Check in very smooth. Avoid the stairs as on level 1 there is a very lose edging and i slipped down it. Bathroom in my pod. Well the light never came on, couldnt find a switch, shower not hot and leaked everywhere ! Dirty and very unsanitary. Rooms were ridiculously hot. Asked to turn heat down (im 53 so need it cooler lol), she said ahe would but nothing was done.

This place has seen better days and really needs an upgrade. The reception and bar area are soulless and give a bad first impression.

My superior pod with a door was clean, but not remotely soundproof — whoever decided to build these metal boxes needs to rethink the design.

The bathrooms were the worst part: filthy, with orange scum in the showers and a general feeling of neglect.

It’s obvious this hostel used to be decent, but it’s been left to deteriorate. With some investment and care, it could get back to what it once was.

It was such a pleasant surprise to find this affordable jewel right in the center of Milan. I was able to travel to and from it via bus from the main train station. Check-in was easy. They no longer provide a drink at reception. I was provided a unique door code for my assigned dormitory as well as a door code for my individual pod. My pod was neat and as described. There was one towel and a set of clean sparkling white bedding. It was enough to suit me. I could stand completely up with plenty of headroom. The TV didn't work, but that was not a deal breaker for me seeing that there was a strong wifi that I was able to use with my phone. The shared bathroom was just a few doors away. It was clean and remained that way during my entire visit. I did visit the kitchen area located on another floor, and I found it clean and tidy. I didn't sleep well due to my inconsiderate neighbors coming in very late and talking for hours. There's little to no soundproofing. I really should have put on my earplugs, but I was afraid of not hearing my alarm clock and oversleeping. I passed on the shower and just used the towel and sink to brush my teeth and wash my face. In addition to the bath towel, I would suggest the hotel provide each pod with their own individual bath mat. The same wet and used one (not sanitary) remained on the floor. As I was leaving, I passed by the delicious looking complimentary breakfast buffet. I definitely would stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

Staff was cool. Wi-Fi was a challenge as a ‘social media hostel’. Kept getting knocked off while in my capsule space or not connecting at all. Had to go into a common area downstairs. For me- I booked a private capsule- since made of metal- the sound was like a tin can. But served the purpose. Bathrooms- definitely could have been kept up better. Always wet floors or wet towels on floor. Having continental breakfast and coffee included was nice.

It was a clean, comfortable and easy to find hostel not far from the main train station and about 20min walk to plazza duomo. The staff were friendly and the self serve breakfast was delicious. There are a few comunal areas and a terrace where you can chill. The bathrooms were large with toiletries and hot water.

They hit the price point very well! The location was great and the staff was fantastic. They gave wonderful recommendations and my stay was better because of them.

The sleeping conditions are fine, pretty much exactly what I was after. Nothing special and the price was the main point. I wasn’t spending much time there anyway. The continental breakfast was good!

I arrived late which may have been why I was assisgned to the top pod. It is seriously dangerous climbing down from it. I need fell numerous times. Almost 40 so still pretty flexible. Once you are in your pod it’s fine and the privacy is nice. The bathroom on our floor was not the cleanest. The location is good and they gave a voucher for 10% off drinks at a local bar. Shout out to Stephen who owns the bar.

Warm welcome on arrival and free drink a bonus.
Room was compact but fine for our needs. We were in a very quiet room. Bed was so comfy. Room got hot in night. Shower/toilet right next door.
Breakfast next day was lovely and plentiful.
Location about 25 mins walk from train station. Easy to find.

Ostelzzz in Milan has a fantastic staff who are friendly and dedicated. However, the hostel falls short in a crucial area: cleanliness, especially in the bathrooms.

A hostel should provide two essentials: a comfortable bed and a decent shower. Unfortunately, the shower facilities here need a serious upgrade. I urge the owners to invest in improving this aspect.

This review focuses solely on the facilities and is in no way a reflection on the wonderful staff.

The hostel photographs better than its actual conditions; in real life, the common spaces themselves are not terribly inviting. However, the sleeping pods have more privacy than usual for a hostel-like accommodation. There's even space for your backpack inside the pod (but a suitcase would probably be too big). Having ensuite bathrooms inside the rooms is convenient. The included breakfast is limited in scope (and I recommend getting there early because they run out of a lot of things).

Unfortunately I cannot recommend anyone to stay at Ostelzzz no matter the cost. I booked a double bed pod and was pleased with the photos only to arrive and the hostel looks nothing like them.

First of all, the lobby doesn’t have a real reception desk, just a fold out table. The workers were helpful but as I went to my pod I saw that there were someone’s used socks in my pod, and the room was dirty with hair on the floors. The bathroom was also dirty with mold on the walls and hair on the floors. It was completely unsanitary and unprofessional.

The bathrooms are quite dirty and the water was not very hot.

The bed was comfortable but the locker did not work. Although my stuff was still there when I returned thankfully!

The pictures shown on Expedia did not match the bunk I was given. I expected a single cabin but I was in the top cabin. Did not expect to have to climb. It was also quite warm in the rooms, and wasn’t too warm outside. So I can imagine would be quite unbearable in the summer.

For the price though I guess it was okay. If I was to return, I would potentially stay here again and pay for a private room.

The staff was nice enough. The free welcome drink was kind. The bathroom was messy and since the shower is in the only bathroom for the dorm everything was wet. The lock for the locker above the bed was broken. The bed was clean and so was the bedding and towels. The mattress was comfortable. I’m 6’3” and my head touched one wall and my feet the other, so I wouldn't recommend staying if you’re taller. It was fine for one night but i don’t think I would do any more than that.

Quite a few issues with my cabin e.g. locker for belongings not working or missing hooks BUT the staff dealt with this quickly and easily.

Definitely get the welcome drink - I got mine on day3 as pre-dinner prosecco - and breakfast buffet is fine even though some of the fruit put out is a bit bruised.

i room i share with other people smell really bad. the restroom was dirty. the sink was clog so i had to use the restroom in the hallway. it was just an uncomfortable stay . check in was a hassle and had to wait until exactly 3pm to check in. there was a line of people by that time. i don’t understand why they can’t check you in and tell you to wait until 3pm to get your space? it would be so much convenient. i wanted to experience stay at a hostel but i guess i pick the wrong one.

If you have ever dreamt of sleeping on the sun, then this is the place for you! Jokes aside, they really should remove AC from their list of amenities because the units located around the hostel might as well be for show. We were boiling hot overnight, making the stay not restful at all - we literally had to use our wet towels as blankets to keep ourselves cool. And given that everyone must be as warm and sweaty as we were, the rooms absolutely stink. The bathrooms themselves were also questionable at best, with water all over the floor and leftover used towels for days. But hey, at least the water is always freezing cold to help you beat the heat (i.e., no hot water). The technology at this self-proclaimed \"social media hostel\" is also lacklustre (the tv screen in our pod didn't work, not sure what it was for though) and the pictures are all clearly from a time long past. It would probably be a decent place given the solid location and cheap drinks, but the experience really was ruined by the lack of comfort. They are charging far too much for what they are offering.

I was really excited for this property I was traveling with my daughter. We booked a deluxe pod and I walked into this knowing it was a hostel with pods.

Pros near Milano train station and walkable to duomo 30 mins, included breakfast.

Cons the pods are very hot. We went in May and the temperature outside was 70 and cooler at night. Our pod was extremely warm and uncomfortable due to the heat. There is no ventilation. If they provided fans or AC in them that would make such a difference. I couldn’t imagine staying there in summer with all the heat and trapped in the pod. Another con the outside doors to the pods to let some fresh air in don’t open. There are stairs to get down into the hotel which stinks with luggage. The pods themselves are pretty loud just walking around the metal bowing and bending. They have laundry which we did however the staff failed to mention the dryer was broken so we washed our clothes and were left with damp clothes which honestly really pissed me off. I would have rather not done my laundry then have to pack damp clothes.

Overall I would not stay here again. It was a great concept and with some fans it would make all the difference.

The Conceptual design of the pod o bed capsule is very good. Although needs some tuning; it is very noise because the metal construction and made it very hot at night.

The pod concept is fabulous for tight budgeted travelers, you have hostel prices while not having some of the hostel drawbacks. BUT, the room door was broken, so no exactly safe and sound for my belongings and gets quite noisy in the morning, each pod has a locker but those make such a creeping sound when opening and closing.

Only 1 small downside is that the cabins let in a lot of light at night. Other than that a great little place to stay when I’m milan in a budget.

The number 1 hostel in Milan!

This hostel is magnificent. It's the best and the number 1 in the city of Milan.
I fully recommend it to anyone.

The only thing I would like to let the staff or the administration to know, is that sometimes they forget to reset the code of the lockers at every check-out of the guests, so that the new comers that arrive and check-in can simply use the locker to place their stuffs.

Last time, I couldn't use the locker because it was locked, but I didn't know the code to open it.

Perfect for a solo traveller

I see the owners spent a lot of money on the hostel and they muste have been short of it, since the hostel was opened unfinished. There were self check-in machines but I was advised to check with the staff. There was no reception -just laptop and bunch of papers on a table. Not professional. They had a laundry/ironing room and luggage storage which didnt have lock with them? A kitchen. Everyone had their own capsule with a locker for bag (not as big as a carry on) everything was metal and it was just too loud when moving around. No place to hang your clothes beside one in the capsule (no hanger provided). My capsule had hair all over it. Otherwise it was cleaned daily. Complimentary italian breakfast. I liked my stay since it was confortable and gave me a lot of privacy but the details make the picture. No ventilation in the capsule and thus it was too hot with closed curtains. Automatic light in the bathroom annoyed me. Early in the morning and late in the evening there was no main light-just a small light in the mirror. Staff was reay nice and spoke english well-here no complaints.

It was genuinely one of the best hostel I have ever stayed. The closed-cabin type is a brilliant idea that made you truly feel like you have your own room. The space is the most spacious space I had staying in a hostel.

They let you use the laundry for free, and the thing I love the most is the ensuite restroom is very modern, extremely spacious and clean. The location is around a few minutes next to the train and tram station, and the cafe shop in the corner of the street nearby is lovely.

My mother, who took the trip and stayed at the Ostelzzz, have nothing but good things to say about this place. Here are the things she had to say:
Location- It was a little hidden but it was a little easier for her to find, since she had a “google map view” of the street and front of the property. It was quiet, since the surrounding properties were apartments. Although it was a little walk to the train station, she didn’t mind at all.
Property- According to her experience, she liked how modern and clean it was. Although it was more fitted to younger guests, she was impressed with the cleanliness of both public and private places. The bathroom was messy at times, since there are 4-6 people in each room, but she mentioned that the people who work there tries to maintain it properly. The 24hr open lobby also helps, since travelers like her who needs to adjust to the time and is up late.
Room-She was impressed with the cleanliness and bedding of the room. Despite the small space, she liked the privacy feel of the capsule. Everyone still had their space. Each room had a number pad lock and made her feel safer. Inside her “capsule”, she had a small storage, a tv, a plug for charging, a mirror and a small space edge to put her small items on. She also had two light settings which she liked.
Customer service- She was impressed by the service. They were kind and helpful. Even gave her a late breakfast when she would miss the breakfast.

The description for double capsule is misleading. There is no private bathroom, shower, amenities, nothing. You get a metal box in a very noisy dorm for a normal hotel price. The staff seems aware of it and probably they use this lie to attract more clients. So basically it’s a scam!

Great place. The pod system is great, especially with ac and comfortable beds and a lot of privacy. Not really sure why it's a social media hostel, maybe they just provide wifi. Not good branding.
Also the bathroom on my floor was broken so we had to use the one on a different floor which only has 1 shower stall. So that wasngr great.
But it was clean and comfortable and convenient.

GREAT :D but someone stole our corn

Whats amazing: great service, super friendly, super clean, pods super comfy, the staff really went of their way to accommodate needs, luggage storage, tasty croissants, awesome air conditioning

Not so great: WIFI was poor and only worked in lounge/dining area but even then it would disconnect often, breakfast options were a little limited

Note: Make sure you label your food and keep your stuff secure because someone stole our corn from the shared fridge (this is not the hostels fault) but now we can look back at this experience and laugh about it

Stayed 3 nights, and it was great! Love the concept! Service minded staff 😊
The sleeping area was ok considering there was place for at least 8 people there. Felt somewhat privacy. Had a good experience, and totally recomend it!

i'd come back

for a brief stay to catch a flight the next day, it was more than sufficient. i like the bathroom inside the dorm rooms because it was spacious. there weren't many people there so i was able to use it comfortably. the pods were also good for privacy and check in was very fast and easy. the pin code and room lock were not functioning that well though. and the free breakfast and free croissant throughout the day were both great as well.

The staff was great, super helpful. The capsule isn’t huge but definitely enough. The bed is comfortable since everything is new, if more hooks added inside will be even better. The capsule itself is made of metal so any kind of movement might create sounds. The bathroom is pretty clean over all, staff does clean it regularly. If they can fix the toilet seat and the shower water overflowing problem, maybe adding some shelve inside the shower for soap, it will be perfect. Breakfast is good considering it is included. About 5 mins walk to the Lima station (can easily get to all the attractions), and about 10-15 walk from the Centrale Station. Overall really enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again next time I visit.

Very new capsule hostel, but not everything is working yet. It has a lot of potential though. Maybe they should have waited a bit longer to start their operations.
Capsule was comfortable and good for sleep.
Common toilet was not very clean and had water all over the floor.

Wow. Amazing. clean. futuristic. friendly

what can i say about this place..i booked 1 night to see how my first \"hostel\" experience will go...within minutes of arriving i thought this is the place where i will extend and stayed 6 nights in total.

This is a unique mix of hotel and hostel in 1. Each room has 6 pods which are small but multi purposed clean with space to put your luggage. Then it has 2 cabins per room which are private fingerprint access to your cabin. A bed, table, mirror, seat and electronic sunroof. compact but perfect size.

I went partly for work and had good wifi in rooms or in the restaurant which had comfortable seats, tables and charging points.

I partly went for tourism and found the main Duomo catherdal only a 20min walk straight from the hotel. And even closer was the main Beaunos Aires shopping street behind the hotel 1min away.

Location was excellent.

Price per night was very reasonable compared to location and breakfast included.

Breakfast was limited but quality. Fruit jiice and hot drinks and the amazing tasty croissants like no where before and bread/cakes/jam etc.

staff were so friendly and at hand 24hrs a day at your call. Fabio and Valarie and Cristanio and all the staff were amazing and their cheerful greeting in the mornings really positive and helpful.

The large screen in the restaurant was excellent to watch football matches on too.

I hope to return again
