Room was really small for 4pax, and you have to ask them for towels etc… not like in any other hotel automatically if you check in more than 2 nights at least change the towels and tidy up the room, poor service. Even the lady at the front desk it seems like she always irritated when you ask her something no premier customer service at all. But the other guy name Sean kinda helpful. Air conditioning and heater works well except in our last night they disabled our AC unit. Breakfast was good at least they have bake eggs. Overall if you are looking for a convenient place this one is good,a little pricey but good area to explore Myeongdong.

Excellent location near the heart of Myeong-dong and close to multiple public transportation options. We would give Ehwa six stars for generously storing our extra luggage bags at the hotel while we went to Jeju Island for two days in the middle of our trip. Manager Dae was super communicative with us while we were away and kindly arranged a late check-in for us for when we returned to Seoul. The management and staff will give you the best hospitality here!

In walking distance to many restaurants, shops and subway stations.
Room was practical and room+property was clean. My room was on the 4th floor and quiet (no noise neighbors) and minimal street noise (occasional siren but to be expected in a city)
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Very much appreciated the water dispenser in the hallway to fill my bottle before heading out each day.

Bathroom was compact but fine for myself as a solo traveler.

Our room is small in my opinion, but the room and the facility is clean. Some traffic noise as the hotel is next to a main avenue. After hours self check-in is easy and straightforward.

The hotel is very close to Myeongdong street market, shopping, restaurants, transportation system bus/subway, etc. The family unit on the 8th floor is very spacious and clean. It has 4 beds and 2 separate AC units. There are nice bakeries close by.
FYI, it's difficult for uber/taxi to get to front of hotel.
We enjoyed our stay very much.

This Hotel is more like an Inn, not a hotel.
Room is very basic, no drawers only a small open closet. The bathroom is very small, the shower area shares with lavatory.
We arrived in the hotel pass 11pm because our flight was delayed and it was already closed, I panicked where me and my family going to spend the night but luckily we figure out the door code and my key was left on the table. Being said this, the hotel most of the time has no person at the front desk, so you cannot leave your luggages if you want to spend the day when you check out early and have an evening flight because no one is going to look after it. Don't be fooled by \" Free Breakfast\" because they served only boiled egg and bread everyday. I took this hotel because I booked last minute and the overall review was Wonderful, I don't know how this hotel got a wonderful review. So many much better hotel around Myeondong and stay away from this hotel. The location is better though.

All is good, except the room is too small n no wardrobe n space to hang yr clothes. Location wise is excellent, walking distance to 7/11, shopping area, subway, bus stops, n accessible to everywhere.

To improve further, I can suggest to have a self laundry service.

Anyway, I will recommend this hotel to travellers out there.

Negatives:
* Towel Policy: We were warned that makeup stains on towels would result in a fine. This policy felt unfair and stressful, especially since makeup use isn’t limited to women and even thorough cleansing can leave faint traces. White towels only exacerbate this issue.
* Staff Presence: The hotel staff was rarely available. We encountered just three employees during our stay, and they were not approachable. Upon arrival, the front desk was empty due to the “cleaning period” (11:00 AM - 3:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM). A phone number was provided for emergencies, but as tourists, we couldn’t make local calls.
* No Elevator to the 8th Floor: We stayed in a VIP room on the 8th floor, but there was no elevator access—a major inconvenience given the size of the room, which could accommodate up to eight people. Carrying heavy luggage up narrow, winding stairs without assistance was exhausting.
* Bathroom Issues: The shower and toilet were combined in a cramped space, with yellow-stained grout.
* Dirty Walls: The walls were visibly stained, which detracted from the room's overall appearance.
* Hazardous Room Design: The room appeared to be a converted attic, with low, drywall-covered beams that posed a tripping

RUN AWAY if you can, this place is terrible, terrible, they don't clean your room even if you ask and request it, they are passive aggressive and they say yes to everything but NOTHING GETS DONE. There is almost nobody at the front desk ever, therefore is almost impossible to get help or orientation to navigate Seoul.
The room is terrible with the WORST SEWER odor all over your room that at a times it feels sofocating AND IS HARD TO BREATH, I am surprise they allow a place like this to operate.
There is NOT a real SHOWER, there is a place next to the toilet that is a shower and sink, if you take a shower and then need to brush your teeth TOO BAD your feet is going to get wet and remember they don't change the towels, they have this nasty rubber sandals NOT DISPOSABLES, everybody uses the same, just be aware of fungus infections and bacterias...
If you are broke and want a good location because this is the only good thing about this place, it has a great location, this is your place.
If you want a decent place this is not your place, this is most like a hostel.
Their breakfast is terrible, everyday the same same same basic things, if you arrive 20 mins. before closing time there is NO COFFEE and they don't make more because I asked and they didn't bother to make more coffee even though it was only 9:40 a.m. they say the operating hours for breakfast is 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. go early if you want a free cup of coffee.
If there were 0 stars that is what this place deserves it.

First the good: the location is really good - close to the Myeongdong center, subway station and the airport bus stop. Then not so good: the hotel room and bathroom were small (which we expected). The cleaning was supposed to be according to the following schedule: no cleaning after the first day, new towels and garbage pickup after the second and then sheet replacement after the third. We were staying for 3 nights so I expected to have at least the towels replaced and the garbage collected but it didn't happen. Probably because of the wet towels the whole room became quite stuffy.

The Ehwa Hotel was very clean and a good location for shopping and Myeongdong street food (right around the corner!). The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was very simple and okay. Beds were pretty firm but still doable. The rooms are very small, but we were able to fit two large and one medium luggage, one carryon, and two backpacks, plus items we purchased in our room. The bathroom was very interesting. The shower was part of the sink and a shower curtain separated the sink/shower area from the toilet (see pic). But again it was doable.
The issue to be aware of is the road in front of the hotel is for walking only. Therefore, taxis can not drive and drop you off in front of the hotel. It's about a half block walk up the hill to the hotel front door. Not bad, but something to be aware of. Overall for the price, cleanliness and location of the Ehwa Hotel it was a good value.

Walking distance to Myeongdong/ central location in Seoul is the best part about this stay. Everything else is just average. Breakfast is cereal, toast and an egg. Small bathrooms, not supposed to flush toilet paper. Need to put it in the trash. Front desk says they have a cleaning policy but they don’t perform cleaning unless you specifically request it. It’s manageable for a solo traveler for 1-2 days but not ideal. If you’re traveling with two people just go for a nicer hotel across the street.

Overall, the hotel is good: staff, location, cleanliness, very nice room, drinking water available outside the room. These things make our family not happy with the hotel: 1) we stayed on 8th floor, the elevator only goes up to the 7th floor. We had to carry all luggage (some were 50 lbs/ 23kg) up the stairs from 7th to 8th floor. 2) bathrooms were too small for toilet, sink and shower. No hooks in bathroom to hang clothes when showering.

EHWA is what it says it is. Functional, clean and smartly designed- space has been well utilized, as there is so little of it. Tiny rooms, but hey at this price and location, I'm not complaining - besides I came to experience Seoul not EHWA! The breakfast they offer is generic basic, we went to the plethora of cafes in hood for excellent coffee, Koreans LOVE good coffee,
and local restaurants for local food.

Room was quite small--luckily we travel light (just carryon luggage) and there were two of us in a three person room, so we could use single bed as a storage area. Very limited shelf or hanging space. Sign in bathroom asked us not to flush toilet paper, just put it in a lidded waste can. They told us they had problems with toilet clogging, but we had no problem. Breakfast was toast, hard boiled egg, cold cereal of two types, coffee, tea orange drink. Staff friendly and helpful. Located near a lively shopping area with lots of food stalls.

Clean but very small room and the tiniest bathroom. I had the single room since solo traveler. Staff were nice though. Continental breakfast was just basic toast, egg, jam, cereals and milk. Hotel is located on an uphill street so it was hard to get to with bags. Around 8 minutes walk for an older adult (not 5 mins as they say), from the Myeongdong Bus station, which you can catch from and to Incheon airport. Myeongdong street (with the night market) and other shops are close by. Just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

This is an excellent value in a great location. The night market is just around the corner, the cathedral is behind the hotel, and the best coffee shop on earth is a short walk away. If you like walking, you can get to the Seoul Tower in less than 30 minutes, upscale shopping, awesome open markets, and the subway are all nearby, and the downtown district is a lovely stroll down the creek-walk.
The staff are wonderful, friendly, and helpful, and the rooms are well equipped (if a little crowded).

This is a great place to stay for first timers in South Korea. Hotel is really centrally located and right next to the shopping center in Myeongdong. You're also close to all of the bus stations and subways so getting around Seoul was super convenient. Once again location was perfect so I could drop in during the day to take a break before going back out.

As one would expect with the price, room is very simple and makes good use of the space. Heads up that room cleaning is not automatic, you'll need to request it from the front desk which is fine.

Breakfast is very simple, just bread, fruit, juice and coffee. This was fine for me.

Overall I would recommend staying here, and plan on it again if I come back to Korea.

There is no daily housekeeping. Nobody change the bed skirt and no new towels provided. You have to ask in order to get a towel replacement. The bathroom is so small. There is no bathtub. The driver is not allowed to park outside the hotel to pick up guests. The hotel only gives you one key even though you have three people. You need to pay $20,000 wons in order to get one extra key. From my point of view, this is not even a hotel but an air b&b only.

6 nights very accessible. The location of this hotel is about 10minutes walk from the subway station, less than 5mins. walk from bus station, it's also near Myeondong Cathedral Church, shopping area and Myeondong street food market. It's about 20-25minutes walk going to Naemdaemum market. The size of our room is good and clean. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Complimentary breakfast is okay they offer bread, noodles, ham, cheese, cereal, coffee & tea. The staff are helpful and accommodating. We will definitely come back. It's been a month after my visit, I missed Ehwa a lot. I had excellent time during my stay (5 nights in Seollal, Korean Lunar New Year).
Ehwa staff are extremely helpful and accomodating. Learnt that I took midnight flight and landed with empty stomach, I was invited to have a warm breakfast even before check-in. Knew that I am a Catholic, a room with view of Meyongdong Cathedral was arranged.
The room is warm, comfortable and new. Yes, to some people, the shower room is small but it is acceptable to me because it is very clean and well ventilated. This single room is the best when compared its price and quality to other hostels I visited in Europe and the States.
The location is extremely good. In Myeongdong, between two subway lines and near to a bus station (actually i google and took bus more often) but it's not noise at night.
Ehaw is right next to Meyongdong Cathedral in 3 mins walk. Convenient for me to attend the English Mass at 9 am on Sunday.
If you planned to take taxi, you may tell the driver to get off at Meyongdong Catheral and walk up the slope if the driver don't know where Ehaw is. I took the airport express train and got on taxi at Seoul station, arrived the Catheral in 15 minutes.
Simple breakfast offered. I like ham and cheese sandwich the most but also tried cup noodles in one cold morning. Like many hostels, please clean you dishes and keep clean. If you need to empty the rubbish bin, tell staff in the morning.
I recommend Ehwa for solo travellers.

Ehwa in Myeongdong

It is abt less than 10 mins away from Euljiro 3 (sam)-ga station Exit 12 (btw there are escalators) and less than 5 mins from the myeongdong cathedral and shopping area. It is quiet and comfortable. There are water dispensers so U dont have to think about getting your own bottled water. The amenities are basic but do remember to bring your own toothbrush & toothpaste.

The staff was amazing, always took time to help or just to have conversation. Highly recommend!
Breakfast was just ok (many sugary items, white bread, but also had cup ramen!), but I gave the hotel 5 stars overall anyway, because, breakfast is kind of an extra. We would grab coffee from the hotel breakfast and get breads from the nearby Le Pain.bakery.

Modern room, although a bit small, but clean and tidy. Check in was strict at 3pm onwards. Breakfast was reasonable and easy access to Myeongdong district and transport.

Really nice hotel. Some of the staff spoke English, which is very useful. The helped me book the DMZ tour with no problems. Nice room and bed. No problems

Ehwa in Myeongdong is worth staying at

I enjoyed my stay at the Ehwa hotel in Myeongdong. The staff are professional and have very good personal skills. The room was on the small size, but was very clean and had all amenities I needed. The welcome basket of snacks was a lovely touch. The hotel has a nice welcoming feel. The only aspect requiring some improvement is the continental breakfast; it was the same each day and needs variety.
