This hotel has a nice set up. Big clean rooms, good location, very clean, nice amenities and well maintained. The issue I had was that there seemed to be no thought given to how to arrange the guests within the hotel. I was on a floor with the vast majority of guests being adult, solo travellers or couples. Two families with young children were plonked in the middle of us all. Being woken up by screaming kids running up and down the corridor banging on doors at 7am is not Ok. Particularly if you are getting in at 4am. I did not get more than four hours sleep the whole trip due to the endless noise. Complaints were made to the parents and the front desk but absolutely nothing changed. Next time I will look for an adults only hotel or at least somewhere that has the common sense to keep solo travellers and families separate. Nice hotel but my experience here was awful. Also check-in took an absolute age, way too slow compared with most other hotels.

Being staying on & off for 10 years now , great location right on the beach rd , beautiful swimming pool & the front of hotel , there is a 2nd pool there to but work being carried on it , I stayed here last year & since that time the rooms on the 7th floor have all been updated to a high standard, maybe all the floors have been renovated but cannot day , well worth the money

Noisy hotel and unrespectful staff

Bad check in behaviour by receptionist. They always play being busy even though they have nothing to do. Noisy rooms at night and I couldn’t sleep. The breakfast is crawded and staff need behaviour course and training. The internet not working. No towels at swimming pool.

Nice hotel...close to the beach..

This is the eighth time we stayed at A-ONE Hotel...I personally loved the old wing because most of the rooms are sea-facing .. great ambience, neat and clean and spacious rooms....reasonably priced....very appropriately placed...walking distance from restaurants and groceries and shopping places...
And twenty-four hour wifi...No wonder we keep going back again and again
Only feel ...that the staff should be educated a little more in English because most of the time they don't understand what you are saying...

I rated this as terrible the other week because the aircon and plumbing did not work and the staff didn't seem to care. I have increased the rating slightly this time because the aircon did work. Unfortunately the shower still suffered from the exceedingly short time before the water went cold so, if you are a couple synchronised speed showering would definitely be worth practising before arriving here and I think the goal should be set at under a couple of minutes. its sister hotel, the A-One Star is considerably cheaper, utilises the same facilities AND has working showers, plus aircon. Useful tip there.

Final time at this hotel

on the recommendation of my wife, who with her family has been coming to this hotel over a number of years, I booked a stay of one week. It has been a disaster from start to finish. It started on arrival, having booked a room for 3 adults we ended up being given a put up bed designed for a child of maximum age 10. This was never satisfactorily resolved but then neither were any of the other issues. The shower would suddenly go cold after about 1 or 2 minutes and although they sent someone to have a look that is exactly what they did. Just looked!
The same with the air con in the room. It never worked properly and again the person arrived at the room and just looked at it. We did spend a night at the A-One Star hotel which is on the same site, considerately cheaper and the shower and air con worked perfectly. My recommendation to others is if you are going to choose this hotel take the budget option. You will have a better stay than at the New Wing. We have decided never to stay in this hotel again, and will be moving to the Mercure tomorrow.

Wouldn't stay here again.
There policy is to charge you $30 if you bring anyone into your room.
They look to make money off everything and jack up prices of tours, telephone calls, etc...
Their exercise room has poor wifi service and I was often unable to access music while working out.
This was the worst place I stayed at during my vacation

An overall disappointing stay. On booking there was no mention that there were 2 of the 4 pools closed and one of them only had 3 beds to sit on around the pool. My wife asked reception and was told that they didn't think they needed to as 2 more were available, but the website and photos show the main pool. Breakfast service was poor in general, some days more than others and the staff not too attentive. There were loads of very noisy Chinese around until the Mon/Tuesday then everything went quiet after they checked out, then on the last night the noise returned with a group of Indians and were loud and noisy for 2 nights. On calling reception to complain as it was waking my son and my wife was not able to sleep, no action was taken. I stayed in this hotel some years back and things were ok then, everything seems to have gone down hill, not coming back!

Stayed 1 night. A room was okay but a wall between rooms was so thin that you can hear TV sound next door. If you don't like a hotel targeting tour groups then this hotel is not for you. The best thing of this hotel is location, just a short walk to the beach.

Hotel on the beach, has good pools and good gym

On paper good but two things. Showers still have a mind of there own. Often water stops half way through. This was same previous visit.
It seems they are now concentrating on large group tours which are either Indian or Chinese. Unfortunately these groups tend to have conferences between themselves at 2 or 3 in the morning on the tiled hall ways. Their voices are very loud and no consideration for other guests. It's part of business but these groups detract from other guests and as such would not go back.

Hotel has great location, on the beach, all amenities are good. The moans are firstly the reception staff! If you are lucky one out of the three on duty speak a little English. Very frustrating trying to get something solved. A smile would be nice.
As all the hall ways are tiled you do have an amplification of hall way noise. When groups of travellers congregate in the hall way to discuss there arrangements for the day at 6AM, its a pain.
Hotel is very good value for money, its reasonable clean, just a little tied as you would expect.
Overall would rate it 3.5 and would stay there again

In a word - AWFUL!
This hotel is the worst design I have ever seen anywhere in ASIA or globally. The design is ridiculous for a beach side hotel. Forget the cruise/ship marketing - this is a disaster! Four buildings each with four sides in a rectangle. so 8 sides will always face each other - no views. 2 more sides on the back 2 buildings face away from the beach there's 10 sides that have not a single chance of a sea view.
Next the front is all the stupid bow of a ship, so no real rooms with a view there - so another two sides have little or no views. So there we have it. 16 sides and only 4 have any views of the ocean or remotely beach front.
Service is non- obvious - short, snappy and didn't care, even if they could understand another language and most people did not seem to.
Wont be going back - big disappointment.

Booked 2 superior rooms via Expedia mobile app 2 weeks before the trip, received email from Expedia stating everything is confirmed and no need to call hotel for confirmation. The app or the hotel website do not offer special request such as double bed or twin bed although email from Expedia stated special request can be access from the given link/website. At the end, I got to search for the hotel email to request for bed type and connecting room or side by side room as we are travelling with children. But the email response from hotel was slow, and simply responded with a statement of \"No Connecting room\", I replied to ask side by side or opposite room, but no response thereafter!

When checked-in, the front desk officer could not find my booking, only after more than 30 mins they found it ! what a service level.

The hotel room quality is satisfactory, but if you don't like to stand on the bath tub with a shower curtain to shower, then this is not the room for you.

Breakfast - very little choice, good thing is you can order for Cappucino or Latte. It is over price, about 600B for adult and 400B for children.

One of the worst hotel i had ever stayed in.

They don't even let my friend's car turn in to the front lobby to fetch me after my check out. I had to carry all my luggage and walk to the side road. I really cannot understand why they still refuse to let my friends car go in.And i told them is my friend coming to fetch me. Crazy hotel I need to an extra 1000 baht to bring a friend to my room. This hotel only care for the tour groups that come in buses.

Main wing is old & need some renovation. For example tv is very old, very small & in very odd direction of the bed. Room does not have extra plugs. Elevator does not have aircon. Staff is very nice & cooperative. Very nice location. Overall 6 nights stay was nice.

I was in Pattaya in December 2014. My daughter and I was staying at Holliday Inn. We walked pass by A-One Royal Cruise Hotel. My daughter told me,\"can we stay there next time we're in Pattaya?\"
I said yes!!! In January 28, 2015. I took my son to Pattaya and decided to stay at A-One Royal Cruise Hotel.
I was extremely disappointed!!! The room is very very old, it need to be update. The wifi in the room doesn't work. I told the front desk couple times about it.. She told me it should work.. But never work, I have to come down to the lobby to get wifi. I asked a few guests in the lobby.. They told me the same things. Hotel employees are very polite. The location is excellent!!!

The hotel itself is nice, staff is ok (no different than most hotels in Thailand), location is excellent. The room was large and clean, but needs some updating especially in the bathroom (lots of mold around the tub). Large swimming pool and the hotel is right across the street from the beach.

It is a very nice concept hotel but the staff are very slow in dealing with check ins. Moreover, after we move everything into our room, one of the receptionist call to request us to pay our hotel bill NOW! We wasn't happy with that as we thought most of the hotel will want us to make payment after we check out and this is so unproffessional. The size of the room is a real disappointment. The reason why we ordered a family suite is because the entire family is going over there. However, the size of the room we were given was as big as a twin bedroom hotel that we stayed in Bangkok. Besides it is convenience to all the amenities and the concept of the hotel, I can't think of any pros of this hotel.

A1 Songkran Visit

The kids had returned to Canada so we decided to spend a few Songkran days in Pattaya & chose the A1 Royal Cruise. Overall we found it to be quite nice. Excellent location. We noticed that the front desk ladies in the New Wing where we stayed were not quite as happy to see visitors as perhaps other places. The maid service & pool staff were wonderful, very cheerful & happy. The room could use a solid sweeping but as for amenities we are thoroughly impressed. Beds, pillows, aircon were great. Only 2 English channels but we don't watch much anyway. We very much enjoyed our stay & will most likely return. We did not have an opportunity to eat at any of the restaurants on the property but they all looked wonderful. A very successful business venture for certain & they are building more nearby.

A one felt like a lively family hotel. It's bang off the beach ie the Pattaya beach road and its location makes it safe to walk around, enjoy the beach and eat local food and shop. For us language was an issue in communicating with the staff but they are largely courteous and helpful and we enjoyed the food at the hotel too. Pattaya beach and sea is quite placid so it seems very safe for kids to take to the water. We introduced our 2.2 year old to the sea here and I would like to go back.

The poolside buffet dinner is fully occupied of travel group tourist, mixed up dining with hotel check-in guests. Food choices are very limited, sea food and cooking style are not up to 4 star standard. Not recommend for dining in hotel. Rather, u may get many better choice along beach road. If you a looking f convenient location and beach view, it shall be the right choice.

Despite repeated contact with front desk we never consistently had hot water, middle of a shower water would just stop flowing from hot water system. Cost of in room hifi quoted at about an additional 30% of room rate. I don't understand how any hotel with this \"star\" rating can not have free in room wifi which is increasingly essential to maintaining today's recreational, business and financial needs. Would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone I liked! Does have best buffet in town of 4 we tried.

Location and stay very enjoyable, Believe breakfast could be more geared for full English. Pool closing at 17:00 hrs is far to early should be 20:00. I know this is for buffets during evening, put I like to lay next to pool later that 17:00. Also should be some seats on balcony's. But saying would stay there again. the seafood buffet was good value and excellent.

I have stayed in this hotel in Oct 2009 and had a good experience. i saw a lot of negative reviews on all portals regarding this hotel but choose to ignore it and booked it on basis of my past experience. Thailand is called land of smiles but i guess this hotel does not belong to Thailand as no one smiles here and the staff is very rude and arrogant. we were supposed to get our rooms at 2.00 but we got it at 3.30. we had to kill time in hotel lobby. we saw lots of visitors fighting out during checking in and checking out procedures. for one of the room they even entered the room with master key and started cleaning the room for next guest to accomodate without the owner of the room checking out. the guests were red faced and started shoughting from rooftops but the hotel staff were shameless. we also asked the hotel reception to give us an extention of checkout time on our last day to 3.00pm as we have got our room late on first day. they bluntly refused to agrre that we got our room late and said that they will charge for extra day if we checked out after 12.00. please avoid this hotel and go to any other hotel in pattaya.

Superb hotel , very big and attractive.The rooms are well designed and has good quality of customer service provided. Insisted to opt for the room in old wing of hotel as it has pool side and beach side view.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL!!!

Do not even know where to begin. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel.I first walked into the room and thought well this is not to bad then I seen the bathroom. It was disgusting. There was mold all over the tile and the tub had huge chips taken out of it all over. We complained and was told there was nothing they could do for us. Then later that evening we had a friend come from Bangkok and she stopped to say hello. When I got a call from the hotel staff asking how many people I had in my room. I told them and they said we were not aloud to have guess at all in our room at any time unless we paid 1000 baht. I asked them where it says this and they told me it was hotel policy. I complained to the manager that this is crazy to not be able to have a guess in my room for 20 minutes and I told her I would have never booked here if I would have known they had such a policy. They did not have it posted any where in the hotel or on their web site. The next incident was seeing 3 COCKROACHES in 2 nights. They were coming from the drain in the bathroom. Again they said there is nothing they could do. Never had a cockroach in my hotel room before and it sucked makes you feel dirty. Then we were getting in the elevator and the security guard asked my wife what are you looking at. I could not believe what I heard. Told the manager and she told me sorry and would have a talk with him. Never had been so insulted and felt so uncomfortable in my life at a hotel. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD AT A HOTEL. TRUST ME AND TAKE MY ADVICE DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL EVER!!!!

Fantastic stay but needs some improvement

I have a few suggestions. The variety of food for vegetarian was very limited. The Breakfast spread was good but needs some improvement. The Hotel staff needs to be little aware of the local sight seeing and options to be given to first timers. Some of the staff were little rude which should be taken care off.

Do not stay in the New Annex of the hotel

The noise from the night club aft of the annex was extreamly loud up until 3am nightly.

If you intend to go to bed early this is not where you want to be...

Great location: Poor customer service

The hotel itself wasn't too bad. The rooms were clean (our smelled like cigarettes on the non-smoking floor, but not terrible), and the hotel pool was really nice. The hotel was literally across the street from the beach, and about a 2 km walk to the walking street (really fun, we highly recommend going there!!).
We would stay here again, BUT for anyone looking for ANY type of answers for ANYTHING from the staff.... don't waste your time. The staff was terrible. No one knew where any stores were around the hotel or how even to hail a cab. 2 major examples: We wanted to get our hair cut and when we asked the customer service person where to find a place to cut hair, he had no idea. After walking around for a while, we finally found one. It turns out, there was one IN the hotel that he didn't even know about. Second example, upon checking out, we asked for them to call for a cab to get us to the bus station, and they said they didn't know the phone number to the cab company. We had to walk with 3 bags down to the beach (1 block), stand on the sidewalk until we could hail a tuk-tuk to get us to the bus station.
Other than the customer service (Truly awful!!!), this was a good place to stay, and we might actually stay here again just because of the location.
