did not work. I had to wait for a shuttle almost 15 minutes in the pouring rain, they took me back up to the lobby, where I requested a blanket and an extra pillow They never brought it. I went back out at 10:30 at night to go tell them I still had not received the blanket but the shuttle never came. I slept in my jakcet and I covered my daughter with towels so she could stay warm.I truly believe because we didn’t sign up for the two hour spiel to try to get us to buy a timeshare we were not taken care of. We were devasted. Some of the staff were nice but half were incredibly rude. I was told I would be penalized for leaving early.

Firstly, they charged us additional for children when we clearly booked 2 children on our reservation. The rooms smelled like raw sewage, I had to sleep with the balcony door open to tolerate the smell. The buffet was inedible. We ate at restaurants off the resort. There were roaches in the rooms. It was by far the worst resort I’ve ever stayed in!

Room was very clean and spacious. Staff was very friendly and helpful when booking restaurants. There were plenty of options for food and activities. There were Nexus staff at the resort so booking excursions was pretty simple and easy. The on site spa was also very clean and a nice experience. I would recommend guests to bring mosquito repellent as there are quite a bit here, I even got bit while in the spa. There are Royal Holiday staff at this location that will try to sell you on their service, I would recommend to be firm if you are not interested as their presentations can eat up a bit of your time.

Rooms could be updated a bit. Air conditioner was very loud, sink was spraying/broken on the tap so it was hitting my waist, shower head was hanging improperly. Staff was nice but during meals, I finished my food by the time I got water or a beverage I requested. The wifi was really bad so I had to use data and the reservations for the specific restaurants were either not working on their app or unable to book. Food was mediocre

There were no chairs available in beach, no towels, beach chairs were all broken. Tiles were broken on the walkways, tripping hazard. The food was terrible. There were no reservations available. Phones in rooms were broken. Locks on doors were broken, room flooded. Terrible!

Me and my husband just came back the stay was great there was internment every day, clean friendly staff they only complaint is that the food for example for vegetarian there was no protein options except veggies only, for sausages you won’t know if it’s pork or beef,, there were few days when we had no hot water in case you like hot shower that might be an issue.. otherwise the resort is big and great with two large pools and big pool for kids side with playground

A guy by the name of ~mackenzy. Tied to sell us time share. Even we told him we are not interested. I have many texts from him. Including promising presents. And to tell us to lie and not to go for the 90 mi utes presentation. PLUS HE LIED said in writing via what’s app that he reserved for us supper at the Brazilian restaurant at 8. We got there. No reservation made. And 2nd dinner at 8,30.
I asked and met the manager the following day. She said she will look into it. But NOTHING. This was pure harassment of 2 guests. We have profs in writing on the what’s app non stop messages from this employee of the hotel. Shame on the hotel.

My overall experience at this facility was pretty bad. The guy from the princess club associates were very pushy, especially a Venezuelan manager who made discriminatory comments when we keep questioning how the hotel credits works. This gentleman made the assumption that we shouldn’t be asking so many questions since we didn’t pay for VIP reservations.

The room in this resort is nice and clean, with the AC system working perfectly. In the buffet area, there aren’t many choices and the food tastes below my liking. This is by far the worst wifi I have ever seen on a resort. The wifi did not work at all and you could only connect using you cellular data. For the price we paid and not having access to a wifi is unacceptable. I will not come back.

Viajamos desde New Jersey, tuvimos un buena experiencia. Solo algunos detalles: como cuando llegamos habían personas vendiendo cositas pero estaban encima de ti para que vieras sus productos… si no fuera así quizás me acercaba a ver que tenían. Éramos tres en un cuarto nos dieron solo dos toallas, al próximo día nos dieron la 3ra la ama de limpieza muy amable. Las facilidad es hermosas, para conseguir reservación muy difícil. Todo lo demás excelente volvería de nuevo.

The people at the resort were kind, but the experience overall was disappointing. The food was nasty, and the resort wasn’t very clean. Even though it’s supposed to be all-inclusive, you have to pay extra for almost everything—better food, better wine, activities, and more.

They advertise the resort as kid-friendly, but there really isn’t much for children to do. The few things that looked fun for kids required an additional fee, which was frustrating. Cleanliness was also inconsistent throughout the resort.

All in all, I didn’t like it and I won’t be going back. The only reason I had a good time was because I was with my family.

Staff and drinks were great. Buffett food was subpar and I’m almost certain I got food poisoning from the salad bar. Be sure to make reservations at the beginning of your stay for the restaurants on site. Room was nice despite the only downfall being the must smell.

I have been to this resort 6 times previously, with minor issues, but this time was different. We had 3 rooms. All 3 needed to be changed because of either raining from the ceiling, water and mold in the bathroom and AC not working. They did provide us a change and upgrade (for a fee). The bar service was substandard, they spent more time arguing with each other, than serving drinks. The buffet was very basic this time, but what got me was sitting in for morning coffee and watching a plate with food sit on the table for 1.5 hours, while staff walked by and birds flew in and picked it apart.
The sports bar, TWICE, served me a cold, not warm, but fridge cold burger and onion rings. I was violently sick the last 2 days of my trip.
I don't usually complain for small things and I did let a lot of things slide, but I did send an internal review to the hotel check in and they offered us \"Platinum\" restaurant access, but it served mostly fish, which none of us eat. So they sent us fruit and champagne, which I couldn't eat or drink at this point, because I became so sick.

The whole experience was great.
We had an issue at check in, but Elias & Ana helped to resolve the situation.

All the staff were helpful, courteous and very polite.

The rooms were lovely.
I would however recommend on adding more sockets for charging devices and another bin as the only bin is by the toilet.

The hotel grounds were stunning and well kept.

Would definitely come again.

By far one of the best resorts I have ever been to. From Jerry helping us with check-in and all the information (Thank you so much for you great assistance and kindness), to the wonderful staff throughout the resort. Excellent. This resort has EVERYTHING and more. The entertainment was diverse and simply amazing. The food was so GOOD. The beach is simply breathtaking. We definitely recommend and would be back 100%!

El hotel estaba bien pero Expedia no lo catalogo como 5 stars.
Esto es un complejo de hoteles Princess, el Gran Bavaro Princess es el mejor a nuestra consideracion.
El servicio al cliente es bien pobre, mala cara de algunos empleados, tanto a la hora de hacer una solicitud como de atenderte.
La comida no era muy variada para un hotel de 5 estrellas, camarones small, mala calidad.
Fuimos al restaurante Dominicano (mofongo y salcocho) y el Italiano. Lo recomendamos mucho mas que ir al buffete.
Consideramos que bajaron el estandar del hotel debido a la cantidad de Dominicanos hospedados, ya que despues que estos se fueron la energia del hotel cambio y los dependientes fueron mas amables.
Las habitaciones a pesar que limpiaban siempre estaban con el piso mojado.
Deben asegurarse que en la recepcion les entregan las tarjetas de las toallas de playa porque de lo contrario tendran que regresar al lobby a recogerlas.
La estructura del hotel es bonita y esta bien cuidado, te sientes en contacto con la naturaleza. En la noche hay shows nocturnos y animacion. Eramos un grupo de 4 personas incluyendo 1 niño de 2 años, es un hotel ideal para familias.
Definitivamente este hotel tiene mucho potencial para mejorar la experiencia de los huespedes, ofrecer mas; pero necesita mejor administracion, el servicio al cliente, limpieza y comida.

Mi primera ves en un resort de este tipo, nuestra experiencia fue muy buena, viajamos con una niña de 3 años y el personal del resort estaba muy atento en acomodarnos en todo lo posible, la variedad de la comida en el buffet muy buena, gracias a Geisha,Maximo y Joan muy agradecidos por la atencion,los restaurantes a la carte excellente la comida, nos gusto el entretenimiento por las noches y la pasamos muy bien, en el camino a casa ya planeavamos nuestro proximo viaje de regreso, por ultimo una critica construtiva, los bartenders deberian ser un poco mas friendly. Gracias a todos por los recuerdos.

It was pretty decent but alcohol was weak and nasty, food was sometimes good but mostly not and besides the buffet the menu doesn’t have much to choose from. Staff was friendly enough but does not go the extra mile, barely even saw them smile. Also for anyone reading this the pool closes at 6pm but doesn’t say that on the website at least not easy to find.

We had the honeymoon suit which was lovely but kept facing issues with the plug and it took ages to fill up. We did have cockroaches in the room and my husband was very unwell with sickness and diarrhoea. It wasn’t very clean. Lots of Hispanics who are very rude and pushing in around the buffet. Buffet was ok but we didn’t eat there much due to being platinum members so we were able to go to a restaurant each night. It’s very worth it to pay extra to be platinum so you can have comfortable sun loungers. The activities looked good. Food was swarmed by flies all of the time. They try and get you involved in timeshares (Joan was a member of staff who would not leave us alone) and they pester you.

The food options are a joke. We were forced to eat at the buffet for the duration of our visit because the hotel had overbooked and you couldn’t make reservations through the app that they tell you to download. I only found out that that was the reason why we couldn’t make reservations and it was suggested that we should have called customer service to make reservations when we were checking out. How helpful to us at checkout? So we endurer the buffet which had mediocre food with both adults and children picking off the food with their hands.

The staff was excelent. Special thanks to the pool bartenders Wally and Juan. Thanks aldo to Xavier. I didnt like the fact that on the ladt day our room was not cleaned and I had to call twice for clean towels. Other than that we had a great time. The food, drinks and entertainment were great.

The staff seem to only go out of their way for a tip. I don’t necessarily like it when they only assist you as long as you have cash on hand to offer. On top of this, they allow vendors to visit the property to sell stuff and constantly bother you when you walk past. The vendors are only there to scam people. Upon arrival, I was excited to try out one of their many restaurants, and tried to book a reservation online, and apparently all of them were reserved during the entirety of our stay. We were forced to eat at the buffet our entire stay. Another frustrating thing is that they close the pools and the beaches very early. If you plan on waiting for the sun to not be as hot to go swimming you better just assume you won’t be able to swim at all. The people at the activities center at the beach over charge you, and make sure you don’t take photos with any animals on the beach, because they take advantage of foreigners and demand money from them. The maids only give out one bathroom towel per person, and only one device can have WiFi in your room. So my husband and I had to switch between who will use the WiFi just to use our phones in bed. It wouldn’t be an issue if there was enough cell service to reach my phone, but of course there wasn’t. I will not be going back.

POSITIVE REVIEWS ARE SCAM!
They hacked my husband's account on TripAdv*sor and posted raving reviews under his name (Kegmy R) - go look, identical reviews were left under Caribe Deluxe Princess and Tropical Princess. HE DID NOT WRITE THEM. I also left a review including a picture of me there, so you know I am a real person and to show you his profile was hacked, as you could see a picture of me in his profile.

We just got back from our 2 week stay - it was the worst experience in 18 years we have been coming here - flies on food, plates and glasses are dirty. You could not find a clean table to eat at, dirty plates left everywhere, had to hunt for your own forks and knives. Ask for water and wait for 30 mins. Most workers could care less about anything, borderline rude, indifferent at best (especially in the buffet, coffee and ice-cream shops). Cleaning lady was not friendly either. Forget about pretty animals made of towels or flowers, they barely cleaned our room. Mosquitos were not fumigated even after a request. AC did not cool down the room.
Beach is awful, they don't clean it, seaweed accumulates and rots, it smells. Once you pass Princess hotels - beaches are clean, but they are far away.
Rooms are fairly large, but not maintained. Our shower door was falling off, toilet paper holder was broken on arrival and remained in the same spot till we left (even though cleaning came in daily, maintenance did as well). Mosquitos are everywhere.
