Honestly the pictures make it seem so much nicer with full kitchenettes but it’s not even true we paid almost $300 for a little bit bigger of a motel 6…. They had a microwave & small fridge with cups that smelt awful. Bed is so uncomfortable, shower is a small square can barely move in, bathroom door didn’t shut fully.. scared anytime I peed that the toilet would overfill. Chunks missing out of the tile from the bathroom… just overall not worth the price. They make it seem like it’s close to downtown but it’s over a mile & the walk is about 22 ish minutes.

The concept is cute but I don’t think I’d stay here again for the price. I’d rather pay a little more for an Airbnb or a better hotel.. how this place has over 3 stars I’m unsure

I enjoyed my time at a Place in the Sun. The outdoor areas are beautiful and well maintained. I wish my bathroom window could have opened to provide some cross ventilation, but this was a minor inconvenience. A memorable experience and I will consider staying here again.

Charming \"Old Palm Springs\" place with awesome courtyard / Pool and Jacuzzi and cool Bungalows.

Not sure about the others, but mine had a nice patio area had a yard with cool grass, a patio table with 4 chairs and an umbrella, plus 2 chaise longue chairs to enjoy the Palm Springs Sun.

Awesome mountain views in a great area nearby the shopping and restaurant part of Palm Springs. Also close to some excellent hiking trails (S. Lykken Trail).

Also has a full kitchen. Both heaters (bedroom and living room) worked well (it was chilly in the morning).

Just a charming \"Adult Only\" place that I'll definitely visit again. Definitely recommend!

Stay was so brief, but will certainly be back to better enjoy the property! The bungalow was perfect, loved the baby backyard and the LED fireplace in the bedroom. Grounds were delightful. Adult-only policy always appreciated. Service was friendly and swift. Next time, I'm getting in the pool and hot tub, and a hammock!

I love A Place in the Sun. It’s like stepping back in time but with modern conveniences. The rooms are bungalows with little kitchenettes and private patios in the back. The grounds are spacious, the pool and hot tub are great. Hammocks close to the pool, are great in the evening. It’s quiet and well managed. The bungalows feel private are super clean, and have basic amenities. Some kitchenware, small fridge, small tv. It’s a simple room. But comfortable and functional. Don’t expect frills. But enjoy the privacy and nostalgia. I’ve stayed 2 times and will continue to do so. A Place in the Sun is special.

On arrival, you need to text the reception with name to allow entrance to check in. Easy on street parking in a quiet area.

An excellent check-in with a friendly Alex.

A clean and spacious patio King to myself on a killer rate booked same week for a Thursday eve.

The Aircon was great but too loud for me so had to turn off overnight... Which could be a problem for some.

This place has tons of potential....they already have the layout to make a great MCM st
boutique motel....they just need some upgrades and a good cleaning of the exterior. Powerspraying the white exterior brick would do wonders. Also we stayed in room 18....it looks like at one point that was probably the place the groundskeeper stayed....so you walk into the front door and there is a locked door to your left which I realized where the current office is, you walk down the hallway and your bedroom is through one door and your bathroom through another. But you kind of feel like you have no privacy because just down the hallway is the office door.

Checking I if you’re traveling with a pet they tell you to leave pet in car ok I was with someone so no problem, But no way if I’m alone I’m leaving a pet in a car in the desert! Next the metal door you must enter with a code is not user friendly. Lost a bunch of food due to the refrigerator kept trip turning the power off, the room we were assigned was ok but the patio was loud and noisy traveling with a pet I had requested a quit area this was not the case .

Now Alex was great! got there was no towels you have to text no front desk the poor guy was the only one there and as the place filled up he was busy. I’m not sure if I would stay there again due to the inconvenience of the place . But if you’re with a group the rooms are large pool and spa were nice the grounds were well taking care. So might be worth it but if you’re older this might not be what you’re looking for . Best of luck !

I was never greeted. When someone finally helped me it was after waiting almost 20 minutes. The host showed no hospitality. Made it feel like I was not welcomed. I had booked in advance and had already paid for the room. I was asked for an extra deposit that I hadn't seen mentioned on the contract. I agreed to pay it but requested enough time to charge my cell phone and access my accounts. He denied me any help and said they're is nothing he can do and walked away. After finally getting my phone to charge by having to get a portable charger I looked for assistance again to get into my room but wasn't helped until past 8pm

All adult, very quiet, small and retro. Perfect pool area. Umbrellas and tables that are also ice chests.
So safe that leaving your door unlocked is very comfortable. All rooms are close to the pool. There is a BBQ gas grill for community use. Rooms are equipped with all basic essentials. Everyone, including guests were nice. Something I suggest bringing, beach towels...there are some provided but i like covering the entire chair. That's just a me issue.

This property is falsely advertised as a casino resort with spa. No casino. No spa. Doesn’t even have a front desk. It was fine for what it was, bed was comfortable, room was clean. But only amenities were a pool and hot tub. Small tv in the room - not 55” as stated. Workspace was small outdoor style metal table with tiny metal chairs. I would never have booked this hotel for that price. Very disappointed.

I had a strange experience here. Coming from LA - 2 hours from the property. Wanted to check in early to drop off my stuff. Called - and called - and called. They simply didn't answer their phones. Tried calling to make a reservation and was on hold for 2 hours. Finally made it to the property (while still on hold). The property has a parking lot and wall - can't see in. Is this really a place to stay? Waited. A customer came out and said it was was, indeed, a place to stay and had 17 units. She got an employee to come out. He basically said they don't answer the phone until 3:00 when people can check in.

They didn't respond to texts or phone calls from multiple cell phones. Aggravating!

Property is old or classic, depending on your tastes. Things seemed to work well. Quiet - it's in a residential area. It's essentially 17 little bungalows assembled around a pool and lawn.

Wish I could give them a great review - but you really have to answer the phones.

I loved my stay at A Place in the Sun! It’s so quiet and peaceful, and it’s like stepping back in time. The units have everything you need and are so comfortable and spacious! I felt like I had my own little private apartment. Alex was wonderful and so helpful! It’s great that this hotel is in a beautiful neighborhood and convenient to everything. Place is run down and the rooms smell like cat pee. Bare bones amenities (if you consider towels an amenity) and motel 6 would have been nicer.
Staff was friendly but that’s about it. Place is gross. If everything else around wasn’t booked solid we would have left immediately.

Bungalow Heaven in the Desert

What a cute set of 1950s bungalows. Perfect for a friends get away. Adult only which was nice. Pool and jacuzzi are open all hours. Theres a Bar area and BBQ great for gatherings. Private and small so it feels cozy rather than the larger resorts. Each bungalow has a nice size kitchen some have living rooms and dining rooms and private patios. Quite too as it sits away from busy Palm Canyon Drive. Cute neighborhood and 5 mins by car to Downtown Palm Springs, grocery stores and restaurants. Cant wait to come back for another stay.

Why didn't I stay here before?

The opposite feel of a chain motel. Magnificently lit and decorated courtyard with hammocks, golf, trees, warm pool that isn't the usual \"heated but cold\", clean hot tub, relaxing atmosphere after dark. Pools open all night. Text support unresponsive at times, zero roof/ceiling insulation so you have to run AC all the time, jalousie window slats look good but let the hot air in. Very comfy bed. Beautiful polished concrete floors and period details. Needs elevated solar panels 12 inches above existing roof for air movement to solve problem.

This place is incredible! Super cute kitschy boutique motel that is impeccably clean and cozy. It is just so adorable. I am in love with this hotel. The lawn is so well manicured and green, the beds are SUPER comfortable, and the kitchen is a cute vintage space with everything you could need. I love the pool/jacuzzi in the center with the hammocks and lounge chairs and it is just so quiet and serene here. Alex the gentleman who checked us in was so kind and you can tell he works hard to keep this cozy place in check. This hotel was much more affordable than the other options down the road and we are glad that we opted for here. I will definitely be back as I feel super refreshed and relaxed. This is true Palm Springs and did not disappoint.

This is a tired, old property. The electrical outlet used to plug in the coffee maker appears to be overloaded and causes concern for potential fire hazard. I was in room 18 and the configuration of the hallway allowed for the loud late night (11:30 p.m. to midnight) yelling of the residents in #19 to be easily heard.
Complaints on the loud noise to management got a response that they were advising #19 of the quiet time policy -- it did little to handle the situation which disturbed my sleep.

What an interesting place!

So much history, I had no idea until Alex checked me in and explained everything, I was really surprised!
The place was very safe & secure, which was important to me as I was travelling alone.
The bed was SO comfy & you had a choice of pillow comfort. The room was a little retro, which was fun. I didn't use the pool or spa, but wish I would've. The outside nightlighting was beautiful. They have done a nice job in preserving all the beauty & history, it really was an interesting stay!
