Clean, good size room with nice garden view. No luxury, stick to basic but color scheme is so pleasing. All people I came across, including front office, housekeepers, restaurant staff, were polite and helpful. Half of them don’t speak English but their helpfulness shown outwardly. They should emphasize that the hotel is just adjacent to the Wall Memorial, with street car stops in 50 meters. The best kept secret is the restaurant, the decor will please everyone with a nice private garden outside the floor to ceiling glass wall. Was an enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

I booked a Classic Triple Room more than two months in advance. I was given a wheelchair-accessible room instead. I asked for another room and was then offered a Double Room. I accepted it, but I made it known that I was not pleased. I paid for a Queen bed, yet I slept on a Double. I wouldn't book this hotel again.

The staff were all friendly and helpful, the room (104, balcony overlooking garden) was clean and comfortable and in good repair. It is a quiet location, in a leafy side street, but close to transport and an easy 15 minute cycle or €15 taxi into the centre. I'd stay here again.

We rented the apartment on the 6th floor which was fantastic. Unfortunately the elevator was broken and climbing the steps was not easy. We said something to the staff and was rudely informed that was too bad. The following day the new staff was nice and did not charge us the 10 euros for parking. Overall, the location was good. We were next to the Berlin Wall Memorial. Just needed the elevator!

A spacious clean hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Close to tram line and Berlin wall memorial. The bistro next door sells variety of snacks and drinks. There is a spacious garden area to the back with seating, ponds, table tennis and two swings. We had a lovely few days here, the only down side was no air conditioning, but could open windows so we didn't mind too much. Definitely recommend it.

Grenzfall does what it does very well!

Berlin can be a bit hit and miss with hotels sometimes...fortunately, the Grenzfall can be relied upon to give exactly what you need from a visit to the city! The rooms are spacious and clean (it helps that they aren't carpeted but, although that seemed odd at first, the material they use is clean, warm and practical) and the fully opening windows add to the light feel. Location is superb being at the point where the Wall used to meet East and West at Bernauer Strasse, the more tourist centric part of the city is a fifteen minute walk or quicker from the M10 tram stop or U-bahn station around the corner. Incidentally, Mauerpark \"flea\" market is 500 yards away for a fun filled Sunday.
The hotel prides itself of being inclusive in it's staffing make up and as such is well appointed for those with any mobility issues. The staff (especially Marion on reception) are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating throughout the hotel...nothing was too much trouble. The garden was charming and never too busy even in the very pleasant weather I enjoyed and the café to the side of the hotel (connected) was again precisely what you need for a brief stop off. Whilst I was a little unsure about staying in a 3 star hotel, I couldn't have asked for better! All in all, I would certainly stay again and recommend to any visitor making a stay in Berlin to consider the Grenzfall as their base!
(oh...and the shower was perfect!)

I loved how close it was to the Berlin Wall! This is why I chose the hotel. I also loved the balcony! Checking in was easy and the staff was very welcoming. The only reason why I didn’t give a perfect score is because there was no Air conditioning and the internet wasn’t the best.

The room was very spacious and clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly (and spoke English). We did not eat there, so we can't comment on the restaurant. The lack of carpets/rugs was a bit of a surprise, but explained by their desire to be fully accessible - great idea!

A delightful hotel with a beautiful garden.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this small, friendly, well appointed hotel. Our room had a spacious balcony that overlooked large and mature gardens where guests can sit, relax and read. . Even though we were in the city, we were awoken by birdsong. Our bedroom was spacious and comfortable with a large en-suite with a highly efficient shower. The staff were friendly and welcoming and only too ready to answer any questions. There were plenty of choices for breakfast in the dining room which is adjacent to the gardens. We also enjoyed a couple of evening meals - very pleasant and some good choices for vegetarians. If you are looking for 5* luxury, this is not for you but for those of you who prefer something a little different. a little more personal this is just perfect. A gem close to the middle of the city.

We stayed for 1 night while visiting a friend in Berlin. Service was excellent and our room was stylish and clean with comfortable beds. The garden is very nice and there is a handy Bistro attached to the Hotel. Location is good being right next door to the Berlin Wall memorial and a 5 minute walk to the nearest S-Bahn and a quick hop to the centre of town.

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Grenzfall and were very happy we picked this hotel.
The hotel is about 200 metres from some of the remains of the Berlin Wall and some historic sites.
Easy to get public transport to and from the hotel and a very good resturant on the premises.

Great value for money

I've stayed there for the second time and was very pleased with the overall experience. Uncomplicated and friendly. Probably not the most fancy hotel in Berlin but if you are looking for great service and good place to stay close to Berlin Mitte, then this is an excellent place. Next to the Wall

Well the map made it look closer to the U line but it was closer to the S line. It was right across the street from the only remaining part of the wall. It was tucked behind an odd building and I think the hotel is shared with an apartment complex. Check-in was easy and the front desk guy put me on the 3rd floor with a garden view. The art deco in the hotel and in the room was very cool. Painted concrete floors cut down on the dust. Bed was really comfortable. Odd shower, which I read on another posting, but it worked real well. I prepaid for breakfast which turned out to be quite tasty. The waitress even offered me eggs anyway I wanted cooked! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Had to request a clean sheet and Pjs left in a heap. Besides that a comfortable and reasonably priced hotel with helpful and pleasant staff. A very orange decor, modern, minimilist with good evening meal and buffet breakfast. We will return in the new year when we are back in Berlin.

Grenzfall was great!

Hotel was very reasonably priced, well maintained and the front desk staff was lovely. Directly next door to the Berlin wall, and a short walk from the metro and lots of bars and restaurants. Made a great base for a tourist - quiet, but still close to main train station. A bit off the beaten path, but easy to get around all the same.

We enjoyed staying at this hotel for its modern feel, cleanliness, and the fact that there is a standing section of the Berlin Wall very close by.

The S and U Bahns are fairly close to the hotel and it was a fairly easy walk back to the hotel from the main sights at the end of the day.

We found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful.

High speed broadband was unfortunately only available in wired format which we could not use as We needed wifi, however they do have Internet access available in the foyer.

Hotel Grenzfall in Berlin

I loved the hotel because of its modern European style, all hard surfaces including the floors throughout the hotel. A very nice restaurant with floor to ceiling glass doors to a very well kept and picturesque green yard where they serve breakfast which consisted of a very nice and plentiful selection of breakfast food. The bathroom was large and very European. No bathtub and no shower stall. A shower curtain kept the water from getting to the rest of the bathroom. The shower head was as big as a large dinner plate so it poured plenty of steady hot water. The drain was very effective because water never got beyond the shower curtain. My room was large with two mattresses on the same platform bed. Plenty of large European style windows. The U and the S trains were about a block to two blocks away. Train trip to the center of the city about three stops.

Particularly attractive garden feature

We liked our room at Hotel Grenzfall very much. The beds were particularly comfortable, the plumbing efficient and the decor minimalist but attractive. The staff were friendly and the public areas clean and well maintained.
The feature that we particularly enjoyed was the imaginatively laid out and well maintained garden.We wished we had been there when the weather was warmer so we could have sat out in it as it has several attractively designed seating areas.
The location is very convenient, close to the Berlin Wall memorial park and with good transport links via the nearby S Bahn Nordbahnhof Station and the U Bahn Bernauerstrasse Station.

Au sommet du grenzfall hotel

Séjour dans “l’appartement” du 6e étage du Grenzfall Hôtel, situé juste au niveau du musée du mur de Berlin sur Bernauer Strasse (direct gare centrale).

On avait le dernier étage de l’hôtel pour nous, avec une grande terrasse dans la chambre qui permet de se poser dehors au soleil.

Nous avions réservé pour 6 donc 2 lits solo ont été ajoutés (1 dans chaque sous-chambre de l’appartement qui compte 1 anti-chambre, 2 chambres et 1 salle d’eau).
Le seul inconvénient est qu’il n’y a qu’une salle de bains dans laquelle se trouvent les toilettes, pour 6 personnes ça demande de l’organisation. La déco est minimaliste, mais il y a tout ce qu’il faut et les lits sont très corrects.

Emplacement de l’hôtel excellent, personne présente à l’accueil toute la nuit, emplacements pour garer ses vélos juste devant (location fortement conseillée à rent a bike 44 Berlin, ca vaut le déplacement !).

Le petit déjeuner est trop cher et ne vaut pas le coup, allez plutôt vous poser au Rabbit café à 5 min à pied qui est très sympa et bien meilleur.

sehr unfreundlicher checkin, es war sonst niemand da aber ich musste 5 Minuten warten bis mit mir gesprochen wurde. Lift Knöpfe haben nicht wirklich funktioniert aber es wurde nicht erklärt sondern nur mit Augenrollen gezeigt. Raum war groß aber hatte immer einen leichten Geruch, und Zimmer wurde bei 3 Nächten Aufenthalt kein einziges Mal gereinigt, Wasser wurde nicht ersetzt, etc.
Preis war ok.

Hotellet ligger litt i utkanten av sentrum. Men ved siden av det svært spesielle områder som fortsatt har litt igjen av muren. Det er også en stor hage ved siden av hotellet som er svært stille. Så lenge det ikke er arbeid i gaten på andre siden av veien. Men vinduene er svært lydtette. En av naboene skar opp sykkeldekket da vi hadde parkert ved siden av hotellet så jeg råder ingen til å parkere sykkelen noe annet sted enn i parkeringshuset. Det er derimot svært hyggelige folk som jobber der. Litt bortsett fra den ene fyren som kan virke som han har lyst til å legge til ekstra betalt for alt. Men det er ikke noe galt i det. Det stemmer det han gjør. Men alle de andre var svært hyggelige. Rommet var stort og lyseblått Hotellet er litt dyrt. Men hvis man vil ha det svært stille, så er det perfekt. Og de som rydder rommene har store hjerter.

Das Hotel war super, das Zimmer war schön groß und sehr sauber. Auch das Restaurant war super. Die Preise waren normal und die Portionen ordentlich.
Nur die Lage war nicht so schön. Ws gab in der nähe keinerlei Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und auch Restaurants oder Cafes waren da kaum. Nach einem 10 Minütigen Fußweg war man aber an der U-Bahnstation und damit schnell am Alexanderplatz.

Erinomainen hinta-laadu suhde

Olin todella tyytyväinen hotellin hinta-laatu suhteeseen. Sijainti oli loistava, keskeinen, mutta silti rauhallinen ja hyvät kulkuyhteydet.
Henkilökunta oli todella ystävällista ja auttavaista.
Huone oli suuri, myös esteetön ja kaikki yöpymiseen tarvittava löytyi. Wifi toimi moitteettomasti.
Aamiainen oli hyvä ja runsas. Hotellin takana oleva puutarha on ihanteellinen paikka syödä aamiaista! Aijon yöpyä jatkossakin tässä hotellissa.

Buon rapporto qualità prezzo e ottima zona

Albergo in zona ottima (memoriale del Museo), quartiere tranquillo, metro e tram a due passi. Camere moderne, arredo dignitoso, un po' spartano. Pulito. Non abbiamo fatto colazione in albergo.

Super Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis

Klasse Hotel im Verhältnis zum Preis. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Zimmer ist riesig.
Die Umgebung ist im unter Berücksichtigung der Lage Berlin-Mitte etwas trostlos.

가성비 매우 좋고요. 단점은 방에 냉장고가 없고 성인 4명, 2인실에 화장실이 1개뿐인게 다소 불편. 이것만 빼고 나머지는 매우 좋습니다.

Gutes stadtnahes Hotel

Das Hotel hat uns gut gefallen. Im Besonderen das sehr freundliche Personal, das saubere
Zimmer und der Garten. Zudem ist es sehr zentral gelegen und mit den vielfältigen Anbindungen, die in umittelbarer Nähe liegen, ist die Innenstadt in kürzester Zeit erreichbar.
Dieses Hotel kann ich mit bestem Gewissen nur weiter empfehlen

Zentral, ruhig, gerne wieder

Zentral gelegen und doch sehr RUHIG.
Zimmer zweckmäßig, das ist nicht negativ, optimal für eine Städtereise.
Tolles Frühstück. Mitarbeiter sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich.
Restaurant haben wir abends auch getestet, war lecker. Aber etwas mehr Auswahl auf der Karte könnte nicht schaden. Deshalb waren wir nur einmal dort.
Würde es wieder buchen.

Sehr schönes Hotel in zentraler Lage

Erster Aufenthalt im Hotel Grenzfall vor 2 Jahren zur Hochzeit meiner Tochter. Schon damals hat es uns sehr gut gefallen jetzt ein Familientreffen und bei wunderbarem Wetter könnten wir auch den phantastischen Garten bewundern. Sehr aufmerksamer Service und nette und höfliche Mitarbeiter.

Ein Hotel wo man keins vermutet. Mitten in einem Wohngebiet und trotzdem recht zentral. S- und U-Bahn schnell zu erreichen. Das Hotel ist modern eingerichtet, wirkt freundlich und einladend. Unser Zimmer war sehr groß, so das trotz Bestellbett genug Platz war. Dle Nacht war mit offenem Fenster sehr ruhig, die Betten sehr bequem. Bei den Temperaturen hätte ich mir eine Minibar gewünscht um auf kühle Getränke zurück greifen zu können im Zimmer. Das Frühstück war klasse - insbesondere die selbstgemachte Marmelade hat gepunktet. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam und um den Gast bemüht. Wir würden dieses Hotel selbst wieder buchen und auch weiterempfehlen
