Forget Mitte! Prenzlauer Berg is a better neighborhood and the Holiday Inn there is a superb hotel. Our room was spacious, featuring a desk, cabinets, and a large flat screen TV. The bathroom was also large and the rain shower was a welcome perk. Staff are attentive, friendly, and professional. (I appreciate their patience with my imperfect German, though of course they speak impeccable English.) Next time I’m in Berlin, I’ll stay here!

The hotel was fine. However on the Hotels.com website it states and has pictures that you have a restaurant. As staying only one night and getting in early evening I was wanting to eat at the hotel restaurant that was one of the reasons we booked this hotel. However I was advised by the receptionist that the restaurant only did breakfast. This is not clear on the website, so made a big impact on my stay.

Transport links make this a great spot to see the sights of Berlin. Hotel really smart and not too busy (when we went at least). Reception 24/7 and they swapped our room service for free drinks at the bar as we were only staying 2 nights which was a nice touch. Highly recommend!

Great access to transportation (M2 tram) and S-bhan (Prenzlauer Allee), shops, restaurants and safe area. Hotel breakfast worth the price and rooms are clean and well kept. We stay here while visiting family who live nearby.

This is a great hotel in a great neighborhood. You can easily access the heart of Berlin from here using the M2 Tram, M10 tram rail or S. clean rooms and very clean bathrooms and great buffet breakfast.
Even with all the Covid protocols we felt safe and enjoyed the hotel and our trip.

Not pet friendly, only dog friendly

They said they are pet friendly and upon booking I immediately followed up with a message about bringing a pet (cat). They confirmed for a reasonable fee of 20€ this was no problem, this was a week before arriving. After 12pm noon on the day I’m to arrive (ten minutes before boarding my plane) I get a message in German that my pet will not be allowed to stay. A notification this late in the booking, after giving confirmation the pet was allowed, is unacceptable. I made other arrangements for our pet, luckily I had someone in Berlin who could help me. Upon arrival they put us in a room that was not two twin beds as was booked. All of these issues were again raised by me at time of check-in and there was no effort for an apology or explanation by management (the woman checking me in was nice, but unable to assist further, and did fix the room type/bed issue). On check out they attempted to charge me for the pet I told them when checking in that I did not end up bringing. I asked for the manager who was proud to tell me he was such but offered excuses upon hearing my concerns. So I simply left it there, however I do not feel good about how it was handled during the booking, during check in, during check-out, or by management.

The hotel is freshly renovated and in super nice condition. Everything was very clean and nicely cared for. The only downside of my stay was the incredibly hard mattress and uncomfortable pillows. If you are not a fan of an unforgiving mattress, this hotel is not for you! The pillows also should be exchanged for at least two choices of firmness and thickness. The room was very comfortable and didn't lack anything for a hotel of this category. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great. With the exception of the beds, I can highly recommend this place.

Good-sized rooms & comfy bed. Hotel needs updating, bit old fashioned. Fire alarm @ 3:30am leading to hotel evacuation left a slightly negative impression (not that the hotel was responsible for this - someone decided to push the button then scarper...).

Prenzlauer Berg as a neighbourhood is awesome & this hotel is perfectly located (from stepping off plane at Tegel, we were checked into the hotel within 45 minutes - bus 5 mins, train 10 mins, walk 5 mins). Very efficient & easy to find.

This hotel offers exactly what you’d expect from a Holiday Inn - a solid room at a fair rate, nothing more, nothing less.

Staff (both at reception and on the cleaning team) were very friendly and helpful, both the room and communal areas were pretty spotless and everything in the room itself worked. Beds were comfortable and the shower was decent.

It was slightly disappointing not to have a safe or a minibar in the room, though, both of which we’d have used. The room service/bistro menu was also quite poor. Breakfast wasn't included and pricey, too, so we ate at local cafés instead.

However if you want a good base for a stay in Berlin (right outside a tram stop, a 5 minute walk to a S Bahn station) the Holiday Inn’s a firm bet.

Hotel was ok - Ideal location for touring Berlin

The Holiday Inn is in a great location to visit the medical centre (opposite) and to visit the city with the tram line right outside the hotel which is a 10minute ride into Alexanderplatz, where all the main shops and tourist attractions are. The hotel reception staff were friendly and always happy to help. However, we requested a double bed and were given two twin beds and our room smelt of sewage upon arrival. This passed after a few hours but then returned half way through our stay. It wasn't just our room, every day you walked into reception there was a strong smell of sewage also.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn for two weeks, due to medical reasons and therefore were spending a lot of time at the hotel. We only had BBC World News to watch as everything else was in German but this was understandable, however, we were told that rest was needed after treatment but despite putting the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, some members of staff thought it was ok to still knock the door and on one occasion even open the door!

Overall we were disappointed with the hotel

One of the worse holiday Inn hotel I have ever been. Room facilities was not to the everage standard. During our 4 nights visit bedding not even changed once, no tea bags and when they provided no cups or milk. Asked for an iron twice two days and got it on the day after. Definitely not the standard you expect from a holiday Inn in Germany. Very disappointed.

We just came back from a wonderful stay at this Holiday Inn. To begin with, location, location!! The hotel is next to the tram and the subway is a short walk. There are shops, food restaurants and even a supermarket nearby. The hotel provides trains tickets (make sure you validate them in the train so you don’t get in trouble) at the counter which was very convenient. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The staff, at any time, day or night were humble and professional. For check-in we had to wait a bit, but that's fine because we understood that sometimes your room might not be ready. Check-out was a breeze and the taxi we requested was there in 5 minutes! This hotel is about 1/2hr. from Tegal airport and the cab-fare was only about 25.00/euros, not bad at all. Very pleased with the customer service and location of this hotel, would go back in an instance! One last note, if you love dogs, Berlin is for you! Just sitting in the lobby waiting for our rooms we saw 5 different breads walking. Nice!

Lovely Hotel with good location!!

Located in a quiet corner....you could take an evening stroll!! Netto is close by, and there are restaurants close by too...Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish etc. Very welcoming Staff. Staff spoke good English. My room was squeaky clean, and every facility worked well. Very lovely, powerful Shower, you`re supplied Shower Gels, with a big Tub on the Shower holder!! Good variety to choose from for Breakfast (Buffet style). This Hotel is centrally located, as you can get the TXL Bus from Tegel Airport to Beusselstrasse Train Station, where you can get the S Bahn Train S42 to Prenzlauer Allee. You could either walk (turn left outside the Station), it`s about 5-7mins walk straight down the road, or cross the road and take the Tram M2 to Erich Weinert Strasse (next stop), then cross the road, and you`re there!! Every member of Staff was pleasant!! Why have i given it a 4* and not a 5? There`s no microwave!! There`s a very little fridge though, but it holds almost nothing. Lots of TV English speaking Channels to choose from (including BBC, CNN, Aljazeera, Russian TV).Please note you`ll be requested to pay a 5% Local Tax!! Tram M2 outside the Hotel gets you to Alexanderplatz where you have loads of places to eat and Shop, it`s about 15mins. A lovely, very clean Hotel, with delicious Buffet Breakfast (lots to choose from). I would recommend this Hotel without any hesitation for singles, couples and families with children.

I also did not expect a shower curtain but a shower door in a 4-star hotel.
The airconditioning was very noisy when used on the maximum setting.

I stayed with my daughter for 9 nights. We were on vacations. We are really pleased with the attitude of the front desk staff: ready to answer our questions and to help us to get to the different places we scheduled for each day. And, they speak fluent English and Spanish! Excellent.
We cannot say the same about the small room 209 with a small open closet basically to hang clothes, no drawers. The room it's O.K. just for a couple of nights for a single person. On the bright side, beds were good, the room was very quite making possible to have a sound sleep, and it had coffee and tea. However, 7 out 10 days, they forgot to leave tea in the room. Despite our requests, 3 out of 5 lights in the bathroom kept going on and off like in a disco! And when we returned the 3rd night we found out that our room was just like we left it in the morning!!
Location of the hotel is excellent with the M2 Tram right at the door and a S Bahn Station 3 blocks away. Tickets for 1, 3 or 5 days are sold in the same hotel. Fantastic. Many places such as Alexander Platz are at walking distances but not in winter since is gets too cold.

We were a couple of miles out from Alexanderplatz, but the trams were every 5 minutes, simple to use and very reliable. We bought a day ticket which covered trams and trains; really good way to get around the city and all for about €6.00. Hotel staff were really friendly and very helpful. Rooms were excellent, clean and had tea & coffee making facilities. This is ideal if you wish to travel to the hustle & bustle but get away in the evenings and start to unwind; loads of cafes and bars all serving excellent range of cuisine from standard German fair to vegan Vietnamese and everything in between. Try Spaghetteria Loreta VFM and fantastic food (all spaghetti!) and the Atlas bar, 2 really cool places to go to and all pocket friendly; drinks & food for 2 under €40.00. We will be going back next year

This hotel was great, lovely staff, great location close to trams and s-bahn. Room was very large, clean and comfortable. However, I would not recommend it as the wifi was terrible!! Very slow and would drop out often. I was in Berlin for business and so wifi was vital; so frustrating for a worldwide hotel in the best city in the world.

This holiday inn has a similar good standard and price to other holiday inn's I have stayed in. The only problem was it happened to be 90 degrees in the city and the \"air condition\" happened to be \"Broken\". The staff said it was getting fixed but it was not fixed during our stay. We had to sleep with the windows open and the street noise in the early morning was considerable. I recommend that if it is going to be hot during your stay, call before you book to see if the AC is working.

Otherwise, internet was great, staff was nice, and hotel was very clean.

Clean, friendly, conveniently situated hotel

This hotel is perfect for a tourist visit to Berlin. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room kept spotless. Easy access to travel, restaurants and cafes. Aircon in room struggled, but it was 38 degrees.
