Both the room and staff were horrible. I have never seen such rude and unprofessional people in my life. We had to check out 1 day before our scheduled check out date to another hotel.

Very nice rooms, had a kettle, across the road gesundbrunnen shopping centre with 2 big supermarkets and a metro station. It’s about a 20 min taxi ride from Berlin central station (about 20 euro).had everything I needed so recommend for a stay.

Everything about the hotel was good besides the wifi. The wifi did not work in my room which is not a deal breaker but extremely annoying. Location is nice as it’s a short walk away from the train station, but the community around it feels a little sketchy.

The bathroom needs an on/off light switch. The bathroom light is operated by a sensor but this is a terrible feature for those of us who need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night. The bright light destroys my sleep pattern. The room I booked supposedly had a kitchenette. It had a kettle, fridge and sink but no crockery or cutlery or cooking facility. That is not a kitchenette. The room I was allocated is looking dated and in need of re-decoration.

Easy electronic check. Apartment was quite spacious and clean. Air con was good and WiFi of an acceptable speed. No plates, cutlery etc provided although could have been “rented” for €30, which was a bit too much to ask. Good location very close to Grsundbrunnen station with easy access to the city. All in all good value for money

So I would like to start with saying, the staff was very friendly, I was not too intimidated to ask for help. The room was very nice, AC worked splendidly, bed was clean and comfy. I did find a few silverfish upon my arrival but not too bothered by it.

My only issue is the errors made had me worried if my belongings were very safe. When I checked in, I paid for early check in and was given a key. However, I was given the key to an occupied room and was met by an unhappy resident (understandbly). So I went straight to the reception and was given a new room - however due to this error I refused to keep anything valueable like my passport in my room unattended. 2nd Issue was when I was given a new room, I wasnt checked in correctly meaning there was a potential for someone to enter my room due to the system showing the room unoccupied and booked for someone else. I only knew about this as I couldnt log into the wifi using my name and room name, when queried a new staff member informed me. This again puts into question this hotel rooms security as i had my room card for 7 hours but the system showed i wasnt checked in.

Hotel was really nice but I had a bad experience at check in. The reception lady asked me to pay 30 euro for what she told me for tax. I paid this then on departure on my receipt I seen it was for early check in. I queried this and they refunded my 30 euro as I didn’t check in early.
I am still upset with this as if I hadn’t noticed then I would have lost 30 euros.

Everything in the room was fine. I didn't give a 5-star rating due to the very poor wi-fi connection. I had to log-in every morning and often I either couldn't connect at all or it would take me several tries before I was able to access the Internet. And even when I did have access, the connection was weak.

Worst stay EVER

Our stay was the nights of September 27 & 28, 2025. Today 9/29
woke first night 02:00 AM being eaten alive by bed bugs. took pics of the bed bugs and went to reception. They apologized and gave me another room. That room was not clean. I opened the door and beds weren’t made or anything. Went back again and they gave me a third room. He went with me this time. We checked the new room for bugs and cleanliness. While checking the bed I found trash under the mattress. A used bottle of water and a wadded up napkin of some sort. The mattress cover had stains on it. He said it was the last room they had so we had no choice. By this time it was 03:00 AM and instead of sleeping, we are moving around the hotel and scratching numerous itchy areas of our bodies. He also came back to our original room and saw the infestation and the blood in the bed for himself and took pictures of the bite marks on my arms. But there are others on my inner thigh. The employees ensured me management would contact me to make things right. But it hasn’t happened yet.
One of the things the guy said on that night was that we didn’t have to worry about our other clothes and luggage because bed bugs stay with the bed. That is not true. We needed to rewash and dry on extremely high heat to ensure our clothes were not infested. We absolutely could not sleep after that. Not the same night and not much better the second night. Much more to say but I only have 53 characters left of what I’m allowed to write here.

The property was quiet, nearby shops, restaurants, and great transport links. The bed was very comfy, with clean bedsheets and towels provided.
The shower door didn't close, also the walls had lits of stains and marks, lick of fresh paint would make the property look perfect.

The check in had a long long wait. The concierge not speak english. Only one person at the concierge and common areas. Long wait for checking in.
In the room there was not minimum room requirement line iron, body lotion, conditioner shampoo etc.
We booked a one bedroom suite but we were given a bathelor room.
The room was too noisy at night because of trafic around. As if the windows do not have good sound dampening effect.
All together i would not come back and would not recommend.

We stayed in their apart suite which had a bedroom and kitchen. We were a party of 4. Sofa bed wasn’t made and no mattress cover available, had to ask at reception for one which they did deliver. Kitchen unit was large but there was only a kettle with 2 cups, no further cutlery or crockery. Staff were friendly but not professionally trained. I occasionally was talking to 3 people at the same time in different languages. Breakfast was nice enough but too expensive.
However, it is cheaper than most places I’ve looked at and it is clean, quiet and comfortable. Also the location is great! You can explore Berlin quite easily from there and even take trains further out eg Leipzig. There are lots of food options in the shopping centre 2 minutes away.
Still a great option for families.

Good location

Great location near the S-bahn, nice sized rooms, good hot shower and comfy beds. Plenty of cupboard space, friendly staff and there was a safe in the room which was useful. Only slight issue was that we couldnt get the air con to work and it was pretty hot throughout the night, but the windows opened for a breeze at least.

While the location is convenient, my rating is low because of multiple issues. Unfriendly staff, kitchen with no facilities unless you pay an extra charge every day which was not affordable for me. Vegetarians may find breakfast options unsatisfying and overpriced. Sitting areas have dirty and sticky floors. English-speaking staff are scarce. However, the hotel's proximity to public transportation, restaurants, and a budget-friendly shopping mall are positives.

The accommodation was good for what we needed - excellent location for transport links, station is 3 min walk. Shopping centre across the road to buy food/drink. Bed and sofa bed were comfy, the apartment was a good size. Housekeeping came everyday and provided clean towels. Shower was good - powerful and a good temperature. Reception staff were helpful and polite at check in.

The only slight negative was that there is no cutlery/bowls/plates provided with the apartment. Essentially the apartment element of the room is just lots of cupboards, a fridge and a kettle. There are 2 cups and glasses provided but that is all. Not a massive issue but similar properties I have stayed in have provided cutlery and bowls/plates.

The property is lacking in upkeep and the cleaning standards are low. My room was clean, but there was no shower door at all, it had obviously been broke in the past and never replaced. I’d have a huge puddle of water on the floor every time I showered. The halls and elevators were dirty and needed daily cleaning. The lighting in the halls which is motion sensored is probably energy saving, but it makes it very creepy walking off an elevator into a dark hall, especially at night. The hotel is in a great location for someone spending their time exploring Berlin. Public transportation connections are within walking distance, less than a quarter mile. The mall across the street has dining and shopping options, it also has a nice Rewe grocery store on the upper level. There were no English speaking television channels to chooses from. I had visited Belgium and the Netherlands in the days prior to. Visiting this hotel and was surprised to not have a few BBC or other satellite channels from England in the channel mix. When I come back to Berlin I won’t be back to this hotel. I’ll find a different place to stay.

The only thing a huge let down is their terrible wifi connection and as an outsider you need it all the time. Otherwise room was good and spacious, staff were ok and the breakfast was great! There is a huge train station near by - Berlin Gesundbrunnen - and a huge mall surrounding it. Very well connected to Alexanderplatz, heart of Berlin from where you can go to almost all points of interest. Recommend. Will stay again provided they improve the wifi.

The picture of the room is very decisive. Basic room which apparently is a apartment!! with poor quality bedding. Building work outside the room starting 07:30/08:00. The area surrounding the hotel is rather run down and not a place you would want to go out for a meal or a drink. The only positive thing is that you don't want to spend any time in or near the hotel making you want to explore the wonderful sites and areas of Berlin.The train station is only a couple of minutes walk so you can escape quickly.

2 hotel male staffs went up to my room around 6 pm and opened my hotel door when i failed to respond to the reception call and the knocking on my door. Without permission, consent, and authorization, using their hotel access keys, they opened my door alleging my inability to pick up the telephone as the cause of their intrusion. It was 6:00 pm, and I was in the bathroom. They could not even wait until the next morning to discuss whatever it was they needed from me, a guest who is booked for 9 days in their hotel. Where is the guest's right to privacy? During a guest's tenancy, employees are not authorized to enter the room except for routine or requested cleaning and maintenance. Ocak Hotel has violated my right to privacy and endangered my security. Such a sad experience that you were more safe walking in the streets of beautiful Berlin than in the supposed to be comfort of your hotel room.

The hotel was fine with very friendly staff. However, it is very misleading when they indicate a kitchenette. It comprises of cupboards, kettle for tea/ instant coffee and very small fridge. No other appliances or dishes are provided……not a toaster or microwave. If you would like these, we were told that it would be an additional 30 euros a day. I was very disappointed as I booked this hotel because of the kitchenette since we were spending 11 days in Berlin. Had I known in advance, I likely wouldn’t have switched hotels since the one I had previously booked included a full kitchen. The extra fee was not indicated in the property details. I had to scroll to find it.

A neat apartment Hotel approximately 6km from Brandenburg gate. Car parking available at the property for EUR 18 per day. There is a kettle in the apartment but no kitchen/cooking which wasn’t a concern for us. There are lots of eateries close by and Uber costs around EUR 12-15 (non peak hours) to get to main attraction centres. I would stay here again.

An ok stay. Very very spacious room which was nice. Parking was 18 euros per day which was ok. However, there were not enough resources in the kitchen to be able to do cook which makes it odd to have such a large room (only a microwave was present). These rooms were clearly relatively new, but our apartment was just not clean enough. Bathroom and bedroom were clean. However there were filthy stains all over the couches (we had to ask for sheets to cover the couch to sit on it), and even the rubbish from previous guests was under the sink. The room smelt faintly of cigarette smoke also.

Staff were generally helpful, trying to source an extra key on arrival to give us two (they had run out). however there were ads all over the lobby for a gym which we got excited to use the next morning, when we walked over though the clerk said there was no gym and the hotel only opened a month ago so the gym was not ready yet. We found this odd given the state of our room (as above) and the amount of advertising for the gym downstairs.

We also planned to go to breakfast - we arrived 40 mins before closure which is very reasonable to find literally no food - empty yoghurt jars, one sad piece of bread, and some slops of scrambled eggs with no signs of replenishment. Luckily we hadn’t prepaid so ate elsewhere. Would not recommend paying for breakfast! Overall an ok stay.

Very clean and modern. The location was good, being in walking distance to a shopping mall. Good restaurants nearby. The beds were uncomfortably hard ( beyond firm) and the sofa bed that was supposed to be a double was really just a loveseat that opened up to a large single bed- not comfortable for 2 adults.

Limited amenities even it describes as an apartment: only 4 glasses, 2 wine glasses, tea kettle. No microwave, no utensils. The bed is two single bed pushed together, a deep canon drop right in the middle of the bed. Really clean and spacious. Breakfast is nothing no brag about. Wifi kept dropping out so much that is frustrating...

The person at the front desk was super helpful the first day. We arrived early and they let us stow our luggage and offered us maps and advice on where to go and how to get around. We got back around 1:30 and they checked us in early. Breakfast was very good. The only problem was the WiFi. It didn’t work on the 3rd floor at all ( we had to be moved to the 4th) and it barely worked there. Only by the door or in the bathroom which is where we were forced to spend our time looking things up. The WiFi In the restaurant didn’t work at all.

The hotel was very modern and clean, so close to the S and U bahn and right next to big shopping centre! The staff were lovely, I really can’t pick a fault with the hotel - only problem being that the room got really hot as I think our air conditioning was faulty but that is the only bad word I can say. Would highly recommend staying here if you were to come to Berlin, especially as it’s only 6 mins on the u bahn away from the centre!

Nice place, all new, large room, clean, great location, friendly staff. Nice bathroom, comfortable shower. Kitchenette, however, is minimalist - refrigerator plus electric kettle with teacups, instant coffee, and teabags. If you want to actually use the kitchenette you will have to bring your own equipment - dishes, silverware, dish soap, hot plate, whatever.

Advertised as a double room with kitchenette but this is essentially a double room with fridge and kettle NOT a kitchenette as advertised, since there was no crockery, no cutlery, just some glasses, no microwave, no stove so you could not eat in the room, never mind cook something or heat up food. The word ‘kitchenette’ should be removed from the advert. Also room service was not brilliant. Coffee supply replaced once only during a 5 night stay, and milk was NOT provided. One day there was NO room service at all! That said, the room was clean and comfortable. Adequate size bathroom with a good shower. Modern design. Comfortable bed and bedding (extra duvet in wardrobe). Great location within easy walking distance of U-bahn and S-bahn

OK but room for improvement

Hotel is quite new and clean. The staff were polite and friendly. This was our second stay at Ocak but we were less impressed than the first time. On our first visit the wi-fi worked well but this time it did not work at all (I believe this game is called hotel lottery). Breakfast was not available on our previous visit, but this time it was included in the room rate so we gave it a try. Choice was limited, and boring by the third morning. Breakfast room layout was poor, with the one hot drinks machine, juice, cereals and crockery all located at the entrance door. This may seem a trivial remark, but the layout adds 10 minutes to breakfast turnaround and is dangerous because you have to carry hot drinks through a crowd of people who are entering, leaving, queueing and generally jostling for position.

Nice modern hotel

The hotel is in a nice location, it’s not so close to the city centre but it is a very short walk to the U-bahn and S-bahn which makes getting abour Berlin very very easy. There is also a large shopping centre and many places to eat and drink nearby. The hotel staff are lovely and very attentive. Especially the hotels barman who made us some amazing cocktails (which are only 5 euros between 9pm-12am). Would definitely stay here again!

Close to Gesundbrunnen station with good links & reliable services to nearby sights. Room could do with some extra facilities ie bowls & cutlery given it’s an apartment hotel & has a sink, kettle & fridge which were very handy. Staff helpful & got a free coffee on arrival which was appreciated.

The property is new, modern, well presented and in very good working order however the cheap and unconfortable bed and the disappointing breakfast don't quite justify the current 4/5 rating. I'd recommend this for a short-ish stay (three nights, as I did, is close to the upper limit).

Looks good from the outside

We booked a double bed, but ended up with two single beds pushed together.
The shower door was broken and water leaked all over the bathroom floor.
Staff didn’t really seem to know, what they’re doing. Never got greeted, when entering the hotel lobby. Most of the staff barely spoke English (concierge, cleaning and bar staff).
Massive construction works & soccer field in front of the hotel. We did ask the concierge staff, if those noises are gonna disturb us in our room and they said no. End of story, we woke up every single morning (including Saturday and Sunday) from either construction works or soccer matches around 7.30am.
After a long day of sight seeing, we wanted to chill out and watch some TV.
They don’t have any English TV channels beside 2 news channels, but million others (Arabic, French, German...)

Great hotel and location and Berlin

We had a great stay at Ocak. The hotel is very good and only 5 minutes walking from Gesundbrunnen station, which is in front of a shopping mall with many restaurants and supermarket. The room was clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful.
The only drawback was the size of the blanket ( they give you 2 small blankets), however we didn’t ask for a larger one. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.

Ocak Hotel - A Good Choice

Ocak was a good choice. The hotel is a five minute level walk from Gesundbrunnen train station, which is well connected to both Schonefeld and tourist attractions. The hotel was clean (it's not been open very long). Staff were polite and friendly. WiFi and Air Con both worked.

Nice stay at Ocak

We’ve had a nice stay at Ocak. Clean and new rooms, comfortable bed, good service. The only downside would be the small blanket. We asked for a larger one, but the staff referred to another small blanket in the closet. We would rather have one large blanket. Overall, great stay and we enjoyed our little trip.

Location is perfect, but:
- Room kitchenette needs more tools. It doesn't have even a spoon not Microwave
- The hotel entrance is Not friendly for kinder strollers
- Room service is not perfect

Would probably stay here again

Good value new ish hotel that was v convenient for Gesundbrunnen station which has S and R trains, u bahn and buses going to most places. Also right next to a big shopping centre w supermarkets etc. Surprised no kichen equipment (plates cutlery etc) in the studio (it can be hired apparently ) but there was a fridge /kettle etc. However as eating out is cheap and interesting and we were out all day it wasnt really necessary. Nice organic cafe at station for morning coffee if you dont fancy hotel one. Which looked pretty comprehensive though we didnt have it. Staff efficient and pleasant. 24 hr reception. Area ok. Decent infrastructure. A good option price wise compared to central Berlin hotels.

We at first had an unpleasant stay for a hotel that was brand new due to the AC not working no fans in the room which was very hot. No milk provided for Tea & coffee and dirty cups. I believe that the Hotel will improve there issues being a new hotel

At the time we were staying there they were doing renovations to the site. Air conditioner didn't work and the breakfast was at the hostel next door ( which is fine) but not what I expected for the amount we paid. No parking as of the renovations too
