Overall, the hotel was great. The only issue was a slight sewer smell coming from the toilet, but simply closing the bathroom door solved the problem, so it wasn’t a major concern.

The heating was excellent during the winter. There was one night when it didn’t seem to be working properly, but the staff quickly provided an external heater, which I really appreciated.

The WiFi was generally very good. I did experience an issue one night during a Zoom call, but I was able to use the connection in the common area. The staff also helped resolve the issue in my room afterward, so everything turned out fine.

The staff were very nice and friendly throughout my stay. I would definitely come back to this hotel when I return. I had previously stayed at another hotel, but I decided to try this one instead, and I really enjoyed myself. It was a great choice, and I will happily stay here again the next time I’m in Seoul.

Staff were all friendly and very helpful. Secure and safe building. Great location, easy to get to and from all the great sights in Seoul. Busy popular and cool shopping street. Perfect home base for our stay. We stayed in 815, room was just the right size for what we needed, clean and quiet.

This is my 5th time staying here (in 3 trips to Seoul) and I'd stay here again! 3 minute walk from Myeongdong station (and bus 6001 & 6015 if you plan on taking bus to Inchon airport), several steps from Myeongdong street, excellent location! Staff (and owner) are professional & very helpful. Rooms are standard for this area (which is small for us). Compare to my 1st time staying here 5 years ago, the property is getting older, but it's still very well kept and clean. Definitely would stay here again next time we're in Seoul!

-This property is just on one floor but its pretty quiet despite it being right on myeondong.
-The building entrance is on the left side ( we got confused and went straight and went to the right side of the building ). There's a concierge at the entrance of actual hotel building.
-The hotel check in was pretty good too. Front desk speaks fluent English.
- Take away is that wifi only works for one device. Wifi isn't great so make sure you have data.
-Lastly, it is true that rooms are cramped. It's not great for people planning to overly shop and keep opening their luggages. Tip: Pack it up before the last day and have everything you think you want.

The check-in was quick and the guy explained it quiet clear. The room and bed are comfortable. The bathroon is small but understandable as it is a guess house so i didnt bothered much. Location is perfect eady yo get around in buzzing myeondong. The most important its only few steps to get to incheon airport bus stop. So love it my staying there. Definitely will return

The location of this guest house is superb – easy to find, near to the subway and within walking distance from everything. The bespectacled security guard at the building entrance was also very polite.

Although the room is not spacious, it was larger than the one at Step Inn Myeongdong, a similarly budget-style hostel I previously stayed. The room here is equipped with some amenities like smart TV, hair dryer, etc. However, there were only two electrical sockets in the whole room. Shampoo and shower gel were of a good quality but the water temperature tends to fluctuate almost every time we take a bath. The provided towels are also very small.

Sound insulation wasn’t great and staying in one of the middle rooms get a tad noisy. Ventilation was minimal unless you get a room with a window. AC remote wasn’t provided in the room due to the cool weather in March - we were only told we need to ask for it upon inquiring. Oh, and it’s 10K won for an extra pillow if you need one.

The staff speaks excellent English and were helpful in answering all our queries, although the rules here are pretty strict – no smoking and no using of common area facilities after 10pm. Non-smokers like me will delight in the former, but the latter is a deal breaker for me and my gf. It’s a chore to eat in a small, poorly ventilated room with barely a table and only one chair.

Review on Sunshine Myeongdong

Positive:
1) Leo attended to us upon checking in, explained the house rules and answered our questions patiently. Most important, he greeted us with a sunshine smile. Excellent service!
2) There are stove, microwave and coffee machine in the general area and can cook your own food. Water dispenser on the 7th and 8th floor. Washing machine is available but restricted to certain hours.
3) Tim Ho Wan in the same building.

Negative:
1) Bed was slant and not comfortable to sleep.
2 ) Shower temperature not consistent and had to adjust throughout my shower. Shower holder was not placed at the correct condition nor does it have any rotating position feature..
3) New Toilet paper was not placed at the main area on the remaining days of our stay. Left only remaining ones left from other rooms.
4) Housekeeping service every 3 days and guest has to request for it.
5) We booked a room with windows but the blind is spoilt.
Guests wiil have to DIY.

$90 per night. If you do not mind all these, then the location is a plus point with subway just a 5 mins walk and there are plenty of shops, restaurants and street food nearby the guesthouse.

First and foremost - the location. Centrally located in the Myeongdong shopping area. The rooms are always clean. The family room has 2 double beds which gives you a lot of extra space. This is the 4th time we've stay here and will continue to come back and refer our friends.

Location awesome..the room is small....which did not bother me. What bothered me was I was unable to change the room temperture (the bathroom is extremely cold), you can hear everything from next door, they only give you one small towel, and the sewer smell is bad. The free breakfast is total crap and crowded....I didnt touch anything.

Dear San Franciscan, When you get to ICN, take bus 6001, then get drop at Myeongdong. Follow the email direction to check in. Very easy to follow. Check in is easy, room is clean, but wierd shower set up. I think it is safe to say, its Korean style! Room doesn’t have good ventilation so there’s always a musty old smell, from previous guests I mean. Bed is hard, im fine with it. Noise yeah, its a guesthouse so its kinda lively but not disturbing. The funny part abt the room is the electric plug, it can take forever to charge big power bank. Be patient!

Great basic decent guesthouse with great location!

We had a pleasant experience staying in this hostel. Its near the airport bus drop off (altho we got lost initially) The location is perfect. There are a lot of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. I booked 2 triple rooms for 6adult pax. The room is okay for us. we can open 3 luggages at 1 time.. not too cramp compared to the other hostels we stayed before. THERE IS NO CLEANING SERVICE (throw your own trash)and towels are hand towel size not bath towel size. This is a hostel/guesthouse not a hotel. Its a decent hostel. The best part the room we had has windows (with safety locks). We stayed this March and it was cold. We just open the window to feel the cold breeze. The bathroom is clean. The breakfast is basic- bread, cereals, korean noodles and eggs (cook your own). I will definitely recommend this guesthouse and will definitely stay again.

The location of the guesthouse is good, near Myeongdong shopping street and very near to airport limousine bus stop.

However, water draining in the bathroom is slow and water pooling just after shower and it took some times to drain out. Soundproof of the room is not good, sound from the next door conversation and even snoring could be heard.

Great Location Guesthouse!

Friendly and clean Guesthouse. Supert Location! close to Myeongdong Subway exit 8 and airport bus! Stay at this area will guarantee u that for sure you can board the airport bus express because I think this is the 1st stop.

Some negative about this Guesthouse is that the room is small (but its ok for us since we always came back late), Hot water in some room is not consistent and the bed is hard :(

Last but not least, make sure you learn a few egg recipe because you have to cook your own breakfast! lol

Overall, I am happy with my stay in this guesthouse. The only complaint is the walls are too thin. The guests next door came back in the wee hours of the morning. As my bed was pushed right to the wall, I could hear their voices. This disturbed my sleep as I am a very light sleeper.

The room was small, with no outside window. There was a permanent light coming from the corridor and inside the room there is also a little light so the room was never completely dark. The walls are paper thin so depending on the other guests, it can be noisy at night. We stayed twice in this hotel and for our second stay, the bed was making a lot of noice everytime we were moving... However, the staff is really friendly and the breakfast is good. Free coffee and hot/cold water 24/7. The location is ideal, super close of a metro station and right in Myeongdong, you can walk to a lot of places easily from there and the room is not super expensive.

The best point of this guest house is the location. it's just 1-2 min to reach from the Myeongdong station exit 9. And just out of the guest house there's 7-11, two marts, famous restaurant and shopping area. Room is quite comfy although the bed is a bit noisy. I hope there's a light at the dressing table too. Breakfast is simple but it's always too packed around 9+am. They can only clean our room every 3 days, but we have to make a request after 3 days. Receptionist please tell all the guests about this as after 4 days then we asked and realised it.

Great location, more flexibility preferred

Pros:
Great location, its right at meyongdong shopping streets with access to food and shopping. Filtered water machine provided. En suite bathrooms as well. Rubbish bags, facial towels, tissue and toilet papers are available all day at self service. Staff can help to order delivery however only up to 11pm.

Cons:
Breakfast is provided but it’s very very basic; self service, be prepared to self cook and wash up after cooking and eating. We only took breakfast for a day out of the many days of stay.

They strictly clear breakfast at 10am sharp, I felt really bad to see a guest arrive at 10.15 requesting for breakfast but was readily turned down. Felt that they could have at least offered him some bread to make a simple toast himself as it shouldn’t require much effort retrieving from the fridge or cost much.

It’s relatively affordable for its location however do note that there is no daily housekeeping. It is only available once throughout your entire stay before 11am. They are extremely strict about 11am cutoff for everyone to leave the room otherwise they will reject your request. Definitely felt that there could be more flexibility there.

Very clean hotel, have elevator and comfort room with ensuite bathroom. Kitchen also is in good condition.

They have airport transfer services which is done by 3rd party company. We asked them to book it for our trip to Incheon airport since our flight is early in the morning and they managed it for us.

Actually, prior to arrive at Incheon airport, we asked the guesthouse for a trip from Incheon airport to the guesthouse too but unfortunately, they replied to us via email that they didn't provide the service which is not true. Anyhow, there is a lot of airport transfer services or public transport at Seoul. So, that is not a problem for us.

The guesthouse is near the subway, it takes about 3minutes to get there from exit 9. And the location is really good for shopping in Myeondong as it is located at the back of the shopping road. Also, there is a convienent store across the guesthouse and numbers of restaurants around the guesthouse, easy to get all what you want! The room is clean and tidy with nice smelling, and the ac is strong which makes me and my friend want to stay for longer... One more thing which is really impressed me a lot is the staff service, Allen(reception staff) was really helpful! As he helped us to call the delivery of fired chicken and explained the facilities patiently!! In summary, excellent experience!

房間裡有很多小蒼蠅，但不叮人那種。
窗戶已關，空調沒有開，房間我沒有聞到臭味，哪裡那麼多小蒼蠅，應覺好不舒服。
不會有人每天給你收拾房間，垃圾滿要自己倒。
很容易聽到隔壁房的聲音。
飯店在明洞購買街旁邊而已。

地點很好樓下保安員也很好幾個旅店員工裏有一個較胖的戴眼鏡的態度很不好我晚上10點不到下去想多拿一個枕頭（有牌子寫了11點才下班）我等了半小時按鈴也沒人最後10：30他才從升降機出來！我問他能否多拿一個枕頭他一句話都沒說轉身走到後面一點的房間套了一個枕頭出來然後馬上問我房號要記錄欠旅店1萬韓元（先不說拿枕頭要附加費起碼去拿之前要通知一下要收錢不是嗎？？）
然後熱水非常不穩定水變冷了開熱一點突然又變好熱住了4天都是這樣洗澡跟馬桶太近馬桶都濕了有點麻煩去水口在洗澡那邊的正中地上沒穿他給的拖鞋踩上去很不舒服另外天花板的冷氣有一個藍色的燈晚上關了房間燈後那個藍光非常亮有點影響睡覺最後我用紙折了一下粘在上面才好一點

中国人旅行者が多い、朝食を作って食べているので、匂いがキツイ。ぶつかっても挨拶も無し。国民性なのか。全体的に暖房が強く暑かった。
シャワーの水量が弱くて結局1日しか使用せず、チムジルバンスパやサウナへ行った。宿泊費は安いがスパやサウナを利用したことを含めると、そんなにコスパはよくないかも。夏場は、シャワーで十分対応可能。スタッフは男女感じよかったです。

実際は　窓すらないビルの中側の部屋…
しかも　セントラルヒーティングで部屋の温度が変えられなく暑い！
窓がないから日差しも無く時間感覚がわからない。
トイレの水が止まらない。
シャワーのお湯が少ない。
部屋が乾燥してるが換気もできない。
ハエが部屋に居たが窓がないから外に出ない…

いつもより少しお高めの良いゲスハにするつもりでしたので残念です。
スタッフさんにその事を伝えましたが、ノーショウでもシティービューでもセームプライス
しか言われなく…

Tiny room in a good location

Tiny room which looks quite different from the photos shown online, but bed is comfy, however I found some makeup stains on the bed...

清潔感がねぇ………。

スタッフの対応はすごく良いです。日本語も一生懸命話してくれます。場所を優先して選んだので、場所は最高です。トイレとシャワーが同じところでしたが、比較的広かったのでトイレは濡れずに済んでよかったです。ただロビー兼食堂にいつも中国人がたむろっていて、エレベーターを降りると一斉に見られて、独特な雰囲気だったのとバスタオルではなくタオルしかなかったこと。そしてそのタオルが本当に使うのをためらうほどに黒ずんでいて、清潔感を重視する人にはかなり無理があると思います。あと、バスマットも面白いほどに黒かびだらけでした(笑)滞在中タオルは自分で収集場所に持っていって、新しいタオルを自分で持っていくシステムでした。ゴミも自分で収集場所に持っていって捨てるシステムです。まぁ場所は最高でコスパも良いので、清潔感の無さに目がつぶれる方なら大丈夫だと思います。私は2度目は無いと思います。

추천은 못하겠어요

위치는 정말 좋았어요.
룸도 뭐 그럭저럭 괜찮아요.
그러나 화장실 실내화가 뜯겨 신을 수가 없었고, 화장실도 참 작았어요.
외국인이 90프로.
방음은 하나도 안되었어요.
말소리가 다 들리고 10시 넘어서 애들이 뛰어다니고 소리질러도 아무도 제지하지 않더라구요.
조식 먹을때 후라이팬은 다 까져있고 토스트기는 녹슬어있었어요.
식빵은 냉장고에 넣었다가 꺼내서인지 차가웠구요.
두번은 안갈래요.
