Excellent location. This hotel was very clean, rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were really nice and had great recommendations. Indoor parking was clean, secure and close. Parking was 41 Euros a day. It was worth it for peace of mind. Perfect location with restaurants, pharmacy, supermarket all located right when you walk out of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.

Central, comfortable hotel.

The hotel is well located with excellent travel links. Check-in was quick and friendly. We had a triple room and, although not particularly big, was adequate for our needs. The beds were comfortable with extra pillows provided if needed. The breakfast was also very good.
We might’ve rated higher but there was just a couple of things that we weren’t very happy with. There was a couple of members of staff that we found a little rude and on a couple of days some breakfast items weren’t replenished. We were only provided with two of everything in the room despite it being a triple room booked for three people. Not a big problem when you can ask for extra but when you need to justify why you want an extra towel but not hand over a used one it is a bit irritating. Our air conditioning unit started leaking water on the first night so we had to go without. We were advised to open a window but between the smoke coming in one window from the non-smoking room next door and the potential for bugs this was not a viable option. The issue was fixed the next day and we had no further trouble with it. We got a great deal on this room so felt like we got value for money but if we had paid the full rate I would’ve been quite disappointed. I would stay here again but only if I could secure the same low rate.

This is our second time staying at Hotel Fenice, Milano. The location near the subway and within walking distance to all the sites works for us. It isn’t fancy but we find it to be clean and comfortable. The staff is always very helpful and pleasant.

Room was basic. Twin bed was kind of uncomfortable. The AC didn’t work all that well either. The hotel is in a great local though and the room had a tub which I like. Probably wouldn’t stay here again for the price but wasn’t unhappy with my stay.

Good Hotel in Super Convenient Location

This was the second time I've stayed in Hotel Fenice - Milano. On both occasions the staff were friendly and helpful, the room met all of my needs and I enjoyed the convenient location close to the Porta Venezia Metro stop, shopping and restaurants. If you have free time it is easy to walk to the Duomo area or to the Giardini Pubblici where local people enjoy themselves on nice days. The only drawback to this location is that the traffic and street life can be quite noisy. For example I was awakened very early by the sounds of glass being loaded into a recycling truck just outside of my window. Despite that issue I would happily stay here again. I was quite comfortable in my room during the time that I was in my room and there was lots to see and do nearby. Also the breakfast was good.

Budget hotel in good location

Hotel Fenice is a budget hotel in a good location. Rooms are fairly simple. There is not much of a lobby, nor the little touches of a luxury hotel. I also had real problems with the lights -- couldn't turn off at nighttime. An employee had to rig up something to get them to turn off. Also, when I called downstairs to report this, no one answered. Best to say is that it is in a good location, close to transportation, restaurants and shopping.

Great staff, basics are covered, great location

This hotel has what you need for a basic night or two stay. The rooms are nothing fancy but get the job done. The staff was very nice and the location was very central. The walls are very thin so it was a bit noisy - I could hear other guests watching TV, playing music, talking etc. Not a huge deal to me but something to be aware of.

OK hotel, great location

Was here for business after a meeting in Pisa, and had an early morning flight from Milan. Hotel was fine. The room itself was fine, but the window opened up to a gap between buildings, and sat right over the area where the staff took their smoking breaks, so I couldn't open my windows at all.

The corridors also stank of smoke, although I think the hotel was supposed to be non-smoking throughout, so either that wasn't accurate information, or one of the guests was smoking in their room. There was an ash-tray in my room in any case, so..... As an asthma sufferer (who was also at the tail-end of a cold), I am very sensitive to smoke, so always make sure that I am staying in a smoke-free hotel. This was therefore disappointing.

The breakfast was adequate, and was replenished frequently by the staff.

Check-in was also fine, although as I was 30 mins early, I wasn't allowed up to my room. However, I was allowed to store my bag in the storage room behind the front desk, so I didn't have to wait.

The location of the hotel is great. It's right next to a Metro station, and there are plenty of supermarkets and restaurants nearby to get food in.

If I'm in Milan again, I will probably look at availability of this place, but it might not be at the top of my list.

We paid for superior room and the one what we got was very small(room 410) situated on the end of the corridor. We asked for a different room,similar to the one from the pictures but they were fully booked. Only next day they moved us to the proper room. Very poor Wi-Fi and poor breakfast choice,good location.

The hotel is in a good location: there's access to the metro close-by, lots of shops along the Corso Buenos Aires and good restaurants are in walking distance. If you arrive by car, it's best if you drive up the pedestrian zone from Via Melzo to unload your luggage, and then lock up the car at one of their parking garage boxes which is a couple of blocks down the street (5 minute walk from the hotel, on the left near Via Melzo 17). Staff was very friendly. The breakfast buffet is more on the simple side, but sufficient to get you rolling for the day.

It was ideally located, not near Duomo, but in a very living shopping street. Midway between Duomo and Central Train station. Perfect access to the metro line M1 Pta venezia. All staff from front desk to waitresses at breakfast are helpful. Free wifi. Very clean hotel. Restaurants in walking distance. Would definitely stay there again. Breakfast buffet provided good selection - attentive service. Street noisy, and can feel the vibrations from the metro, but it as not an issue, since we were leaving in the morning and coming back late in the evening. In summary, it has all the basics you need in a very simple way.

The hotel is ok for the location. Internet was down for 2 days and I had to change room 3 times. No twin bed but a little single bed. Then new room lit bit better but 8am somebody started to hummer next door. They said that the next building is a condo so they don't have power for that. WHAT??

A very good hotel in a perfect location

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was very good, just a little small, but had everything one needed for a short stay. Breakfast was buffet style but plentiful and the coffee is excellent. The hotel location is perfect for a visit to Milan - there is a metro stop just across the road but we prefer to walk and everything is within walking distance, giving you the opportunity to see the city.

Makeover required

My wife and I have stayed here several times over last few years and have noticed that it is now badly in need of an overhaul in terms of decoration and internal appearance. The bedroom walls were badly scuffed with dark marks and the plaster around light fittings cracked in places. Staff service was good and hotel is basically clean but money must be spent on decoration.

close to shopping and easy tram from centrale

This hotel was my least favourite of our two week honeymoon. It didn't feel as spacious and clean as the others and the air conditioning system didn't work properly,or perhaps just wasn't as strong.
The location was pretty good, directly on a main shopping strip and close to good restaurants as well as the duomo and square.
There is an awesome gelateria in the strip by the hotel as well. Overall it was a pretty good hotel but I would stay elsewhere in the area if we return to Milan.

This hotel is centrally located, near very good restaurants, the park, lots and lots of shops; and just a short taxi ride from Milano Centrale (Station). The rooms are compact, but comfortable and very clean and attractive. The buffet breakfast is very good and served in a lovely dining room. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable about GREAT restaurants, in the area.

The hotel was located in a perfect location in a very nice area. The staff was polite, very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was ample and fresh. The room however reeked of cigarette smoke so bad that I could not even sleep. The smell was in the walls, draperies and bedding. I understand that the Europeans still don't get it about smoke, but i did request a NON smoking room. Apparently they have started doing renovations on the upper floors. Also the price was so crazy because of the huge event for which i was there, and i was told but the front desk that there is no standard rate in Italy and they can charge what ever they can get, and for this particular week (For the I Saloni Fair) they charged over 300 Euro for a 120Euro room- apparently price gouging is legal there) FYI - don't go to Milan during the Saloni event and you get much more your your money. ANd the room was so small I could only walk around the bed to the bathroom. Would not have minded so much if I wasn't paying so much, but the worst was the cigarette smell. Ans sine there were no other rooms in the entire city I was stuck with it. I would stay again only in a renovated room with normal pricing.

Great hotel for weekend in Milano

The Fenice is located within 20 mins walk of the main Milan tourist sites of the Duomo, shopping streets, La Scala and other museums, historical buildings. It also right next to a metro station that is only 3 stops from the Duomo. The staff are very helpful, service is excellent. The rooms are small, but very clean and functional. The hotel was very quiet with no disturbance when we there. It is good value for such a good location.

Only Stay Here If You Are Desparate

Sadly this hotel did not live up to their ad. The hotel is actually on a little side street so if you are like us and drove here, good luck finding parking while you check in. Their parking garage is 3 blocks away and not attended full time. Additionally, the hotel charges extra per night to park your car in the garage (not stated in this hotel's write up). We had a double bed in our room that left little room for anything else to be in there. The bathroom was dirty and the bidet smelt really awful. The free breakfast was good and sadly was the best part of our experience here. The staff was not very friendly in my opinion either. For the money we spent at this hotel, I simply expected more.

Nice and clean, helpful staff, little small rooms but not a problem, it's time for renovation in not a far future (best days have past).Metro station directly outside hotel. Breakfast ok, overall it's very good value for the price. You'll not regret your stay allthough it's probably possible to find something more comfortable but why take the risk!

Affordable comfort in a great location

The staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was a triple room, two single beds and a fold-out bed/cot; all three were very comfortable. The room and bathroom were basic, clean and a good size. Breakfast was included in our rate and was a good variety of food for different tastes. The hotel is right beside one of the main shopping streets (Corso Buenos Aires) so a good choice if you would like to do some shopping. There is a metro stop right beside the hotel but we never needed to use it; we walked everywhere. The only downside we had was that sometimes we could hear a lot of noise outside our room (in the street and in the corridor) but this did not interfere with our sleep or happen often. We would stay again

A hotel for budget travellers

Right next to Venezia metro station. Bathroom is too small. However, the most disappointing aspects are the shower drain which does not work and the air-con in the room. The shower head also badly need a replacement. Apart from the noise from the air-con when switched to high speed, we could not feel any cooling inside the room. As the room faces a main road with high volume of road and pedestrian traffic, opening the windows for fresh air is not an option. The shower drain drains very slowly. As we had booked two rooms, we could tell that the problem with the air cond and the shower drain are obviously not confined to certain rooms only.

Very good hotel in a good location - close to transport and not far from the main attractions. Staff were helpful and friendly.

While the room wad basic it was very clean and comfortable. The shower was particularly good with great water pressure - perfect after a long day traveling! Breakfast was fine. Would highly recommend for a comfortable and affordable stay.

Hotel Fenice Milano is a nice hotel in a great location. Our room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast includes rolls, cheese, cold cuts, cereal, yogurt and fruit, as well as various types of coffee. The hotel is located just a few steps from a metro entrance, which provides easy access to the popular tourist attractions and to the airport by way of the Malpensa Express. The hotel is located just steps away from a street with lots of stores.

Best Front Desk we ever meet!Thank you, Bladdar. 4 Stars + hotel with 2 stars price ! Great Location to shopping area and 12 steps to metro !! Good breakfast !! My wife and I choice to stay in Milan for 3 days after our 8 days cruises . I spend around 3 nights to search the best value hotel on-line which was not sure if I choice the right one when we arrived . At the time we arrived was tired and hungry and the person Bladdar in the front desk give us a nice and clean room also suggest us a very nice restaurant with great Italian food and very good price as well ( even got discount if you show them that you are refer from Hotel Fenice ). After dinner he also suggest what we should do in Milan and where to shop , how to get there He is the best Front desk that I even meet . Without him , we might not have so great 72 hours in Milan , we will come back to this hotel for sure and stay another week at least !!!

A great time in Milano

I came to Milan for business and my wife accompanied me. During the day, I was working and had to catch the metro...changing stations along the way. This was all very easy, the metro is ten steps from the hotel and even though not a lot of English is spoken, I was able to find my way around. the hotel staff answered all our questions and were very helpful.
Breakfast was continental but comprensive and we didn't go hungry, as we either went to work or sight-seeing.
At night, when we closed the shutters and windows and turned on our A/c fan, most of the out-side noise was drowned out and we enjoyed a good nights sleep.
When I return to Milano, I will also return to the Hotel Fenice.

Booked two months in advance. At arrival reception stated only two singles available and offered to absorb supplement. Traveling companion was not comfortable staying in a separate room. Our double was dark and looked over the main street. I had requested on arrival a room towards back of hotel.
Female receptionist was rude. Breakfast was good and in a pleasant room.
For Milan the hotel rate was good.

Good, convenient location. Right outside is the metro and on the opposite side Taxi stand. Good value for money.
Only negative is the small flight of steps to go up before you enter the elevator. So not convenient for traveling with heave bags.

Good location

Situated right by Port Venezia metro station makes this a good spot from which to reach all the major sites of Milan, although I walked a lot as well since the centre is not that large. The hotel is fairly basic but I found the room clean and the bed comfortable enough for the 3 nights I spent there. Breakfast adequate , coffee very good. Reception staff helpful even checking me in online for my return flight. Not cheap but I think Milan expensive everywhere near the centre.

Air conditioning could be a lot better than it was.

All in all the stay was enjoyable-

Hotel Fenice Milano - A 3.5 star hotel

Hotel Fenice Milano is A 3.5 star hotel .
We had a superior room - very nice room , but it was too small , the shower in the room was too small , the bed was comfort .
the service of the hotel was very nice .
the elevator of the hotel is small .
the breakfast was nice but poor .
the hotel is 10 minutes far from the best shopping areas .
but the hotel doesn't have a bombastic price like other hotels in the area .
the most disadvantage of the hotel is that the WiFi is not free !

Convenient location

Poor air conditioning. The staff is not friendly. The area is not as exciting as advertised. I will consider staying near Duomo next time.

Definately recommend

Friendly helpful charming reception and service (well, humanly, with one exception), minor hiccups resolved (including when cld not work out how to use the shower! ) Lovely room with balcony overlooking courtyard, a real bonus, clean, everything you would want & could not fault for price, Very well positioned, 2 /3 metro stops from the Duomo,I did a lot of research and reckoned best position for the price which is vital for a short city stay, with its pluses, we really enjoyed our stay

Hotel Fenice Milan - great location

Excellent location in main shopping street with restaurants and cafes handy. Also Metro entrance a few steps from hotel.
My room was very hot as no air con in April, but they gave me another room where the window opened onto the coutyard which was very pleasant.
Rooms are small with recently renovated bathrooms, but quite adequate for my needs
Staff very helpful and friendly.
If you are looking for a 3 star hotel, I would definitely recommend it.

Great Location

This hotel is in a great position and a 15 minute walk to the Dome. It's also located on the main shopping street. A Metro station is directly underneath so very easy to get around town with a daily Metro ticket. Tram is also one block away. Plenty of good restaurants close by, as well as a McDonalds!! Only criticism is that rooms do not have individual temperature controls and the heat was excessive - even for an Australian from Brisbane!

Modern Hotel with Metro right downstairs

The hotel is really modern and has high-end rooms which you would like to experience in a modern Italian city like Milan. The metro is right downstairs which is super convenient, and you will feel safe since its right on a high-traffic shopping street. There is also plenty of food options, even including sushi and indian food. The concierge was EXTREMELY helpful with the best service in English to help us plan our day trips as well.

Hotel Fenice at Porta Venezia

Hotel Fenice is more than satisfactory for one's stay in Milan. It is clean and comfortable and quiet. The location is at a nice central spot with Porta Venezia Metro station at the door step so coming and going from the hotel by Metro is effortless. Hotel is midway between Stazione Centrale and major attractions like Duomo and Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, both on the path of the Red Line. The natural pace would be to walk Corso Venezia toward Monte Napoleone and the Duomo and intersect Via della Spiga and Via Borgospesso shopping lanes.

One note of clarification. Hotel Fenice returns multiple flag locationa all along Corso Buenos Aires from Loreto, Lima to Porta Venezia. The correct location is Porta Venezia.

Lastly, the wifi strength is weak. No connectivity could be made inside our room. If internet access is critical, might double check there is at least a common area where secure access is attainable.

I will be stay there again

It's so convenience and staff are very helpful. Shopping or tour the city, it's the perfect location, you can drop your shopping bag anytime, only €3.00 one day travel card and €5.50 for two days. I will recommend everyone if they want to go.
