Enjoyed my stay here. I had booked a Junior Suite with a balcony but after checking in, I noticed my room did not have a balcony. The whole reason I booked this place was because of the balcony which was advertised as a feature of the Junior Suite. The receptionist, Elisenda Hernandez, was very understanding and sorted me out with an upgrade to the Junior Suite Deluxe which had a big balcony. I was very happy with how quickly she sorted this for me.

The room was very clean, modern and spacious.
The TV location was perfect as it could be twisted to face you when in bed or on the sofa in the lounge area. It also had a microwave, handy for reheating any food brought back from restaurants.

The breakfast was included and consisted of a buffet. As a Brit, I love my English breakfast, so I was glad to see English breakfast options. Very pleased.

The dinner options were not great for people who don’t eat meat so I ended up eating dinner elsewhere each night.

The hotel is in such a good location. You have a supermarket just a minute walk away, Yumbo shopping centre is about 5 mins walk away and the beach is less than 10 mins away. The sand dunes are also only about a 10 min walk away so you don’t have to worry about getting taxis or anything.

Loved the location, the hotel and my balcony! I would never book a hotel without a balcony again - it’s so convenient and lets you enjoy the sun in your own private space. Exactly why I booked it in the first place.

Great location just a 5 minute walk from the Yumbo. The team who clean the communal areas twice a day are amazing. Breakfast very good. Clean comfortable rooms. Room 506 is next to the kitchen and deliveries start at 05:50 with people shouting, we were moved after complaining!

Great location, nice pool area and quiet. Short walk to the Yumbo center, and a great supermarket 2 mins away. Easy to get to the beach too.

Breakfast is very good, staff friendly and I liked the room too.

They were slightly slow on sorting out a drainage smell and the air con was broken too.

Booked here for a seven night stay.We arrived a couple of hours early. We were met by very friendly reception staff who informed the room was ready and could check in now as room was ready. Brilliant start.The room was 1104 which was big with a balcony on 11th floor.The balcony only got a small amount of sun during the early morning but still nice to in the shade in the afternoon or evening with a glass of wine. We booked half board and enjoyed our evening meals for five nights and ate out two nights. Food was very good and breakfast was lovely.The hotel ,rooms,hallway and grounds were spotless. all staff were friendly and a credit to the hotel.Will be back for sure.

We specifically booked a room via Expedia with swimming pool views and we were assigned a room with the opposite views...
Hotel said it was Expedia fault...
Expedia said it was the hotel fault...
We had to wait 2x nights before we could move to a room with swimming pool views and had to pay extra for that...
No compensation was given whatsoever for the first t
wo nights on the 3rd floor. Hotel staff is nice and the cleaning is good.
When booking next time, book directly and not through Expedia.

Unser Aufenthalt war überaus angenehm, bis auf einige Mängel: ungemütliche Matratze, Pool ist nur bis 18:00 Uhr offen, man möchte am Ende des Tages noch ein bisschen länger dort entspannen und verweilen, das Büffet war teilweise aus den Gerichten vom Vortag gefüllt, die Gerichte hatten alle denselben Geschmack. Wir haben uns sehr über ein Upgrade gefreut, das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und die Sauberkeit war perfekt! Die Lage des Hotels ist ziemlich zentral, 10 Gehminuten vom Strand.

We loved that it's a recently refurbished hotel with clean and contemporary furnishings and decor. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool. As we were self-catering, it was useful to have cooking appliances and a lounge. Reception staff were friendly, one of the bar staff could have been more welcoming but apart from that everyone else was nice and helpful. Location is excellent, being a short walk to Yumbo Centre and the beach, also there was a supermarket just across the road and the bus stop was a 5 minute walk. Overall it was perfect for our 1 week holiday in Gran Canaria.

Anamar Suites is a solid stay for Playa de Ingles however felt more expensive than it’s worth. However the suites are dated and INCREDIBLY dark due to a lack of natural light. Small things left this a semi-frustrating stay including no sockets in convenient places, slow pool bar service (45 mins for a grilled chicken wrap) and the constant smell of cigarettes in the hallway.
The other guests weee generally older German couples and so was not very LGBT focussed (but this worked great for me as it was good to be able to separate the nightlife from day time pool hours)
That being said, I would stay again for the convenience, but I’d look at all options.

Clean and convenient hotel which is perfect for the beach and jumbo center access. Very convenient for the bus network too. The front
of the hotel and pool has a good sun exposure the back not so. The food for breakfast and dinner is good value with most of time great cooking. The staff are very good and welcoming except one very nausy and brusk member of staff who can make a hard beginning of the day. The hotel also spoil us on our birthday which was a good surprise. Overall a good experience and we will consider the hotel for our next visit to maspalomas. Thank you for the experience and meeting new friends

Stay for 4 nights fantastic place and location only thing I would say was that the Aircon was broken and did not get fixed as supposed to be waiting for a part. Communication on the problem was none existent even the app they tell you to use took them 2 days to answer me but this would not deter me from staying again as already booked.

Whilst the decor is a little tired and the public lounge area a bit small, this friendly hotel has much to recommend it. The bedroom arrangement with a kitchenette and seating area, large balcony, lots of sunbathing areas, three jacuzzis, and little quiet lounges on the 2nd floor. Only downside is the small lifts which can get a bit busy at mealtimes. If you want a quiet (no entertainment) hotel it is great.

Lovely small hotel in a fantastic location close to Yuma, Cita, and a local supermarket near by.
Furnishings are lovely, very comfortable
Pool is small but lovely as well comfortable seating.
Staff are super efficient and friendly.
Can’t comment on food as didn’t eat there

We had the super suite, we got the room we requested 8011 which has a super terrace with lots of seating options, and if your a sun seeker like me, gets the sun all day.
Not much shade though for those who don’t like direct sun.
Only one criticism as others have put, only one English speaking channel.

Lovely hotel, really comfy beds and spacious room (junior suite?) only 2 issues, the. Hotel offered incentives one being 1 free breakfast morning. Expected to just be able to use this incentive but arrived in the restaurant to be led to reception to be told we couldn't have it without completing a review. Then they got a pen and highlighted this condition even though I hadn't complained. Couldn't really give a review until the end of the stay so although a nice gesture not worth all the running around for sake of a few euros to eat out. Pool area is lovely but never enough beds for size of the hotel. The hotel is lovely though and spotless

Just back from here and was very disappointed this year,the staff working in the kitchen were handling the cutlery for breakfast etc with no gloves on as we could watch them from our balcony (not one hoot given regarding COVID).A couple of days we spent at the pool and no not once were the toilets cleaned,sprayed or even toilet roll replenished,they also advertise that the rooms have a 24 or 48hr empty period between guests for EXTRA COVID precautions the people next to us were barely out the street and the hotel had new guests in the room,rubbish and dishes lying around the corridors inside till late afternoon early evening,felt really let down especially choosing here as our first holiday since the pandemic 😷

Great location for beach goers, easy walk to and from the beach. The pool area was nice, but crowded. The food was tasty and plentiful at a very reasonable price. The front office staff was very helpful. They help us resolve a problem with our rental car, acting as translators, since our Spanish skills are limited. It's not a fancy or posh hotel but very comfortable with nice size and nicely appointed rooms. If we returned to the island we most likely would make this our first choice for lodging

Very happy with my room, very comfortable, clean, crispy bright white bed linen, beautiful relaxing decor and it was quiet.

The staff were very good. The room was bigger than I expected. The half board food option was well worth it as a large selection of breakfast and dinner to choose from that was available long enough for me not to have missed it once. I didn’t use the Poole area however it was well laid out and looked great if you wanted to do that. Very close to main route bus stop, beach and shops.

We stayed in the superior junior suite which was a lovely room, however, the experience was ruined due to the hotel renovating the room next to us during our stay! I cannot understand how they have the nerve to charge £1300 to stay in a room where all I could hear for 5 days out of 11 was solid drilling and banging! So much for a peaceful getaway.

After the 3rd day of continual drilling and banging, I went to reception to complain about the noise to be told 'it's the last day', which it wasn't as after the weekend it began again and was also asked 'are you going out?'

After 5 days the workmen completed the room only to commence work on the room adjacent. No apology, nothing.

This hotel wasn’t for us. From my experience it is not a 4* hotel. We cancelled our stay and went to a hotel we’ve previously stayed at. The manager of the hotel was very helpful and invited us to have dinner with him as an apology. It doesn’t tell you in the details but the hotel has over 90% German guests, who were quite rude to us.

Hotel is central to all main attractions
Few minutes walk from bus stop, Yumbo shopping centre, beach and lots of another places- small supermarket just across the road and Cita centre is 500m away.

Very clean (only negative were the foot marks on the walls in the bedroom). Furnished well ( not expensive but comfortable).

Negatives:the gym was just 4 pieces of kit, tread mill was out of order and the multi-gym cables were shredded so kept coming off the pulleys.. having said that they did did try to fix it as soon as it was mentioned (needs a new cable).

Great area close to the Yumbo centre and only 5 mins to the beach. Hyperdino supermarket 2 mins away along with lots of lovely restaurants. The hotel itself was very comfortable and the recently refurbished apartments were great. Bathroom was lovely with free toiletries, nice comfy bed, fridge, kettle and microwave. Just no sink to wash your dishes in....just the bathroom sink and no air con. But apart from that can’t fault it. Very quiet too.

Very clean ,superb bathroom with brill shower. No double bed but two singles unfortunately. Lacked a sink in the small kitchen area as the two cups, two knives and forks we had needed to be washed in the bathroom sink. Not good. Breakfast and dinner buffet really excellent. Reception staff need to be more informative as we weren’t told the bedroom door card also opened the rear doors to gain access to the rear road which saved a long walk to gain access to the beach road so you don’t need to use steps to get down to the beach. I also had to ask for a street map of the area which I would suggest should be given on arrival. The pool wasn’t heated hence hardly anyone used it. No air conditioning in the bedrrooms.Super balcony in the suite. Very clean hotel.Having said the above constructive comments it really is a nice place to stay and we really enjoyed our time and would stop here again

THe Anamar Suites

I would certainly recommend and stay at THe Anamar Suites again. Check in was smooth and the room was extremely clean, spacious and comfortable (Junior Suite).
Breakfast and Dinner provided a good array of food options and I especially liked the relaxed atmosphere, unlike some hotels which can be manic when i comes to dining.
The pool area was again very relaxed with light music playing in the background.
Location was excellent as it is 5 minutes to the Yumbo in one direction and 5 minutes to the Beach in the other, plus a supermarket over the road which provided most needs.
Overall, an excellent choice and I look forward to staying again.

A modern hotel which are few and far between in Playa. Great staff, rooms cleaned every day and fresh towels. I would stay here again without hesitation but would eat elsewhere.

Only issue I had were with the breakfast. Coffee wasn't nice, bacon was just the spanish fatty type with no meat, canned sausages - I guess as an English person we are acustomed to a proper english breakfast with quality bacon anf sausages etc. The orange juice was probably made from powder or something as sometimes it was too strong and undrinkable. To sum up, the \"quality\" of the food was of a low standard but a wide range of \"poor quality\" items. Lastly - most items were not replenished and remained empty for half an hour.

3rd visit for us, all rooms renovated. Request pool view as these are the only rooms that have sun on the balcony. Beds and pillows uncomfortable as they use mattress toppers which only added to the heat, it is unfortunate that they don't have air conditioners. Overall though, we like Anamar and if the price is right we will no doubt stay again. Staff are friendly, and it is a great location.

Great hotel with one big flaw

Great hotel but there's no air con, which made for a few uncomfortable nights sleep. They also said if we wanted a fan we'd have to rent one, which seemed a little ridiculous to us in 30 degree heat. Opening the balcony door didn't help, as people in the other rooms seemed to have some interesting night time habits...

The breakfast is brilliant though, there's a lovely pool area which wasn't too busy and everything you need (beach, restaurants, entertainment etc) is within a short walk.
The wifi is rubbish, doesn't work on one side of the whole place.

The best restaurant in the area is Allende 22°, or if you're in the Yumbo Centrum, Mana 264 and Valentines.

Would definitely go back if they installed air con.

Great stay at this particular hotel, no yobbish behavior that you would typically find in most tourist areas. Staff on site were very helpful and friendly, always welcomed with hellos and goodbyes.

The worst hotel ever

Arrived early at 10:45. I know check in doesn't start before 2:pm.
I asked if possible to check in earlier, rejected as hotel was full and was told to go around for 3 hours till room is ready instead of offering a cold drink or invite me to stay at the pool.
Came back at 13:30, asked if the room was ready, still not.
As I was waiting, 5 German guys walked in and checked in easily.The receptionist who checked them in, the same guy who helped me was very nice to them. At that time I was furious and approached the guy again and asked about my room. In a rude way, not yet, few more minutes.
Finally I got my room at 2:00 pm.
The same with the rest, don't smile and not helpful. They need to be trained with human touch.

Ask for a room not facing the busy road to the beach. Also be aware there at no fans in the rooms and you pay for WIFI.

Good value for money hotel

Very conveniently located hotel, close to beach and yumbo centre. New modern facilities and though bedrooms are dated, are comfortable and cleaned daily.
They have excellent staff who are very friendly and helpful, and provided individualised touches such as a surprise bottle of cava as a birthday present.

We stayed in a superior junior suite, but not all suites are equal. The terraces vary enormously, room 712 has a large terrace with 2 deck chairs, we got moved to room 1203 which has a massive terrace with 2 sun loungers and a separate seating area, absolutely fabulous. Both rooms are the same price! Inside the rooms are very similar. Stayed twice, once in May and never noticed the lack of aircon, second time in August. No aircon, it was stifling. I don't understand how a 4* hotel doesn't have aircon. But a great location, breakfast is average, dinner is better, great selection of food.

A clean, modern and pleasant hotel:)

The Amamar suites is a nice, up to date, clean and very pleasant hotel. Fabulous and helpful staff from reception to cleaners. Lovely pool area and dining area and very modern! The room's were tidy, airy and well decorated. Comfortable bed and and hardly any noise. This hotel is ideal for its location to the Yumbo centre, shops and beach. Only improvements would be : a fan in room as standard as it can get very humid. The plug sockets are so limited - and they don't like the adaptors as they fall out. And one socket was loose and wobbly. Its a shame a mini oven wasnt installed but the hob worked out fine. Would otherwise highly recommend :)

Friendly staff, excellent location (espcially for LGBT as it is so close to the gay bars) affordable prices and very nice hotel grounds.

Inside the room was a different story! The bed seemed very old and was very, very uncomfortable! My room was at the back next to a busy road and the bedroom window let in so much of the noise it woke me up constantly. Also, the bedroom curtains were very thin and let in the light very early in the morning. All in all, it made it very hard to get a good nights sleep. Worst sleep I've ever had in a hotel in fact - and I've stayed in some right pits!!

Perfect location, cozy

Hotel is in a good location - close to bus stop, shopping centre (Yumbo), beach, restaurant and much more :)

Apartment comprises of two rooms - both good size and clean.

Loved the food at the restaurant, staff - friendly and speak decent English, the pool area - very cosy, the pool is not very deep, but this did not upset us much

Would recommend this hotel and would like to come back!

Would certainly recommend.

Very nicely renovated hotel with fantastic rooms, very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast buffet was very good and waiting staff very friendly. The only small negative would be the slightly grumpy receptionist when first arriving to check in. Other than that would certainly recommend.

Handy and clean

Check-in lady was polite if rather sullen. However, when we saw her again she was quite smiley.

Room was very clean and more than adequately resourced. Pool area is gorgeous. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked and smelled good.

Hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the Yumbo centre, which is perfect for a stagger home after partying all night. (Our best was 7am!) Across the road you'll find a really great supermarket (great choice, well laid out, super clean).

Great budget hotel, quiet and clean

The mattress wasn't comfortable for me, but I took the sofa and that was perfectly good. My friend liked the mattress. The hotel staff were courteous and left us to our own devices. The rooms are very comfortable and quite spacious, very clean. The kitchen is basic and functional, but needs a spatula for fried eggs! A kettle would be good too, but we used the pots and coffee maker. We were at the back and the road is a little noisy and there was construction, but for the price we weren' t complaining. Altogether very comfortable. Thank you!
