My room, #108 was basically in the communal kitchen, it was noisy on all three nights (up until 10pm) and then again from early in the morning. Easily the most noisy "hotel" I've ever stayed at. I asked if I could change rooms, but apparently none were available.

The hotel needs upkeep, I think it's on the older side (price reflects). That said, cracks in the wall, flimsy bathroom doors and having rooms directly adjacent to the lobby lended the room to a poorer stay.

The area was also a little seedy, and as we were traveling with family, walking back from the trolley stop at night felt a little dicey.

I think in the future, we would have spent the money for a nicer hotel a little closer to the city.

Need better instruction, which keypad and which number to press for the Reception Desk. Maybe a bigger sign in the front. Once you figured it out, the stay was very nice, the staff was very accommodating, they cleaned the room every day, and let us store the luggage after check out.
There is microwave you can use. The guests who don't know Portugese need clear instruction on the use of the kitchen.

Good enough for a night over in Lisbon but not for an extended stay unless you're backpacking. And the church bell rang every half hour until around 7:00pm....super annoying if you're trying to recover from jet lag

Outside not nice

The place is not nice outside, you can actually pass it, its
dirty and entrance scary. Old elevators, has TV with only
2 channels in Portugese a cartoon channel and chat .
For 2 days didn't even have the working TV.

The inside itself isn’t so bad, but I am not used to Hostel staying. This was not the nicest side of Lisbon, and while the hosts were lovely and the rooms were clean and in great condition, I would not stay here again with or without my children. This is a better option for younger travelers traveling without children or who are used to noisy environments like sirens and ambulances. There seems to be a line of demarcation in Lisbon where there’s suddenly lots of graffiti and much more foot traffic. This is that side of town. It’s not terrible, but it’s just not my cup of tea.

The only advantage is its location. Very close to the metro station and at walking distance to the city center.
I would not recomment for a stay of over 2 days.
I did not find it convenient for families.

We really enjoyed the authenticity of the neighborhood that offered some great options for eating and drinking, as well as a break from the tourism parade closer to the waterfront. The walk to the centro neighborhoods is quick and easy, and there is a metro stop only a block from the hotel that can get you downtown, or even the airport easily.
Our room was clean and comfortable. The communal kitchen is also practical for keeping and preparing food.

the people were nice, but there was only hot water one night for a short time. The a/c unit was a stand alone with no outlet for the hot air so it created heat towards the floor while up above was maybe cooler. As it was hot out, our room was hotter. The locks on door did not feel adequate. It was loud but i expected that.

I just want to make it clear that this place is a hostel/hotel although we did have a private bathroom the rooms were very small but good since we only stayed a night, the staff were very kind. When you enter you must take the elevator or stairs to the first floor and that is where you'll find the hotel/hostel, it's confusing at first. Overall good stay if ur on a budget, the door knob had problems closing but we ended up figuring it out.

Great value for money

This is a budget accommodation where for a reasonable price you can get a room with private bathroom; therefore, expect a far from spotless decoration, wonky bits and dodgy appliances. That said, the room I had was spacious and bright, with plenty of storage space, a really large bathroom and a balcony with 2 chairs and a table, overlooking a nice and quiet square. Beds are comfortable. Spare blankets and pillows are provided. Rooms are cleaned and tidied every day. Reception is open 24/7 and they can speak English. Good wi fi. Should you need it, there is a fridge on each floor and a communal kitchen on the 4th. Metro, bus and tram stops are within no more than 2 minutes walking. Lidl and Auchan supermarkets, grocery and fruit and veg stores, plenty of eateries, cafes and restaurants specialising in any kind of cuisine, including vegetarian and vegan, are in a radius of less than 10 minutes. As in any other European city, there is a fair share of destitute and homeless people around but I have never been bothered. Oh, and I found the old fashion lift rather cool.

The check in process is done by hand and took awhile. The place was clean and staff was nice. The hot water situation was not great-bring your patience as you fiddle around trying to get the hot water back when you covered in soap. Also, while this may be common, they ask that you not flush toilet paper. You need to throw used toilet paper in the waste basket. Others may be fine with this but this was too much for me.

Bad experience.

First time I stayed in a hotel that can make me felt so grumpy/ upset, no privacy and the room is so small that I feel I am here as refugees not a tourist. The whole stay I leave the room early and came back to rest in really late night to minimise my emotions breakdown as I don't want to upset my children and my friends.

I booked 2 rooms. They arranged our rooms in separately floors.
My friend got a nicer room in top floor.
Therefore this review is just for my experience.

They arranged me a very very bad room which no space to walk if you put you luggage on the floor. I can't use the balcony because the view was many tents of homeless people with the noise and smell. Then, the toilet was nightmare that have no legroom. The bed was so so old. Also , my room door is literally in reception. Guest can look inside when I open the door.

I did make a complaint within first hour I checked in . But with NO success with room change as was so busy or compensation.

For my friend , she agreed that she had better room but this place make her feel insecure and imitating.

The cleanliness is hats off! Room is spacious and even the shared toilet is always neat.
Two minor drawbacks related to the hot water when taking a shower. The boiler works for 40 seconds then there's cold water for a minute then hot water again for 40 seconds. So make sure to take a quick bath or manage the situation.
Also the elevator is out of date. Although functional but has this annoying condition that you need to close the internal door so that it can be called by other.
So imagine yourself getting back late at night exhausted and you wait for it to go to the 4th floor then you find out that someone has used it and forgot to close the internal door so it is stuck somewhere up. You will have to go up using the stairs. Now imagine the same situation with bags in your hands..

Very clean room and extremely kind and helpful staff. Well situated and great condition. Only con is that our room was next to the kitchen and due to the thin walls, we could here other residents using the kitchen and talking as loud as ever, however this isn’t exactly the hotels fault and in the end, it made us wake up and leave earlier which wasn’t all bad.
Overall I would stay again, I’d just ask for a more quiet area for the room.

Property was hard to find there was no visable sinage on building. The location was a little scary at night. The bed comfort was stained.
As we turned the sheets down on one of the beds we noticed a hair on the bottom sheet.
We only booked this at last minute, but would not never book again.

hotel situé dans un quartier peu sur, bryant. l hotel ressemble à un hotel de 'passe' pas de clim, la propreté est a revoir, les refrefirateurs dans la cuisine sont sales, pas d eau tiède uniquement chaude ou froide dans la douche ! insonorisation horrible on entend meme le robinet dans la chambre d à côté, volets cassés qui ne fermaient pas.en entier. nius sommes decus et surtout étonnés que cet hotel soit proposé par hôtel.com ! vos critères sont à revoir. plis de 80e la nuit pour un.taudis !!!

La limpieza aparentemente bien, pero no limpian debajo de las camas, a mi pareja se le cayó un anillo debajo de la cama, tuve que levantarla para cogerlo, y estaba el suelo entero sucio y había una mancha de vino enorme y tenía pinta de ser de hace tiempo. Mediocres respecto a la reposición de papel higiénico, daba la sensación que estaban justos de stock y que tenían miedo de que se acabara, solo había un enchufe en toda la habitación, hasta ahí todo medianamente pasable, lo que es inaceptable es que tenían un cartel en la habitación en el que ponía “¡ ATENCIÓN
EL HOTEL NO SE HACE RESPONSABLE DE LA DESAPARICIÓN DE OBJETOS DE VALOR O BIENES PERSONALES DEJADOS
EN LAS HABITACIONES!” Siempre que sales a pasear estás preocupado de que si algo desaparece dentro de tu habitación nadie se hace responsable
