I don't like giving bad reviews but I feel I have no choice. We choose this hotel due to it's location as we had to catch and early morning train. We arrived at the hotel at 440pm on a Sunday. Sign stating check in until 5pm so we were on time.
The building was locked and we could not access reception. I called the after hours number on a piece of paper the wall and the gentleman from somewhere answered and stated that reception closed at 3pm. I would have to send him an email with a copy of my licence before they would give me the access. I told him I did not feel comfortable sending him my licence due to this age of fraud and he told me he could not check me in.
I wanted to check in face to face so I was given the address of the Arrow on Swanston which was a 25 minute walk. We walked there and spoke to the gentleman who I showed my ID and then he gave us the codes to check in. Asked for our credit card and I went to scan it and he told me i couldn't do that as I was staying at another hotel and had to enter the bond into the computer. I was so tired from travelling that I just handed it over. I wanted this to be over.
We walked back to the hotel entered and it was putrid. The elevators, the halls and the stains on the door made me feel sick. We entered and there were stains on the tiles, toilet unflushed, shower stains. Sheets were clean though. NEVER AGAIN will I stay here.

I needed to stay somewhere with short notice and whilst I was appreciative of obtaining a booking, I would never stay at Arrow Spencer Street again.
Firstly, the confirmation email via booking agent I rcvd said the reception was open till late at night. Upon arrival there was a sign stating reception closed at 5pm. I contacted the listed number and ultimately (after much to-ing and fro-ing) check in was completed. When I expressed my dissatisfaction the person I spoke with said the website stated they closed at 5pm. I checked Arrow Spencer Street and it did not state this, so far as I could see.
The room itself was appalling. Marks and grime all over the place. The window was utterly filthy. The wardrobe door was askew. The only seating was a cheap and nasty plastic setting and one of the chairs was wobbly. The bathroom was an utter disaster. The toilet cistern made a hideous noise for most of the night. The bathroom vanity was in an appalling state. The shower door was very difficult to maneuver and given that it was glass this was quite unsafe. The shower did not drain and within several minutes of the shower being on it turned into a foot bath and leaked on the floor. The only positive was the bed and which was quite comfortable.
Overall I would rate the property at between a 1 and 2. Arrow really should have paid me to stay at the property rather than me paying a fee. It was quite simply one of the worst properties I had ever stayed in. I will never return.

Maybe I didn’t see the information about how to find the hotel. I had to ask a hotel close by where to find it. Outside facade says Harbourview. Location is great. Trams really close by, not to mention Marvel stadium is walking distance.

We were pleased with our stay. In particular the staff were very helpful. In the first attempt we thought the lift was not functional and we used the stairs. Turns out the button just needs a firmer press.

The property was old and outdated. It smelt and was grotty. There was a distinict stale cigarette smell in the room and not very clean. The layout wasnt liveable thank god we only had one night. I dont mind staying in budget places but not when i paid a premium price. I could have had 2 nights at crown for what we paid for one night in this place. We will never stay there again.

Basic, run down and cockroaches in the kitchen, carpet needed a serious deep clean as full of dirt, bathroom grates needed a good scrub, balcony covered in bird droppings. Fire alarm went off on second night, barely heard it in the room, luckily one person heard and woke the rest, however an alarm was left continuously going for 2 days straight after. You get what you pay for, definitely won't be staying again, barely what I'd class as a 2 star hotel, these 5 star reviews are totally paid for.

Very unworthy . I asked the receiptionist for the adjustment of the booking made mistakenly on 20 june to transfer to 6 th june . I went to the premises and came to know they had room . But he said he didnot want to transfer as they had no room. So poor and customer unfriendly hotel. I recommend anyone who is going over there . Do not go

We had arrived early but I had emailed them previously to let them know that we will won’t need the room until later that evening and We needed to park our cars. Due to no one being there we were unable to check in.

However, property itself was in quite poor condition with many scratched, stained or poorly repaired aspects. Also, the traffic noise throughout the night was fairly substantial - although this is fairly unavoidable.

The property is actually canned Harbour View appartments- VERY difficult to locate in an Uber at 11pm. Called reception twice in Uber, as they close at 11pm and at no stage was it mentioned that there’s been a re-brand!
Also, booked paid for “Deluxe” Queen bed and double bed. Actually got a double and a single. Sofa stained. Overall grotty and smelt of mould. No room service ( as advertised) and be prepared to order Uber eats !

I called before I checked in to see if there was car park available. The nice lady said yes. I parked my car in the garage and went to check in and asked the receptionist about parking but he said they have “limited parking” and that I had park across the road. I waited at the exit for 10-15 minutes for someone to open the door but no one did so I just parked in the building for free. Terrible stay. Very underwhelming.

The apartment was great for our family of 7, especially as the master bedroom was huge! We were able to have two children per extra bedroom and our baby in with us. The master bedroom had an ensuite, and there was a family bathroom. The street noise was more than ok, given that our room overlooked Spencer Street. We will definitely return.

Terrible reception & bond refund issue
Check in advertised as after 2pm. Got a call asking me to check in before 3pm & was told normally reception was open until 9pm but for some special reason was closing early. I hadn't planned to get there until 6pm. They offered to stay open until 5pm (the earliest I could possibly get there was between 4 & 5pm) so I had to change my travel plans. When I arrived the reception was open and receptionist told me reception normally closed at 4pm but he would be there until 7pm! I was also unable to arrange to leave a room key for my partner who was arriving on a later train - so had to change my plans again which meant I was late for the event I was visiting Melbourne for!! I wouldn't have stayed here but had pre-paid online for the room. Then on checking out in the morning was told that the $100 room bond (another check-in surprise) would not be returned to me for 3 to 5 days! I do not recommend staying here.

Great value for money and location was fantastic, being so close to Southern Cross. Gym was disappointing, only the treadmill was plugged in and operating.

A great location being very close to Southern Cross Station. The staff were friendly and helpful. The TV was difficult to operate and l had to get a staff member to turn it on. The room smelt a bit funny and l think a previous guest had been a smoker!

Location of this property is excellent! Trams at the doorstop, in many directions, including Tourist loop & Major Train Station, Southern Cross only a few minutes walk. Large Coles supermarket very close, open from 6am till 12Midnight. My Apartment was very spacious & loved the balcony view across at the Big Wheel at Docklands, that has a light show at night👌👍Bonus having a kitchenette & Hotel Staff all very friendly & helpful.

Didn't like our first room as I suffer from anxiety when I can't see out a window. The window opened onto a concrete wall. I thought we would have been accommodated in a room with a view. Paid extra for the balcony room. Reception didn't seem to realise my predicament. Second apartment was much better. Hotel is located very well close to transport.

I have stayed in over 50 apartments in Melbourne itself, and over hundreds in the world. This is by far the worst apartment that anyone can live in. Expedia should get this apartment off its list. I stayed in 301,
a. Very Dirty: The room and the building was smelly, the corridors were stinking. The balcony was full of dust flying into the room. The carpet was dirty and mouldy.
b. The mattress was broken
c. The room was tiny den and way smaller than other comparative accomodations in the same budgets.
d. The basic kitchen amenities of utensils, wine or drink glasses were missing.

Asked about parking at the property the day before check in and was told buy the young fella on reception there was no parking available for the next day.
When we checked in we asked the young lass on reception just to make sure and were told there is/was plenty of parking available, made the night before's search for park the car a waste of time!

We booked through hotels.com two months before our date. Arrived to find the place overbooked and told there was no place for us as they hadn’t been notified by hotels.com and the chap on the counter struggled to cope with the problem. Thank goodness we were able to be accommodated at another arrow hotel .

Have stayed here on several occasions but feel that the service and maintenance has gone backwards. Felt that staff were less friendly. Apartment ok but Very noisy fan in bathroom sounded like a plane taking off. Still a convenient place to stay near Southern Cross station. Wifi good but cut off at around 7am on checkout day so not able to download info for onward travel.
