They really need to work on the update of the elevator &rooms . Very outdated. I ask for 2 rooms together for our stay. They said come back later ,meanwhile e they was giving others there rooms . Even thought I was there before so we got one room on the 12th floor & the other on 14th floor.
The only good thing was the rooftop lounge & swimming pool was extremely bleach that came out of the elevator once you hit the 8th floor. Which means the pool must be very filthy I also told the security in the pool area that they was two piece that was broken, she called maintenance which came and put a be cautious sign instead of fixing it . I was just concerned that a child or adult could had gotten really hurt with the sharp piece that was on it. Never heard of that before. Never again will I stay here. ESPECIALLY THE WAITING GOR THE ELEVATORS & THE NOISE IT WAS MAKING GRINDING EQUIPMENT

Parking was nice. Close to the beach. Our room wasn’t available. The room that was, the beds were twin sized. My partner is 6’ 3. The hallways smelled like urine and the staff were smoking cigarettes at the entrance of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay, which I really appreciated. Unfortunately, the property itself was disappointing. The hotel had a noticeable unpleasant smell, and the cleanliness did not meet my expectations. The room and common areas could have been maintained much better. The parking lot was also very dirty and gave a poor first impression of the property. While the excellent customer service made the experience better, the hotel really needs to improve its cleanliness and overall maintenance.

The room was definitely clean and super comfortable! My husband and I akways keep the do not disturb sign on the door but the hotel sent us a nice letter letting us know they respected our privacy and if there was anything we needed to contact the front desk. The elevators are a tad slow but they are older so its understandable. The staff is very helpful and kind !

no beach view, but a great view of the tops of the other buildings; check in was great, early and fast; clean up staff didn't enter my room once, even when i asked them to, and i had to ask for more shampoo n such; i called the front desk because water from what i guess was the air conditioner poured out of the ceiling three times, no one came to check it out; the elevators were a mfn nightmare, especially as i was trying to check out; the lobby staff and valet staff were very nice

My room was a disaster. The shower, sink and toilet was stopped up. And had a poor odor to it.
The duvet had yellow stains on it and staff look like they had an attitude to do their job I wouldn't stay there again even if it was free!!!

Older historic hotel nice ambience a little dark. Rooms need to be upgraded. Stayed for 4 nights the first room I was in the a/c vents were caked up with dust. Alicia at the front desk very nice ..upgraded is to another room however that room the shower head was away from the wall the pressure was too strong and spraying everywhere. Everytime we took a shower the whole bathroom would be soaked every single thing in the bathroom..toilet paper sink toilet floor. Best thing is the Vue rooftop bar. No casino but there is a walk thru to Ballys. Beds are comfy.. Wi-Fi is iffy. Ok if traveling on budget pool closed

We have stayed here before but it's been probably about 10 years ago and this hotel has gone downhill. First, the people that work at the front desk are not very friendly or helpful. The rooms are very outdated. We had an oceanfront room but the windows are so dirty you can barely see the ocean. The toilet wouldn't flush, you had to hold the handle down for the toilet paper to go down. If you need to shave your legs make sure you bring something to put in the shower because there is no where to put your foot up and absolutely no light to see what your actually shaving. Tried calling housekeeping to get extra towels and waited about 10 minutes for someone to answer and they never did so I called the front desk and waited about 20 minutes and they also never answered. Went down to the front desk to ask for towels and she said I will put in a request and acted like I was an inconvenience for her. Front desk people are all rude

Reinforce pool rules along with no jumping or diving in pool: Cleaning the pool should be increased through the day.

The desk reception was helpful and polite.
Avoid valet parking… The stay at The Claridge Hotel was safe and fun.
Avoid being green… studying the premises before you go.

All of the towels and wash cloths were dirty I couldn't even use them. This is my second recent stay and again my room was cold and the thermostat which needs charging was dead. The TV only picks up every other channel. The pillow cases were dirty. The check in staff had me waiting in line as they talked to another patron about nothing having to do with the hotel for a good 10 minutes. I love the vintage property but all of the other cons took away from that.

The Claridge is a beautiful, historic Hotel. The lobby and the rooms are absolutely beautiful. We've stayed before and will be back again. The staff is helpful and friendly. It's less than a block from the Atlantic City Boardwalk with a Concourse walkway into Bally's Casino. The indoor pool is a plus. There are a couple restaurant/lounges.

The staff was kind & attentive, the location was also great! My only complaint was the condition of the hotel. It needs a serious upgrade & thats not something the staff can do while also taking care of guests. It needs updated lighting, newer elevators, renovated rooms & bathrooms etc. When I got to my room I considered going to a different hotel because of how old everything was. But, I stayed, had a great evening seeing a live show & I slept well. I left as soon as I woke up though!

Check in was terrible. Line was all the way out of the lobby into a different room. Once we fot to the front desk, the staff were so flat and seemed very bothered. No hello or how can we help you. Then we got to our room and it was nice looking despite the aged looked. However after unpacking and heading out for dinner, we returned to the room and went in the fridge to get a drink and it wasn't cold. We called for maintenance and they did swap it out for us. Then we went to shower and the water wouldn't drain. So we called the very unpleasant front desk and they told us they would call us right back. That never happened. We called them back and they told us to come downstairs to get a new key. Never once did they apologize for all of the inconveniences. The next room was a renovated room so it was nicer. However the sink didn't drain. We gave up after that and just kept on with our vacation. But we wouldn't ever stay there again due to the poor attitudes of the staff.

While the price for the night was reasonable, it definitely showed throughout the hotel. Most of guest hallways were hot and stuffy. Our room was 78 degrees and very uncomfortable. Maintenance was supposedly notified,but nothing was fixed. The elevators were old and rickety. It took several minutes to obtain one. Finally the overnight parking in the garage was an additional 26 dollar fee.

Inside the room is great good looking finish, comfy bed, good shower in the bedroom.
The room is not soundproof, disturbances from the street will keep you up. There is a constant drip on our windowsil from higher up than the 9th floor which was audible marking every second as we attempted to fall asleep.
The workout room was a sauna so you sweat before your warmup, and many freeweights are missing.
We attempted breakfast at twenties at 8AM, however after waiting 15 minutes to be asked what we would like to drink we left.

The Valet staff was very friendly and helpful. Front desk staff was rude during check in. The room we reserved was hot as a sauna A.C. wasnt working. it was 90 degrees outside that day so you can imagine how hot it was in the room maintenance was notified. When they came the supervisor looked at the A.C. played with the wires then said it was fixed. Clearly it was not!! No air was coming out the vents and he tried to argue with my husband. It wasnt until my husband got very upset and threaten to demand his money back that he suggested to put us in a different room.. that room had belongings from previous guest in it. The furniture looked dirty and needed a food cleaning. The best part of the stay was the guest in the hotel.

My partner and I booked here for our anniversary and it was disappointing. The rooms does not look like how they do online. Our room had lots of broken items and the floor was terribly dirty. They said the hotel has internet and they actually don’t. The pool was not well taken care of. They do have a nice calm roof top that my partner and I really enjoyed and got to meet other people at who also complained about their own rooms. Unfortunately next door to our room stayed a children and a baby so there was a lot of crying, screaming, and banging on our door in the middle of the night for about 3 days. The night before we left we decided to stay in and we heard a lady screaming in the hallway saying she wants a refund and that went on for about 30 mins. Overall I just give this hotel a 5/10 but it’s ok we mainly enjoyed our experience by going out

Nice location, connected to Bally’s, easy valet , some things didn’t work like our safe and the cabinet didn’t fully close. Also no channel list for the TV was annoying. But the pool was very nice and so was the weed lounge. Also the rooftop bar, beach and casino access was very nice and convenient.

I stayed in the Great Gatspy, a lifelong dream. Boy was the entire experience a disappointment. The room was drab and dark with a musky/musty smell( I guess from the wet rug). The pool area was scary and unattended, unhoused people living and washing up in the hall leading to the pool and gym (absolutely nothing against the unhoused). The pool was dirty and the lounges were all worn and in terrible disrepair. The pool area’s door lock was broken and had a pad lock with a chain on it.

We had a what seemed an excessive wait time to check in almost 40 minutes. Then the room key didn’t work, each time we tried to use the elevator it took upwards of 10 minutes or more. After the room key didn’t work I actually walked down the stairs from the 21st floor to avoid waiting. Got the new key card to only find out the room was already in use. We go back down to the front desk again to find out the person who checked us in wrote the completely wrong room number down and allowed to enter the wrong room. I’ve never been in a hotel where there was no vent fan in the bathroom. There were outlets that did not work and really need to be updated. Overall a horrible experience from what should have been a higher end hotel.

The front desk girl was not very friendly. Acted like she didn’t want to wait on anyone. That I was an inconvenience to her. Then got to the room which was very hot 77degrees hot. I thought it was because we just got there but nope it remained hot. Called the front desk and was told they would send maintenance, yeah right they never came. It remained 75 in my room and I will not return. It’s a shame cause it was a half decent hotel. Nice pool and very quiet hotel.

The staff here are excellent, with a real passion for this beautiful, historic hotel. I love it for its vintage vibe. The restaurant, Twenties is very good and the Vue offers delicious drinks and snacks with a great view out over the boardwalk and ocean. Would definitely stay here again.

The Claridge was a great place to stay. Clean. Comfortable. Near the board walk. Since it was the off season, we got an ocean view room for a reasonable price.
Unfortunately, their computer system was down. So the key cards could not be made. We had to call the front desk to get someone to let us into our room each time we left. Furthermore, their internet was down as well. This was really annoying as it was down for both days that we stayed.
Also, be warned in advance that parking is taken care of by a company not associated with the hotel. There is no reserved parking for the hotel. You have to pay for it on the side with a vendor not associated with the hotel. There are a limited number of spaces next to the hotel. The general lot is a block away. Since this was the off season, I was able to pay for a close parking space. I wish I had known this in advance.

The property is in need of major updating. We were on the 19th floor and the elevators stopped working. We barely heard the fire alarm. We went to check out because we didn’t feel safe there and their “system” was down. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
