A good average with friendly staff

Rebranded as the shared inn in 2021. The hotel is very centrally located in the golden square.
The hotel although a little tired is adequate for short stays and is complete with a kitchen big enough for many cooks though only 2 pans to cook with!!
Bring plenty of mosquito spray as even in November, they were very big and very active..
Building work is currently being undertaken at a nearby block which starts around 07:30h
Also recommend bringing your own fire stick/ roku device as the tv is terrible but the free WiFi can cope
To reach the hotel from Nice aeroport take tram from just outside the terminals towards port and exit at Jean Medicin it’s then a 5-10 minutes walk away

The hotel was great apart from one large thing. It was only when I returned home that I discovered I had new bites all over my back and legs. I am pretty certain the bed had bugs. Anyone staying at this hotel should MAKE SURE this not the case in their room.
Staff was friendly and the hotel was quiet but the bed was unacceptable.

This is an excellent hotel for a great location. Getting a little dated but is closing over winter for refurb.
Would look forward to stop again.
Local breakfasts available in cafes, but not for early starters. only 1 opens at 7.
Many ice cream parlours for late night snack on way back to hotel.

The hotel looked a bit uninspiring from the outside but once inside the size of the suite more than made up for it. The location is excellent; central near the Masséna Plaza, restaurants, shops and tram stop. Given the general price of hotels in Nice just over £110 seemed reasonable for 3 of us.

Very nice location. You stepping out of hotel, and right here is buitiful setting with walk only streets, and restorants.
Make sure, you understand that room is very small. But you have all you need. Two separate beds, clean, well maintained bathroom and shower.

The location of Hotel Regeance was great for walking around the pedestrian restaurant streets, old Nice, and getting to the beach. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The rooms are fairly basic and do not include a bar fridge. The hotel does not actually have parking and the “discount” that they offer for a nearby parkade is only valid if you remove your car by 9am each morning and then don’t put it back until 6pm.

I loved everything about this hotel. The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The check in staff were very welcoming and made check in very easy. My room was on the small side but this didn't bother me at all. The location was perfect and it was near to everything including restaurants, beach, shops and transportation.

Ask for a room at the back as rooms on the front- main street where bars/ shops are can be very noisy.
Lots of noise every morning from 7am onwards deliveries to nearby shops/ hotels Fed Ex or laundry etc.Nights can be noisey too- but not the fault of the hotel.

Very nice property set off a major shopping and restaurant street. The street out front is pedestrian only, which makes it easy to get out and start walking. You are about a 10 minute walk from the main train station, and about a 3 minute walk to the nearest tram station. Place Massena is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel and Old Nice is about a 5 minute walk. The room was nice and comfortable, with very good air-conditioning. We were there in the middle of the summer, and the air-conditioning at night was a welcome relief. The front desk was helpful and always available, and although you are right in the middle of everything the rooms are set back from the street quite a bit, so the room is very quiet.

Hotel was conveniently located and walkable to the beach, the train station, tram, etc. The one negative I have is that the breakfast was horrible. For 10 euros, there were a couple of rolls with butter, jam, and a couple pieces of wrapped cheese. Other than that, the hotel is fine.

Pleasant staff, room well maintained, good internet service. I was travelling solo, so had a compact room -- not sure what others are like. My window was on a central courtyard -- no view, but also quiet, which is a plus when you're on a busy pedestrian street with lots of restaurants touting for tourist trade. Location makes for an easy walk to Vieux Nice, the seafront promenade, the city's fine trams and the central shopping area. As at most mid-range hotels, the breakfast option seemed pricey so I explored patisseries in the area.

This hotel gives you good clean accomodation right in the heart of the busy pedestrian area. On arrival we asked for a front room overlooking the street and the receptionist was happy to oblige. Security at the hotel was good - after dark you use your room door card to operate the main doors into the foyer.

Hotel Regence is an incredible place to stay. It is so incredibly central, close to beach and train station, very clean and spacious. Our room was huge with a double bed and sofa couch that pulled out into a bed for the kids. We had 2 bathrooms. We are a family of 4 - kids ages at time of travel were 13 and 11. Sadly we only stayed one night, I wish it was more. Would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

I have been to Nice many times and I keep returning th the Regence. The location is incredible right on the Rue de France and a short walk to the Prominade and Place Messina. The room is immaculate and quiet. The Internet is fast and you are not hurried to vacate the room when you are staying over.

The location was great, very central. However, based on the staff alone, I would not recommend this hotel. They were terribly unhelpful and acted as if we were causing them trouble by asking questions. The room was OK and had one window to an inaccessible courtyard (wasted space in my opinion). The bathroom was nice but didn't have enough counter space.

Great location in the heart of the town. Five minute walk to the beach with loads of bars and restaurants on your doorstep.
Check in and reception area were pleasent. Room (Classic Double) was basic, very small and decor was dark and dingy, bathroom was good and shower worked well. Air-con is a must and worked brilliantly.
Thought it was overpriced for what you got but this is Nice so to be expected. Just for the location and air-con I would stay here again but rooms are disappointing.

Smart Small hotel in THE heart of Old Nice

Fantastic boutique hotel positioned perfectly 5 mins from Promenade des Anglais, 5 mins from major bus station, 5 mins from La Fayette, near THE market place and surrounded by restaurants, bars and international Fashion Boutiques in Old Nice. Clean, very spacious suites,quiet when Windows closed and at a great price. Only grumble: no refrigerator & no tea/coffee facility in room. Would stay again.

Nothing special but no complaints other than tired looking interiors. Good location close to the old town and water front but pedestrian only rue Massena itself is a little noisy with restaurants set up on the street, milling crowds and an occasional street performer. The street side rooms are a little noisy but not bad while the larger first floor rooms, all in the back around a small airy court, are quiet. Too bad there are no electrical outlets in the bathrooms.

Hôtel Régence is an excellent hotel, based on both its value for money and location.
The hotel itself is situated perfectly, along a busy, vibrant stretch (Rue Masséna) filled with an abundance of shops and restaurants - as well as being within a 5 minute walk to the beachfront, and further shops/restaurants/cafés. It very much feels like you are at the hub of the city.

The room itself was simple and basic, however very clean and spacious, with a large bathroom along with essential amenities - hairdryer, soaps, shampoos etc. The bed and pillows were comfy. When we first arrived, the room was very hot and stuffy, so I would recommend to always have the air-con on - which itself unfortunately wasn’t always reliable (although we may have just got unlucky with our particular room).

Overall with this hotel, you get what you pay for - and that is excellent value for money. I would highly recommend this hotel, and would happily stay here again should I return to Nice.

Had to ask for glasses no ice bucket probably because there wasn't any ice. No fridge in room.
The tub/shower was dangerously difficult to step into and very slippery.
10 Euros for breakfast which inccluded coffee, tea or chocolate and a few pastries.
Not worth the money.

Hotel standard prices are good value and being in the middle of Rue Massena it's a great location. Hotel was clean and staff were friendly. Only issue was warm room (outside temperature was only 7-9 degrees) and no air con, which meant opening the window and increasing noise. Overall a good experience.

The lobby is nice and inviting. Elevator is a short flight of stairs up - so you'll need to haul your luggage to it. The place is clean and well kept. It's located centrally in old town / city center and close to tram, shops and restaurants.

The room was clean but extremely compact. The shower was the smallest I have ever used in my life. I could not even turn around inside. There was not much of a closet and only a tiny shelved unit. The safe was too small to put anything other than few papers, passport and cash. I couldn't put my camera or laptop inside. There were no amenities in the room. Only a wall mounted body wash dispenser in the shower and two small bottles of shampoo. There were no soap, cotton swabs, or other usual toiletries.

There were a lot of restaurants in all directions, I had bad experience in a few of them. This is not a criticism of the hotel per se, but a general remark about the eatieries in the vicinity. Stay away from all places that do not have interior seating. These seem to be tiny \"shacks\" that put a removable walls around tables on the street, so not much of a kitchen. The food at these locations were often terrible and on one occasion I got sick. Also, they allow smoking since these seating arrangements are considered outdoor seating. So, if you don't want to get smoked out, get sick and overpay for re-heated pre packaged food, avoid them. The other restaurants, with indoor seating have real kitchen staff and in general were good to great

The bed was comfortable and the shower warm, but the staff had no time for guests, the décor is tired and badly damaged, the lighting on the stairs is dim and does not work very well, so using them is dangerous. Also the hot drinks in the breakfast room were lukewarm at best. When I raised these issues, I was met with indifference by the staff

Worst Customer Serivce-was asked to go away at 2am

Worst customer service ever !! I was refused to be checked in at 2am on Mon 2nd Oct (although your website said you are open 24 hours). We showed them our hotel confirmation but they said there is no room left. So we had to walk away to find another hotel at 2am ! We then requested to refund but the hotel management refused to provide the refund (twice!) according to hotels.com. Don't stay here unless you want to ruin your holiday !

Another interesting fact of the hotel is that they don't check email after 12am (why are you open 24 hours then ?). My flight was cancelled midnight at 12am. I quickly book a hotel with hotels.com to ensure that I have a place to stay. However, upon arrival, the hotel receptionist told me that they don't check email after 12am !! He then reassured me that they haven't take my payment. I showed them my confirmation email from hotels.com but he didn't even bother looking at the details but to refuse my check in and said we haven't taken your payment. Your attitude working as an receptionist did not impress me at all as a 3 star hotel.

I have made complaint with hotels.com and they are working with this . I am refused for check in and my payment for this hotel should be refunded by Hotel Regency.

I stayed at this hotel and another hotel just around the block.
The other hotel was slightly expensive but I will definitely come back for Hotel Regence.
The room was small but neat and clean, there were no bath tab, shower was extremely small, but OK.
There were no amenity goods, but I usually bring my own shampoos and face wash etc, so it didn't matter.

The receptionist was there almost all the time and very helpful.
I lost my i-phone charger and I realized at 1 am in the morning !
I went down stair hope to find someone and one of the staff there helped me use his personal charger!!
It was in the middle of the main street and I can't find any better place in Nice with my budget.

If you are there on a Monday check if the antique fair is on. Internet was good. Bed comfortable bathroom clean. Queen bed is two singles pushed together. Overall recommended for comfort and cost.

Wonderful location but extremely quiet

I stayed in a room overlooking the busy pedestrian street but once I closed the windows, it was totally quiet. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and professional. Once we got there we found out that the hotel can arrange airport pickup and drop off for 40euros. It is the same price as a cab but more convenient. There are dozens of restaurants just outside the front door and are much better for breakfast than the breakfast in the hotel.

Charming decor in the lobby & desk staff was both friendly and helpful. Wonderful location! Room was a bit tight as the end of the bed was barely a foot from the wall. WiFi was spotty.

Clean but so noisy.

The hotel is in a good spot for touring around; however I texas so loud at night and impossible to sleep. Also they over charged me and now I'm having to deal with hotels.com to get my money back. The hotel wasn't nice about it either they just said sorry pay this and call hotels.com yourself.

very nice hotel

the hotel and staff are very nice and room is clean and comfertable and the hotel very near to thr sea and resturant and shops , the hotel is in the center every thing i need around as we love to much and i will stay again in the hotel every year .

Great hotel marred by surly staff

Great location on Rue Masséna in the pedestrian precinct. If you want to be in the thick of the action, this is the place. 10 min walk to beach, 20 min walk to old town. Cabs can't drop you off there during the day, so be prepared to walk a few hundred meters... The hotel is nice enough, tho the staff are cold to surly. Unlike N America, there is no full-time onsite manager to deal with problems, and I had a few. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told there there isn't one. Hence, you have to deal with day/night desk staff, who I found to be generally unfriendly and not particularly engaged. No smiles, no greetings, no pleasantries, no \"Hey, we're sorry. We will try to fix that right away.\" Pretty shocking as a Canadian used to excellent, friendly customer service. A warning - hotel pillows are like hard seat cushions - awful. I brought my own from home. Also no proper table and seating in the room, and only one hard uncomfortable chair. No bar fridge either. So I would same room comfort/amenities minimal.

We had a great 3 day stay . Location of our hotel , made it easy to get around and great restaraunts at our doorstep.
