Rooms were lovely. It was for a special occasion and the hotel left a lovely cake and decorations in the room. The walk into the centre was only 10 minutes, but there is a metro and tram stop right outside. We would 100% recommend and stop here again!

On the first day, I was a little worried about the location, that it would be tough to walk late at night from downtown, even though it is not that far but a little sketchy area. However, it worked out very well. UberX was only 4 euros and every day we were walking down to the city center or Alfama areas and then taking Uber back to the hotel. Hotel was I think the best we've stayed at, even better than Las Vegas hotels. Spotless and very modern, comfy beds, comforters. Buffet breaskfast was also very good with variety. Service was also very unique, not your typical front desk, but you're greeted by a person and make seated for check in and the person takes you up to the room, explaining how everything works, etc --a service we never had anywhere else. I would definitely recommend Dos Rios. Staying in the heart of the city could have been nice but prices are very steep, not even comparable.

However, there were a couple of issues that impacted our experience. On our first day, the hotel had a water outage. Luckily it was resolved before we needed to leave, but it was still an inconvenient start.
Most importantly, the breakfast service was extremely disappointing. The man working the breakfast area was consistently rude, and his attitude made the experience uncomfortable. When we asked simple questions, he responded with unnecessary attitude. I also overheard him refer to another guest as “gorda” (fat) in Portuguese, which was shocking and completely unacceptable. This reflects poorly on the hotel and is something management should address immediately.
Because of this, we chose not to return for breakfast, despite having paid for it each day. Unfortunately, this experience alone would keep us from staying here again.

We stayed one night during early/mid December as a lay over & visiting friends. We booked the standard/basic room, which is exceptionally small.
The bar was closed due to the \"off\" season and there was no room service. We even asked multiple times for things to get sent to room (extra water, coffee, etc.) which never arrived after multiple times.
So, there was no vibe and service wasnt really there, plus rooms were very small for Lisbon. I wouldnt stay again for the price, even though it wasnt bad.

Not Soundproof as Advertised
This is a cardboard box disguised as a beautiful hotel in a not-great area of Lisbon. The rooms are clearly advertised as soundproofed and this claim is entirely false. The hotel is on a very busy street and the street noise is definitely audible from the room at all hours. Worse though, is the noise from the interior. I was unlucky and there was a group of young men partying in the hotel during my stay and they caused a ruckus until 2 and 3am. I heard every note of their music, their yelling, their incessant knocking and every ding of the elevator as they rode it up and down at all hours. If my room was soundproof as I was led to believe, this would not have been an issue and my two days in Lisbon would not have been negatively affected by lack of sleep. I’m so disappointed in this hotel and stay. While the front desk staff apologized for the noise and told the noisy guests to keep it down (which they did not), it was much too little too late. On top of all of this, the neighbourhood is really not the best (more unsavoury than unsafe) and pretty out of the way (although the metro is virtually right out the door). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would never stay here again.

Definitely would stay here again without a doubt. Must insist by going to front desk. No stationary. Charged more on site than what Expedia said to expect (a tax).

This is a good 4 star hotel. Room was nicely furnished, comfortable, and quiet; coffee machine and small free minibar a nice touch. The hotel is well located and restaurant food was good. Couldn't give five stars as our carpet needed a proper wash and the breakfast was only average. Changing the coffee machine and having a better selection of cold meats and cheeses would go a long way towards rectifying this.

However it was a little too over designed for us - you press a button for everything! And felt sometimes that over design was not practical ( no light in the bathroom - the switch is by the exit door - not great for nighttime visits)

This property was better than I expected based on the reviews about the staff. The young lady that checked us in was so nice and very helpful. She was even able to get housekeeping to make our twin room into a single bed even though we checked in late due to our flight delay. She also gave us recommendations for food and things to do in the area. I’m so mad at myself for not remembering her name. The morning staff wasn’t overly friendly but they weren’t rude. The room was small but comfortable for 2 ppl. My husband and I was not in each others way at all. The room was immaculate I’ve never felt this comfortable in a hotel that isn’t the Four Seasons or Intercontinental. I’m not a snob hotels just trigger all of my little anxieties but this place was great. I would go back to Lisboa just to stay here that’s how much I loved it.
