We were looking for something quick and affordable because of an event we were attending in the area. While the hotel is dated, there is definitely a charm to it. It was very clean, comfortable and the staff were friendly. It is a little noisy with the air conditioning unit and pipes. Amenities are a little dated as well. I could see coming back during the summer and have a quiet affordable beach vacation that is close enough to AC if you want to go and come back. We will definitely return.

Great hotel! The single room with kitchen was perfect. Very comfortable and great view. It's right on the beach. The staff was very nice, courteous and helpful. Whoever was at tge front desk always greeted you coming and going. I had all the conveniences of home. It was a very enjoyable winter vacation. I will definitely stay here again.

Roaches in the room. Expedia did handle the generation well and refunded key cash but hotel did nothing would not even respond and smirked when I mentioned it to them and showed them the photos.

After waiting 25 minutes to check in because no one was at the desk , I was then told that the pool closed at 4 bc they had no lights in there (the whole reason we went away was to go swimming ) then in the middle of the night the whole hotel smelled like gas and the hotel employees wouldn’t look into it or call someone about it .

A solid option for a quick, affordable stay at the shore.
Is this the most luxurious or modern hotel? No — it’s definitely dated, and that’s really the only reason I can’t give it five stars. But for the price and the location, it absolutely does the job.

The biggest win is the location: just minutes from Atlantic City and directly attached to the iconic Lascalas Beach Bar (used to be Laguna - one of Brigantine’s biggest attractions). For a last-minute shore trip or a one-night stay, it’s incredibly convenient.

The rooms themselves are basic, but they offer great in-room amenities: a full fridge, a small kitchen, and a dining area — all really useful touches you don’t usually get at this price point. Yes, the property is dated, but it still provides everything you need for a comfortable stay.

You’re not booking the Ritz-Carlton — but if you’re looking for affordability, convenience, and a great location by the beach and AC, this is a really solid option.

We didn't cook on this trip, only coffee in the morning with our own portable Keurig. Refrigerator and freezer was spacious and fit our needs. The heat was a unit in the wall with a remote but was hard to figure out and kept coming on and off all through the night.

Booked a one night stay for a concert, will not be back.

Mattress felt plastic and had no support. Hotel gave you 3 tiny flat pillows and a thin blanket. When asked for extra, took several hours to respond but did not bring extra.

One elevator was out of order, the other was very shaky and slow.

The lobby, hallways, and stairwells all smelled of marijuana.

If you want a cheap barebones place to stay with direct beach access this is the place to stay.

I stayed in this Legacy hotel before and it was good, but this time I was disappointed. First, the pool was not working the day we arrived. Also, the room key did not work and every time we needed to enter our room, the receptionist had to come with us to make the room lock work. The next morning we were told that the pool is working so we wanted to use it before we check out but it was not heated and we did not really use it because of that.

This was a truly unique stay—a hotel that has retained much of its historic charm with some modern conveniences. It was not crowded, was quiet and relaxing. All staff were friendly and accommodating. Every room has a view of the shore. Our room was larger than anticipated—2 full rooms with ample space to add a full air mattress. The attached restaurant had live music; the beach atmosphere was vibrant but not packed.

Firstly, this hotel is in Brigintine, so that is an automatic win. You do not have to worry about local derelicts or crime. Its a beautiful island with class act residents. Unfortunately though, the hotel itself is older and outdated and not in a great way. Granted we stayed in September and the summer season is coming to a close. The room was not very kept up with. The couch was beyond beat up and the rug filthy and ripped in every direction. Although it was clean! My main issues were lack of any house keeping. We stayed 3 day, not one offer for more towels, toilet paper, collection of trash. We had to ask for our own vacuum for almost 15 hours after our first night of sleeping and getting sand in the room due to the kids. Eventually they brought one up. 2 rolls of toilet paper offered not a single towel replaced unless you hound them for some. It wasnt ideal, but in reality it worth not being around like trash in AC for instance. I will say the owner of the Lascalas Beach Bar and restaurant is also a very rude old man. I would try to avoid him as well. He seems to get very annoyed if you walk or go near his deck... Unfortunately when you are carrying 2 children and beach supplies it is the easiest route to the beach, and as its connected to the hotel, if he doesn't want patrons walking through, perhaps a sign would be a good investment. So in summary great location old hotel awful old man that owns the connected restaurant. I would stay again and recommend it.

Very outdated. The lobby needs to be updated and the ceiling is falling apart. The room needs to be repaired as well. The refrigerator handle was taped and broken. The bathroom door mirror was old and worn out. The furniture was very old and the bed was not comfortable.

Definitely needs an uplift and some fixing.

It’s great location though!!

Being that the hotel is on top of a restaurant I feel like it should’ve been noted, That parking may not be available as it was for me and my partner when we went check in. Check-in was at four that being early dinner hour the parking lot was over already overflowing and double parked. We had to pay for parking and then at a nearby lot as the restaurant had utilized the hotel’s parking lot. Even if we would’ve got a parking spot in the early hours of the day, we would’ve easily been parked in leaving us unable to leave the hotel to do other activities at night.

Would not stay here again! The rooms have filthy carpet and did not dare take my shoes off! We had a leaky bathroom ceiling that we were supposed to be reimbursed money due to the inconvenience and have not received this still. Your charges all these extra fees and that were not explained and definitely not worth the stay here!!

When we got there the parking lot was so crowded. We had to park a few blocks away. Other than that the room was fine. It was convenient to have the beach right there. There were bands playing at the restaurant next door and a very walkable location

Location was perfect! Parking was a nightmare but the valet service really helped that issue. The couch was very old, leather was worn, cushions were falling apart. Ceiling tiles were bowing in areas, need counter space in bathroom, and fire alarm was disconnected and hanging down (I assume there was another one but the one hanging needs to be removed and replaced). Beach bar was great and food was ono! Pool looks nothing like pictures - could definitely be cleaned and fixed to make it a nicer option for guests. Parking pass and beach tags were a plus. Bed was comfy and kitchen was decent (didn’t use anything besides refrigerator) but there were cups, etc for use. Floor at entryway of hotel and in elevators need replaced as they were worn.

The hotel is old and needs updates. It’s situated in prime location but the activity there needs more parking spaces. The woman who checked us in was just ok not warm and friendly like other hotels. No explanation about the area where hotel guests can park, or where we can get towels for the pool. We arrived on a Saturday where the was so much activity at the restaurant and people going to the beach that parking for hotel guests was insane. It felt like being a hotel guest had no privileges even when your spending top dollar per night. Next time we will rent a condo.

I like it because it was right on the beach, staff was accommodating and friendly.
Parking was difficult only when the restaurant was open and people used valet parking-our car would be blocked in and we had to ask that the car be moved to another space. That was an inconvenience. Other than that, our stay was great.

We have stayed here before so we knew what to expect. The location is great as it is isolated from Atlantic City beaches. There are local beaches directly adjacent. The property is old and has character. We had a water leak in our rooms and got upgraded to the penthouse which made it better. The staff is very nice and prompt for any services that we needed.

Our trip to Brigantine Beach

My wife & I spent six nights at the Legacy. The staff and fellow guests were friendly. We've stayed here 5-6 times before, usually mid July. We like walking on the beach. I also enjoy playing golf. The local restaurants are good. Brigantine is a nice, quiet residential beach town. And Atlantic City is only 5 miles away. We'll be back.

Favorite beach hotel in NJ

I absolutely love this place! I go to Brigantine often because I drive my truck on the beach so I didn't even use the hotels beach but the fact that the best restaurant in town is also attached to this hotel where you can dine outside among the palm trees and then sit on the beach, Makes it the perfect place! Clean and comfortable and not expensive!

Married 39 years and this was the worst placed we ever stayed. Started off with the internet down and no one could check in or out . Then get room after waiting on beach looking forward to nice shower water pressure none hot water knob didn’t work. Sink clogged, spring mattress horrible pillows horrible phone on room didn’t work went to font desk to get sink and shower fixed rtn that night still not fixed and now the toilet is clogged go down to desk they send person they can only fix sink and shower. We asked for new room at noon manager arrives and we get a call they moving to different room it was an upgrade but again no water pressure only air comes out of hot water mattress horrible… first day our room isn’t cleaned.. ask front desk they do not do daily room service only check out.. parking is shared with Beach House so hope you find parking when you return for the night… pool house needs major maintenance positive note you are on the beach

This trip to the Legacy , Brigantine NJ was not my best trip. Our blinds were broken and stuck half way open, allowing a lor of light through the simple curtains. I asked for a parking pass upon arrival and was told I wouldn't need it as it was still out of season. I had to circle the parking lot several times to get a space and had to park half way down the block because cars were parking for La Scalas or the beach ( not Hotel guest). This trip was just disappointing. Noisy being on the 1st floor and hearing people at the beach bar and contractors early Saturday morning

Check in person was great and had alot of great information. I did not catch his name. He checked us in Friday night though 5/2. The room was great and spacious very clean. We were right off the elevator and heard no noise from it during the stay so it's ok to get the room by the elevator everyone. Pool was open and ready ! access to the beach made my daughter and her friends excited. The restaurant was super busy so we ate some where else. We walked to breakfast about 5 min away. We will return!!

This is our second time in their hotel, the first time is was ok, pool way ice cold and the pool area as well, we complaint and nothing was done, staff were pretty good and room were good. This time we have nothing to complaint and the pool was very warm and we really enjoy our stay this time
