The room was tiny to the point of being impractical, and the bathroom was in terrible condition — mould everywhere and a constantly wet floor that felt dirty and unsafe. I stayed 3 nights, left briefly, then returned for another 4 nights, and was still charged a luggage storage fee in between, which felt petty and unreasonable. Poor hygiene, cramped rooms, Would not recommend to stay.

The room was decent. We booked for the bunk style bedding so the kids could enjoy their own space. But the room is super small and the bathroom is tiny. There is no counter space, sink smaller than a medium watermelon and rust stains and water stains all around. The towels had a strong bleach smell which is good to know that its clean but so strong that its nauseating. There is a water machine in the hallway, the hot water side was broken for about a day. We did laundry, the washers are good but the dryers were broken. Front desk gave us to solution of walking 7 mins to their sister location to use their dryers. Service is wonderful, location is great, but the rooms and amenities need upgrading.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Travelodge Myeongdong Namsan, and I would like to share my feedback.

The hotel’s location is exceptional — approximately a 7–8 minute walk to Myeongdong, with a 24-hour convenience store located just steps from the lobby. This level of accessibility was extremely convenient for my family throughout our stay.

I was very satisfied with the overall cleanliness of the property. The room was well-maintained, and the bathtub was spacious enough for my two children (10 and 7 years old) to enjoy comfortably every evening, which was a highlight for them.

Your team deserves recognition for their professionalism. The staff were consistently friendly, approachable, and helpful, contributing greatly to our positive experience.

While the room was clean and functional, it was relatively compact, making it challenging to open four large (26–28 inch) suitcases simultaneously. Nevertheless, given the room rate and the quality of service provided, the stay offered excellent value.

Overall, we had a truly pleasant experience, and I would gladly choose Travelodge Myeongdong Namsan again on a future visit.

We stayed here one night after our week long stay at a different hotel. The staff was nice, the room was a good size for the area and price. The bathroom is small and lack extra toiletries (although body wash and shampoo was provided). The hotel is located between two metro station and is about 15 min walk to the Myeong Dong main area. (Which can make a huge difference when you are carrying bags and bags from your shopping lol)

I'll never stay at Travelodge again

I was charged $511 for 3 nights. Got a tiny room with no maid service and no amenities. Intermittent wifi. Drunk people screaming and laughing in the hall until 2am. Walls paper thin and heard everything going on in the next room. Breakfast buffet opened at 7am with all the food and coffee already cold at 7am. Awful experience.

Extremely small room, pillar right in the middle taking up space. Never had the room cleaned even once through the 4 days there. Had a sewage smell the first night, spoke to reception and got it fixed. Noisy taps and could hear toilet being flushed from rooms above at night, so not very quiet. Area convenient to subway, 3 metro station nearby, plus numerous cafes and restaurants.

We stayed in the the family suite for 4. The suite layout was good with double bunk loft, however bathroom layout was one of the worst I have ever. Very difficult to get in and out of the bathroom due to toilet and swinging door so close.....dangerous! If Korea had any building codes, this would be a violation! They should have modeled their bathroom from a cruise ship or got rid of the tub and installed a shower. Never will I stay here or recommend to anyone.

명동을 관광하기에 위치가 명동역과 멀지 않아 좋았습니다. 침대도 높지 않고 어린이들과 함께 머무르기에도 괜찮았어요. 직원들도 친절하고 좋았습니다. 다만 침실에 머무를 수 있는 인원에 비해 욕실이 좀 작았고, 작은 욕실을 효율적으로 활용하지 못한 느낌이에요. 돌출형 욕조나 비데가 달린 변기가 다 욕실 사이즈에 비해 과한 느낌입니다. 비데가 달린 변기가 문을 향해 있는데 문이 안으로만 열리고 왼편엔 세면대가 있어서 드나들기가 많이 불편했어요. 두 대의 엘리베이터가 효율적으로 움직이지 않는 시스템도 개선이 필요해 보였습니다. 그런 점이 개선된다면 별 다섯개를 줄 수 있을것 같아요.

This hotel will keep your luggage for you for later pick up on the day you check out so you can use your last few hours in Seoul to tour around if your flight is later in the day. They were also willing to arrange a taxi for me to get to Seoul station on my last day. This location is close to many major attractions and there is a convenience store next door to get drinks and snacks or to top off your T-money card before setting out for the day.

While we booked knowing the hotel room was going to be small, we were given an even smaller room where the stairs was tucked at the back - with difficulty to get upstairs without hitting the head. The upstairs floor had minimal air flow making the area hot. The AC couldn't cool down the room at all. Every shower in the bathroom results in a soaking floor.

Need to work on cleanliness

We stayed for 8 nights. The lobby was cosy and staffs were friendly and got us checked in early (arrived at about 12pm) without waiting till 2pm. When we went in the room, everything looks acceptable except for the toilet. I don't get it why they need to put a bathtub inside when the toilet was already so small.
If take a look closer, there're a layer of dust on the bathtub and on the toilet.
The cleanup and tidying up the room will only took place every 3 days &/ 4 days.
On the 1st clean up, when we went back to our room end of the day, we saw the towels were placed on top of the toilet, not on the cover. We were speechless and then we saw small insects started crawling out from the toilet. The drainage in the bathtub was not cleaned up causing the water unable to flow. We have to clean up the hair in it by ourselves.
We notified the front desk and they gradually accepted everything we feedback and did cleaning again on that day (supposed to be tidy up but they clean again).
The small insects did not appear again that day till the day we checked out.

The bathroom design was terrible. The tub has a shower setup that causes water to spill onto the floor during use, leaving the floor soaked after every shower. We had to use towels to dry it up each time. Additionally, the air conditioner is installed directly above the bed, so it blows cold air right onto you. If you turn it off, the room becomes uncomfortably hot. Also, they don’t change the bed sheets until after three days. For $100 or more it’s not worth the price at all.

I was disappointed at the general maintenance and cleanliness of the place. I was there for two weeks and saw fingerprint smudges all over glass doors at the entrance, elevators, etc.

I went down for breakfast twice only because the second trip down for breakfast the people cooking the food handled the cash without changing their gloves and one of them (looked to be the head cook as he was instructing other cooks and same person who handled to cash) had a wound in his forearm that was barely covered by an old bandaid. I was grossed out at how he went from slicing oranges to taking the cash from me and right back to slicing oranges that he then adding to the container he brought out to the buffet table. I couldn’t eat there again after that.

The bathrooms smell incredibly bad (we switched rooms/floors and it was the same problem which I believe to be from the drain and/or mold buildup around the corners of the bathroom). Because the curtains don’t prevent the water from getting to the floor, we were forced to use the majority of our towels on the floor (as did most of the guests because they left the wet towels outside their doors just as we did) and while I understand and am familiar with korean bathrooms and the use of the floor drain, it didn’t work that well in draining out the excess water. Towels were changed frequently but room was not tidied up per schedule. The women at the front desk were rude with the exception of Anida (???) she was 10/10!

the location of the property was great, it was only a 10 minute walk away from Myeongdong. The only issue with our room was the washroom. It is very small, and the sink would not drain quickly. The tub would also leak water after we shower. Otherwise the facility was clean and the staff was accommodating when we had any issues.

I have stayed at this location twice. If you’re traveling with two people, for anything longer than 2 to 3 days,upgrade to a bigger room. You will need the space. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel gets super busy. That can mean that you will need to wait for an elevator at times. The key thing about this hotel is the location. You are just far enough away from Myeongdong/Euljiro central that you don’t have the incessant honking noise or music at night. But, you are withing walking distance to Chungmuro Station (less than 3 blocks), Myeongdong station (about .5 km) and Euljiro 2 & 3 (about .5 km). If you’re up for walking, and I’m just talking a couple kilometers, you’re also within walking distance of Cheonggycheon Stream, Insadong Culture Street, Green Lung Plaza, one of the palace gates and the MMCA. Samcheong-dong and Bukchon Hanok Village is about another km beyond that. That’s a couple kilometers in one direction and worth the walk. And the other direction, you’re right by one of the Hanok Villages (right across the street from Chungmuro station) and Dongkuk. Then there’s all of Namsan Park. Don’t be sleeping on Namsan. If it’s not summer, I highly recommend the 12 km walk up. I’m a hiker though. The walk up is a beautiful paved road and there’s so many sites and interesting little parks and monuments to see on the way. You can always take the cable car back down, or the bus.

The hotel is in a good location slightly away from the main hustle and bustle from Myeongdong. The rooms are small (and the bathroom is especially tiny) but has most of what you need - bed, desk, TV, room safe, fridge. What's missing is cupboard and closets. The beds are very comfortable. Close enough to Myeongdong without the congestion and hustle. Lots of restaurants to the east that seemed popular with locals. Although close to Chungmuro station, most of our navigation routes did not ask us to use that station so had to walk a few extra minutes. Chungmuro station has an elevator at exit 7 which is closer end to the hotel. Bathroom is small and the door opens inwards such that you need to straddle the toilet to close so I do not recommend for those who cannot do this.

The staff were helpful and friendly which was a big positive! There were also filtered water machines on each floor.

The room was small, especially the bathroom which was very small! The room wasn’t as clean as I’d like, I found hairs (not mine) upon arrival and it was a bit tired, although acceptable. At times there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors of the hotel.
