Poor customer service.
The online check-in system didn’t work, and because reception is unmanned I had to call staff to help me access my key. Instead of helping professionally, the staff member was rude and blamed me for not following instructions. They never acknowledged the issue with their system.

I received several emails and texts about checking in, with confusing and contradictory information. The final text had clear, easy instructions that worked perfectly.

The apartment itself was comfortable, with all the expected furniture and kitchenware, but some kitcheneare was on shelves way above my head. Good thing I did not need to use those items.

The location was excellent, and perfect for my trip. I will definitely be staying there again.

We were quite surprised with the 1 bed apartment. It was spacious, clean, quiet and it had everything we needed. Even had an internal
Washing machine.
The location was brilliant. Right in the centre of cbd . We heard very little traffic noises.
The checkin staff were lovely to deal with.
Building secure.
Highly recommend and we look forward to returning next time we are in Melbourne.

Thoroughly enjoyed being in Melbourne city centre. The apartment is very comfortable. The bathroom shower recess needs a good scrub. Had an issue with the check in app. Can be tricky if it's after hours & your app isnt down loading as the reception is inattended. There is however, a phone number.

Location was fantastic. Apartment was roomy and comfortable but getting a little tired. Shower was hot and good water pressure. There was dust on the dining chairs and the shower grout while clean was definitely showing its age but this wasn’t a big deal.

I would definitely stay there again next time I’m in Melbourne

The digital key system did not work, the reception desk closes between 11 and 2, on the day of check in several others booked in along with myself were left waiting for an hour until someone turned up to do check in. Several of those guests waiting called the contact number and we were told to have patience and someone was on way. The person that turned up apologised as management did not roster someone for that afternoon. The common areas were dirty, the room was dirty, crumbs throughout the kitchen cupboards, shower was mouldy and smelt poorly. Overall a poor experience and won’t be staying again.

Two night Melbourne stay

I be lived my two night stay at Urban apartments. It was my first stay there. I have stayed at many places in the city. This was a two night stay. Reception is not available between 11-2 so make sure to check in when they are there. I had to store my bag at a ezymart around the corner . However in checkout the next morning they were happy to keep my bag. It was lovely to have a small pound and separate bedroom space with two tvs. Small kitchen and dining table and utensils for cooking. Comfortable bed. My room faced Elizabeth st and had a great view. Not noisy with the windows closed. The bathroom was completely function, however struggled to get the water an even temp. Tiling in bathroom could do with an upgrade. Room was very clean except for lots of dust behind furniture so maybe the room needs a deeper clean every now and again. Very convenient location right in the center of the city. Would definitely stay again.

We found the location was very good as situated in central melbourne and we were able to self cater food.Unfortunately the temperature in the unit was too hot,we could not turn down and asked desk to do,had to open window which meant being woken early hours with street noise. aslo washing machine could not open due to prior handle broken. Housemaid managed to open door and we dried clothing on supplied rack. comfortable bed and great lounge area.

The location is superb with public transportation, shopping and eateries all within easy walking distance.

Our 1BR apartment is spacious with lots of storage space and is exactly like what was shown in the website. The kitchenette is useful for preparing light meals.

Bathroom came equipped with a washing machine and extra toilet rolls were provided in an upper cabinet. Clean bath towels and toiletries are available upon request similarly with housekeeping.

The only complaint we have is the hot water which is difficult to regulate.

For the price of my room I really wasn’t expecting a lot but was so pleasantly surprised. The room was big with everything I needed, the welcome treats were an added bonus and the bed was comfy, right on Elizabeth so close to all transport, some great malls and food places.

The room did have aircon but it was set to 22, being from Wellington I would have liked it a bit colder to sleep but the control wouldn't let me lower it, the shower could do with a mould spray but honestly I can’t complain the room was great.

Check in was quick and easy with mobile key app. A real bonus as we arrived late at night and were able to go straight up to our room without having to faff about.

The air con was not working properly which meant we couldn’t turn it off and it defaulted to being 22 degrees which meant I was freezing all the time. I would adjust it to higher so I wasn’t cold but it kept blowing all night which kept waking me up. And then would reset to 22 degrees

Don't touch - just find another place

I had the most bad experience in my travel life, when arrived to the hotel at 8:10pm, to understand that at 8pm the reception closed and they simply canceled my 5 days reservation which I made a few months ago! Leaving me and my wife to find alternatives so late. Someone came to open only after more than an hour of begging and refusing. It is very sad to find tgis sort of behavior for customers

The property's location is handy, but after checking in we were told there wasn't any working airconditioning in the rooms, or the building. Someone had supposedly tried to repair it that morning, unsuccessfully. We should have been told of this before our arrival, so we could've made other plans. It was too late to do so by the time we arrived. It was a 38C day, and the one pedestal fan in our room was next to useless. Otherwise, in general, the room was okay, although the furniture was quite dated and basic - not like in the photos. Whatever our VIP bonus was supposed to be, we certainly weren't offered it. Wouldn't stay again, as the attitude of the management when I wrote to them was very uninterested. They were not ever going to offer any compensation. I'd highly advise not staying at Urban Apartments.

Excellent Apartment Stay in the Heart of Melbourne

I am usually pretty critical when it comes to hotel stays, but I really enjoyed this overnight stay in the Melbourne CBD. I had to get the attention of staff to open the door and they are only there at certain times of the day, but they were very pleasant and helpful. The room was excellent. They admitted an issue with the central air conditioning, but they had something in place that was sufficient to deal with this. There were loads of amenities in the room, including a full kitchenette, washer/dryer combo machine, and supplies for both. They also suppplied some snacks for the stay and plenty of towels. The only issues I had were with the sink in the bathroom as it was spitting some water at me at times, a loose toilet seat (which was quickly remedied by tightening the screw underneath), and the soap rack in the shower as it was loose. The shower could do with some a minor modernizing, but it was still in great condition.

It was an excellent stay in as central a location as possible within Melbourne.

Air con wasn’t working for the duration of our stay (with < 30° temperatures) and we were not told before our arrival. We were given a fan that did not work well as a substitute and offered a small refund which took 5 days to be processed. The windows were also locked so we had no ventilation. The receptionist dressed unprofessionally in a crop top and we saw her stop mid check-in to reply to a text on her mobile phone. The phone in the room was also broken so we could not contact reception.

Was not a great stay. Only positive was the location. Air con was not working and we were not notified until we arrived. We were advised by other residents that the air con had not been working for the last two weeks. Room was extremely hot and uncomfortable for the night.
We were then only offered a $40 refund which was insulting and was not enough compensation for an uncomfortable stay

This property has had a lot of issues with air conditioning not working at all over 12 months and it looks like they haven't been fixed in all that time.

Didn't know about this until we arrived for check-in and it was too late to rebook with another hotel. It's also not staffed 24 hours of the day, so better not lose your key or need something in the middle of the night. The rooms were big and well equipped but the toilet and bathroom are in need of upgrade. If the air con is working, this is at best a three star hotel, but if the AC isn't fixed, I would avoid it in the height of summer.

There are only two positive aspects of this property: the friendly reception staff and the convenient location. Unfortunately, the quality of the rooms leaves much to be desired.

Despite being assured of a \"deep clean,\" my room was still unclean on a second attempt. Thick dust coated the picture frames above the bed (which I had to clean myself), and there was a gap in the bathroom between the bath and shower that had clearly been neglected for some time—alive bugs included (I cleaned this too). The carpets were littered with stuck-on gum and food, the sofas were stained, and the fridge area had not been cleaned in ages. The curtains were falling down (unfortunately, I didn’t photograph this), and the bath plug was unusable as its seal had completely disintegrated.

To make matters worse, one cleaning staff member displayed unprofessional behavior, directing their stress at me as a guest. When I raised concerns, I was met with the response: \"We are understaffed, so what do you want? Now or tomorrow?\" This confrontational attitude was entirely inappropriate. While I understand they were facing staffing challenges, this is not something a guest should have to endure.

Overall, this was a highly disappointing stay. I wouldn’t stay here again and strongly recommend spending an extra $50–$60 for a proper hotel experience elsewhere.

Aircon on 10th floor wasn’t working - horrible night’s sleep due to hot/stuffy room as well as only a top sheet on mattress (no mattress protector too) so sheet kept slipping mouldy/dirty bathroom. Moved to 7th floor- great aircon but dirty/mouldy bathroom and air vents. Reception staff were great at sorting issues out but disappointed that these issues were there to start with. Certainly made for an interesting stay.
