The staff was nice and the pool area was beautiful, but the rooms are very old and they use an overwhelming amount of cleaner in the rooms so you feel like you are being fumigated. The beds are like rocks. The rooms need to be renovated. The breakfast was good.

Fabulous location, and amenities. The private beach is spectacular. The hotel is dated but unique and charming. Our only issue was that a friend who was staying nearbyvisited us and the hotel staff refused to serve him coffee and was rude to him and us.

Absolutely incredible hotel! I stayed there for a week early June 2025 with my daughter on a half-board with dinner arrangement. The food is incredible. Breakfast in the buffet with an enormous variety. Three course meals for dinner. All the amenities of the hotel are great, the beach is perfect and the overall ambiance is outstanding. We surely enjoyed our stay. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place with an old school, retro vibe. The front desk staff and everyone else we encountered was very helpful. Beach was great, as was the pool. We didn’t have dinner there so can’t comment on that but breakfast had a huge variety and the pool bar was a nice amenity and not terribly expensive.

This hotel is absolutely stunning and the view of Tavolara Island is perfection!
My only complaint is the staff. We were celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary this day and asked if we could have the possibility of a room upgrade. No, hotel was full and that’s fine! My husband then asked if there was the possibility of anything to celebrate with such as a bottle of champagne, wine or dessert. All they said was “no”. We travel every year on our wedding anniversary and we have never been treated so cold. If they couldn’t give us anything, then so be it. A smile and a Happy Anniversary would have been nice :)
No early check-in was allowed. We couldn’t have a window seat at dinner because they were “reserved” (we also had a reservation).

Rudest staff I've ever encountered, with the exception of the front desk staff and the girl bussing the breakfast area. The longest wait ever to be served dinner which is why we only had dinner there once. Property is extremely dated and in serious need of updating. Would never return or recommend.

First of all, the sorrounding views of this hotel is simply stunning. I don't know how many photos I actually took! The beach and pool area are just gorgeous. The decor of inside the hotel is also classical and elegant. The restaurant area just perfect.

We started our honeymoon trip to Italy at this little slice of paradise. I can’t say enough good things about the resort. It has everything you need in one place, and we felt we got so much value included with the nightly rate. Access to SUP, kayaks, a private and beautiful beach, the pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, and free fantastic breakfast buffet. The room was well appointed, if we could, we would have spent our whole vacation there. Just lovely.

Wonderful hotel located on an incredibly beautiful beach with lots of amazing scenery. The hotel and restaurant employees are so friendly, efficient and very helpful. The sunsets and views from our room were absolutely stunning!!! We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner here and all meals were absolutely delicious! I can’t say enough positive things about this place. Highly recommend for a nice, stress-free and relaxing break.

The hotel and staff are really fantastic. Being highly critical, the initial feeling was that some of the hotel looked a little dated. However by the end of the trip we were very reluctant to leave.

Great place to stay. On the beach which is safe to swim and there is a lifeguard. Very clean facilities and everyone was really pleasant and helpful. Rooms are serviced twice a day and even towels are changed! Hotel staff work really hard to make sure all your needs are met.
You do need a car to explore the coastal areas and other restaurants nearby.

What a great place to stay. If you're looking for a romantic and relaxing getaway, this is the place to stay! Everyone here is wonderful! We found this hotel online. As soon as we arrived they checked us in and greeted us with a cold beverage which was very welcome after our travels. We really really loved this place & were sad to move on, everything about it is perfect . It's so cosy, spotlessly clean, quiet & relaxing & above all the staff are so welcoming , friendly & unbelievably helpful .
They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed and ensure that all your needs are being met during your stay. We absolutely loved this place because it was built to feel like it is part of the island. We will be back!

We stayed for four nights and left feeling completely relaxed! The view from the breakfast terrace is stunning. The hotel staff are very friendly but not at all overbearing. The room was perfect - plenty of storage space, a large bathroom and a free safe. The food in the restaurant was delicious although we also found a very nice pizza restarant in the nearby Porto San Paolo which was very good value for money.

Tolles Hotel in perfekter Lage
Das Hotel Don Diego ist wunderbar gelegen, man hat einen tollen Blick auf das Meer. Das Hotel verfügt über einen Privatstrand incl. kostenloser Liegen und Schirme. Der Strand ermöglich einen angenehmen Zugang ins Meer (keine Steine am Boden). Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Frühstück wunderbar. Parkplätze gibt es in der unmittelbaren Nähe, man findet eigentlich immer einen Stellplatz. Restaurants gibt es leider nicht fußläufig, man fährt mit dem Auto immer min. 10-15 Minuten. Alternativ kann man aber auch im Hotel zu Abend essen. Beim nächsten Besuch auf Sardinien kommen wir ganz bestimmt wieder hierher.
