My wife and I loved the hotel overall but found the bed was uncomfortable and that the room could use some fixing. The staff is amazing and getting in and out of the hotel and parking was very easy. The hotel is also within walking distance of a lot of great restaurants and stores.

Beautiful, peaceful, and bohemian in the best sense. The lobby is very cool, with funky/mellow music playing each morning at breakfast. The rooms are well appointed with comfy furnishings and fresh linens. The showers are gorgeous! I would only recommend brighter lighting at the bathroom mirror. Also, the front desk didn't have any ideas about how to use the public transportation that is plentiful in Palm Springs. With the SunRide app, you can get a ride to many, many places for a few bucks, versus having to call a Lyft. It comes in handy because the closest place to buy food or toiletries is a mile away.

Enjoyed the low-key vibe, the art deco style and history of the facility. A very cool place to stay. Not a ton of rooms, so it keeps it from being overcrowded and room in the pool and hot tub. Cool water on hand is a nice touch.

my first time staying at this hotel, and I am really glad I selected it. I had one of upstairs rooms, which featured very large, private balcony decks. If you need something, super relaxing, quiet, private and restful (which is what I really needed) I gladly recommend Movie Colony Hotel

A rocky start but an ok stay.
Checking into the MCH I was asked for a $50 deposit for incidentals, which is expected, I guess, even though this hotel has absolutely no service services that could possibly accrue incidentals. Anyway, the credit card machine I could see a tap so ask if I could use my phone to leave the deposit because I didn’t have my wallet with me. I had taken out my ID but had misplaced the credit card. As I’ve come to expect the answer was no, because for some reason, that’s the go to answer at hotels I have found lately. Anytime I make a request. It always seems like there’s never anything anybody can do. Except there is but they just don’t want to. Anyway, so I ask if I can leave cash which she agrees to but says that it will then be $100 instead of 50 plus there will be a 25.99 resort fee but the cheese is closing the front desk in the next five minutes so she wouldn’t be here and I should. I would have to check in at an adjacent hotel. Since I didn’t have my wallet I had to find a Bank of America so that I could tap my phone if you get the cash to pay for incidentals that were not even available. Just a huge hassle and for no reason other than to make things difficult then I could tell. We finally got checked in. The state was fine I guess. The grounds are a bit rundown, but the room was nice and clean. Breakfast in the lobby in the morning was more than the standard stale muffin and juice. It actually had quite a selection of cereals and pastries and stuff.

The property itself is nice, quiet and private however we had issues with our room that was surprising to have. We had mosquitoes in the room and woke with bites. We had ants all over the restroom. On the morning of my checkout, I got into the shower and within a minute or so, a huge cockroach fell on my foot. I don't know if it was on the ceiling and did not see it or it was in the toiletries cubby hole. I had to jump out of the shower and use hairspray to get rid of it. As for the shower itself, the water temperature is not consistent. The water would stay cold and then suddenly come out boiling hot. Too hot to the point where it can seriously burn someone. On checkout, I did inform the manager (Nate) of my experience. I told him they need to fumigate and fix the shower. His response is that the insects are trying to get away from the summer heat. That response tells me that they are probably aware of having an insect issue. I was extremely disappointed at the end of our stay because when I got there, everything looked nice and was hoping to make that hotel one of my regular Palm Springs hotels to stay at.

Cute and quiet boutique hotel with a very pleasant atmosphere . They have a little happy hour at 4:00 pm and a continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a sundeck off our room that was a great place to relax in the late afternoon. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and pleasant.
It’s close to downtown so it’s convenient to restaurants, shops and other attractions.

No complimentary water in room after first night. So I couldn’t make coffee. And the coffee served in the lobby is only after 9:00.
There was also very loud construction at the property next door which had guests wake up at 7:15 am.
I asked for a late check out and all they accommodated me with was an extra 30 minutes after such a loud and miserable morning and lack of sleep.

The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and the HISTORIC OLD HOLLYWOOD VIBE always makes me feel like I’m starring in the 1940’s MUSICAL with GINGER ROGERS and poor Fred Astaire just gets to watch!!! There is always an old classic film playing in the office area and the furniture is not only beautiful, but surprisingly comfortable so I always take a break to enjoy everything VINTAGE AND AUTHENTIC.The rooms are spacious and designed by some of the world’s greatest architects and the prices are so fair you really feel lucky to be staying at THE MOVIE COLONY HOTEL.

I’ve been wanting to stay in this hotel for years and finally took the chance to.
This hotel is very comfortable, quiet and relaxing. A classic Palm Springs hotel with classic mid modern century design, I highly appreciated. The service was great, front desk and cleaning team were extremely helpful and welcoming.
I got to admit, the room I had could have some improvements. The pillows were flat, water kept coming out of the shower so the bathroom mat kept getting wet, the closet door wouldn’t open all the way as the floor was a little warped and the WiFi hardly worked where I was staying.
If I were staying longer this would’ve been a huge issue, but I let it slide as I only stayed for a short time.

Little gem of a hotel, easy check inn we did arrive a bit early and our room was just about ready, very friendly and relaxed, loved the little areas around the pool.
Great view from the balcony over the pool and palm trees with the mountains in the distance, retro music playing at the pool into the evening- fantastic my feet would not keep still, perfect distance for strolling into town.
Continental breakfast in the morning , yogurt,cereal, bagels, toast, juice & coffee.
We would definitely stay here again if we found ourselves in the area, sadly it was a flying visit this time.

Awesome property. Close to many restaurants. Approximately 15 minute walk to main area of North Palm Canyon. Pool and hot tub were very nice. Continental breakfast and wine and cheese in the late afternoon. Staff were awesome and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

One of my absolute favorite hotels in palm springs. It is conveniently located and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. You can take a walk at any time, neighborhood is safe. Rooms are well decorated and beds are comfortable. Wine and cheese every afternoon :)

Great location. Clean and cozy property great for stays of 3-4 nights. Bedding and pillows need a big update and room doesn't have a desk if that's important to you. Nice balcony - bit cold in late Jan to use but it's here. Outdoor furniture wasn't cleaned up so bit of a letdown. Very Clean pool and whirlpool to use as well. Small continental breakfast and wine and cheese options around 4 pm.

This is an adult only hotel, so no kids running around the pool. The rooms have a nice updated mid century modern decor. It was a good value for the price. A few small I convinces, like the ac had the be reset several times. But a nice chill place to stay in PS

The location is close to shops and restaurants within walking distance. The pool area is nice and relaxing and clean as well. The room was nice, it just seems like it has seen better days. The barn door leading to the restroom was holding on by a thread, The carpets just looked dated, But my main complaint would be the Air conditioning unit as it was just way too loud! The rooms really need updated with wall mounted mini splits. Overall I would recommend a stay here as long as you take the above into consideration.

I stayed at movie colony on june 9th through the 13th I was having a nice time until I realized the shower was leaking into the Wow and going through to the. closet. And into the room.Whenever we will take a shower. It completely messed up my clothes and shoes that were in the Closet I called The Front desk and they sent a maintenance guy. I cannot take a shower my last day when I requested a refund. I was told because I paid for the trip on hotels.com That they could not give me a refund and to contact hotels.com Once I contacted them to see about getting reimbursed for the damages to my Clothes shoes and suitcase. And they contacted movie colony hotel hotel. And was told by management that nothing ever happened like that But I have pictures and videos of the flooding and they have to do an investigation because they never heard of Any flooding on there It is now june 22nd and I still haven't heard anything
