The property is located right in the hub of myeongdong shopping street. And if I understand correctly it's one of the closest accommodation myeongdong subway station and bus stand.
The rooms are decent with mentioned amenities. The staff at the reception are also really nice. Basically it's everything they have mentioned in best available value.

I stayed in a single room. Cleanliness was great. The space is tight but just the right size for a solo traveler who plans to be out and about for the most part of the day. I really appreciate how responsive they are and also appreciate that you can do laundry during your stay for a fee. Also, I appreciate the airport shuttles service they help coordinate. It certainly was helpful getting me to and from Incheon Airport with a tight schedule.

This hotel was perfect. The location is ideal if you would like to enjoy the night market or do some shopping. The location has so much within walking distance. We knew the rooms would be small, but it worked well for our family of four and our kids loved their spaces. The staff was really the best part. Both at check in and check out. The staff was phenomenal. They spoke wonderful english and were incredibly helpful. Our flight came in late, and they texted to make sure we knew how to check in if arriving late. They were great about letting us store our luggage as well the next day for our late flight home.

It was my second stay at this hostel and I purposely came back as I enjoyed my first stay. The location of the hostel is just great to discover Seoul. The rooms are quite modern though nothing has changed since I have been here 4 years ago. Rooms are though tiny and have no windows. The staff is kind. It doesnt really feel like a hostel though as you hardly see any other guests. So if you ate up for meeting new people this is not for you.

Enjoyable 3 day stay

Friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. One of the best locations in Seoul. Walking out the door into the heart of downtown. We never needed to take a cab. Enjoyable breakfast nook and easy access to wifi. Small and cozy rooms. Beds were a little hard. We would gladly book again.

Philstay Myeongdong Station is located very near the subway. It is also very easy to locate! I will rate convenience 5/5!

The bed is comfortable, bedsheets are clean. They provide shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Theres free wifi in the room and in the common eating area. There’s also filtered water (hot and cold) for all to drink at the common area.

The staff are generally friendly and helpful.

A big shoutout to Jeong who cooked delicious food and enjoys sharing it with the guests staying at Philstay! He also helped us with SAFEX service when we registered our luggages pretty late. Thank you Jeong for the excellent service!!

My friend and I will definitely come back to Philstay Myeongdong Station if we are gg back to Myeongdong!!

The location is excellent! Close to Limousine bus and train stations. You will never get hungry in this neighborhood. Lots of restaurants and food vendors. There are even 2 restaurants in the same building. Also, all the staff were friendly. The receptionist even gave each of us a face mask when we checked out.

We had a great 6 night stay here. Aiden, Host Moon, Lee, and the rest of the staff were all very welcoming, friendly and hospitable.
We arrived at the hotel early, and were allowed to leave our luggage in the foyer until time for check in. When we went back for check in, Aiden showed us to our room where he had already moved our luggage and continued to show us how to use the under floor heating in case we got cold.
Our stay was very pleasant aside from the fact that room walls are thin and we were woken by singing one morning from the neighbouring room at 5am. We had a family room with a window, which let in a draught making it a bit cold despite the floor heating. We requested an extra double duvet and were provided one promptly by housekeeping with no trouble - we were fine after that.
Breakfast was simple but enough, with offerings of bread, cereal, and pot noodles along with tea, coffee and juice.
It happened to be a member of our party's birthday and we wished to keep a birthday cake in the fridge until the next morning. Lee was very kind and he happily obliged.
When we offered both host Moon and Aiden a slice of birthday cake the next morning, host Moon unexpectedly and very generously gifted the birthday girl with a K-Pop album, making her very very happy!!
We recommend staying on the 5th floor if possible as it seems the 4th floor may be a bit noisier due to the common area.
Overall we would not hesitate to recommend Philstay Myeongdong station.

Great service, room cleanliness and convenient location! However the only downside is that the room was pretty tight for 2 people with 2 medium sized luggages. There was a hollow pillar in the middle of the room taking up a lot of space, such that when the luggages opened there wasnt much room to walk. Other than the space everything else was good.

Staffs are very nice and fluent in English, so there’s no problem to communicate. There’re laundry and wash dryer facilities, so it’s very convenient. Location is very convenient, near bus stop and subway station, easy to find foods as it’s located in myeongdong food street. I stayed in family room, there’s pillar in between bed and toilet makes the room narrow, hardly to walk around or open luggage. Room lightning is not bright enough.

Great place to stay in central location

Location: great location in the middle of Myeongdong. It is a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Step outside and you’re in the middle of it all. There is a yummy fried chicken and beer place in the same building.

Service: We arrived really early but since they had a room ready they let us check in which was much appreciated. They also speak English and were helpful.

Room: The room was clean and modern. It looks new. The rooms are small by American standards. It is the size of the 2 beds with enough room for 1 person to walk. So if one person is getting ready the other person would sit on the bed.

The shower is over the sink and handheld only so when I need to shampoo my hair I would have to put the shower head back on the holder and turn off the water, otherwise I get shower spraying on my face and not over my head.

The towels are not the size of bath towels but the size of gym towels.

No daily housekeeping, you just clean up after yourself.

Free breakfast is toast, yogurt cereal and instant ramen. This is perfect for us because we don’t normally eat breakfast anyways.

We came here knowing it’s a hostel B&B, not a hotel. The standards are a little different from western accommodations and I don’t hold them to western standards. If you need eggs bacon and toast for breakfast don’t come here cuz all you get is toast.

With this in mind and with our expectations in check I would recommend.

great staff who can speak english and readily provide information and suggestions on what to do. the breakfast is well done and the room secure although small for western standards, but very clean and bed is comfy. has fridge, a/c, tv basic toiletries and extra towels are readily available. excellent location just right outside the hustle and bustle of Myeong-Dong and within all stores, eats and services and just around the corner is the subway station. Biggest plus again is to the excellent staff - Jang, Aiden, Moon, Hyunsoo and they have both a washer and dryer on site ! would definitely stay there again.

Amazing Hostel in city center

The hotel was in the heart of Myeongdong’s beauty shops. Once you step out of the building, it is bustling from 8am to midnight. T Super convenient to all shopping, the subway, airport bus, Lotte department store and walkable to sights. Given the location, it was well worth the moey paid per night.

The facilities are clean, modern and more than satisfactory. The rooms are small but it is expected in Asia. They offer complimentary breakfast of toast, coffee, cereal and instant noodles, which was fine.

The staff were very accommodating as there was a minor issue with the booking and we had to switch rooms each night. But I’m glad that they were able to accommodate us since the hotel and location was amazing.

I will recommend this hostel to all my friends and definitely stay here again the next time I am in Seoul!!

Nice Hostel in the Heart of Myeongdong!

I had a few days stay at this Hostel, and I really liked it. The hostel is modern just like a Hotel, and its location is unbeatable, it is only 1-2 mins walk from the Myeongdong Train Station, located in the middle of the shopping district, banks, currency exchange, and at night the place is buzzling with night markets and gorgeous food! It is probably the easiest hostel to find!

The hostel has concierge, water tanks,common dining area, common laundry machine. The room is very modern and clean, you have your own lovely spacious bathroom with shampoo/body wash supplies, very comfy bed, hairdryer, fridge, TV with tons of channels. You can also key in your ideal room temperature in the room, and there is floor heating for the harsh winter! Every morning I believe there is breakfast at the shared eating area, but I always miss it! You will also see sometimes the staff will be cooking food at the kitchen for their own lunch, nice experience!

One advice though, if you're travelling as a couple/have 2 or more big suitcases, go for the twin beds as there will be more floor space. There is a common laundry machine but no dryer so bring some hangers to hang clothes for drying (especially in winter where clothes dry slower). They do provide a clothes hanging rack you could borrow (the bathroom is really spacious to put the clothes rack) and a few hangers on the door in the room. Otherwise in this busy district I'm sure there are laundrettes around.

I really enjoyed staying here!

Good choice for convenience and budget

This place is located right at busy tourist district. Even with artic chill, saw many tourists in the area. For the price, this place can't be beat. The owner was exceptially nice. If you wanna stay in downtown Seoul, this is the place. This place is within walking distance of many Seoul attractions. Very easy to get to from Incheon airport. Airport limousine bus stop is only two minutes walk. But if you can't stay in a tight space, pay more and go someplace else.

We stayed in a family room with bunk bed. Space is quite tight and it may be a problem if you have 3 or more pieces of luggage. There is no separate shower and dry area, so you need to dry yourself and wear your clothes in the same space. Otherwise is a good stay, in a super good location with shopping, cinema and train right at your doorstep. Wifi is good and room design is modern.

We got there just over an overnight from Soeraksan on our way back to Ulsan. Got there after 11pm. The key waited for us on the desk - no problem. Other tenants also arrived late but without announcing. The guy on duty woke up, did not complain, helped them. Got up early in the morning, the staff was already there and were very nice. Myongdong is also a got area, very close to Seoul station and Namdeamon.

The only negative is that there's very little space for our big luggage but there was space under the beds for cabin luggage.

Service Cleaning should be fast!

I arrived in Incheon 4:50am last September 2. Since I'm aware that the check in is 3:00pm I went to Starbucks in Flamille Park, after coffee I traveled to Myeongdong and wnet straight to Philstay Myeogdong Station - Hostel hoping that the room where I will be staying is already available. I was advised by the weekend manager that it is still not available. He asked me to roam around Myeongdong first and just return at 3:00pm.

I went back at 2:00pm and I told the manager that I'm already tired and sleepy so I'll just stay in their kitchen/dining hall. I was told that the room that I will be staying is the last room to be cleaned.

Finally at 3:20pm (not 3:00pm) the manager came to me and said that the room is ok for occupancy. By this time I'm already sleeping with my head in the table.

I was there for more than a week so I was able to get familiar with all the staff there. All of them are incredibly kind and communicate excellent English and some of them know various language like Spanish. They will help you with anything from directions to a supermarket and recommendations for the best food. They make an effort to welcome everyone, particularly during breakfast. They also occasionally have dinners where you can go eat out with the staff. Everything was extremely clean. It was my first experience in a hostel and they made it amazing! 100% recommended !

Nice clean hidden little gem

Excellent hidden little gem in the middle of Myeong dong shopping walking street area. Easy to access with airport bus stopping just a 5 minute walk away.

Friendly staff especially the young woman in the reception. Helping us getting settled not just in the room but also taking her time to recommend good coffee and food places.

We had a bunk bed room with private toilet and shower. Everything tiny but acceptable. Hot water and pressure excellent. Aircon easy to adjust. We slept very well.

No view from our room but it didn’t really matter as we left early and arrived after dark anyhow.
Nice and clean. No complaints.
Small rooftop bar/cafe in same building and a mainstream large coffee shop with some sandwiches on the ground floor.

Plenty of food and shopping in the area.

過去に明洞界隈で他のフィルステイと名のつく宿にも色々滞在しましたが、立地はナンバーワンの便利さです。明洞駅から坂を下る最初の角を右折して直ぐ。斜向かいにコーヒービーンズもあり屋台に行くにも周辺で買い物するにも行き帰りしやすい。2件隣に前回明洞に来た時は無かったコンバースが出来ており、近所の従来からの店舗ほど日本人がウロチョロしておらず買い物しやすいです。部屋は案内してくれたレセプションの女性が言った通りかなり狭いのですが何故かバスルームが部屋と同じくらい広いという謎の作り。エアコンはよく効きますし床暖房あり、冷蔵庫もありで、使わなかったがランドリーも使えるようなので夏場や長期の滞在には良いと思う。ただ夜9時以降はフロント係が不在なのにカードキー等無しでも各フロアに入って来れるのでセキュリティが心配なのと、外出時にキーを抜くと電源が全て落ちる事、テレビの音が小さ過ぎてほとんど音が聞こえないのはマイナスですね。

Amazing location

The location of this hostel was amazing. It was right in the middle of Myeongdong close to the subway station and all the stores.

立地がとても良かったです。そして、ホストの方も感じが良く、２泊でしたが、お世話になりました^_^4人部屋は狭かったですが、ギリギリに決まったホテルだったので仕方ないです。ウォーターサーバーのホットはお湯が出ます。

立地、スタッフのコスパ最高です。
スタッフさんにマッサージの予約変更をお願いしたら日本語あまり分からないのに一所懸命対応してくれてすごーく助かりました。
リピの予定ですが部屋が狭い‥
そこがクリアできるならありです。

適合行李不多的旅客，房間不大，但是乾淨舒適，這次住了5天4夜，一直到要退房的那天才有遇到會說中文的員工，但每個員工都很熱心，英文溝通都不是問題，還可以幫忙叫外賣跟協助訂機場接送

성인가족은 창문있는 패밀리룸 맨끝방. 넘넘좁고 진짜 비추천입니다.방도 넘좁고 침대는 거의 붙어있다시피,상체누이는 쪽에 튀어나온 기둥에 남편 새벽에 일어나다 모서리에 머리부딪혀 지금도 혹났다고 아프다고.침대옆에 커다란기둥이있어 화장실갈때 몸을 가로로 벽에 밀착해서들어가야하고 창문이있는게 좋다고 선심베푸는거처럼 말씀하시더니 창문에서 황소바람에 위풍은 얼마나 센지ㅜㅜ..머리를 반대로 놓고 잘정도였어요.바닥만 난방되고 위는 하나도 난방안되서 이불을 목까지 덮고도 춥다고...참 호텔스닷컴서 호텔이랑 게스트 수없이 해봤는데 이렇게 불평남기기는 난생첨이에요..우리나라 날씨 요즘 얼마나 따뜻한데 추워서 잠못잘정도 였으니..진짜 한겨울에오면 추워서 못잡니다..다신 오고싶지않아요
머리부딪친 남편 머리에 혹나서 지금도 아프다고 엄청뭐라합니다

駅、街への近さに大満足でした。

今回は娘との2人の２泊３日の弾丸旅行だったので、泊まれればいいと思い駅への近さと街への近さ重視で選びました。
スタッフの方の対応もよく、日本人のチェックインには日本語のできるお兄さんがとても親切に対応してくれました。
お風呂はトイレと一緒のシャワー式でしたが、熱さ水圧共に問題なく、換気もバッチリでした。ただ！タオルが１人１枚なので多少不便でした。
後は満足でした。

立地は、明洞駅からすぐで超便利です。
部屋は狭いですが、全体的に清潔感があり、セキュリティもしっかりしており、夜中に騒がしいといったこともありませんでした。ベッドは硬かったです。。
スタッフの方は感じが良く、価格もリーズナブルなので、また機会があれば利用したいです！

たのしかった！お兄さんが面白くて入った時からよかった！日本語話せませんってゆったのにちょっとはしゃべれてるし、英語で話すことや韓国語で多少会話ができて自分達も旅行の楽しさや言語の勉強ができてうれしい

2回目の利用です。
殆ど寝るだけですので、明洞駅から近いし、フロントスタッフの方も日本語上手だしとても良いホテルです。多国籍の方々が宿泊しているので朝食の時間帯は少しザワザワしていますが私は全く気になりません。次回も1人渡韓の時は利用したいです。

房間真的很小，家庭房有兩種上下舖的格局，有一種很像膠囊房間的格局冷氣吹不進去，後來住了兩天就幫我們換了照片上的那種上下舖格局，但是房間格局真的小到行李真的無法打開整理～但是地理位置真的很好～整體還不錯！

Calm and quiet place right in the heart of Seoul!

Very nice play to stay. The location is absolutely perfect, and despite the street below being very lively, there is no noise in the rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast exceeded expectations. The only minus was that there was a smell (from the drains?) in the bathroom, but this wasn't really a problem. Having the AC on took care of it, and because of the temperature we kept the AC on whenever we were in the room.

Would recommend people stay here!

직원들이 아주 친절했고 숙소도 깨끗했어요. 그리고 명동역 6번 출구에서 걸으면 진짜 2분 도착할 수가 있어요!
다음에 또 여기서 살 고 싶어요!! 아주 추천해요!
離明洞站6號出口走路真的兩分鐘可以到，晚上也很安靜，房間也乾淨，非常推薦！會想再去住！

전반적으로 괜찮았습니다.위치자체가 명동이라 지하철역에서 가깝고 주변에 상점들 많고...침구나 객실청소상태는 좋았습니다.
다만 가격이 다소 높은듯하고 복도와 옆방소음이 심했습니다

明洞駅から徒歩で3分ほどととても近く、立地は最高でした！！ホテルはビルの4階ワンフロアだけで1階入り口にはホテルの看板は無いのでちょっと分かりづらいですが、エチュードハウスの隣が入り口でした。チェックイン時にルームキーの保証金で10000ウォンを渡し、チェックアウト時に返金されます！担当してくださった方は日本語が出来る方で説明もわかりやすかったです☺︎お部屋の広さは大きめのキャリーを開くのは厳しい広さで、ベット端の天井にほこり？のような物がありました（ ; ; ）それ以外は特にお部屋は綺麗でした！またユニットバスはシャワーのみでトイレとの間にシャワーカーテンはないです！夜にシャワーを浴びて次の日の朝にはすっかり乾いていたので特には気にならなかったです！！朝ごはんにはシリアル、食パン、カップラーメンがありました！ウォーターサーバーがあり常に利用可能でした。とにかくスタッフさんの対応が良く、明洞の中でも立地が良いと思います☺︎
