This hotel exceeded expectations, really nice vibe, only 25 minutes on the nearby tram to alexanderplatz. Perfect location near the lake which was a lovely walk to after a delicious breakfast. We arrived ready to leave our luggage and our room was ready so we get to check in at 1pm instead! I think we were just lucky but it was nice they let us in.

The shower head wasn’t working but we were fine with the bath function and alerted reception which took a note of it the following day so it didn’t really bother us as everything else was spectacular.

The hairdryer was also pretty decent for those planning on washing their hair!

Overall we really enjoyed it and the district was really pretty to walk around in with easy access to main sights.

Huge, clean room. gGeat for a family. Lots of space. High ceilings. Deck. Two TVs. Kitchen. bar seat. Great neighborhood. Very nice Biergarten on property. I highly recommend. It’s a little out of the way of Berlin marathon start and finish line which is why I traveled to Berlin but about a 30 minute uber ride or accessible easily by public transportation. The neighborhood was really quiet and green.

So glad we chose this hotel! It had everything we needed for the week we were there. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and the two free beers a day were an added bonus! Breakfast always had a great variety of options like scrambled eggs, different cheeses to select, sausages, fresh fruit and veggies, yogurt and great coffee/tea options. Anna is the bar server who is such a lovely person and she makes a killer mojito. The hotel is outdated but it's very clean and working in the pest control business, this was a huge must on my list! Over all our stay was wonderful and would recommend this hotel for your stay in Berlin.

We had reserved a business double room, which came with a little kitchen, a bathroom with a tub and a walk-in closet. It is a wonderful set-up if you do not want to eat out every night during an extended stay. It also had a balcony (we were on the street side), which can be very pleasant in nice weather. The only caveat was that the AC did not seem to work, which would be a problem in hot weather. Otherwise, it was a great place to stay.

This hotel is top drawer- beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable and charming. The gym was superb as well. I love the eco- consciousness on display everywhere - very smart and appreciated. My husband and I didn’t Europe trip for our anniversary and out of the 4 places we stayed, this one was definitely the best. It felt like home, and it was super convenient to walk everywhere in Amsterdam. My favorite part was the little details the hosts put in making this a unique place to stay. From their “in case you forgot box” to their detail to our anniversary. I would definitely go back and stay here. 10/10 recommend.

I chose this hotel because it was quite close to where our daughter lives and we're not 'city people'. It is situated by a small lake with a larger lake in a park nearby. We enjoyed walking around. There are trams and buses about 5 or 10 minutes walk away. It is peaceful and pretty.

The hotel foyer is impressive, and the front desk staff, especially, are helpful and kind. I appreciate the efforts the hotel makes for the environment and charity.

The bedroom was quiet, but we didn't sleep well. We arrived late and opened the big glass door onto the balcony for ventilation, and when we tried closing it, it came off its (inadequate) hinges. We were moved to another similar room. My husband found the bed uncomfortable, and we were too hot. The air conditioning was noisy and kept me awake. I plucked up the courage to press the buttons to lower the temperature and switch off the AC. My husband felt the room was claustrophobic, and I disliked how dazzling white the bathroom is when you need to use it at night. The balcony was peaceful and lovely.

There's a great choice of healthy and naughty but nice food at the buffet breakfast in a light, airy dining room. The cooked food could have been hotter.

We used the kettle but not the wee cooker, which was cramped but well-equipped. We never noticed a menu for the restaurant, and the gym and steam room were discretely sign-posted. We didn't visit them, we were too busy, out and about with our daughter. Thank you.

Business room with a single bed not a twin bed

The hotel has a nice lobby and it’s clean. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about the rooms, which look pretty old. I booked a room with a twin bed and at the end I was given a room with a very tiny one person bed. As I pointed that out and asked for a different room the receptionist said that that is what I booked. She didn’t even tried to give me any other option or even potential upgrade (for extra charge). As I finally checked my reservation it said that my booking was for one person but for a twin bed. A manager to whom I requested to speak, promptly solved the problem (thank you for that). But I didn’t even hear that she is sorry for the mistake. That would be actually nice. Apparently the description of the room in the hotel and in the app are not matching but this is clearly not a problem of a guest.

The room I got was a bit smelly, as someone had smoked in it and try to cover it with air freshener but at least the bed was fine. For two people it would be very cozy.

The way to the gym is very complicated. Bring some extra time with you. In general the staff wasn’t particularly friendly.

The rooms are a bit old. It’s the only one hotel in the area. It’s ok, to stay there without any expectations for a short time I guess. The hotel in my opinion is too pricy for that what it offers.

Beautiful Berlin suburb!

This was my first visit to Berlin as a tourist (I've visited for work once before). The location seems far away from many of the city's more famous attractions, but the integrated public transport is so good here, the centre is just a short tram ride away. The rooms are a little dated, but were spotlessly clean and I lucked out with a large suite, complete with mezzanine floor and balcony. The hotel has a great beer garden and the area around it is peaceful and green, just a short walk from the lake. Also highly recommended is the Jewish Cemetery, which is also incredibly close to the hotel. Although it's not a busy suburb, there were good restaurants within walking distance as well. My only issue is that I could not access wifi in my room, so that may be a deal breaker for some! It worked fine in the lobby, but if you come to Berlin and spend all your time in a hotel room, you're doing it wrong!

We were driving from Warsaw to Hamburg. The hotel was just a 1-night stop.
It was convenient, since we were close to the A10 highway and did not have to waste time in and out to Berlin downtown.
Hotel is ok. Clean, but dated and a little tired.

A solid choice

Overall it was a great hotel for a few week's stay in Berlin. Within a 10-15 minute walk to the Albertinenstrasse and Antonplatz tram stops you had access to groceries and other shops, some decent restaurants, and the tram to U and S Bahn stations to explore the city. The business/single room was spacious, with enough furniture, clean bathroom, and a balcony. The kitchenette (2 electric burners, microwave, sink, and mini refrigerator) was decent. I was able to have breakfast, pack a sandwich for weekdays, and once in a while make a few basic dinners instead of eating out every night. The staff were friendly and professional. The biergarten behind the hotel was pleasant, a local friend thought the prices were a little high but not outrageous. Weissensee park is lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

Avoid 529, avoid the male at reception!!

Although the reviews are great and location is nice we found the hotel about average at best, check in was completed by a very abrupt male who shouted every instruction at my husband although he was 1 foot away, and when he said something even ther my husband or I understood he shouted CARD!! CREDIT CARD!! Even louder.

We had abooked a double business room with city view and balcony, even called the hotel to confirm it, what we received was the darkest room with no balcony (529) facing a house wall and a tree!! Not expensive exactly a city view.

The room was dated, apart from a new picture, the bed okay but only one pillow each!! I asked the house keeper lady for an extra one but it disappeared the next morning?

The bathroom was very old, strange shower that you had to hold uproar gut with one hand as the head was at a strange angle.

Food we didn’t eat, breakfast we were quoted €15 each per day so declined as a coffee and croissant is all we would have had wasn’t worth it.

Overall for what we needed i.e. a bed and location it was okay, did we complain? Yes at first but as they said they were full and my husband checked for another hotel spending more money and not getting anything back here we just sucked it up.

We would book again? No.

Excellent hotel in Weißensee

Living Hotel Weißensee was perfect for our stay. Tucked away in a quiet street but with easy access to frequent trams and buses meant it was the ideal location for our visit. Having a room with a balcony overlooking the small lake and park to the rear of the building made for perfect surroundings for having breakfast in the sun.

Our room had a small kitchenette with fridge and cooker meaning basic self-catering would be possible.

The lovely touch of having a couple of bottles of beer and water topped up in the fridge each day was welcome.

The steam room facilities in the basement looked to be brand new. They were a great addition to our stay.

Staff were all lovely.

We would be very happy to return some time soon.

My friends live very close to the hotel - so it was perfect for visiting them - this was my second stay at this hotel. The room is comfortable with a great bathroom and a mini kitchen. The only downside for me this time was that my room didn’t have a sofa, which my room did last time. Staff are v helpful and polite and the bar has a good stick of gin!

Fantastic! The room was spacious even though it’s the cheapest, plus the room have a bath tub and a balcony with set of coffee table. LCD TV, aircond, carpet floor, and the best was their free smartphone for you to make free local/international calls and surf the internet all for FOC! Stay there for 4D 3N for less than £80 per night!

Excellent long weekend in Berlin

Great location with a tram stop in walking distance (7-10 minutes). Tram number 5 stops at Alexander Platz. The room has had plenty of space and modern facilities including a small kitchen The bed was very comfortable and we've have slept very well. WiFi worked without problems. A Netto discount supermarket just 2-3 minutes down the road. Parking is difficult on the road. You'll probably need to pay for parking under the hotel.

A great hotel, very well looked after.

I had a great stay at the Derag Livinghotel in Weissensee. My room was very comfortable and so quiet I hardly knew there were other guests staying. The reception and bar staff were extremely professional and friendly - and spoke English perfectly - nothing was too much trouble for them. I have friends living on Parkstrasse, so will definitely be staying here again next time I visit.

The hotel is very clean and cozy. The rooms have a small balcony and you can have a smoke or whatever on the patio. They give you two beers and two small bottles of water every day. Breakfast is very expensive so you might pass that and the other drawback that I found was that it's far from the tram station and from downtown but it's a very quiet and nice area. There's a Netto store right down the street for your shopping convenience. You have a nice small kitchen in the room with everything, plates, forks you name it, you can cook your own dinner.

Very nice, I would highly recommend.

I loved the place! the room was comfortable and clean, the wifi was excellent, The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff were friendly. The location is a quiet residential area, it was perfect for a good night's sleep. The restaurant serves dinner (limited menu) and there is a bar as well which opens until 11 pm. The location is a 7 minute walk to the tram station and another 20 minutes to the city center. I'll be very happy to stay here again when I'm in Berlin.

Very nice hotel

The breakfast wasn't included which was a surprise but it was good so I don't feel terribly cheated. Everything was sufficient. Parking was not bad, either. You can unload luggage in front of the hotel and no big rush to repark. We found a parking space within two blocks. The WiFi and air conditioning and all that stuff works. It seems like it caters to businessmen but I saw lots of families there, too.

Good hotel, definately worth considering

Excellent hotel, clean spacious and well equipped rooms and with very good service. Whilst slightly out of the city centre, very quick and easy to get anywhere. Definitely recommend it for anyone visiting the city who doesn't mind the extra 15mins travel time each day to the major attractions.

Perfect area to enjoy Berlin

A wonderful hotel. Great room, terrific staff at front desk. We especially found Jessica at the desk most friendly and helpful with questions we had.
The cleanliness of the room was also great and having a little kitchen added to the happiness of our stay!
Close to the Weisensee that made the area relaxing for walking. Also close to all public transportation!
Would come back to this hotel as first choice!

This hotel is way out in the burbs. The area, Weissensee, is perfectly pleasant, but I suspect not where most sightseers or Berlin party goers would wish to stay.
The actual hotel is perfectly pleasant, if unexceptional. My room turned out to be a single room. My hunch is that the hotel's main purpose is to host management conferences. Don't get me wrong, it was comfortable, clean, polite and extremely good value. I just don't think a weekend visitor would want to stay so far from the Berlin.

Nice hotel if the internet was working

Were there for a total of two days. It is a clean hotel with nice furnishings. However nothing was done about the internet for the two days we stayed there. Consequently you should not plan on doing business while staying there.
I notified the front desk about the internet problem 30 minutes after arrival. Still when we left there were zero speed or no internet at all.
They even moved us to another room the second day which had a router but if there is no data from the provider you have no internet.
We wasted two days here and paid a fair amount of money for.
I mentioned when we checked out that some form of compensation is normal if there is a problem with a product. But they could not do that either.
Also, the rate Expedia quoted was in US$. I ended up paying the same amount in Euros (a 10% difference at the time).

PS Do not even think about arriving in a full size car if you plan on using their parking garage which only leaves space for a compact (at least the space I was assigned). On a positive note you may be able to park on the street.

39 degrees and aircon wasn't working

So we checked in on a hot summer day and our aircon wasn't working. We went to the reception to tell them about it and they kept finding excuses like it's because the sun is shining in (we had the curtains down all day so the sun wasn't shining in) or because the window is open (the window was closed all day). So the next day they send a technician after a sleepless night for us. He asked what our problem is as the ac is working, it were like 30 degrees in our room, that's not what we understand under aircon. Anyway he said he won't be able to fix it until the next day which would have meant another sleepless night without aircon. So we went to the reception and asked for a new room which we then got and, surprise, the aircon was working excellent in the other room. So we don't know why they kept telling us that everything is fine with our old aircon. The hotel itself is okay, but far out from the city but there is a tram like a 10 minute walk away. Wouldn't stay there again cause it's just too far to get to the city every day.

25 mins out of CBD

Great hotel if you enjoy a quiet experience compared to CBD hotels.
If happy to walk /stroll 12-15 mins to tram 4 stop(AlberineSt.,)you can be in Berlin CBD in 25 mins or so.
Purchase of an all day transport ticket-6.90 euro- gives travel to Wansee ,Charlotteborg. For a change of scenery.For 7.40 Potsdam and Sashsenhausan become avaible
Local area has large park with lake lose by,Supermarket 5-6 mins stroll and an excellent Italatian restaurant(La familia) Pistorous st, just round the corner from the Tram 4 stop.

Super Value - Clean and comfortable, nice staff, nice parks next. A bit far from the city center, but the M4 tram (about 8 minutes walking) is available almost 24h a day.

Excellent hotel, great deal.

An absolutely fantastic hotel for the price we paid.

Included in the room rate was a free, comprehensive continental breakfast buffet, as well as use of a sauna and steam room.

The room was lovely, with a good bathroom, though the beds left us a bit stiff in the mornings.

Staff were always attentive and extremely helpful.

Was a little disappointed in the restaurant options, as the menu was not very broad and was quite expensive. We opted to eat elsewhere and there is a perfectly serviceable, cheap pizzeria/Italian restaurant around the corner, and even a kitchenette in your room if you feel inclined to cook.

The neighbourhood was a little quiet, and it took a bit of time to get in to central Berlin, but it was safe.

Relaxing stay

We stayed 7 days to visit family and friends.Very nice furnished and quiet room, good beds. Breakfast buffet rich and of great variety.A bit of a lengthy walk to the next metro tramway halt ( 9 minutes). Close to a nice little lake and park for relaxing or jogging. One free bottle of beer and mineral water per person per day!

Close to transport links to city centre.

The hotel was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast, which was included in our deal, was excellent with plenty of choice. All the staff were friendly and went out of their way to help and give advice. We were amazed at how high the standard was, especially in view of the fact that it was so cheap.
