The room was nice had it not been next to a night club that kept us awake until 4am every night. The halls and elevator smelt strongly of cigarettes. Furthermore, the manager was very intimidating and at the end of our stay we had misplaced one of our access cards and he got mad and made us transfer him $100!!!! He also made a comment asking why we washed our bed sheets (my friend and I fake tanned) which made us feel like we were being watched. Will definitely not be staying at The Town Apartments again.

Great value apartment accommodation right in the heart of Melbourne. Far from luxurious but solid, honest & clean property and the beds are super comfy. Main concern is that it is very noisy outside with an outside music venue only a few doors up playing VERY load until midnight. Car parking is only a 50m walk from the apartment

A perfectly located loft style apartment; perfect for travellers who want a bit of space but somewhere centrally located. There is no reception so we needed to email the property the day before to tell them our arrival time. The apartment was clean and had lovely views of China town and the Melbourne skyline. Became worried when earplugs were thoughtfully supplied; turns out the bar down the alley can get a bit noisy, but the noise during the week was over not long after 11pm. My friend and I frequented the bar during our stay anyway. Would definitely stay here again mid week but might look else where over the weekend. Perfect for a midweek getaway for a couple of night.

The property itself was fine. The major issue was noise. With a nearby nightclub operating until 3.30 am we got very little sleep and although this is beyond management's control, given that we paid $350 for one night's accommodation this was unacceptable. There were ear plugs left in a container on the kitchen bench suggesting that management are aware of the problem however this did not alleviate the issue.

Area is a touch seedy with lots of people on corners smoking pot and I as a single woman felt ill at ease walking back late at night. Otherwise apartment was ok. I stayed at the town apartments for a weekend get away with my partner and another couple. The apartment is located right in Chinatown which is bustling place until the early hours of the morning. An easy to walk to restaurants, shops, markets and cafes and also Melbourne's trams.
Overall the apartment was comfortable and had a kitchen with good WiFi.
There was some noise throughout the night from the nightclub next door, the provided earplugs blocked out the sound enough for a good night's sleep.

The hotel was great. It was a small apartment but it was clean and modern. It was in a great location for the Melbourne night life scene. Unfortunately the elevator broke shortly after our arrival which was an inconvenience as someone who was staying with me could not walk the stairs and had to find other accomodation. Overall I was happy with the apartment and would stay again.

It was great to receive a message to say we could access the property early. Excellent security and amazingingly very quiet. Extras like coffee machine, free wifi and Netflix was a lovely surprise. Beds and pillows very comfortable too.

we stayed here after I had an operation. It is in the middle of China Town so the restaurants were very close at hand. The apartment was very nicely furnished and the bed was wonderful. There was everything you could need on hand. There was cable TV and a host of other things. We could really put our feet up and relax. The only down side was the noise from nearby nightclubs...it was a Friday night though. If we stay there again ,and I think we will, I am taking earplugs.I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to be close to everything that Melbourne has to offer... We are a family with two young kids. The facilities of the apartment suited our needs with microwave oven, cooking facilities and laundry. The location is great although situation in a dodgy, dirty alley. Unfortunately the apartment smells like cigarette, don't think they can do anything about it though. Also can be noisy at night with the doof doof music.

Lift breaks down twice in one day
We got stuck in the lift twice in one day, morning and at night, for a total of 2.5 hours. Technician couldn't get into the building as no key was available. As a result had organised for someone to help carry our bags down 3 flights of stairs, but that person arrived late. We had already done it and had left by then to catch our flight..

Excellent location and the beds are fantastic. Nice to have reverse cycle airconditioning in 2 rooms and Netflix is great for the kids. The coffee pod machine was a nice touch to the place along with good finishings around the rooms. Having a nice chairs and tables in the main bedroom was nice to take in the views during the day and night.

Overall it was pleasant and I would stay there again. Room was a little dusty and the bed was so soft. The lift always smelt like cigarettes. Given our stay was for a week we could have done with a mid-week freshen up like replacing the towels and emptying the rubbish but it effectively wasn't serviced. Not a big issue as we took the rubbish out and washed the towels ourselves with the free washing machine and dryer. Fantastic location and reasonably cheap given it is modern inside.

If you like sleep don't stay here. Street noise felt like it was in the room. Music and drums from the clubs reverberates through the walls. The drunks walking past feel like they are in your room. As soon as music finishes around four am the rubbish truck crushes glass bottles right under the window - no sleep at all. Double glazed windows are probably needed for the location. Great apartment for those just wanting to party at night and sleep in the day. Unfortunately we were told that we had car parking, only to show up and have nothing organised. We called the manager number and were told we would be called back - still waiting.

We stayed 4 night with our family of 4 (kids 4 and 2). Close walking distance to shops and cafes and easy to use public transport. The apartment was very new and fresh and had been fitted out well. NETFLIX was great for the kids. Will definitely consider next time we are back in Melbourne.

Amazing apartment right in the heart of Melbourne
This City Edge Apartment was a perfect pit stop for all the shopping trips we did over our stay in Melbourne. Situated at the beginning of Chinatown and a minutes walk away from Bourke Street Mall, shopping was made easily accessible. Being meters away from major tram stops also made further outskirts of Melbourne easy to get to. The apartment itself was impressive, offering a galore of clean and high grade facilities among which included comfortable beds, Netflix, and even a coffee machine, it was very tempting to just hang at the apartment. It is exactly as pictured, decor very modern and stylish. The staff were very friendly also, we were able to drop off our luggage before check in as the manager himself was tidying up the place before we had checked in. The only downfall we saw was that being above a bar and a karaoke bar, it was very noisy up to 3am sometimes later, bring earplugs of you're a light sleeper. Being in an alleyway, the sounds of the garbage truck were amplified early in the morning. I didn't have a problem as I'm used to sound but both my sisters were not accustomed to it and their sleep was disturbed. I'd highly recommend this of you were after a great location and a private apartment. Just beware of the noise late at night and early morning.

City edge is located right in the city centre so its a great location however its right next door to a popular nightclub/bar so the noise makes it hard to get to sleep at night and then the rubbish truck comes by at 6am and collects skips of glass bottles which are very noisy because the walls/windows are paper thin. The Tv with Netflix was good and the bathroom was nice but overall we had a lamp and an element that didn't work and the floor in the bedroom was really dusty.
