To make arrangements for check-in please contact the property at least 48 hours before arrival using the information on the booking confirmation. Prior to arrival, guests must complete online registration with the property via a secure link. Guests will be asked to provide the property with a copy of their government-issued photo ID before arrival. \nGuests will receive an email within 72 hours before arrival with check-in instructions and an access code. Guests can access their accommodation through a private entrance. A virtual front desk provides assistance to guests. Guests can choose to either self-clean the property prior to check-out, or pay an additional cleaning fee of AUD 50 at check-out. Unfortunately the room was dirty - clumps of hair in the bathroom, a strong cooking smell in the entire apartment and unclean drawers/cupboards in the kitchen.

Awful experience. Had a late checkin and their credit card payment system didn't work to provide my deposit which happens. But they new it wasn't working and did nothing to warn me or identify another way to get into my room. I was on the phone for 90 minutes with them before they let me pay the next day. And that was just my first few horus of a miserable few days at their location. Melbourne was beautiful regardless!

Disappointed with our stay at Melbourne City Suites. We booked for 7 people, and when we arrived there was only bedding for 6 people.
When we questioned this at reception they acknowledged that the \"room rate was for 7 people\" but it would be an extra fee for a rollaway bed.
Additionally, I opted for the 'self-check in' in which you are supposed to be sent an email with instructions the day prior. I never received the email, and on the morning of check in, called reception to ask them to resend it, to which they said they would, but again it never came through.
Checking in was extremely clunky- Melbourne City Suites operate out of a hotel room within the facilities of another hotel, the reception is in a hotel room on the 8th floor, and was a slow process. There were 4 people in front of us and we were waiting in line for approx 30 minutes.
Parking was also an issue. I called prior to booking to booking about the parking situation as it was important for us to book somewhere with parking. They stated they had a car park and to provide the vehicles registration and they will reserve a car park.
Upon arrival, the car park (a public car park) was full. I was very fortunate to wait until someone left and I was able to get a park. I just found that saying a 'car park was reserved' for us was extremely misleading. Also, the overnight fee was cheaper than the hotel car park fee, which we had already paid for.
Overall the customer service was very disappointing.

Sadly the standard of cleanliness was well below acceptable. We had to make four requests for Nespresso coffee capsules before any arrived. The reception staff were pleasant but communications within the hotel were poor. The hotel insists that guests wash dishes upon departure (no dishwasher) consequently we found our dishes next to the rubbish bin under the sink and had to wash them before using. Disappointing.

Booked for 5 people (2 adults, 3 kids). Was allocated a 4 bed room, but that's fine because we booked and paid for the extra kid. Reception advertised as open till 8 on Friday, got there before 7, it was shut. Had to \"renew\" my deposit? before they'd give me access to the room. Room had 2 queen beds, no extra one, no fold out couch. Was told i could have another bed if i paid for it - the extra I'd already paid is apparently just to let the person in the room?? Was told you have to specify if you're booking a room for 5 that you want everyone to have a place to sleep?! They couldn't provide us with the extra bed because no one was on site, my son had to sleep on the floor. The room was very dark - there was a window out on to an alley and it was in the bedroom but other than that there were no windows. The booking said that parking was available which is why we chose this accommodation but when we arrived, we were asked if we had reserved parking - the booking does not indicate that it had to be reserved. The desk staff was helpful and found us a parking spot a few blocks away but expected us to walk back from there (in the rain) with our luggage. Clarity in the booking would have helped. She then suggested that that we could pull up in front of the building - a no parking zone - and drop the luggage off . I said i was not going to leave the luggage on the sidewalk in the rain and come back for it - she was kind enough to take it up to our room for us .. but really a little more staff support would have been helpful.

Cold Room, Poor Service, and Misleading
I recently stayed at this hotel during a study trip to Melbourne and was very disappointed with the experience. On the first night, the room was absolutely freezing — the heating was not working at all. When I contacted the hotel, I was told that nothing could be done until reception opened the next morning. This was completely unacceptable, especially during cold weather.
Even after repairs were supposedly carried out on the air conditioning unit, the heating still didn’t work. It took considerable effort and time – which I couldn’t afford on a busy study schedule – just to get my room swapped. There was very little urgency or concern shown by the staff, which only added to the frustration.
Additionally, the hotel advertises that the property was constructed in 2020, which is clearly false. The building is noticeably old and outdated, and this kind of misleading information feels deceptive.
Overall, I would not recommend this property. Between the uncomfortable conditions, lack of timely support, and false advertising, the experience fell far short of expectations

Melbourne City Suites was ideal for a ‘hit and run’ visit to Melbourne. Its position is great to the work I was doing, facilities were all that I needed, it was particularly useful to have access to a washing machine, and there were great local options for dining.

Convenient location near tram stops and an easy walk to Southern Cross station. Easy check-in process and we were able to store our bags prior to check-in and after check-out. The suites are located on floors within the Mantra building but that doesn’t impact ease of finding them, check-in etc, just follow the instructions in the email received prior to arrival.

Not suitable if you're looking for a hassle free accommodation. I've booked 3 king beds & 1 twin bed rooms for 4 nights but even with the twin bed request, i was told by the hotel reception that it is their policy that we must inform again in the email they sent during pre-check in.
The reservation team did not tell me through the phone and in the email that I was suppose to do that and I came to check in with 4 king bed rooms. I requested it during check-in again & was assured that it will be done the next day but it was not & I had to wait till the 3rd day till its done. My guest had to sleep 1 on the bed and 1 at the living room sofa for 2 nights because of the incompetence of the whole team. Wasted so many back and forth calls just to make sure it was done.
Worse still. they are charging me with AUD20 for the twin bed because of their mistake. In short, everything here was a nightmare, NOT FUSS FREE & HASSLE FREE except for its location & spacious room.
Gave my Australian number to 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE on the spot thru the phone & told them to call me by that number but until now that I've checked out, these 3 people still called me thru the wrong number even though it is a call back within 10mins. I truly cannot understand why.
