Perfect location, so many shopping and dining options just downstairs. Conveniently located between 2 subway stations. Room was a little small but super clean. Hotel lobby was well equipped with coffee/tea and shower necessities. Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel, super convenient to local attractions. The night market is set up directly outside the hotel doors. There’s plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars within a short walk from the hotel. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the room is clean, albeit cramped to a couple of big backed Americans. All in all, I’d definitely stay here again when returning to Myeong Dong.

Area is easy to commute to from town using the subway, within average walking distance to the stations. The only cons are that the room was located above a restaurant and it was unable to open the window for fresh air as the smell of food would get inside the room.

Middle of touristy shopping and restaurant, slightly more expensive but a very happening area. Fantastic food and lots of shoppping transportation was easy enough. Rooms are tight but effecient and modern.
Dont pay for breakfast as its not in the hotel its coupons for 4 different places with very low value for breakfast..not worth it. There are great restaurants so just pay for breakfast you want.

If you’re planning on soaking up the lively atmosphere of Myeandong then you couldn’t be closer to the action here. Helpful and accommodating staff, clean and comfortable room, Though they don’t serve breakfastt on site they issue vouchers for meals at restaurants nearby. One warning! - Pack earplugs !!!, Myeandong is noisy till late and the windows at the hotel are not soundproof

Highlight of this accomodation was the location. Central to bus stops and subway stations. Also situation in a street where the markets are lively at night, as well as retail stores. We liked the location and the cleanliness of the room. It is in the middle of Myeongdong shopping street and food night market. There are many restaurants in the area. However, the standard room is very small and the breakfast is not in the building. I chose this Japanese brand due to the high standard of Japanese culture but the breakfast is far away from the hotel. I’m waiting for my partial refund but it is being delayed by Expedia despite of my reply to Expedia with the proof of my payment. The Expedia recipient's mailbox is full and can't accept messages. Thankfully this hotel has very good service by the staff at reception desk. Thanks Sotetsu Myeongdong. We enjoyed Seoul.

Great stay at Sotetsu!

The location was best especially because I was travelling with elderly so it was easy for them to go around as the hotel is right in myeongdong street. What I loved most of all is the service. On our last day, we couldn't go out because it was raining hard but they helped us had our food delivered from the restaurant. Also loved that they had free coffee in the lobby.

I booked a room with a double bed as a solo traveler The service was excellent, from front desk to housekeeping. If you are traveling with a suitcase larger than a carry-on this probably isn't the best place, since there is no storage space whatsoever, and clearance around the bed is not enough to open a full sized suitcase. Shower was also very tiny, but if you are a solo traveler then it could work for a couple of nights. I dont know how more than one person could stay in this room though! Location was excellent, in the middle of the main shopping street.

This hotel is pristine. It is a small room which is typical of Seoul hotels, however it has just about everything you need in the room. The hotel smelled so nice, I bought their diffuser to take home. More pros: It is at the center of Myeongdong, which Myeongdong is the center of Seoul. It is an easy location to get by almost anywhere. I booked the hotel last minute and price was still reasonable. Whenever I visit Seoul, I will stay again.

You cannot beat the location! Outside the door is blocks in every direction of pedestrian walkways full of food, shopping, everything! And transportation, and subway station is within 4-5 blocks. However, the moment you get in your room, you can't hear a thing! Total quiet, comfort and privacy! The only reason I rated staff a 3 out of 5, is because you dont really interact with staff. Upon check in, I got the sense that I should have electronically checked in, and I shouldn't need to interact with them, so I never did again.

明洞のど真ん中にあるのでレストランやお店には全く困らないですが、夜に窓を開けたら煩く屋台の匂いが部屋に充満します。閉めとけば大丈夫です。
駅からは遠くないですが、週末は人通りが多いのでスーツケースもって歩くのに苦労しました。
帰りは平日だったので比較的大丈夫でした。
近くに明洞餃子、香港飯店、Issacがあるのでよかったです。
部屋は広くはないですが全く不便せず、ピカピカで綺麗でした。スタッフさんも皆さんとても親切です。また是非宿泊したいホテルです。

I asked for an extra blanket and they said the hotel doesn’t have any! Very strange for a hotel not to have extra blankets. Does that mean they give new guest old blankets other guests have used?????

Cute little hotel!

The hotel is right in the middle of the Myeongdong shopping area, which makes it super convenient to shop and explore the night markets for some cheap, yummy eats! The downside of this though is that the streets are super crowded and it can be a pain when rolling your luggage through the crowds or just trying to get back to your hotel after a long day of exploring Seoul. The hotel overall is quite good. Clean, really kind and helpful staff, and they provide a lot of amenities (Pajamas, free coffee, bath salts, free use of their umbrellas, etc). The rooms are a bit small though and either the soap (which smelled way too strong) or the water really dried out my skin. (I stayed at other hotels in Seoul and Busan and didn't have this problem) I think for the price range, it's a great value though!

Great and convenient location, you step outside at night and Myeong Dong night stalls are just outside and a number of shops that are open both day and night. The under ground trains and buses are on the same street or nearby, easy to get to other tourist locations from here. There are people dressed in red during the day that can help tourist just outside, who are very helpful. Staff was also very helpful in providing instructions or offering suggestions when asked.
The room was small compared to what you’re used to in Australia, but we didn’t mind- it was clean and a great location and loved the complimentary pjs to wear at night.

It is in Myeongdong and actually on the night street. Very convenient and right opposite the Tourist information centre. It was a bit hard to find because there are retail shops in the same building. Their sign will show up bright on the top of the building. They provided breakfast but you have to go to 4 different retail places and not very good. No buffet breakfast. All individual orders. You will need to pay 1 to 2000 Won to try the Korean traditional breakfast. Staff are very helpful and courteous. The closest Myeongdong exit is #8 and you can see the hotel sign on top of the building at night. Ask the tourist information helpers wearing red uniform if you cannot find them. There is also a paid laundry on the lobby floor. Very safe. Room is not very big.

Great stay! Very close to MyeongDong Main Street and only about 5 min walk to a main metro. Overall great stay, just not much space for luggage’s to open up.

Smallest room ever. For 2 people, it was impossible to move. There was a smell of urine in my first room, so I requested a room change. I got the same room layout but on a lower floor. Then all I smelled was restaurant cooking. My kids room was 2 twin beds but it was stuck together because the room was also small, but at least you could get off the bed from both sides. With so many other hotels in this location, do not choose Sotetsu!

The property is right at the heart of Myeongdong shopping and nightlife. The staff is great, extremely friendly and helpful.
However, the room is tiny, can’t even fit 2 people in a hallway or restroom or anywhere. No space for luggage, even with 2 carry on.

The hotel door literally opens up in front of the street food market. And Myeongdong cathedral is a minute walk away.

Property is accessible to almost everything a traveller needs. Very close to bus and rail stations. My only complain is the size of the room. There was no closet space and the beds are about a foot from the opposite walls making it difficult to traverse from one end of the room to another. Especially with a luggage.

The hotel is well located, just above the shops and night market stalls. Taxis are available just around the corner.

The property and rooms are new and clean.

The breakfast isn’t available on the premises. Vouchers are provided on arrival which can be used at 4 places in the area. The western breakfast options were basic such as croissant/sandwiches.

We would definitely stay at the property again, but probably not opt for breakfast.

It is hard to find if you are not familiar with the area. I took a taxi from Seoul Station and the taxi driver had a very hard time finding it. The area is mostly pedestrian so you can't just pull up in front of it.
And, they were very inflexible. I booked for 5 days but needed to check out after 3 days and they would not refund me the other two nights.
