Well, you can look at the place as desperately being in need of a renovation...or being charmingly retro. Being charmingly retro ourselves, we choose that. Think of it as being in a time capsule from the 80's. That being said, the staff was excellent, the rooms surprisingly spacious, and all the public spaces were very well maintained. The location is fantastic, right in the middle of downtown. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.

Was told there was no airport shuttle but saw one outside of hotel after arriving.
Staff is very friendly and prompt to contact you or say hello. Rooms are dated and a bit dark, but clean and functional. Bed is very comfortable. Pool is also dated, but clean and towels were always available.

The photo was not representative of the hotel. Short of staff, front entry looked awful, huge amount of spider webs in windows, broken elevator. The whole property was run down. I bet it was nice 30 years ago, but Hyatt has not reinvested any money. The downtown location is great. It’s not a Hyatt brand hotel i visited before. Too bad.

Welcoming to pets but no real pet area. Hotel is pretty run down. Fixtures were leaking overall just a mediocre hotel room. The whole property is pretty run down, large room but I desperate need of a deep clean and refurbishment. It’s ok, but at this price point would choose to stay elsewhere.

Out dated old carpet in the hallways. Called the front desk because the room wasn’t cooling down. She stated would have to send someone to switch from heating to cooling in side the hall in the bathroom. The fan in bathroom wasn’t working. It was clean and staff were nice. Charged a $69 resort fee supposedly with Hotels.com all should be included.

The hotel is extremely noisy. The first room we were given was practically in the lobby of the hotel. We could hear the echoes of every conversation through our room. Doors were constantly slamming by the second night. The staff was able to move us to a new room, however, the club speakers from drag brunch were booming all morning.

I was very disappointed with this Hyatt stay.

My room had no window to the outside — only a window facing the hallway, which made the space feel dark and claustrophobic. The carpet was visibly worn and ripped in places, adding to an overall sense of neglect.

The bathroom was particularly problematic. The outdated whirlpool-style tub had an extremely wide, high ledge, making it very difficult (and honestly unsafe) to climb into for a shower. I literally had to hold onto the wall and crawl over the edge. To make matters worse, the tub did not drain properly, so I was standing in pooled water while showering.

The refrigerator contained someone else’s leftover food upon arrival, which raises serious concerns about housekeeping standards.

Overall, this room felt poorly maintained and below what I would expect from the Hyatt brand. I hope management takes these issues seriously and addresses both cleanliness and safety concerns.

This hotel is in a great location, in the heart of downtown Palm Springs. But the room was a bit tired. Not dirty but rather old. It could use a little updating. Our room needed a light on one side of the bed, and no convenient plugs to charge phones.

This property is unkept and understaffed. Our room was filthy. I went to the front desk to ask for a room change and showed them photos. The front desk agent was rude and unapologetic. The second room was just as dirty. The room was missing bedding, I requested it be brought to the room. 5 hours later we still had not received the bedding. I had to go down to the front desk and request it again, at 9:30pm. The agent said it would be brought up “in like 10 minutes”. 30 minutes later it still had not arrived, at which time I went to the front desk for the 3rd time and asked for the bedding to be handed to me. The elevator was broken and half of the rooms are located outside like a motel. This is not your typical Hyatt.

The staff was excellent. The hotel room was not up to par with other hyatts I’ve been to. The plumbing was bad and the sink and shower was leaking. They were doing some kind of repair work very early in the morning as well. Also the couch bed mattress was horrible, I know they usually aren’t the best but this thing seemed 80 years old so I ordered a roll away bed and you could feel every spring in that one as well. The location is great but they need to upgrade the beds for sure!

The room was terrible. There were old sheets on the pullout couch. It smell like someone recently used the bathroom. I seen the maintenance guy come out of that riim before it was assigned to my family and I. The carpets were dirty, the couch smelled awful, and the room overall was not like what was advertised online. The Hyatt is usually a prestige stay especially since the cost was over $500 for one night in place like Palm Springs. Completely sad. I want a full refund immediately hotel, incidentals, and hotel parking. Also the hotel parking garage is falling apart very unsafe down there.

The hotel is very outdated and in desperate need of updating. Furniture, flooring to include tile and carpet in our room, very shabby. The round dining table is very unstable and seemed unsafe. The couch cushions completely deflated into the couch.

This hotel does definitely not reflect the usual caliber of a Hyatt. The location is ideal and very centrally located but until it is refreshed and updated we would not stay there again.

The room had a few issues like the shower/tub combo not draining normally and the toilet making a weird noise every time you flush. However, Lesly at the front desk was super sweet and helpful checking us in. We had a late flight into PSP but she made sure we got settled and helped us find the hotel parking. If it hadn't been for her the rating would have been lower than 4 stars.

Let’s be real – people choose this property for the location. It couldn’t be better than the middle of downtown Palm Springs, and that was a real boon for our family, traveling with smaller children.

The condition of the property itself was pretty disappointing. In my brother‘s room, the showerhead and faucet were inexplicably wrapped in plastic and taped, with a good quarter inch of dust caked on underneath. It hadn’t been touched in months, and we still don’t understand why. In our room, flipping the mattress on the pullout bed made us wretch. Basic amenities, including phones, safes, and bottles of water were either unavailable or had to be requested specifically.

The whole place is just dirty and run into the ground, and it would be fine if we were paying a standard amount for a hotel. But with taxes and fees, it came to $500 a night. For that much money, they can afford to hire a couple of additional housekeepers and handymen.

Friendly staff and attentive. Although the hotel is dated in some respects it is still clean and the location is amazing. Many walkable hikes, restaurants, shopping, and attractions. Also enjoyed a sitting area and a bedroom and the patio was a plus.

The receptionist was not very helpful. Did not show us where our room was or where other amenities around the hotel like the pool, or the bar are.
The hotel has a worn out and aged look, especially the carpet, the walls, the doors and the furniture.
In the bathroom the faucet was loose and leaked. The corners were dirty. Most of the electrical outlets’ plates were loose and very difficult to plug in your phone to charge. The sliding door of the balcony didn’t have a door handle. There was a sock from the prior guest under the couch, which we could easily see. The corners and behind the furniture was dirty. The walls and furniture had visible wear and damage. Over all would not stay there again.

Considering this is a Hyatt, I was extremely disappointed in the lack of proper condition of most of the facilities. It's very old. Smells very old. Needs a complete remodel. Lots of things were kind of Janky in the room from lighting in all rooms, the bathroom set up was not well functioning & shower nozzles were loose etc....
Very disappointing for the price & name brand.
The only positive is the amazing location, which is why they can probably get away with such low maintained property.

The interior of the hotel, not the room, but from the elevator to the room, the building was not remodelled, dirty, and the carpet and wall coverings should be changed.

In the interior of the room, there is a step that leads out to the balcony that is not marked very well. And I tripped a couple of times.

We had a major plumbing issue. When waking up, the toilet was making noise; shortly after flushing, we experienced a major overflow. We were exposed to hazardous materials and were moved. We were not compensated, provided any refund, or acknowledged. The staff said this is a regular occurrence at this location. This is dangerous and disgusting.

Our stay at Hyatt Hotel was average at best. We have stayed at other hotels in PS for less, offering free breakfast and felt more comfortable in those hotels. Three issues we would like to bring up, besides the cost.

1. We were in a room across the street from the bar that kept us up most of the night with rowdiness and as elderly citizens, the staff should have known to place us on the other side of the hotel. It was not at full capacity.
2. There were obviously bed bugs as I was bitten 6 times in both my legs. Very disappointed! I insisted staff change the sheets which they did.
3. Parking, $30 a night and destination fee of $20 A DAY is really unnecessary and NOT likely to attract us to the Hyatt again. Disappointed to celebrate our 50 wedding anniversary at this hotel with these issues!

The rooms are very spacious, and the location is great.

Cons:
The hotel is quite old, and the room had an unpleasant smell. The balcony was very dirty. I also experienced very poor service at the bar, which really affected my overall experience.

The counter in the bathroom had gunk on it when we checked in. Other than that it was clean, quiet and safe location. Parking was safe and allowed for easy in/out access. Great location when you’re in Palm Springs! If you’re low maintenance, this is a good option for a weekend getaway.

I have stayed at this Hyatt for over 20 years, occasionally for business and more often as a tourist. Unfortunately, things have slowly declined. The rooms no longer offer safes. The room didn't have a small pad of paper and pen. The carpets are becoming worn. The shower needs repair due to a slow leak. On the third day, there was no maid service available to make up the room despite two separate requests. Regardless, the staff is very nice and otherwise helpful. After 20+ years, though, I think this hotel needs a serious upgrade and I may check out other venues in the meantime.

I stayed at this hotel 35-40 years ago and it was premier, excellent, amazing, just beautiful. The lobby was exquisite-overflowing with guests. The rooms were huge and well kept.
To say I was shocked and disappointed at what this hotel has become is an understatement.
1.The room had roaches as the previous guests. I had to ask housekeeping to come and remove the dead ones.
2. The room smelled as if there was a sewage problem.
3.The wall paper was peeling and buckling, noticeably.
4. The carpet was old and needed to be shampooed, if it's not going to be replaced.
5.The outside furniture to our private cabana was so stained and soiled that we had to cover it with towels.
6. The room obviously is not dusted when it is serviced.
7. There is no valet or bell service.
8. I ordered food for the cabana area connected to the room on Monday afternoon. I had to call the front desk Tuesday at 4 pm. to remove the plates that still had food on them. I thought it would have been automatic that room service would return and take the trays and plates away.
9. There is a powerful stench in the hallway that leads to the lobby and the same stench is in the parking garage.
10.The putting green that used to be an added attraction in front of the cabana suites is old, moldy and I would guess, not usable.
I must say that the staff did an excellent job attempting to make up for the hotel's shortcomings. One could tell that they were embarrassed as well.Until they refurbish, Stay away!
