We stayed here this week nearly 10 years after our first visit.The hotel has added an extra sun terrace and 2nd gym room. The staff are still fantastic. Overall good value and nice vibe.

That said...do bring earplugs...a couple of new bars have opened in the previously near-derelict La Sandia centre next door, including one on the terrace above a swinger bar and the music was loud/bad/late on a couple of nights.

Last minute holiday and so glad we picked GOLD. Perfect hotel with a nice vibe. Adults only so very chilled. We loved the long pool with the cabanas. Perfect sun trap for tanning and dipping in the shallow pool and when you wanted a bit of shade the cabanas provided just that.

Breakfast was brilliant especially being available until 12. I am not usually one for breakfast but ate it everyday it was so good! The food outside of breakfast is also delicious. Loved the Pad Thai and Prawn Tacos.

Conveniently close to the Yumbo and beach for dining and drinking options. Also close to bus stops for trips to other towns and beaches. Supermarket right next door with everything you need for you room or day trips.

We stayed in a terrace room and was excellent being able to nip in and out from the pool and lounge around in the afternoon sun.

Having never been to Gran Canaria I was really pleasantly surprised and will definitely book to stay again at this hotel.

Authentic Review: Stay between the 14th and 21st of June

We stayed at this hotel during mid-June. Although the hotel classifies itself as four-star, I would personally rate it more as a three-star property.

The staff were friendly. However, we requested a late checkout and were advised that we would need to pay €50 to stay longer.

Breakfast was of good quality, with a decent selection. The hotel is extremely well located, especially for those wanting to enjoy the Benidorm experience—it’s within walking distance to the beach.

I can only imagine that during peak season, the hotel would be very busy and it might be difficult to find available sunbeds. That said, it was refreshing during our stay to see no one reserving sunbeds with towels early in the morning.

There was a good mix of age groups staying here. Fortunately, there was no loud music around the pool, allowing people to sunbathe and relax in peace.

If you’re looking for a more upscale experience in the same general area, I would highly recommend checking out Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa, which is a genuine five-star hotel. It’s about a 7–10 minute taxi ride away (€10).

As for our current hotel, Golden by Marina markets itself as a freestyle experience but it’s not a full four-star as advertised. The room had a basic electric stove, fridge-freezer, and cooking utensils, making it more suitable for self-catering.

WOW .. .! this property is Excellent, it's a stylish, it's clean and fresh and the staff are wonderful. The location is perfect with easy access to the area either by foot or by transport. Best hotel in Maspolomas

I stayed as part of a group of friends and the hotel couldn’t be better. The staff were friendly from my check in to check out.

The pool area had ample beds, plenty of pool towels and beautiful tasteful decor all around. The rooms were large and with own kitchenette area was great for catering for breakfasts/mid afternoon snacks. There was a few supermarkets just two minutes walk from the hotel so even better.

Would come back to Gran Canaria to just stay at this hotel!

Such a lovely, serene, quiet hotel, right in the centre of town, not that you’d know it. Super close to the Yumbo and the beach. Great staff, fabulous breakfast, wonderful cocktails and our room had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying here.

I had a really relaxing stay over four nights in Dec 2022. The reception staff were excellent both at check in and check out. Cleaning was thorough each day. The pool areas are lovely and the location excellent for the beach.

The only small negative is being charged an extra 4 Euros per day for a room safe, which I've not experienced before. When you're paying 150 Euros per night for a \"Gold\" hotel it does feel like a budget hotel additional charge.

First time in this hotel and was really pleased with it. The bedroom was great with a south facing balcony. Rooms are cleaned every two days with fresh towels and bedding. The beds are really comfortable which is a bonus. The only downside is the situ of the toilet. Being a big girl makes it tricky, well let’s leave that there.
All staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. The pool area is amazing. Breakfast was included in our stay which was good, even had a choice of non dairy milks.

This hotel is spectacular. The attention to detail is wonderful. The general retro vibe is continued throughout the entire building from design and furnishings right down to the font used in it's signage. An ubercool space with a great pool and super comfortable sun loungers. The food at La Palmeira Sur restaurant at the front of the building was imaginative and possibly the best restaurant in Maspalomas. Definitely Michelin star quality and invention. Will definately be staying here on future visits.

I have to say the staff make this hotel excellent. Their service and attention to your needs is second to none. I encountered different staff, reception, cleaning, poolside, and all very attentive to your needs. My flight was 5hrs after checkout, they made arrangement to keep my luggage whilst I went to beach , and gave me a room to shower and change before heading off for my flight. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. For the price I was expecting a bit more luxury than I saw, but the service makes up for this by a long mile. I’ll recommend this place.

Excellent hotel, we’ve stayed in a few hotel in GC and this is probably our favourite so far. The hotel was apparently full, but there was always plenty of loungers and space. Lovely pool area and top service from reception to the pool bar. Make sure you dine at the hotel restaurant, GC isn’t a place for fine dining generally, but this was the best food we had in our stay.

Really nice hotel. Great friendly service. Excellent breakfast. The only downsides were the layout of the bathroom area. The shower is very large and it restricts access into the toilet. Also the bathroom sink is open to the bedroom meaning that light comes into the room. The towels are also a little on the tired side.

Incredible Boutique Hotel!
Terrace Double Room.

I had the great fortune to discover this amazing property on my recent trip to Gran Canaria, Spain. The Gold by Marina is an Adults Only hotel that is in the perfect location to all the happenings in Playa Del Ingleis, the hotbed for excitement in the southern end of the Island.

it's Proximity to all the shopping centers and to the famous Maspalomas naturist beach and sand dunes were the initial reasons I chose to stay here, however, after I arrived, I realized, that the highlight of my trip was not going to be the beach but the Hotel itself.

Great staff, impeccably friendly customer service all with a killer breakfast! The hotel capitalizes on its incredible pool by hosting daily themed events there, such as BBQ's, DJ's and Happy Hours.

My room was excellent and cleaned daily. The spacious waterfall shower was one of the two major highlights of the room, the other being the outdoor Terrace. Now, as is the case with most hotels in Spain, each room came with a balcony but the ground floor terrace, to me, was another spacious element that elevated this property in my mind

The hotel on the whole is the perfect size. Not too large as to be overwhelming or generic and not to small as to be lacking in amenities. I truly enjoyed my time with the Gold by Marina family and I look forward to booking my excursion to GC (Gran Canaria) and PDI (Playa Del Ingleis) with them again!

Great hotel in great location. We booked a superior room with sea view and they delivered on both counts. Nice little touches,such as being asked if we’d like any complimentary water for our journey to the airport when we were checking out (a tiny thing but done with a lot of style), and a complimentary breakfast on our first morning added to our very enjoyable stay.
Very very clean hotel with everyone attentive and friendly without being intrusive.

Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, beds super comfy, rooms spotless and the most comfortable sunbeds and pool area! Don’t have to move if you don’t want to they offer a bell if you’d like drinks,
Snacks etc delivering to your sunbed. Would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a nice adult only holiday where relaxation is a priority. Plenty of shops and restaurants close by and taxis plentiful and cheap to get you anywhere you want to go.

Hotel is very good, nice layout. Staff are amazing, very warm and welcoming and eager to help. The problem is the cleanliness. I have stayed here several times and this was the worst so far. Hairs on the sheets, on the shelf in the shower and on the shower floor. Clearly it wasn’t cleaned properly from the previous occupant. The day beds were covered in bird faeces most mornings, and when they weren’t; it was bits of food that were scattered over the beds from the day before. I’m not sure why these aren’t cleaned in the morning before people use them?

This is such a fab hotel, central to everything you need, shop next door, bars & beach within walking distance. Staff are excellent & help with anything you need. We had a late flight on the day we were leaving, we were able to leave our bags in storage & stay and use the pool area and then use a complimentary room for 30 mins to have a shower. This absolutely made our day, felt like we got an extra day in the place. Can’t recommend this enough & definitely get the breakfast, great selection.

Can’t wait to book to go again. This was the best holiday we’ve been on. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by really friendly staff who gave us a glass of bubbly while we checked in. The hotel room was amazing everything you could want and more. The hotel has different things happening each day whether it’s a drink with the general manager or a pool side DJ. The staff were extremely helpful and made recommendations where to go for food and things to do during our holiday. Anything we needed they were on hand to help with. The breakfast was brilliant anything you could want they had including a chef to cook any extra items. The food they serve by the pool side was really great too.

All the little touches provided by the staff at the hotel made this the best holiday we’ve been on. We’d recommend this hotel to anyone.

Warm, welcoming and helpful staff who were ALL excellent. Very clean and well presented room, however, if you have a standard room with a balcony, you are likely to look out over the road and have limited sunshine on the balcony.The pool area was nice and even when very busy, we found sun loungers.
Local area provides lots of places to eat and the hotel staff gave some great restaurant recommendations that were off the main drag. Beach area is close by and you can walk for miles....to sand dunes, lighthouse, other resort areas.

Very good facilities around the pool. Upon arrival to the restaurant it was busy, so we were put outside along the poolside area, it was covered over, but was cold and raining, heaters did there best. First impression was this is routine at peak times, yet surely laying the poolside tables with cutlery etc to be more inviting would help, it felt more like camping. The food was of a very high standard, everything you would want, disappointingly I couldn’t find warmed plates for the cooked food so it soon chillled, especially as we were put outside in the cold. Plate warmers would dramatically help!

The room was ok, the bed and bedding where clean in good condition, although I think could have been more luxurious, although the chocolate let each day was a nice touch.

We stayed 7 nights in a superior room with partial sea view, on the 7th floor. The view from the medium sized balcony was spoiled by several large hotel buildings. The room was very clean, with a comfortable double bed (the website stated 2 single beds). The bathroom had a huge shower cubicle, with a tiny toilet area. The wash basin area was partly open to the bedroom. . We did not prepay for breakfast, but were given a free breakfast on the first morning. The comfortably warm pool was open from 9 am to 5 pm. There was also a rooftop jacuzzi, big enough for 5 people. We did not use the hotel restaurant, whose menu was limited and rather expensive.

Hotel was very nice, staff very friendly and plenty of choice for breakfast which was open until midday so great if had a late night out. Lots of seating around the two pools but guests were allowed to dump beach towels on best seats and disappear for hours which is always really annoying. I suggest the hotel stop this going on as some days it was sunny but quite windy and you were forced to sit on more exposed seats despite others being empty! The hotel staff were very helpful and on our last day gave us a free extended check out as my wife was a bit poorly. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk to the beach and about 5 minutes walk to the Yubba Centre which has lots of bars and restaurants. As a heterosexual sexual couple we did not mind the Yubba Centre as everyone was very nice and the bars and food were fine. However it was basically 90% gay men and most of the entertainment were drag acts so at times we felt we did not totally fit in. So overall a nice hotel and holiday but don’t expect to return.

Excellent hotel where service is obviously a priority. The warm welcome on arrival to the service at breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. Comfort in style - just what we needed

Clean, modern and comfortable room with nice bathroom and big shower cubicle. Kitchenette has more facilities than needed. Bottled water every day is nice touch. Room cleaned daily. Friendly staff. Good location close to beach, shops, bakeries, supermarket and loads of restaurants. Very ‘gay-friendly’ hotel if that is important to you, but equally great for heterosexual couples.

Smart chilled hotel with amazing staff

The Gold by Marina brings a dash of Miami style to Gran Canaria. It’s situated within Playa Del Ingles close to shopping centres and a 15 minute walk to the beach.
The hotel has a really chilled vibe about it and the design is beautiful. Rooms are large and the entire hotel is very well maintained. It has two pools and lots of loungers to relax on. It even has a sundeck with an outdoor jacuzzi. Even though the hotel was full when I went I was always able to find somewhere to relax, either by the pool or on the sundeck.
Most importantly all the staff are really pleasant and helpful which makes a huge difference. I didn’t like the room I had first as it was at street level facing the road and a bit dark. The very next day I was moved to a room on the fifth floor facing the sea which was light and bright.
The external walkways around the building are a little scary if you don’t like heights but it’s worth braving it to get a better room.
Possibly the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, I highly recommend it.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel

What can I say.... what an absolutely beautiful hotel, from the glass of bubbly on arrival to the gorgeous colour schemes around the hotel, to the amazing breakfast spread.

This hotel is in a great spot, just a 5 min walk from the beach and a 10 min walk from the incredible sand dunes.

My husband and I both booked in for a massage at the hotel in the relaxation hut next to the pool on the second day there opting for a sports massage. This massage was done by Attie who was amazing... extremely thorough and very considerate to the pressure she was using. On our third day we opted for a full body relaxation couples massage and both Faina and Solya were also very thorough and we left feeling extremely relaxed.... lovely!

I would have no hesitation recommending this hotel and me and my husband would love to return.

Fab boutique style hotel

Our first holiday without children for twenty years. Lovely hotel in a quiet location but within very easy reach of beach and restaurants. We even walked to Melonares a couple of times for our evening meal. A great boutique hotel.

Miami South Beach just got closer...

Was looking forward to checking out this hotel after checking their website, interested to see how they would deliver on their very strong style / vintage concept. Fortunately they have got it completely right and it was better than I could have hoped. Additionally they have stuck to the concept without loosing any of the warmth, the staff are all friendly, relaxed and customer focused. Loved their non uniforms and the relaxed vibe, very Miami south beach without the 8 hour flight, what's not to like. Breakfast great and the food in the pool restaurant was freshly made and a better option for dinner than most restaurants in the immediate area. Ouiet street although in the centre of everything and a few minutes walk from beach. Unfortunately now I cannot stay anywhere else when on the island.

Great hotel in every aspect.
Rooms, common areas, staff, decoration..
The staff is always smiling and really helpful.

Every day there is a small event that I recommend to attend.
We stayed one night at the hotel for dinner and loved it (it was paella night).
Great quality and not expensive.

Overall a good hotel with great rooms and breakfast until 12. The only downside was check in and check out as there were 7 of us and they lost hotel vouchers and had to keep on asking for them even at check out.

Perfect stay for Christmas break

Had a great stay at Gold - all the staff were so helpful and full of recommendations. Great variety for breakfast with one of the happiest egg/pancake chefs I've ever seen! Rooms are exactly like pictures - only random thing is hair drier cord is secured to wall under sink so pretty much have to sit on floor to use. Onsite parking was easy.

Lovely Staff, super comfy beds & excellent brekkie

Stayed for 6 nights last week. Nice modern hotel, staff are great (gave my partner and I bubbles at brekkie for his birthday, nice touch thanks). And the breakfast itself has everything I could want oh apart from decent cereal but this didn't matter plenty of other great things to eat. Great location for yumbo lots of bars/restaurants within 5/10min walk.

A very enjoyable stay at this fantastic hotel. Modern, quirky and exceptionally clean. The staff here are also very friendly and attentive. The location is just a short away from the beach. Its also close to lots of lively nightlife yet the rooms are quiet so you get a good nights sleep:)

Great place to stay.

The view from our top-floor room was fabulous. We stayed there for 2 weeks. Our room was cleaned every day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even provided a surprise bottle of cava on my husband's birthday! Very comfortable room with a choice of pillows. Well located between the Cita and Yumbo centres and the beach.

Excellent clean friendly hotel

Smart Hotel, staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean and shower amazing. The small kitchenette was a bonus.
Downside, did ask for a high room and recieved one on the ground floor with no veiw, could be noisey at times with guests running water and walking around from adjoining rooms.
Also the steps to the beach were tiring, and not suitable for the elderly.
