We stayed for one night to get away and it was perfect. Despite the slight winds and chilly weather, the pool was perfectly heated. Loved the proximity to the main street shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again for a longer stay.

This was a pretty butvtired looking property. The room while dark and dingy was pleasant enough. The batroom was tiny. It took a good 5 plus minites to get hot water. There was no telephone in the room to call a concierge or the front desk. In fact the lobby wasn't stsffed and instesd one had to walk around the corner to a sister property to find staff to ask sny question.The staff at the desk was pleasant enough, but having to walk to talk to anyone was inconvenient to say the lesst. The first day when we got back to the hotel and found our room hsd not been touched, we had to walk next door to complain. They werr immedistely responsive and sent a cleaner to the room who brought fresh towels snd apologized but shoeed us thatbher master key foob didn't work to let her in. The pool was beautiful with frsh clean towels provided each day, and a fir pit for use each night. The hotel ewas well situated, within walking districtvto the downtoen area -- restaurants, shopes and the very wonderful Art Museum.

Really disappointed, not worth the money.

1. Was called the day before and asked what time we were arriving so that they could prioritize our room, which I thought was really great. Standard check-in was 4. We arrived at 2 and thought we would check to see if our room was ready. There was a sign on the hotel lobby door that we had to go to the lobby of the sister property next door. We did and were told that there normally would be someone at the lobby during business hours...during our 2.5 day stay, we saw someone manning the lobby desk once.

We were then told our room wasn't ready, but that they would call us as soon as it was. We didn't hear from the hotel that our room was ready until 4:45 -- 45 minutes after standard check in.

2. Property -- we had a staff member walk us to o4ur room, which was the Desert Oasis. When we got into the courtyard, the pool was empty on a 98° day. It badly needed to be skimmed. Our room was under a staircase, and the chair outside was piled with dirty rags and used cleaning supplies.

3. Room -- smelled like chemicals and must as soon as we walked in, we had to open the door on a scorching day just to air it out. Chipped and old paint, dirty walls. Bathroom was dirty, cramped and covered in prior guest's hair clippings. The lights flickered, the sound of the lobby door slamming was so loud at night. Patio was dirty and furniture literally in shreds. Bed not comfortable and squeaky. Only plus was that the AC was very strong.

The free breakfast was in the hotel next store. The limited hours of the front desk was drawback but the sister hotel was available to assist.

Staff are super friendly, level of service was lacking. We were told that there would be a reception staff member in reception for busienss hours. We saw someone there for 2 hrs total our entire trip. No plaquard in our room to designate if we wanted service or not. We did want it and did not recieve it for half our stay. We were told there would be coffee in our lobby AND in the Selena Villas for continental breakfast. There was never coffee in our lobby. Continental breakfast was yogurt, granola, berries, dates and 2 types of pastries. Half our stay the coffee at breakfast was not avaliable (only 25 mins after the start of breakfast). And breakfast would frequently be out of the severely limited options that WERE offered. The MOST unfortunate experience that we experienced at breakfast was when the staff member wiped down the counter next to the granola with their bare hands and dumped it BACK INTO THE granola container for the next guest to use. In the pool area there was no where to deposit used towels and they would routinely be left for over 24 hrs in piles. Really like the area, the actual hotel is super charming, but service was very disappointing.

My best friend and I had a great 3 night stay at the Del Marcos Hotel. It has a wonderful location, the hotel is clean and quiet, and the decor is awesome mid-century modern. Each room is unique and is named after a famous artist, architect, etc from that era. A simple but delicious breakfast (Greek yogurt, fresh fruit, granola, pastries, coffee) is included at their sister property next door. You can also order ala carte items for an extra charge. The sister hotel also provides room and pool service for food and drinks to the Del Marcos. Bikes are also available to borrow free of charge.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION, HAD THE PLEASURE FO STAYING IN THE JULIUS ROOM ABOVE THE LOBBY, OVERSEEING THE POOL AREA. A NICELY HEATED POOL PROVIDED A NICE TREAT FOR THE EARLY EVENING. THE ROOM WAS NICELY CLEANED AND PERFECT SIZE WITH ITS BEAUTIFUL LARGE WINDOWS. THIS COZY STAY IS NESTLED A BLOCK AWAY FROM THE BUSIER STREET AND CONVENIENTLY CLOSE TO MANY PLACES TO WALK TO IF YOU NEED ANYTHING. IT WAS A GREAT HUB, AND WOULD DEFINITELY STAY THERE AGAIN. THE SHOWER DID TAKE A MINUTE TO WARM UP, BUT OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS THE PERFECT TEMPERATURE WITH ITS AIR CONDITIONER AND COMFORTABLE BED.

My room was great! Amazing view! Maria at check in was superb! Thank you for making me feel welcome.
2 things I feels that can be changed. 1- room was clean. But there were spots in the corners of the room that were dirty, or some spots on the walls were missing paint. Maybe a paint touch up.
2- the tv in this room I feel can be moved and or change the tv where it can swivel. The position from the bed is fine but with the couch in the room, I couldn’t watch the tv, couldn’t move it to see it.
Otherwise, I’ll keep this property in mind next time I’m in town.

Rooms were in poor condition- chipped paint, stains on the floor. Uncomfortable bed. Closed front desk- have to work through their neighboring sister hotel. Kitchenettes were barely stocked with what appeared to be a few second-hand items. Not many towels.

We just had to toggle abit as we were unaware there was no staff working at this location. We walked next door to the sister hotel, which wasn’t far and checked in there.
We wish the room smelled better- it was musty.
The hotel itself is really cute- med century revival and would definitely like to stay again, once new management takes over officially.

The staff was great! The pool area and room was cute, but when we walked into the bathroom we noticed these things:

- No room or shelf space to put toiletries.
- Toilet paper was on this rusty and unsturdy holder that kept fall over!
- Toilet was old and stained.
- Between the sink and shower, there was a black/dirty hole near the floor which was about five inches big (looks like something from a horror movie). I'm sure critters can enter as they please. Why can't they just fix it? It makes the place look rundown and unappealing even though certain parts of the room/property looks cute.
- Also, there was a water cooler with lemon slices, which we thought was great, but when we put the water in our water bottle, it was HOT!!! It was gross so we tossed it out.

They could put a little money into the property and fix certain things so it doesn't look so rundown and outdated.

The ambiance was perfect. The pool was perfect. Azúcar, a restaurant nearby, brought us food and drinks poolside. They were a little bit put off by our request for late check-out and all the guests seemed to be getting a bottle and glasses at check-in and we didn’t. I’m not sure why. We got great recommendations for food nearby. There is Village Fest every Thursday which is in walking distance. We were able to catch that and bought some cute things there. Overall, a perfect spot. Friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. Will be back for sure.

Just not the same as it used to be. Each time we go back it just seems more and more run down which is such a bummer because it’s in such a great location. Pool was very murky. Mentioned it to someone and then they said it should start clearing up because he just cleaned the filter. We have a pool and it doesn’t quite work that way. That pool needed to be shocked big time. Woke up and the pool was still disgusting but we were leaving so we stopped caring. One of our tv’s was stuck on a channel (I think we were missing a remote). I had to go over to the sister hotel because nobody ever answers the phone and tell them about the tv. The gentleman at the front desk said that maintenance was gone for the day and I should have said something sooner. Ok. So I said no biggie, and he said I’ll have someone come by first thing in the morning. Nobody ever came. Not that big of a deal but kind of annoying. There were two roaches when we woke up in the morning the first night so that was a treat. So yeah, we’ve been coming here for years. We’ve stayed at both the sister hotels and it’s safe to say that the Del Marcos and the three50 hotel are the forgotten children. They definitely care more about La Serena. No more loyalty discount, no more happy hour. Each time we go back thee is less and less presence of any staff which isn’t the worst but not always ideal.

Del Marcos Hotel definitely needs some TLC. The rooms are quite dated, and the furniture is extremely worn out. The bathroom was tiny and not very clean, which was a big letdown. We specifically booked a room with a patio because we enjoy sitting outside, but the patio was so dirty and uninviting that we didn’t use it at all.

It’s a shame because the property has great potential, but unfortunately, it’s not being maintained to the standard it deserves.

This was my fourth time staying at the Del Marcos Hotel. I love this place. The rooms are clean, bright, and nicely decorated. The hotel is well situated downtown just one block west of Palm Springs' main street. On this visit, my boyfriend and I took advantage of the hotel's free bicycles and went for a ride around town.
My only minor complaint is that sometime between now and my last stay (in fall 2021) the hotel stopped using Lather bath products. The Lather soaps and shampoos were a real treat. The new stuff is pretty generic.

It is a sister property. So you had to go there to check it and get any ice, etc. They charged a resort fee every though they had a pool only, their sister property had a restaurant, bar and pool that was not offered. They suggested that we check out on line, so the extra fee added at check out surprised me and was automatically added on my card.

Great location, property could use updating

Stayed here for on a trip with my mother. The photos and price led me to believe this property would be much nicer than it actually was. I can see the charm of maintaining a historical property but some updates were sorely needed. Certainly the 1947 aesthetic could have been kept while still maintaining appearances. The bathroom was tiny with old fixtures and poor workmanship. The walls were paper thin so it was hard to get sleep. I could hear conversations, music and footsteps from the room next door until after midnight. The location is great and walking distance to the main drag which was a plus. Few parking spots offered but also plenty of street parking. Pool area was dirty on the day of arrival, but was nice on the day we actually decided to enjoy it.

The BAD: No lobby. No people. No ambiance. Insecure entry system (outer doors are almost always open). Worst smallest continental breakfast I've ever seen. No ability to buy anything (drinks/snacks). Room is old. Bathroom has one dim bulb, a sink/faucet falling apart, a fan that sounds like a jet engine, no place to place toilet items or put on makeup, moldy spots. Room has a tiny TV with three coiling messy wires coming from it (not shown in any pictures). A confusing not-simple system of how to watch TV. A tea-like coffee system that creates thin coffee instead of an actual coffee maker (and there's no tea).
The GOOD: Clean room. Good aircon mini-split system. Good location if you want to be close to down town.

Cute Retro Property but not worth the Price

The room was roomy and in a great corner location at the resort overlooking the mountains and salt water pool. Check-in was not available at the hotel at 4 pm. Had to go over to a sister property for check-in which took over 15 minutes with multiple people in line and 1 agent working (very nice guy). Parking was a little tricky and limited around the perimeters of the hotels. There is no bell service or room service. The room had a nice kitchen area stocked. Furniture was worn with scratches abound. The bathroom was very small compared to the room size. There was hair wrapped around the faucet, mold/mildew in the corner of the shower, dirty white towels, and bleached black face towels. The pool was not lit until later in the night after 9 pm). There was a nice continental plus breakfast in the unmanned check-in office in the morning. The computer was not processing payments at checkout, therefore they had to copy my credit card for future charging. Very disappointed, especially at the price point of $500 for a Saturday night.

The good thing about our stay was that it was safe and quiet. There was no one at the desk for check in or check out. Check in took around an hour at the property next door - the system was having an issue which I understand and we had time. But then we were given a room that didn’t have the balcony/mnt view that we booked. It didn’t have a plaque like the rest and actually the tv and bathroom fixture was broken… disappointing for sure. And no one to talk to about this when we left. Probably will book another hotel (not Kirkwood properties) when we visit again.

The property looks fine and is fine for a budget friendly option in Palm Springs. I booked this day of and the rate was good. I didn’t have high expectations. Upon arrival it was easy to check in. Staff was friendly. The room was fine. There is no soap or shampoo in the bathroom so make sure to bring your own as it was weird using hand soap to shower.

Received text the day of arrival saying the front desk would only be staffed until 11pm, we arrived at 6pm to a sign on the door to go check in on property around the corner - not a deal breaker but the front desk was never manned the entire duration, and I'm not seeing anywhere advising check in was at the property around the corner
We were woken up at 1:30am and then again at around 7am new years day, it sounded like someone was throwing/dropping something heavy on the ground over and over again. Was originally going to write it off to an unruly guest and was going to let it go but it happened again the morning of departure.

I wanted to like this place but it missed the mark a bit. Very cool, designer architecture building. Room was big and shower was good. Reception was generally not staffed (need to go next door to their sister property) which led to a general feeling of not being a valued customer (there was a text system to get hold of someone and they were responsive). Cleaners woke us up every morning by shouting outside the door. The pillows were basically two sheets of paper. There was no where to get fresh water and the tap water was cloudy at least one of the days. The pool was good (and heated) and the little patio we had has a nice gas fire. Very nice stay! We made reservations many months in advance because I thought the high season began in December. I was a little disappointed after I got home and did some research that the prices now are a lot lower than when I made the reservation back in the spring.

2nd Timer - Not Disappointed!!

My check-in was a breeze.... the front desk gentleman that took care of me was very nice, quick and accommodating due to me having a gig to get to quick...! Thank you sir for that and the glass of sparkling wine that was much needed...

This was my second time staying at Del Marcos Hotel and just so happened I got the same suite as the first time. My first reaction was a little bummed about it because the room last time just didn't seem very clean and where the room is it's kind of set back underneath a staircase which was a little annoying.

This time the room was very clean and fresh feeling. Maybe it's in the air? Also the patio last time kind of also felt a bit under cleaned for my liking when your paying a good amount for a room anywhere.

This time the patio area was clean, lounge bed area was very clean with seemed like new comfy pillows. Fireplace worked this time and bathtub was clean and ready for use.

All and all even for one night, you guys are doing it right!

An absolute perfect Stay! loved the no kids hotel perfect for a quiet getaway. The restaurant and barn next-door were perfect and beautiful delicious and the staff was very kind. I scored the room with the outdoor bathtub and it was perfect perfection

Hello, I am not one to write bad reviews but I was quite upset that when I came to check in, no one was at the lobby, we waited and looked for about 30 min until we ran into one of the housekeeping employees and ask.

No one told us we had to check in next door if no one was available, that was the upsetting part the no communication. Made us late for dinner reservations as well. Not staying here again.

Pool was nice. No hot tub. Room was dated and needed upgrading ie sink wobbled as had been separated from wall. Bathroom was tiny. Had to angle and close door to use toilet. Light from pool could not be blocked out. Road noise also problem. Will not stay here again.

Hotel is in a great, walkable location and photographs very well, apparently. Unfortunately, the hotel is tired and worn down. Our room had drywall missing in the bathroom. The majority of the outlets didn't work. Incredibly uncomfortable bed with flat pillows. The pool area was great, but only 1 of 2 fire pits worked. We would have moved hotels if we hadn't been traveling with a group.
