Air conditioning lacking and poor service

Sadly, I cannot recommend this hotel. I was there at the end of August and it was hot. On check-in, I asked for a quiet room away from elevators and preferably at the end of a corridor. I asked twice and the woman ensured me the room would be quiet. Upon arriving at the room, I found it at the beginning of a very long corridor with lots of rooms after it, which meant a lot of people would be walking by at all hours. In addition, the room was hot, the air conditioning didn’t work, the fan for the air conditioning made a very loud noise, and the light in the entrance didn’t work. When I tried to call the front desk and housekeeping to report the problems, I found the phone didn’t work either. When I walked back to the front desk, I had to wait 10 minutes to be served (I waited 10-15 minutes every time I went to the front desk). They did give me a new upgraded room but their attitude was surly and there were no apologies or offer to help with my very heavy luggage. When I trekked to the new room, I found the key didn’t work, so had to return to the front desk, again carrying my very heavy luggage. Then, I waited for 10 min to get a new key. Again, no apologies or offers to help with my luggage. When I got into the room, the air conditioning barely worked. I complained and they said they would come but then never did. They gave me a free drink but I’d rather have had aircon. I asked several people in the hotel if their aircon worked and was told “barely” by all of them.

Unser Aufenthalt war leider sehr enttäuschend. Beim Check-in mussten wir lange auf unser Zimmer warten. Im Zimmer und an der Rezeption lag überall Staub auf den Dekoelementen – ganz offensichtlich wurde hier nicht gründlich gereinigt. Unser „Deluxe“-Zimmer war extrem klein und schlecht durchdacht: Der WC-Bereich war nur durch eine halbe Wand vom Schlafbereich getrennt. Wenn man nachts nur kurz ins Bad wollte, gingen drei Deckenlampen und ein lauter Lüfter automatisch an – das ganze Zimmer wurde hell erleuchtet, was sehr störend war, da wir für unser schlafendes Kind gerade Dunkelheit geschaffen hatten.

Die Klimaanlage hat kaum funktioniert, es war heiß und stickig im Raum, und die Fenster ließen sich wegen Kindersicherung nur ca. 10 cm öffnen. Im Duschbereich war deutlich Schimmel zu sehen.

Das Frühstück war sehr mager und jeden Tag exakt gleich. Für 3 Nächte mit Frühstück für 3 Personen haben wir fast 500 € gezahlt – dazu kam noch eine Steuer, die laut App bereits enthalten war.

Great overall stay. Great location for Alexanderplatz Christmas Markets. Friendly staff, but struggled for 10 minutes at check-in to find our booking which was via hotels.com. We were given a free early check-in, but was placed into a disability room for the week. This meant an open shower in the bathroom so the floor got very wet and no additional towel/ bath mat was provided. The bath towels are very very small! But the shower itself was powerful. The bed was very comfortable and a good size room. There was no lighting in half the room and no proper mirror in the room which was a shame. The bar area was lovely and service was brilliant.

Great place to stay very comfortable and an easy location to get around with transport nearby or short walk.Staff were fantastic the food was great and the bar was very nice.Being English it was a shame there was no tea making facilities in the room but the coffee machine was a great touch. Very easy for Alexanderplatz which has great transports links for all of Berlin. Plenty of bus and tram options or a short 18 min walk to Alexanderplatz.

The staff were helpful and I really loved the free bottled water left daily in the room. The air conditioning isn't great and only one of the windows opened so we couldn't fully take advantage of the cooler evenings.

The coffee machine is great but if you use milk there is only two sachets of unpleasant creamer, so maybe buy some milk and use the mini fridge to keep it cool.

We didn't have breakfast so I can't say if it was good or not, we felt it was a bit expensive.

Lovely hotel in a convenient location. Staff friendly. But disappointed on check-in that we were given two double-bedded rooms when had ordered one of them to be twin-bedded six months earlier. Was told that it was impossible to rectify this. But when I insisted a room with twin beds was found. So why wasn't I given this at the start?

Lovely hotel, perfect for a long weekend, the room was a bit small but excellent for 1 person and the breakfast was also great with a large selection buffet style. Make sure if your planning to have breakfast each morning, pay for it all upfront when you check in for $16 instead of $21 on the spot.

It’s not 5 stars hotel ! The cleaner did not clean the room properly also I can see something very dirty in my bed sheet which is not good and there was only one tissue left in the box , ( lazy cleaner ) first day I have a bottle of water and then the second no water ,

Very clean hotel in a central location.
Lovely hotel bar with reasonably priced and very nice cocktails!

Down fall is that we asked for a double bed but got a room with two singles which kept sliding apart. Also rooms were very hot and no AC to reduce the room temperature as on centralized control. Not to mention being outside a church with very loud bells ringing at various times in the day statting at 7am which would wake us.

Amazing breakfast buffet, small room

Although the room was quite small, we made do. We loved we could open the windows wide to let fresh air through, especially during this season when you want to ensure no germs are floating around. The highlight was definitely the breakfast buffet, that made up for any lack of space in the room. It was a proper thorough buffet with delicious options. We will be returning to stay here just for the buffet.

The only bad thing about the hotel was the church bext door ringing its bell every morning.
Service was very good, rooms were a good size. Check in and check out were seeemles. Very good location, 15 mins walk from Alexanderplatz, a main transport hub.

It is a tiny room with no soap for the bathroom sink, just an all-in-one soap in the shower. I was also placed on the second floor, and outside the window was the garbage, so I had a 6 a.m. wake-up call each day.

The most annoying thing to me was a single bed comforter on a queen-sized bed.

Staff were all very nice, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable and it was a good location and felt like a safe neighbourhood.

This hotel is clean and well maintained, and it is in a convenient location; unfortunately, the level of service and amenities is not corresponding to a 4 Star level at all - examples: only one free bottle of water upon arrival, or if the stay exceeds 5 days, this is simply annoying…; the room not even offers a pen and a notepad next to the phone; there is only one one big towel in the bathroom per person, no wash cloth…my feeling is that the management decided to save a little that way, and while this may work for the medium budget tourists who mostly seem to frequent this hotel, it is not adequate for a business traveller. The breakfast offers great variety, on the positive side, but the quality of the ingredients appears only as average. On a positive note, most of the staff is friendly and helpful.

Fine hotel but you some staff were quite rude and unhelpful (a few others were very friendly!). Reception was not friendly or helpful when I checked in, didn’t give me any information about breakfast, the gym, other amenities or things nearby etc. Later, I called reception to get a set of cutlery (there wasn’t even a spoon in the room) and a bowl to eat some food to which she replied I needed to come down and get it myself. I asked for the items in the very quiet bar and the waitress told me to ask in the restaurant rather than go fetch it herself. The lady in the restaurant greeted me with a frown and reluctantly came back with the cutlery and bowl. I asked for a glass of water in the bar another night and said tap water was fine, which the waitress (a different one) seemed annoyed about. She proceeded to less than half fill a small glass with water (so maybe 150ml?), so I asked if she could please fill it up more. She laughed and shook her head as if I was being ridiculous. I needed to take tablets and it wasn’t enough water but again she was quite rude about it. Other than that the hotel was in an okay location, not great but not terrible, about a 15 min walk to Alexander Platz. The gym was small but nice, the breakfast was decent and the hotel was decorated nicely. My room was a good size, even though it was at the front of the property it was quiet. Pillows were far too soft though and overall I didn’t sleep well. Overall a fine hotel but I wasn’t made feel very welcome.

Love this hotel. Have stayed multiple times over the past few years and it's even better since their stylish renovation. Super great value for the price. One of the more affordable hotels, and in a nice location next to a huge park Volkspark Friedrichshain that feels like a neighborhood, yet easy to access central parts of Berlin. The staff are always also very friendly.

At first sight when i arrived i expected a bigger room and a bigger bed but once i stayed there i loved every single detail they have and the staff was super friendly! The tv is connected with a casting so you can always be watching your tv show or any series online that’s what i did! I had a swimming competition and I stayed there last time and i did one of the best championships and this time it was the same and i qualified to worlds championship! so definitely i am coming back again! I feel it’s a good luck place to me!

The WiFi and the beverage offered in the room spoiled the stay. The WiFi is free because there is no obvious cost to using it. However, you have to sign up to Ts&Cs to use it and you have to agree to allow all cookies. It also cuts out if you were not using it for a few seconds. The beverage in the room was poor quality and very limited. The sort facility which an accountant would choose rather than someone with knowledge of food and drink.
We found that the staff were polite and helpful.

Nice and clean hotel

The hotel is nice, located not too far from Alexanderplatz. The room was not big, but quiet and clean. The bed was comfortable. The check-in and check-out was with no issues. The crew was polite and professional. The only problem we experienced was lack of parking spot for our car in the hotel's garage. We had to look for a parking space on the streets, surounding the hotel and it was not pleasant.

I like that it’s modern. We had to leave early but there was coffee and croissants we could take away with us on the way to the airport which was a nice touch. There never seemed to be any drinking water for guests, it always ran dry
