Common areas are very well kept but the room may use some TLC (e.g., the things to roll the blinds up/down were broken/taped together with the screws holding them in place coming off the wall; one of the electrical outlets by the bed did not work causing me to unplug the light to charge my phone while it was on the night table), the shower head does need some serious descaling). Food at the restaurant is good but we were asked if we wanted something else before the kitchen closed (at 9pm) even though we only had 2 appetizers (and had asked to keep a menu as we planned to order more food).

I wasn't able to drive to the hotel for check in because of a huge parade bringing in thousands of people was starting just as I got to Palm Springs and all the roads were blocked off getting to the hotel. I wasn't warned the parade was coming so I could adjust my schedule and the hotel refused to refund me my money. I had to stay at another hotel on the outskirts of town, instead. I would not recommend this hotel because the manager is terrible with customer relations.

The check-in was horrible. The staff spent so much time to figure out what we booked. The manager wanted to be “transparent” about our room having a water issue, but I don’t see how that’s our problem? and it doesn’t mean you can put us in a cheaper room instead. It gave us a very bad impression of this hotel from the beginning.

Our Luxury King was big but weird. Both chairs were uncomfortable, and there was a microwave but no refrigerator. The two stars here are for the jacuzzi and the swimming pool, the parts we enjoyed the most.

The room was pretty. Great size. Bed super comfy. There wasn't anything special about the maid service and several things were forgotten or not replenished, but we felt our room was clean. Body lotion has a lovely lemon verbena scent.
We booked a couples massage. That experience wasn't the greatest. Therapists were late (15minutes). We had to wait near the jacuzzi, where there was a jacuzzi party going on outside the treatment room, so it was loud and jovial, but not the serene feel we wanted and the massages were sub par. For $400.00, we did expect a lot more.
We wouldn't book another treatment there, however we would definitely return to stay at the hotel. Restaurant is fantastic and restaurant manager really friendly and helpful.
The pool is a tad on the smaller side, but never the less, the area is really pretty, clean and the lounges are comfy. The setting makes the whole property complete.

The hotel was very beautiful and nice to spend time relaxing. The biggest issue was the mosquitos. There were a lot inside the hotel room biting us and making us miserable and we did not know how they were getting into the room. The staff was not very helpful . I tried to make an appointment for a couples massage at the spa more than a month prior to our booking and they never confirmed. I called again a few weeks later and again they never confirmed. They told us the day before check in that they only had one masseusse. I was dissapointed as that was not enough time for me to find another place to get massages at the same time. The staff in general did not seem to care about our concerns. When we first checked in we were out of soap in the shower and they did not want to refill it until the next day which was ridiculous. For the cost of the hotel I was expecting much better service.

Would give it a 5, it this hotel has no assigned parking, if you find parking in the street then that’s that, if not, you have to park and walk however far you do. Minor thing, but a pillow on Villa 4 where I stayed was ripped … and there was no shampoo on the container :(

This place is beautiful, very well done, with great service. Only complain was the AC system in our room, had the wrong size air filer so when the AC turned off, the filter fell down a few inches and made a loud noise. Didn't get a lot of sleep as I am a light sleeper.

Parking is lacking, AC doesn’t work great (maybe bc it’s summer so it’s hot) but the villa didn’t cool off very well, and the pool area is very lacking in pool loungers. Sat night there literally tent any for my bf and I so we couldn’t play by the pool! Overall good location tho and cute spaces/villas.

The property was really beautiful, we were able to enjoy a spa suite and that was nice to have. Before hand I had let the property know I was celebrating my bday and I was disappointed they didn’t do anything to acknowledge that. Check in was ok they welcomed you with a drink and a towel but room was t ready until exactly at 4 which kind of sucked, also the rooftop was booked for a private event that was one of the reason we booked the hotel for that amenity so it sucjes we weren’t able to experience that part of it but the restauaraunt was outstanding, enjoyed the food and drinks. All the staff we came across were very friendly and accompanying.

This hotel used to be really nice, not sure what happened. It seems to be grossly mismanaged and neglected in a sense of room condition, not existing service to poor food quality and constant mistakes with entry orders. We had planned a romantic stay with my wife that turned into a dreadful experience that we couldn’t wait to be over. Glad we didn’t book for more nights and was able to switch hotels. This used to be one of our favorite boutique hotels in the area. What a shame, we’re bummed :(

I was only here for one night in a spa suite #15. Beautiful place - well lit, safe and the spa and fire pit were highlights. However, after I reviewed online comments this place is half what it used to be. No more tequila or wine waiting for you. No bfast basket. The staff were…off putting. Shower leaked all night. My front porch light didn’t work. It’s starting to show its age. Luxury…maybe. But no longer worth the amount charged. Won’t be back.

Beautiful property but some hiccups

Property is beautiful and we would stay again. There were a couple of things to take note of. At check in we were told we would be receiving breakfast baskets and would be texted the day before about delivery time. Unfortunately we were never contacted either day we stayed about this service. Another issue we encountered was during lunch. We ordered two tacos and when they came out they tasted a little off. When checking the food we discovered a clove. When we asked if this ingredient was supposed to be in the meal our waiter left to ask. After waiting over ten minutes for a response another staff member came back and we asked him the same question and he stated that was not supposed to be in our food. The previous waiter never came back. They were nice enough to discount the food but after that we decided not to eat on property.

This place is absolutely awesome overall, it isn't cheap but the size of the villas along with the fact some come with private patios and hottubs or outdoor bathrtubs makes it overall worth it.
Now for the negatives, for a property as pricey as this one there were a lot of little things you'd think would be taken care of, there was some water damage to the trim on either side of the shower that was kinda unsightly, the hot water didn't work at all on one of the lav faucets, the sprayer for the kitchen sink didn't work at all and was unusable, some of the tableware was dirty still and the kitchen table was still sticky and looked like it hadn't been wiped down.
Would I stay here again absolutely in a heartbeat..if they fixed some of these other issues it would be 5 stars no doubt.

Love coming to La Serena. This our third time. I feel like the staff was a little less friendly this last stay. The facility never disappoints. The restaurant was closed for a plumbing issue for the entire day and only limited beverages were available at the pool. For what you pay per evening, you would think they would have offered something to make up for the inconvenience. It was 105 each day we were there and stayed 3 days. Overall it is a great place to stay. Very intimate and clean facility.

Stayed here for 2 nights for a mini honeymoon right after our wedding, we also let the staff know before that we were celebrating. The property looked beautiful when we first arrived we parked out front,the front desk receptionist wasn’t very friendly she asked what make,model and color our car was I told her and then said “we just parked right out front” and she didn’t say anything. We then pulled our luggage up the steps and through the property to get to our room. It wasn’t till later we found out there were parking spaces in the back of the property right by our room. We stayed in room 14 with the outdoor spa. The room was beautiful and looked just like the photos but there was nothing special done for our honeymoon which was disappointing. The patio area was also very cute! The first day we got massages in what was a small room with independent contractors doing the massages (they let us know that they weren’t part of the hotel staff). It definitely wasn’t the experience I was expecting for a Michelin star hotel spa. Both nights I was woken up by what I thought was the shower on full blast but it was the air conditioner draining into the shower? It didn’t stop for hours I threw towels in the shower to soften the noise but it didn’t work.So we didn’t sleep either night.Also the left sinks water didn’t work out of one faucets & the spa light also didn’t turn on.The delivered “breakfast” to your door every morning which was a joke.

I have stayed here before and alot of the great little details were now removed . The hotel as luxurious as it could be now is just really basic . I would not spend 900 on a 2 day stay for all the basic things and details that stood it apart . I would have much rather stayed else where. Definitely not ever booking here again . The ac unit was not working in my first room and we had to downgrade to another room. The front desk personnel was rude and for this experience it’s not worth the money .

For the price the service was below average. They had minimal staff, the restaurant and bar didn’t have a lot of stuff that’s on their menu especially with drinks we would order a drink and on their menu and they didn’t have the ingredients to make it we ordered 4 different drinks they couldn’t even make. The house keeping was kinda minimal, the room had a wine fridge instead of a regular fridge.

It’s a beautiful property with a pretty good restaurant. Enjoyed the villa very much except for two things. The mattress was uncomfortably hard and the pillows were terrible. Found the staff very friendly and helpful, some fixes needed in the units, sinks not draining, tv not working well, furnishings, while lovely could use a refresh.

Okay, to begin with we liked the property & Palm Springs. Although a bit chilly, we went in mid January, it was bright and sunny every day and CLEAR-you can see for miles around. The property consists of 1 story 'bungalows' and 'cottages' from the 30's but completely reconstructed in 2016. The cottage we stayed in consisted of a large bedroom and a large bath area connected by a utility hallway and a cozy outside fire pit area. Good size for a couple, not for a family. Daily Housekeeping is included though we had to keep reminding them of the need for more than 1 facecloth/washcloth. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was modern. Daily delivery of a continental breakfast is a nice touch, a Keurig coffee maker (they also provided free fresh coffee at the on-site restaurant Azucar if you wish) and fresh bottled water is also a plus. A fridge is included but NO MICROWAVE made for some wasted leftovers from restaurants.Staff was quite friendly and cordial. After a few days there it felt a bit cramped so we would not spend a week there again. The room rate varied from $335 to $803 per night PLUS a daily $48 resort fee and avg $63/day taxes. Overall Price would have been $620 higher had it not been for our Expedia member pricing. The property is VERY convenient to downtown area so we were able to walk to every restaurant, museum/attraction there, you will need an Uber to the airport (10 min) and rent a car to go to Joshua Tree National Park or the PS Tramway as we did.
