Staff were extremely nice and friendly! Food was good with good variety. However, I was not pleased with the overall condition of my room. For instance no automatic closing mechanism for the main entrance door of the room, the toilet door was not closing and opening easily! No drying rack for clothes in balcony. The room water boiler for making tea was very basic with no tea bag or no coffee provided in the room!
The sofa bed for kids are very small, my daughter easily fell down and i ended up sleeping on the sofa bed and she on the main bed which was two single bed connected. In summary we liked the Hotel, staff and food but i would say in overall the facility need a complete refurbishment and upgrade!

I really like this hotel and enjoyed the stay. Excellent food, but could vary more ( I was there for 2 weeks and got very tired of it). Rooms start to need a renovation and modernize to 21st century (USBs, comfy chairs in rooms, more modern bathrooms and overall decor). Annoying noise from construction in building next door every day from around 9am.

Little if anything to fault, other than that the hotel requires an uplift, decor, furnishings etc.
The staff are competent, hardworking,and courteous. The concierge staff always pleased to assist - in particular Santiago, who in my view epitomises the true and effective hospitality professional.
We enjoyed our stay and whilst we visited the entertainment, the class act was the ambidextrous lady who was thrown out of a suitcase!!!
Hopefully we’d like to visit at approximately the Same time in 2026

This hotel is a great option for a week for couples of the age of 35+.

The hotel is very functional and doesn’t try to be anything different to what it is.

It’s a great location to the beach, plus easily accessible to bars and restaurants.

The hotel it-self is quite small, one pool bar and main bar, along with one dining area for breakfast, lunch and evening meal, which is why I would only stay for one week. A plus point for males - you can wear smart shorts to evening dinner, which is contrary to what you might read on trip adviser and travel booking sites.

The sun loungers with mattress are most comfortable, however we did find the mattress in the room a bit shallow which resulted in feeling the hard bed.

The food/drink are both great, and the staff are a fantastic asset to this hotel, always smiling and happy to help.

You also have to pay €2 day to use the safe in the room, which we find a bit draconian. You want guests valuables to be safe, the hotel should just provide this free of charge.

All in all we had a nice holiday staying at the Seaside Sandy Beach and would score the hotel a solid 4/5.

The hotel is fantastic. Great location, friendly staff, plenty of choice for food at the buffet style restaurant and good quality branded drinks. The AI is good value for money.
Fish and calamari freshly grilled, steaks, roasts, pasta … Breakfast amazing!!! With custom made omelettes, good bacon free flowing cava, fresh juice, salmon, excellent cold meats.
Having been here before my only criticism related to food is thst too much mayo and salads need less sausage and herbs on. That type of food is very German mayo on salads, mayo potatoes so we had to have chips and very nice canarian potatoes but salads we did not like. Also huge choice of cakes and freshly baked breads. Loved the Italian theme evening! What I missed and needs to be re introduced are the amouse bouche dishes for starters in the evening.
We had superior upper floor rooms with stunning views of the ocean. The hotel is 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min walk to night life like Yumbo and not far from CITA.
We had an enjoyable stay and one day at the jacuzzi that needs to be hired in advance. Thank you to Eva the manager and all the staff for a great stay

An excellent well located choice

Very well located minutes walk from the beach (there is a separate beach entrance/exit, which you may not immediately know - its through the restaurant where the toilets are, you will need your room key to get in and out) and also very close to Yumbo etc. Very friendly staff, excellent quality food and a nice pool area. Rooms are a good size and include a separate walk in wardrobe which helps keep the room clear. The hotel is spotless and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Recommended. Great buffet.

One of the best buffets for breakfast and dinner at any hotel we've ever stayed. Excellent quality and variety. Great staff. Pool well maintained. Enjoyed the tennis courts but they should have better supply of balls. They had one tube of balls well past used and then finally got just one more tube. Keep a supply on hand. The tennis court had too much sand on it making it dangerous.

When we arrived at the hotel we were allowed to check in earlier than usually allowed. Also we were offered a glass of champagne and the friendly staff couldn't do enough for us. We'd only booked for one night but wouldn't hesitate to visit again and would recommend others too.

Our staying in the hotel was good. We could check in immediately after arriving (around 1 o'clock) instead at 3 o'clock, what we very appreciated. The hotel and the rooms were clean, food was very good. 3 of us were vegetarian and they could find enough good food. In the hotel is only one disadvantage. People reserving the chairs with towel and go for breakfast or somewhere else. When you come at 11:00 o'clock all chairs are occupied but people are not there.

Wonderful holiday there. We will definitely be back. Food was exceptional although some protein for vegans would have been good. Gym didn’t have any bosu balls that I saw but was well equipped otherwise. Fabulous proximity tot he beach and the tennis court was in good condition with a felt surface cover in light sand so was forgiving on the knees. Nice room and bed were super comfortable. We tried to use the spa 3 times but there was never anyone there or no answer on the phone so we just went off site to use another spa service closeby. Staff were very good.

Perfect Location For Everything

Great location 5/10 minutes walk from everything.Staff excellent extremely friendly and helpful.Rooms cleaned everyday even if you leave to go out in the afternoon without asking.Buffet dinner was absolutely delicious with great choices.
Only downside (not the hotel’s fault) is the type of customer the seem to have are just so ignorant pushing there way in at the buffet and in the corridors,never a thank you for letting someone by or holding a door open.

This place was an overall great experience. I loved that rooms have a separate walk-in closet and additional interior walls from (outside) corridor. Food is amazing. Rooms clean, all facilities cleaned more than daily. Quite an attentive staff. Oriental decor was a great vibe. Evening entertainment not great but far better than comparable hotels in Playa which I also visited.

Near perfect 3 week stay!

Positives:
1) great room update (thanks to hotels.com Gold or emptiness or the hotel?); made me to extend my stay from 1 to 3 weeks.
2) Awesome food, fresh made eggs in morning and fresh grilled meat or fish of your choice for lunch/evening and more than enough of other options for all diets.
3) Awesome facilities including still open heated outdoor pool and dry sauna, tennis, games..
4) Location - next to beach (sea views!), car/bike rental, supermarket, short walk to Yumbo
5) Cleanliness - reliably perfect everywhere.
6) fast stable wifi, allowed me to work reliably

Negatives:
Staff often slow, had to ask for service many times. I also got charged for some beverages which I didn't drink, which was not fixed despite my 2 complaints.

Still fantastic value and great stay!

I loved everything about it, specially the pool area which it was amazing, surrounded by palms, the pool was really clean and sunbeds really comfortable.
The room had a great size and pool views. Eveything was looked after to the maximum detail.
The staff were really friendly and made you feel like at home.
There was many food options to choose from. Maybe the quality in some of the dishes could be a bit better but other than that, it was great.
I was not leaving until the evening and they let me stay in my room until then. I understand this is no always possible if they have other guests coming, but it was a great extra offering this time.

I was welcomed at the reception with a glass of wine, which was very nice. the staff are great, very welcoming and helpful. The swimming pool is warm ( how fantastic!) but I was able to swim in the ( cold) sea. A small bottle of wine was also offered complimentary in the room. The food was great, I upgraded to half board for 9 euros which was very cheap. I would definitely return to Seaside, I think they offer more personalised experiences to clients comparing to Riu for example.

Our experience was not so good!

The dishes smelled awful.
They have just two people as entertainment team , the don’t have any plan for Saturday and sunday during the day.
There was a black cat and since i have the cat phobia it was awful for me!

Overall Good service during my stay, led by the staff who were always welcoming, friendly and helpful in the restaurant and on reception.

The rooms are well maintained and throughly cleaned each day. There is a good variety of food choices in the restaurant.

The location provides easy access to the beach 5 minutes way or alternatively other night time areas are close by.

For these reasons that’s why i keep on returning to the Seaside Sandy Beach hotel.

We have just come back from a week at the Sandy Beach Hotel. We had a nice break but the Hotel was not as nice as the one we stayed in last year in Tauritos. We opted for this one as it was attached to the Free Motion Shop but would probably not stay there again.

Loved it!

First time going to Gran Canaria and we loved it! Hotel is spot on for the location as you have the beach down the road and then the other side is where the shopping mall is and where you can get the bus!

We did go half board but would recommend the all Inclusive as the food is imense and so much to choose from! We did struggle with our 2 year old as she didn’t like a lot off it so would be good to have basic children food! The room we were given was perfect with a child and close to the pool and terrace!

Had an amazing time at Seaside Sandy Beach. Everything was good from the welcome to the goodbye.

Very clean hotel amazing family room. The food was the best we have had across the canaries in the last 4 years at other 4 star hotels.

The entertainment guy was great. Worked hard and very friendly and also the ladies who took the kids to kids club.

Very good pool area and great how they save sun beds for families.

Great location not far from the beach.

Also 2 gyms and sauna area.

Can’t fault the stay at all. We would love to return next year but the only downside is the price for next year is £2,000 more.

If they match this years rate I’d book today.

Thanks again tho for an excellent holiday.

I was upgraded as the category of room I'd booked as a solo guest was overbooked. I was not disappointed, great room, great view, very clean and comfortable.

Good entertainment every night.

Choice and quality of food was excellent.

Great location, 5 minutes walk from Maspalomas beach.

Great food shame about the smoking

Nice hotel. Great food. Friendly staff, and Management.
So many people smoking though everywhere. Whilst there, the manager moved the smoking area to try to get round the problem of having to walk through the smoking area to get your food from the buffet, however this meant the smoke blowing towards you due to the breeze. The dining area is just not big enough to accomodate both smokers and nonsmokers with enough separation. The hotel either needs to ban smoking in the outdoor area or admit defeat and advertise its for smokers, or spend a lot on a redesign.
The area around the hotel is ok, nothing special and we were not impressed by the beach and the tatty shops and restaurants and bars.
We wont be going back I'm afraid.
Not a patch on their hotel on Lanzarote.

We have just returned from a lovely 7 day stay at this hotel, (so I cannot comment on the really busy season). I had a problem with taxi from the airport, which the hotel sorted within 2 mins once I managed to contact them. I found the staff extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Frederico on the front desk gave us a VERY warm and friendly welcome, and all the other staff (waiters, bar staff, cleaning staff) were the same friendly and \"nothing too much bother\" attitude. It is a predominantly German Hotel, however other countries were represented. Food was of a high standard with plenty of choice to suit everyone. They were never short of food choices, no matter how busy. Rooms were a little dated, but were comfortable, bright, and clean. What else would you want? There was a Spa, Turkish and Sauna area, although be aware, it is a German hotel and these areas are nude. However you could always wrap your towel around you if you are shy.(No Problem). The poolside areas were cordoned off until 08:45 to allow guests access to place towels all at the same time. However there really was no need for the \"Wacky Races Sunbed Dash\" as there were more than enough sunbeds, and the hotel was fully occupied for half of the week. It was very entertaining to watch \"the racers\" every morning from my balcony! We may be back here next year. Hotel puts on entertainment every night, some are better than others, however the flamenco night was outstanding. Two brilliant musicians, great dancers.

Great food, but trapped in the 80's.

This was my first time on Gran Canaria so this may be a commentary on the island and not the hotel. The hotel was extremely dated. The gentleman at the front desk was very courteous and efficient at check in as he pulled out a clipboard to fill out check in forms and then handed me a laminated card for a towel plus another card to indicate we were on the all inclusive plan. Why not just use a bracelet? We had a small issue in our room and it was fixed right away.

The entertainment was clearly suited for people well over retirement age and that's exactly who was in our hotel. How..why? I don't know, but just know that there was NOT diversity in ages of hotel guests. So for me, it wasn't a good fit, but for others in the appropriate age range, it would be a nice hotel.
The pool is nice enough and the food and location relative to the beach were the best parts. So.. I'd say don't go unless the 70's or 80's were you favorite decades and you want your hotel stay to take you back to those decades.

Beds are very comfortable and should a guest find the mattress to hard or to soft it can be changed (there is a request form beside bed) Towels are changed everyday Robes and slippers are provided There was a fridge and tea making facilities
Only complaint is the entertainment both by day and night was terrible

We enjoyed a cycling holiday using Free Motion bike hire just on the outside of the hotel. Can't fault either. Super trip. We ate out in the evening rather than going all inclusive But the breakfast buffet was great.

Excellent food, good location, fantastic miniclub

excellent staff apart from 1 surly waiter manager in black waistcoat.
Similarly, room is small but comfortable. we did complain on 2occasions (to reception) about awful sewage smell that came in from the washbasin & show drainage but this wasn't sorted out throughout our 10day stay.
Nevertheless, the pros definitely outweight the cons.

We had a look at the sister hotel in maspalomas, the palm beach, but the sandy beach is definitely the better of the two despite the 4* rating vs 5*, for food, location & maybe staff.

miniclub is v v well supervised - probably best we've come across anywhere, due to the efforts of 1 german lady. absolutely fantastic for kids up to early teens.

The GM of the hotel is v hands on & visible including at dinner times. So everything is closely managed.

Fabulous family friendly hotel, amazing staff

We just came back from the seaside hotel and have to say we all had amazing time. We had family room with very spacious bathroom, good size bedrooms and big balcony. The bonus was microwave and fridge in the room. Lots is storage space.
Food was amazing. Freshly prepared and very big variety - everyday something new. I have to give enormous credit to the kitchen and waiting staff as they always made sure that food for my son with various allergies was prepared especially for him. They always asked what I would like to order for him!
The entertainment was very good. My daughter enjoyed mini club, I went to aqua gym any yoga, husband enjoyed darts, water polo and French bowling.
The pool area and the pool itself were lovely. Very well looked after. Great pools for children. Comfortable sun lounges (a bit of battle every morning to reserve a seat but I think it's in all hotels). The pool bar was good with again fantastic staff.
The hotel facilities were good, I could even use washing machine free of charge!
The staff was amazing - in every single department- always happy and very helpful!!!
The location is great as it is very close to the beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandybeach Hotel, could not say a bad word about the staff they were outstanding so friendly and could not do enough for us to make sure we enjoyed our stay from the reception on arrival, pool attendants through the day, waiting staff, chefs, cleaners everyone was amazing, food was fabulous something different each night entertainment good and the animation team had time for everyone we could not recommend this hotel enough and will definatley be going back next year and we would have no hesitation in recomending Sandy Beach Hotel in Playa de Ingles to anyone.

Enjoyable holiday . Lovely hotel . Food excellent in terms of quality and choice . Al fresco dining in march with patio heaters . A heated pool which was clean . Plenty of sun beds with comfy cushions . Lots of people put their towels and reserved them early round the pool but on the sun terrace just next to the pool there were plenty . The room was clean ,serviced daily . Hot powerful shower . Shampoo in room and hairdryer . Safe 2 euros a night . Pool towels . You need to bring conditioner and moisturisers . There is a gym and nude sunbathing terrace and a spa separate and a kids club which we didn't use . There is table tennis and pool tables . The hotel is excellent position , short walk to the sandy beach and short walk to shops , bars , restaurants and entertainment ( 5 mins ) could have free bike hire for the day but not advertised so we didn't find out to our last day . Entertainment was not that great . The ' drifters duo' was good but michael Jackson ents cancelled and the magician was not that great but I loved my holiday anyway .the all inclusive was well worth it .

Nice hotel close to beach

Enjoyed our relaxing stay at hotel well layer out clean friendly staff nice food . Would recommend this hotel nice touch tea making falisities in room. Stayed here with our family with our grandchildren and friends with their children . Plenty activities to keep children and adults occupied. Heated pool a bonus. Comfy loungers/large towels supplied. Nice layout of tables for dining. Waiter service excellent. Comfy armchairs in reception to read in quite pleaceful areas. Evening shows were very good really enjoyed them. Disco a nice touch nice to see people dancing and having fun. Weather was sunny and hot . Just a couple of heavy showers which did not spoile our holiday. Being English and not many staying at this hotel do not be put of by this by other reviews . Our grandchildren made friends and joint in with all games with the hotel entertainment layed on daily. with families from Denmark and ourselves . All in all we had a good time . Would we return .YES.

Excellent hotel

Very good stay, excellent hotel in a traditional Spanish style, spa, nice outside swimming pool with heated water and poolside bar. Immediate check in with welcome bottled water and wine. Very good food. Kids club available.Close to dunes of Maspalomas and the beach with nearby shopping centre. Good local bus service.Taxis are also affordable. We had a nice family stay in the end of October despite the changeable weather.

Don't get ripped off!

I'd booked a Superior room, and had been charged in full in advance. At check-in, all was fine until the receptionist gave me my room keycard and wished me a pleasant stay. The room was on Floor 1, and I knew from the hotel's website that there are no Superior rooms on Floors 1 & 2, which are buried deep in the gloomy bowels of the building, and have rooms facing the street, with consequent noise issues. So I asked the receptionist whether it was a Superior room, and he said it wasn't. When I pointed out I'd booked a Superior room and had already paid for one, he shrugged and said he didn't have one. Basically, the hotel thought it could take my money, dump me in an inferior room, hope I wouldn't know the difference, and then sell my Superior room to someone else! This is just fundamentally dishonest. Needless to say, we had a full and frank exchange of views, and I got a Superior room the next day, but it was a lot of inconvenience.

Otherwise, the food is OK rather than great. The rooms are clean. The restaurant/bar staff are wonderful, apart from one guy in the restaurant (you know who you are JR!). There's basically only an outside restaurant, and it's crammed with tables, so is rather unpleasant. There are lots of steps, so probably not good for the elderly. There's the usual scrum for sunbeds. The pool area is rather noisy. Wifi works OK. You have to pay extra for the room safe. Overall, I'd say it was a 3-star hotel rather than the claimed 4-star standard.

Our original reservations with another facilty were botched. Sandy beach welcomed us back and gave us favorable rates. Sr. Paco worked with us and the other travel company to arrange payment for our stay there. Ms. Aruma was also very helpful to us. The desk staff were all very helpful and considerate.

Good choice

We purchased half board. Food was excellent and staff were courteous and very helpful. Swimming pool was well maintained. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the beach. This beach is not very clean. It is crowded. We found other beaches in other parts of the island which were much better. We were surprised that female nudity is legal and commonly practiced in this area.

Very nice hotel, for many reasons - the first day we went out to eat but quickly realized that the buffet at the hotel is much better quality than anything around, and much better price too. Great staff, always very friendly and hellful. Great view from the balcony on 9th floor. We stayed here with a 2-year old who loved the children's pool. Important to have a nice pool here as the beach can be too cold and windy. All over a very pleasant week, the only minus I would say is that getting anything done in reception takes too much time - always a line.

Great stay at a lovely hotel

Great Stay at Seaside Sandy beach. the hotel facilities and proximity to the beach were great. We were on Half board and are vegetarian so were concerned about options we may have but the staff were excellent and provided us with different food every day which was fresh and of a high standard. On the day we went for an excursion before breakfast they provided us with packed breakfast to take with us too. Music programme daily in the evenings was nice way to relax and wind down with a drink after dinner

Brilliant Hotel

Sandy Beach Hotel is a fabulous hotel with lovely airy rooms On arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly
Our first impression of room 236 was WOW two dressing gowns and slippers were supplied plus a welcome little bottle of wine
Never have I stayed in a hotel with such comfortable beds and pillows The whole building is spotless
Food is amazing with a great variety and lovely seating area though it amazed me that the smoking area was nearer the food than non smoking
We liked the idea that deck chairs could not be booked before 9.45am plenty sun lounges and umbrellas...Towels supplied and changed everyday We noticed that the covers on the lounges are changed daily
I would have preferred a room on a higher floor as we had no view but then again we didnt spend alot of time on balcony

Throughly enjoyed it. Recommend this hotel. Very friendly caring staff. Very impressed with the cleanliness in the room as well as around the hotel including pool area.
There are lot of steps around the neighbourhood area, some people may find difficult .

Excellent Hotel wish could stay longer!

Really enjoyed our stay at Seaside Sandy Beach and their food are good both breakfast and dinner having stayed half board. Reception Staff and the Chefs are super friendly as are some restaurant staffs. There is one lady at the reception (sorry I didn't catch her name) who was always helpful and friendly. It was for our early birthday celebration and they gave us a very nice modern room on level 9 which we enjoyed very much. Thank you so much! Beware: google map misled us to the wrong street so end up going uphill and then up some stairs with our suitcase before we found the main entrance.

Well-equipped, smart, friendly and efficient staff

We rate this hotel highly. It provided all the facilities we wanted and, with a mainly German customer base, was clean, organised and in a great position. It is a big, modern building, horseshoe-shaped around its pool and big lounging areas. The food was very good, with a varied all-you-can-eat buffet for both breakfast and dinner, if booked on a half board rate. The buffet staff were attentive and we needed no other meal during the day. The free spa had a big sauna and small steam room, as well as offering treatments for extra cost. There were four clothing-optional (FKK) sunbathing terraces on the upper floors and we had no difficulty finding free sunloungers. The separate jacuzzi area could only be booked for a whole day of private use. There was an indoor gym and another in a high-level conservatory. The covered, airy games area was equipped with table tennis, pool tables, table football, table air hockey, shuffleboard and boules court. The bar had gentle entertainment every evening. Disappointingly, instead of the advertised king-size bed, I was given two single beds pushed together. Road works outside started at 7 am but were not too noisy; anyway, we hardly spent any time in our otherwise very quiet rear suite during the day. The public bus (Global 66) from the airport was comfortable, Euros 3.50 per person, and ran on time, once per hour (not door to door, of course). If you discount waiting time, this express bus trip took 30 minutes.

Extremely well run hotel

It was my 3rd time staying at this hotel and have enjoyed it equally as much as the previous stays. The staff at reception are very friendly and its is a very well run hotel. Great choice of food on offer during breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sometimes took a while to get served drinks when you first entered / sat down in the restaurant but this was usually an exception.

A comfortable 4 star hotel

I spent 5 days at the Seaside Sandy Beach Hotel in May 2014. Having read previous reviews and posts I requested a room on one of the higher floors and it did make a big difference. My room was extremely comfortable, with a seperate bathroom and dressing room as you enter opening up into the room which lead onto the balcony on the inside aspect of the curve of the hotel. Food was great, as with other posts the service on the drinks at your table could be a bit slow but if you are sat for a long evening meal it didn't matter. All the staff where extremely poilte and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this to all lone travellers as you are made to feel very welcome

I booked this room as a standared room, but then found out it was a lower level room, the view was of a road with traffic going by all day and night, also road works were there all day. I asked for help and your team there talked rubbish and did not understand anything. the hotel explained we had paid over the odds, and offered evening meals for 6 Euro per night. But your team offered NOTHING

Very Sorry but it was the worse experiance we have had with any company.
