The room was awful. One of the windows has a blind that only goes half way down and the bottom half of the window is frosted. This meant that the room was so light all night and I couldn’t sleep. The rooms in serious need of redecorating - marks all over the room. Was generally clean and good location

Location otherwise overall, I will not recommend this property. Why?
1. Very small room
2. Small towels as in small
3. Free breakfast but no variety, ham, toast, cereals, noodles, eggs- everyday
4. Questionable cleaning process, you can see the towels by the stairs being dried up near trash bins
5. They don’t clean rooms everyday- you have to pay extra to have it clean
6. No staff available after 9 pm
7. Centralized aircondition for all the rooms- we have to complain about befire they turn in the aircondition

Right at the heart of Myeongdong Shopping district

I initially got lost. You need to walk within Myeongdong to find it. It's not like you will spot it as soon as you come out of Exit 7 or 8. But it is still a close walk to the subway or better, right at the heart of Myeongdong shopping. The night manager speak little english. But the morning and afternoon staff can. Overall, I had a great time in Seoul. The advantages far outweighs the disadvantages so I am leaving good review.

The place is very convenient. The room is clean when we got there but they dont do regular room cleaning. We had to request 2 times before granted. We stayed for a week so it was hard to do all the cleaning our selves. Staff are very polite but Not too many speak english. The bathroom is complete and hot water is available all the time. The beds are very firm.

reality so different to advertised hotel at the time of booking.... really run down.. nobody at reception when checking in, bad manners when I call someone to show up on the phone.... paper-thin walls, you can hear your neighbors.... tiny bathroom when u shower everything gets wet, even outside bathroom.. The location is very strategic just right in the middle of Myeondong shopping street. There is unpleasant smell from the toilet sanitary so need to make sure the toilet door is always closed. Also found some stain on the bed sheet.

Quite disappointed compared to previous stayed

The hotel location is perfect for shopping, food and metro station. However, the cleanliness of the room is quite disappointing. There’s hairs all over the floor, beds and dust quite a bit on the desk and floor.

The front desk agent doesn’t seem very welcoming seeing guests walking. The way she talked to us is more like instructing us what to and not to do.

Earlier this year Jan, I stayed in the same hotel but it’s called K Guest House, the room is clean and front desk agent is very helpful and friendly.

If I am travelling to Myeongdong again, I’ll consider staying in other hotels.

It was amazing we could stay in the central of Myeongdong where we can reach very popular and famous shops and restaurants in a few minutes. They also welcomed kids so we could stay in the family room where we have plenty space to lie down and relax. The staffs were so nice and the breakfast room in the basement and lobby and cafe space on the first floor were very modern. Next time we are really into staying here again!

the location is very convenient.. very near myeongdong station exit 7 or 8.. easy to locate and near the myeongdong shopping district so every thing you need is all there within the hostel.. breakfast is also ok.. they refill eggs,ham, bread, cereal, juice, milk, ramen, coffee.. can also microwave.. cleaning part, i guess they don’t clean everyday.. they also provide toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. staff not that friendly coz they don’t smile or greet but they can speak english so i guess still ok.. if i’m coming back to korea, i’d love to stat here again

The hostel was inexpensive. It was in Myeongdong near the subway. They had an elevator. The kitchen area was accessible during open hours. I didn't like that they saw me using a lapto & said l couldn't use it because it didn't belong to the hotel when the laptop was my own that I brought from work. I didn't like that the receptionist just walked into the room without knocking when I was lying on top of my assigned bed in my bra after showering after taking a very humid hike and she wanted to escort in a new guest. I had to tell her to wait outside while I finished getting dressed. She didn't know to excuse herself and shut the door to give me privacy to finish dressing. I also didn't like that there were no rules about lights and noise after 11P like another hostel had as two of my hostel mates came in at 2A after leaving at Midnight and turning on all the lights and talking loudly in Russian. I also didn't like that the alley was filled with smokers when I am allergic to smoke. Although one of the reviewers mentioned it, I didn't realize how bad it was. I didn't like how we had to put our toilet paper in a basket in the bathroom rather than flush and being told that they only clean the room every 3 days and I needed to have told them by 10A that I needed the room cleaned. It was the second day the trash hadn't been taken out. I asked for trash bags to take out the trash myself. They took a 10K KRW deposit so I could lock my things up but they had no locker keys.

一部屋4人、二段ベットが2つ。ゲストハウスなので、他の人が深夜にシャワーを浴びようが、電気をつけようが構いませんでした。しかし、4人泊まる部屋と思えないくらい狭い。スーツケースは広げられない。メイクをする時に利用する鏡は、自分のベットの前のみ。自分含め、4人もいればその鏡を使う時間は被るため、外に出る時間が遅くなった。バスルームにも鏡はあるが、シャワー浴びた後だと曇ってタオルで拭いても何も見えない。それから、シャワーを浴びた後、トイレの床が水浸しで気持ち悪い。
清掃も毎日行われていなかったため、部屋の床には髪の毛が落ちているのが目立ち、新しいタオルも補充されていなかったので、前日と同じものを使った。
受付は、夜22時以降は誰一人いない。フライトの時間が、午前10時で7時くらいにはチェックアウトしたが、人がいなかったので、デポジットも受け取る事ができなかった。今回、一人旅で宿泊費はあまりかけたくなく、立地も明洞で良いと思い、こちらのゲストハウスに決めたが、値段以外に良いことはなかった。もう二度と利用しないと思います。

2. There is no 24 hours front desk, I checked out at 5am and still not getting back my deposit money.
3. No daily room cleaning, need to request, and yet they're not committed to clean up.

The hostel was a good place few steps in Myeongdong Shopping Street. My stay in hostel was overall good except from my last night the aircon did not work well instead of cool air the aircon unit blew hot air that makes me irritated & did not have a good sleep. I ask the staff in front desk for more than 10 times but instead of checking the aircon him self he said its ok & normal.

Superb and convenient location. Only few mins walking from train station and it’s located right in the myeong dong shopping district. When we shopped too much or couldn’t find a toilet, just walk back anytime to refresh ourself and continue shopping. Friendly and professional staff. Nice cafe at the reception area. Room is clean, size okay but if u have two big luggages, u have to open one at a time. Like the warm shower with stable and good water pressure during the winter. Not too much noise from the street as all shops close at 10pm. No complaint bout the breakfast as it’s worth it with the price. U will enjoy cooking it urself in the nice spacious canteen. I’ll stay at the same place if I can be back again.

We had a nice stay at K-Guesthouse Myeongdong 3. Very convenient location. Near the airport bus and Myeongdong station exit 8. The rooms are small but cozy. Staff are also friendly. They only provide free room cleaning every 3 days and free breakfast is limited to bread, cereals and eggs. You have to cook the eggs yourself and must wash the dishes afterwards. Only weird part is you can only use the pantry and laundry at daytime which is kind of weird since tourists are mostly out on those hours.

Arrived at night, and tried to find the guesthouse by using the Myeondong Cathedral as a landmark. But one can't see the cathedral for all the other buildings. Wandered around quite a bit before finding the street/alley where it is located. Street/alley is very dark (if I were female, I might have refused to stay there; also, a lot of smokers hang out there).

K Guesthouse left me the key for my late arrival---nice service. Room was clean, except for a pair of dirty socks left in the shoe cabinet by the previous guest. The lady at check-in the next a.m. was very nice. She said I could request cleaning after my 3rd night (but I misunderstood her and thought that cleaning was automatic after the 3rd night). In any event, the room was small but comfortable, with plenty of heat from the remote control heater (it snowed in Seoul the 1st night). The only (small) negative was that, on one afternoon, there was no hot water. WiFi worked well.

Breakfast was OK, with the fried egg option a nice touch. Did not mind at all that we had to clean our dishes ourselves. The only negative was the coffee---it looked great but tasted very weak.

Would stay here again.

Very nice guesthouse on a side street in Myeongdong. Our room was on the fifth floor it was small, as you might expect but clean and comfortable. Best thing is the location. If yo7 want to be in Myeongdong, this is the place. If you need a large room and bath and lot’s of counter space, look elsewhere. Easy access from Myeongdongdong station. Exit 8 or 9, I think will get you on the correct side of th3 highway. It is just east of the cathedral, so that signage will get you close. Breakfast is included and it is self serve starting at 0800h.

Location is amazing. It’s situated in the quiet area of Myeongdong. It’s hidden from the busy side of the market which is very convenient if you like it peaceful after a long day. It was a bit challenging locating it with google maps. It is close to the Myeongdong train station, keep it in mind cause we went in circles lol. The bath towels could be bigger but overall very good!

Clean room,very convenient as its a short walk from exit 8 of myeongdong station. (Very important as it is really cold this time of the year) Breakfast choice was basic,dont expect buffet stuff. Toast bread and eggs are all self service. Need to wash up the dishes and cups after eating. Counter service was polite and prompt. Generally, a pleasant stay.

My 5 day stay in Seoul

I had a lovely 5 day stay in Seoul. People were friendly and helpful. All museums were free as I am over 65 and English guides and tours included. Location of guesthouse was 2 short blocks from a subway station. The subway is cheap and easy to use. I learnt a lot about the people and their history during my stay. Would recommend a visit by all interested travellers.

Didn't expect such a small space, if you have two big luggage, you won't be able to open them up fully, even opening one up fully is an issue.

Room is clean and comfortable though, just small space.

Breakfast provided is simple bread and egg, but don't be surprised, you will be expected to wash the plates and cups that you used.

Friendly staffs.

Washing machine is really one small washing machine in a small room, no dryer, unable to do laundry properly.

Stayed there for five nights during our recent trip to Seoul. No-frills but generally comfortable accommodation, with a fantastic location just off the main shopping belt of Myeongdong. Room size was a little small for three pax, as we had to shuffle around a little esp with our luggage, but otherwise met our needs as we weren't in the room very much. Room cleanliness was average, as the sheets didn't seem very clean even when we first checked in. However, the staff were great, and made our stay with their friendliness and ready assistance. The guesthouse's location was unbeatable, giving us the option of returning to the room for a quick breather or to drop off stuff between bouts of shopping. Would stay here again during my next trip to Seoul!

Good value for money. Very helpful staff. Located right in the middle of Myeongdong, perfect for those who'd like to shop. Also a just a few minutes walk to the subway station. Though bathroom was really small, the room has enough space to open luggage and move around a bit.

Great location for price

Guesthouse is conveniently located in Myeongdong, and conveniently near Exit 7/8 of the MRT and <3 min walk to the 6015 Airport Bus stop. Great place to stay, especially since you can always do some quick shopping every night after coming back from your day trips in the other parts of Seoul. In a 2-person room, we could leave 1 big suitcase open. Having both suitcases left open is possible, but might be a bit of a squeeze.

Guesthouse is exactly as described and shown in photos. I think it is perfect for:
- solo travellers - I got a double room for myself
- couples with minimal luggage - I think the room would be too small with more than 1 big luggage bag
- for friends I would recommend booking 2 rooms - simply put for the price I would rather book 2 of these than 1 mediocre hotel room.

The room had a small fridge (note the fridge barely keeps anything slightly above room temp - I didn't find this too inconvenient as I only put face mask packs in there. For water I kept refilling my water bottle from the water cooler hence had ice cold water), a small makeup/bedside table with mirror, small stool to sit on to put on make up, hairdryer and 4 electrical outlets. The bathroom came with shampoo, conditioner, bodywash.

Things to note:
- Wet bathroom design - A shower curtain separates the shower and toilet. It isn't elevated to keep water in the shower 'cubicle' and the shower head is attached basin. It's small but perfectly usable. Wet bathrooms are common in Korea
- Light sensitive people bring a sleep mask - exit sign on top of door stays lit, curtains are thick but does not completely cover the window. These things don't bother me but I know some people are effected.
- Noise - you can hear to a certain degree but I wouldn't say it is paper thin walls. I would say generally its fine unless you have a particularly noisy neighbour.

I would DEFINITELY stay again. Staff are super friendly.

Honestly, I think the stay would have been great if there wasn't an incident on \"water sprinkler leak\". The leak wetted the window, bed and floor. Somehow the water causes some rust (my guess is the window grill) to flow into the bed and floor. Causing my luggage to be wet and it soaked through to the contents within. Luckily I didn't expose more of my belongings on the floor or on the bed.

I got in touched with staff and he took a couple of minutes to understand the situation and rushed down. I was thankful. The staff investigated the scene and claim that it must be due to a fire alarm testing earlier in the afternoon. I bought the idea and was offered a new room to stay.

As it was close to midnight, I was too tired to dwell too much on the incident and spend quite a while cleaning my stuffs.

However, the next 2 days, I was kept reminded that they may need me shift back to my old room. Honestly, I'm not pleased at all.

Firstly, the rooms are both of the same size, same bed, same furniture. (The level is different though) The idea of shifting again is definitely time consuming. Time is so precious especially when on a travel.

Frankly, I think they should have offered me a better service or concern instead of telling me they may need me to shift again.

Great location for easy traveller

Stayed for 6 nights and it was overall a pleasant experience. The location of this guesthouse makes up for any discomfort or unpleasantness. It's very near exit 8 of Myeongdong station and you can find it easily.
The receptionists were very friendly, helpful, available until 1am and they speak good English. However, their airconditioning/heater is centralised so if you want your room heated, you have to go to the reception counter to activate it. It is quite a troublesome method as I have gone up and down thrice because the system wasn't done properly (there is also no room phone to reception).
I stayed in a room with a double bed by myself and found the space to be sufficient but if I had shared it, it might be a bit too small for two big luggages. There isnt much walking space but also depends on the layout of the room.
The bedding wasnt as clean as I liked it to be but then again, this is not a high budget hotel, so for the price I paid, it was sufficient.
They provide soap and towels in the rooms but the towels were like facial towel sizes and you have to manually bring them to the counter if you like to change them.
There are many downsides because of the 'no frills' nature of the place but for this price, location and cleanliness of the place, it is a great place to stay at.

This hotel is location is in the middle of shopping heaven. Branded shop and yummy food in Myeongdong. Easy access to 2 mins walk to nearest subway, 7-eleven, airport shuttle bus no. 6015. Breakfast is provided but don't expect too much, DIY fried egg, bread & jam, milk and juice, cereal and coffee of course. a microwave if you are on a budget for lunch or dinner, you can purchase some ready cooked food from 7 Eleven and re-heat here. there are hot and cold water dispenser on each floor.

The gueathouse was comfortable, even if it is smack in the middle of busy myeongdong. Easy access to the subway and pretty much everything. The only problem is the cleaning people don't clean at all. I have ran into the cleaning lady just when i was about to leave for the day and i asked for her to clean our room. She told me that i had to tell the reception first instead.

Stayed as a couple. Caught by surprise that the room was really really small and it can barely fit our 2 big size luggages. The room has it's own private toilet but have to take out the toilet roll when having shower or it'll get soaked. But apart from that, the guesthouse located in the center of a shopping district. The surrounding is alive till midnight with good food and beautiful people all around. The guesthouse do provide a decent breakfast in the morning just that you have to fry your own eggs and do the dishes after you're done. I must say if you dont mind cleaning your own dishes after breakfast , its a decent place to stay. Remember to request for daily housekeeping or they will only do it every 3 days.

Gem in Myeongdong!

Guesthouse is located just 3 mins away from Myeongdong subway exit 8 and is right smack in the middle of a great shopping paradise. This place is newly renovated just couple of months ago thus its really clean. The room is probably only about 11sqm so its not for those fussy people.

They do not provide daily housekeeping. You will have to request before 10am 1 day before. Staff can speak really good english and they are friendly and helpful so we was well taken care of during our stay.

I totally enjoyed my stay of 11 days and will definitely stay here again and will totally recommend this place to my friends.

Fantastic Location in Myeong-Dong and Easy to find. The room was very clean, although they are tiny. But everything was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. It's a great price in comparison to the other hotels and guesthouses in the area that I was looking at which charge close to double. I will definitely be going back.

k guesthouse is located in the centre of myeongdong, and it's close to everywhere. Taxi costs to surounding attractions were never over 5k won in off peak hours. We stayed in a triple room. Though, the room is really small, the area is well manage and provides a lot storage space to locate your luggages. The hotel is recently renovated, and the facility is quite new. Staffs are kind and very helpful.

Two things need to be improved, 1, when taking shower, there is always water coming out from the toilet, need to be very careful to not showering against the door, otherwise the room will be flooded. 2, the guys next door were extremely noisy at night. There were two nights in a row, the speaked loaded at 3am. Complained to the staff, and it got better.

If you need a place in Seoul, THIS IS THE PLACE!

A 4-minute walk from the Myeongdong exit 8 subway station in -14degrees is worth it when you are warmly welcomed by excellent hospitality.
Breakfast was great where you can have quick instant meals or whip up a meal at the pantry.
The staff were very friendly and they are excellent people to practice your Korean with! The staff there are bilingual and it was really fun having conversations with them!
The guesthouse is strategically located in the heart of Myeongdong where there is a huge variety of food (street food as well) and shopping (the best discounts are from Tuesdays to Thursdays, especially for cosmetics)! The subway and bus services are very efficient, and together with the app 'Seoul Metro Subway Map & Route', you will be able to travel anywhere around Seoul.
The wifi at the guesthouse was strong and fast. The rooms may be small but luggages could still be fully opened. Bed was comfortable. Room was warm. Shower area may be a bit cramp but the drainage was excellent and they provide HAIR CONDITIONER, which is hard to come by in Korean hotels.

OVERALL, we are very pleased with our stay and we were very touched by the staff when we had to leave for the airport at 5am! They got up to switch on the lights, and made sure we did not leave anything behind and went down to the ground floor to send us off.

Comfortable, value-for-money guesthouse

The room was fairly clean. The staff were accommodating of left baggage requests, and even of taking in our strawberries in their refrigerator even when we have already checked out for the day. Each room has shampoo, body wash and fresh towels - no toothbrush though. The location is perfectly close to where all the action in Myeongdong is happening, yet it is tucked in an alley that makes things peaceful and quiet at night.
