The hotel is an excellent location, within walking distance of many major tourist attractions including the Ceramic Museum, the Cathedral, the Silk exchange and many more.
We had a standard room which whilst comfortable had a limited outlook onto a narrow alleyway. Maybe in future I would pay extra for a premium room and view.
Breakfasts were enjoyable and plentiful.
However, staff were exceptional when we realised at the airport my wife had lost a diamond ring. The cleaners had found it, and the staff organised for it to be sent by DHL cargo to the UK and made the whole process very easy and stress free. They also arranged for us to pay the cargo costs through them. Above and beyond the call of duty.

Very friendly staff, relatively clean. Shower drain was clogged and flooded the bathroom and no one was able to fix it until the next day. Very close to shopping and sites in Valencia. Good for a short stay.

Very enjoyable stay, very clean and lovely room

We very much enjoyed our stay and the view from our room with balcony. The cleaner was excellent, making out Tom look fresh every day. The only thing that let it down was the reception staff, who weren't always that friendly. Also, when we arrived, we asked to check in early and they took our luggage (great) and said they would call us when the room was ready, but it got to normal check in time and we hadn't received a call. Then when we did turn up to check in, it took a while for them to find our luggage. It would have been nice if they had taken our luggage to our room ahead of us, as they never called.

The breakfast was nice, with a good selection of food and drinks.

This is a perfect hotel to explore Valencia. Close to all of the top attractions, which are in a short walking distances. The hotel is clean and welcoming and offers an excellent breakfast. The room was good and air conditioned with everything you need. The reception, bar staff , breakfast and cleaning staff were excellent also which makes a big difference.

When I checked in, our room was not available because it was a couple hours early. I opted to pay at the hotel but I mistakenly thought they deducted it from my card the day prior. Nothing was said on sign in, when we returned a couple hours later, it was brought to my attention that I did not pay yet. I quickly verified it through my credit card statement that yes, I did need to pay them. I did so but I felt the whole dynamics at the desk changed when they saw I booked through Hotels.com/Expedia. They gave us a room which was ok but it was a handicapped room which I did not believe I booked. The rooms are good size but sparse of any decoration or comfort.
The location is excellent and the breakfast buffet is very good. The gentleman working the buffet was very nice and helpful.
One thing I felt was amiss, when you walk in to most hotels you get a warm greeting from the desk. We walked by the desk after checkin at least a dozen times and the group of employees working on one project never lifter their heads to acknowledge we were going past the desk to the elevator.
On checkout the young woman was kind and thankful we stayed but the desk was amiss the whole 3 days.

Excellent location - all the old city sites within a few minutes walk and close to public transport for City of Science/Oceanografic and the beach.

Rooms comfortable and clean. The shower was excellent. Minibar available - but tea/coffee in the room would be a welcome addition. Some noise from corridors/adjacent rooms but not an issue. A/c worked well.

The choice and quality of items for breakfast was exceptional.

There is a bar/restaurant which uses the breakfast room and terrace - but this closed before 10pm when we visited.

On our first night we tried to get soft drinks before bed - but were told there were no tables so couldn't be served and recommended a bar up the street (which was closed!).

It turns out there is an additional lounge - but not obvious how to get service and we didnt see anyone using it.

We recommend the hotel. If in-room tea/coffee and the evening bar sorted this would be the perfect hotel for a short break in Valencia

Well placed hotel but rooms basic. We were on the third floor facing the street and needed earplugs despite their claim that the hotel is soundproofed due to noise from the street and adjoining rooms. Curtains do not block out light and the door also had large gaps. Beds are on the hard side so not the most restful nights sleep. No kettle or coffee in room, toiletries were limited and bottle water is only free the first night. Would not call this a 4*.

The bed was hard, not very comfortable. No electric kettle in the room or anything. Otherwise a lovely hotel and an amazing location. A nice place to stay and if they upgrade the mattresses it will be the best! The staff were really friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a pretty, cozy lobby. The staff checked us in and out quickly and held our luggage while we walked around town. The location is fantastic! Easy walking to sites and restaurants. That was my favorite part.
The reason for my rating is the room. It was on the small side. There was an odor in the room that we thought might be coming from outside, but it was actually in the room (don't know what it was). The bathroom shower leaked water onto the floor every time and made the floor very slippery. The glass shower partition is too small to contain the water. There was also a crack in the bathroom floor near the door and we saw a \"very large insect\" appear from there and had to dispose of it.

Brilliant service from staff and amazing location, the view from our room to the ceramic museum was amazing. But, the room felt basic and lacked facilities we’d expect from a boutique hotel such as chairs to sit at or coffee machine. The decor felt sparse and basic and didn’t match the rest of the hotel which was beautiful.

Pleasant stay at the heart of the old town. Let me first say this, I am a picky traveler .... and this hotel kindly accomnodate all of my needs. Room was spacious and sparkling clean. You can easily catch a bus right in front of the hotel.

Couple thinks to keep in mind - one side of this hotel looks at a busy street, so stay away from those rooms if you are sensitive to street sound. Ask for a room that looks to the other side. 3th floor met my needs in that sense.
There will be no view but you will have a good sleep. Also, sound proof is not that superb .... you van easily hear your neighbours...

Great hotel in an excellent location that I’d definitely stay at again. Location is key and whilst being central, it wasn’t noisy and very well priced.
My only gripe would be miserable bar staff serving customers outside, if you could get them to serve you at all but it won’t deter my return.

Hit and miss with our stay at the SH Ingles. We called several times as we were entering Valencia about where to park and no answer, no voicemail. When we arrived, no one at the front desk. Wobbly elevators and no bell help but not every hotel has this. Parking is across the street (good) but in a parking dungeon with a parking guy who kinda, sorta, maybe looked like he lived there. Nicely located to some food options but also several dark sleepy streets nearby as well. The rooms AC wasn't working and they had no other option to move us. Nice view of the cathedral out our window. This was our only meh hotel of our 16 day tour across Spain.

Well-located property. However, the bathroom in our room was badly conceived: mirror to high to see more than top of our heads; no shelf in show to put our own shampoo, face wash, whatever; terrible hair dryer; broken shower that had to be repaired before we could rise off. Luckily, we were ale to use friend's shower. Front desk busy training new staff so not as helpful as could have been.

Everything’s perfect! Except for the bed.

Perfect location, very clean, friendly and helpful staff. The only bad part was the bed. Not sure if some of the rooms have more updated beds? But ours would squeak loudly just touching it so we could tell it was OLD - then sleeping on it was miserable; no support at all, it felt like sleeping on a layer of old springs. Pillows were basically made of air also so even on 3 pillows your head would sink to the very bottom (and this is coming from someone who prefers thin, hard pillows).

Firstly, the staff were great giving me perfect advice when i required information. Secondly the hotel location is also very good.
The room was OK, though i prefer bottled toiletries than rely on prefilled - the soap content was low and too much effort to dispense each time. There was also street traffic noise, and i used ear plugs.

It’s in a great location, but SH Ingles was otherwise a bit of a let down. The pictures made it look so lovely and boutique - but really, the rooms are very basic and the service quite mediocre. Nothing wrong at all - but nothing particularly memorable either. I still don’t know why any hotel in the modern world can’t be more sustainable either.

Misleading room description in a great location!

I had specifically booked a twin room with a bath for medical reasons, and paid extra money for a superior room, I had requested this on booking. On arrival at the hotel we were informed no superior twin rooms with baths, we then said we would take a less expensive room, but they didn’t have that either. At the time of booking the hotel should have advised that they could not accommodate our request and we would have booked elsewhere. They advertise that the rooms come with baths or showers. The rooms themselves were very basic and I don’t mean chic minimalist. Why when people book twin rooms do they push the beds together, the point is to have separate beds. Sparse amenities, no ladies niceties, no pictures on the wall, deeply disappointing. Poorly designed bathroom, poor furnishings and a slightly sloping floor. Lots of issues, no apology from the management, no nice formalities on check out - they didn’t care if we had a nice stay, they had our money! On the plus side, great location, and a good buffet breakfast.

Amazing hotel! We had a wonderful stay here, it's in a perfect location for exploring the city and within easy walking distance of a variety of restaurants and bars, along with attractions. Our room was large, nicely designed and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was great, with lovely Rituals toiletries included. We loved the old features and the quirky design of this hotel. We ate in the hotel one night and the food was delicious, along with a good wine list. We tried breakfast one morning too, it was good and there was a range of buffet style options but we felt it was quite highly priced for what you get. We decided to eat out for breakfast as there are lots of nearby options. I would also recommend the hotel bar!
The hotel was a little noisy as it's an old building the walls were quite thin, and our room was overlooking the street so you could hear some noise from outside, but this wasn't too much of a problem (especially if you bring ear plugs!).
I would definitely recommend a stay at this hotel!
