This was my hotel I was to stay after my visit to Nepal as quarantine. Miraculously the quarantine stopped 3 hours before I arrived in Ankara.
I want to thank the staff and especially the manager for helping maneuver the quarantine requirements.

Stay was fine. Hotel and room were clean. Breakfast was very good. Room was a little small, however, I am the one that chose it so my fault. Can't compare to other rooms as I did not see them. Front desk folks were kind, courteous and helpful. Would stay there again. Very close to the Embassy and many restaurants within walking distance.

The facility is well-equipped with very quick hot water flow and an A/C so hot that you might have barely come across in a hotel which is very good at this cold season. However; most of the staff need a strict training in terms of hospitality - the bellboy who helped me with my luggages and the housekeeper at my floor being two of the exceptions.

The Best Value Hotel

I've never been to another hotel in Ankara, but this hotel is much much better than the Istanbul or Antalya hotels in this price range.
The staffs are helpful, breakfast was excellent, and the services were top notch.
Check-in process was quick, and they changed my room upon my request.
There're several restaurants and cafes around the hotel, and it's also close to the United States consulate. You may reach Kizilay in a few minutes by taxi for 10TL.
The only weakness is that the hotel has some smoking rooms, and I guess by some reasons the non-smoking rooms smell of cigarettes too.

Cozy hotel in trendy location

The location is great. Lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel room was neat and clean. The rooms do appear well worn and could use new towels and bedding. The WiFi could also be improved. It is really only suitable for checking email and maybe working on shared documents.

Great stay!

The hotel was a friendly place. Great welcoming staff. Very fast service.
The breakfast was great. Lots of varieties and hot dishes were a little different each day.
The room was in good size and very comfortable. A little old though but clean and the bath tub and the tree view from the window was so refreshing.
A little noisy at nights due to the night life of the area. But it all worth it.
I had a great time and totaly go back there in the future.

Small things make a difference

The staff were lovely but it's the small things that made a difference. My room overlooked a petrol station right from the first floor so I had to draw the thick curtains to cut the lights of the petrol station ceiling. But when that happened, I got no natural light either. There was a pillow menu on the bed telling me that there was a firm pillow in the closet - which wasn't there. And I nearly hurt my finger trying to open the closet door because it wouldn't flow properly on the railing.

This was so far the worst hotel experience i ever had in Ankara and at any Best Western facility around the world. The two men staying at the reception for overnight and morning shifts were really rude! I had a small accident in my room and they did not provide any emergency kit to stop bleeding in my head. The previous evening a friend came to bring me some water and stuff to eat since i was sick and they charged him 50 lira for a stay of almost two hours. We had to agree because the receptionist did not allow my friend to stay for more than 30 minutes claiming it is against the hotel rules. The fact that there was gas station next to the hotel is another point which i did not like. I won’t return there!

Worst hotel we have ever stayed\n

Room is terribly dirty full of dust abd very uncomfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom is also not clean. You can barely see yourself on the mirror in the room due to dust on it. Windows cannot be closed properly and you can feel yourself in a party at the night club which is just on the other side of the street. We have driwen for almost 700km and we had to wake up at 6 but no worries we did not wake up cause could not sleep because of the night club. It was terrible and if you think about this hotel for your stay think for second and third time

Stayed at this hotel for 8 nights. The front desk staff could not have been any more helpful. The hotel is located well for shopping and night life but gets very noisy at night (particularly at the weekends). Free wifi worked well and the breakfast was good but it needs an update on decor.

If you are a non smoker like me stay away from this hotel. Even my room was non smoking room there was smoke that kept me awake all night long. Every floor has smoking room next to non smoking room. Even though I paid for 7 nights I had to find a different hotel after 3rd night.

I stayed at this hotel for couple of weeks. Location is perfect, close to everything you will need, walking distance to everything, restaurants, pharmacy, shopping stores, grocery store, etc..Room size was a bit small, but clean. Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful, front desk BORA and HAKAN were always helpful. And HASAN and IDRIS were always ready to open the door for you, offer help to carry your bags, greeting you when coming and going with big smile. I will come back to this BEST WESTERN, and the price is right.

I felt like I was bothering the front desk staff when I arrived to check in. He was curt, just checked us and didn't offer any welcome or tell us anything about the breakfast or other amenities.

Also, the lobby was real dark with lights out. First I thought they might be closed but it seems that was the norm. Additionally, the hallways and stairways are dark and have motion sensor detectors to turn on the light. I commend them for not wasting energy but it also makes the hotel feel creepy. Another thing that I found odd was the furniture in the lobby. They were upholstered with plastic material. Not vinyl but plastic!

Breakfast was traditional breakfast and was good with different varieties of cheese, bread, olives, etc.

I will say my complaints first: the room was quite warm and the air conotioner didn't work. It was freezing outside but still too warm inside. They offered to change rooms but we had way too much stuff and we had already settled in. The door lock malfunctioned several times (3) before it was fixed. The breakfast on most mornings was cold (things that should have been hot). Not 4 Star service in the restaurant but it was okay. Now the good things: the housekeeping staff was very nice ...really all the staff. The location, even though a bit noisy outside (even at night) is close to some nice areas for shopping and is a five minute walk to the American Embassy. Good restaurants near by; I would stick with the Turkish food ...although I like Turkish food.

This was the second time I was staying at this hotel. Last time I stayed at a renovated room on the second floor, but this time I had an old room on the fourth floor: older dirty carpet, cracked bathroom sink, and mold around the bathtub. Still, the overall experience is positive as long as you don't need to ask front dest for any information. Out of three guys I met at the front dest, non could understand anything further than the most basic English. And could certainly not be of help. Had to rely on the internet for that matter. Lastly, the hotel's location/neighborhood is great, which is why I will choose to stay at this hotel again.

Good - but getting a little tired

Good location for the restaurants and shops of this Embassy/Hotel area, not so good for the museum and castle. Excellent breakfast in attractive restaurant, good wi-fi, efficient and friendly service. Our room was on the small side, as was the bathroom, and both were looking a little tired. However, the beds were comfortable, the water was hot andeverything worked. Certain amount of noise from outside during the night, but nothing serious and no heavy traffic. Would happily return.

A terrible 4-star in a good location!

We checked in almost midnight, the blankets on the bed were dirty, we asked them to change it. We were tired and it was inconvenient.
The rooms are aged and damaged, need renovation. Water leaks out of the shower and after a quick shower the whole bathroom is full of water which is disgusting. The ceiling bears the traces of the water leaks from higher floor.
The hotel does not have any restaurants and it is not required at all, it is just in middle of many restaurants and cafés.

My weekend holiday was excellent! The staff was extremely helpful and very kind. Due to the holiday, the hotel restaurant was closed (as were most things in the area). The front desk staff called several places to find someone who would deliver dinner to the hotel. They eventually found a place and took care of everything.

Facility is aged & shows owner does not care

People are nice but it is way overpriced for the age of the facility. All the furniture is chipped and damaged. The bathroom have had numerous repairs and are unsightly. Towels were small and thin. My room was so small it had with only 1 or 2 feet on each side of a full size bed. Seriously, seriously over priced. Non working swimming pool- just a joke. In the States it would be a 2 star hotel at most.

Im sure that hotel was state of the art 10yrs ago

After two weeks exploring Turkey from Istanbul to Izmir the Hotels booked last minute on the road side through your site were by far incredible. However, our last minute voyage to Ankara from Istanbul, I looked thru the pletora of hotels in that city, none of which seemed close to where we were at 1 am in the morning and the idea of exploring a city of 33million at 1 am was not at all how I wanted to spend my night. Its a very long car drive thru incrdible mountains on a 1st class highway with thousands of trucks. a real nail bitting drive at 170km an hour one minute to a sudden stop the next.
Looking at the pictures of this hotel it seemed comparative to the previous hotels we chose, so I booked it.
Upon arriving we were greated with a boy friend and girl friend fight outside. no real front door enterance to pull our car up too though the front door guy was nothing but polite and kind. The night desk guy was far from accomidating until his mananger which he had to call instructed him to be I guess. The bell man escorted us to the room where the bathroom in other hotels was bigger and the smell of cigaretts was so overwhelming in a non smoking room coming in from all vents. Cracks and holes in the wals and dirty carpet.
What choice did I have at now 2:30 am so the three of us, me and my two children piled into bed together as the room was too small for a cot and I was again the only one unable to sleep sleeping in the crack.
The following morning we woke up just as the breakfast was being put away. However I called to the front desk and this kind man said come down and I will have something made for you. He was the Manager from the night before. He was appologetic and offered a better room if we stayed .. but we had to go.

Best Western Hotel in Ankara, Turkey

The hotel is close to the center of the city. Close to American Embassy and a lot of restaurants. Also the management is extremely friendly and kind.
The breakfast is wonderful and the rooms are clean. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

The best westren hotel 2000 in Ankara

The hotel is claen but needs more renovations for the plumping and painting internal room, the staff did not bring the daily 1.5 liter complementary water as long as you did not ask.
The staff are friendly
The breakfast need to give more attention and I recommend to make changes in menu daily

The hotel is very convenient to shopping. There are plenty of good restaurants close by. Although the room I had was very small, it was clean and quiet. I think there are bigger rooms in the front of the hotel but they would be on a noisy street. The breakfast was excellent. There might be better hotels but you would have to pay more or it wouldn't be in such a good location.

Good location, okay hotel

In my room, the shower leaked water all over the floor, but the hotel gave me a different room.
The hotel pamphlet mentions that drinking water is delivered every day, but I did not get any water until several days after I complained.
The hotel pamphlet mentions that amenities such as a toothbrush and toothpaste are provided when requested, but I requested these and the front desk refused. Several days after I wrote a complaint (by which time I had already acquired the items), I was given 2 of the 4 amenities I requested.
The air conditioner is reversed, so I had to turn it to \"heat\" in order to cool the room. The thermostat does not allow for fine-tuned adjustment.
The wireless internet password mentioned in the hotel pamphlet is incorrect.
The English skills of some of the staff at the front desk is very poor.
Breakfast is very good.
The location is good.
When I was there, there was a man walking the streets every day yelling \"EHHH! EHHH!\" at the top of his lungs starting at a very early hour.
Some of the cleaning staff smell so bad that they left my room smelling like their body odor.
There is an apartment complex right next to the hotel, and if your room is next to it, the inhabitants can see in.

Reasonable rates, good location, but some drawbacks which reception promptly fixed

Convenient location and reasonable room rates. Some street noise, particularly at the front and one side of the hotel. However double glazing made up for this. Two complaints:
(1). The airconditioning only blows cool air when the ambient temperature outside reaches a level that is locally considered as hot. This may differ from what someone from the north of Europe considers as warm. ie we thought it was warm yet the air con would only heat the room not cool it with no choice in the matter!!!! Hence we had to have the window open which then negated the excellent double glazing which then made it noisy! We asked the management to set the aircon to cold but we were told it was impossible until the weather outside warmed up! Really illogical.
(2) A greater concern was that some of the rooms are 'smoking' so smell strongly of cigarette smoke, so make sure you ask for a no smoking room if you don't smoke - we hadn't . However, the duty manager, Bora, was extremely efficient and promptly moved us to a much more acceptable room where the air was fresh and clean.
If Best Western management read this, please make the aircon settings more flexible and make more of your rooms non smoking - this would add another star to your rating as far as I'm concerned. Apparently small points but very important to a north European who isn't used to your warmer climate, and doesn't smoke.
Once again though, the staff, particularly Bora, were highly efficient and very courteous.

This hotel is absolutely not a 4-star hotel, not even in its heydays. The rooms are uncomfortably small, the furniture is old and dingy, and with the staff it depends on whether the nice manager is on duty or not. I suspect most guests are attracted to this hotel because of its location and proximity to the US Embassy, but there are nicer hotels in the vicinity that do not cost a lot more.

Banyo duş ve lavabo giderleri tıkalıydı..2. gün odamı değiştirmelerini istedim aldığım cevabı aynen aktarıyorum \"..zaten yarın tadilata gireceğiz, eğer bir gün daha uzatacaksanız değiştirip tadilatı biten odalardan verelim..\" Yani ertesi gün tadilata gireceklerinden çıkmam gerekeceği için oda değiştireceklerdi, müşteri memnuniyeti için falan değil..Meğer bana yenilenmiş değil, yenilenmesi gereken eski odalardan vermişler..72 yaşındayım, otel işletmeciliği de yaptım ama böyle bişey ne yaşadım, ne gördüm ne de duydum. 2 Yıldızı da sadece kahvaltı servis personelinin düzen tertip güleryüzlülüğü için verdim, sadece onlara teşekkür ederim. Ha bir de alt bodrumda 2 kat garaj olmasına rağmen arabaları dışarıda bırakıyorlar, neymiş giriş çıkış zormuş.. Adam koymaktan kaçınıyorlar belli ki.. o zaman otoparkım var ve 4 yıldızım demiyeceksin kardeşim, bu anlattıklarımı düşünüp 3 yıldız bile edermiyim diyeceksin
