The hotel was a bit run down and not in the best condition. The walls between the rooms were too thin and you can hear a lot of noise from outside. The room was ok but very outdated and not very comfortable. Good enough for our stay but won’t be staying there again.
The location was great though and close to everything in the city and transportation.

Needs a renovation.

The hotel was quiet. The breakfast was wonderful. But the water was lukewarm, AC was barely working, brown towels were like sandpaper, mold in the bath tub, bath fixtures were rusty. The location was great.

Excellent location. Within walking distance of tram to/from airport and close to old town. Elevator was tiny and could only take 2 people with luggage. Breakfast was on the pricy side, but was okay. Staff were wonderful and answered all questions.

Hotel Helvetique room is unclean with untidy towels that have an unpleasant odor(vomit smell). It also has limited space for movement due to being quite small. Additionally, the hotel is poorly maintained, and the building itself is old and not well taken care of. To add further, the bathroom is not adequately stocked and has unsanitary towels. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! They promised me a refund but did not give it to me. Won’t answer my messages. The hotel is filthy. The hallways smell. There was hair all over the beds when we checked in. I went to the reception. He said there was nothing he could do. I complained and he said to stop back later for some new sheets. When I returned they were in my room. They would not make the beds. The three sheets they left were filthy. One had good stains, one had foot prints from a boot, and one had bodily fluids. When I went down to complain he did not think any my thing was wrong. After three calls to the manager she said she would refund me as I was NOT staying there. Never heard back or got my refund. Best part, he was speaking to her in French and she asked my nationality? What? How is that even relevant. STAY AWAY! And the parking is not close.

The room is not what you show in the pictures.
When we retained the room showed to be $86 daily but ended up at over a $100 per day breakfast was included when booked and they said \"no\" extra 20 euros a day

Helvetique is brilliant positioned for those who want to enjoy The many aspects of Nice. One block from Place Massena and the tram network it makes arriving from the airport, getting to the beach, old city, shopping , out of the way all so easy to do. The multilingual staff are both welcoming and informative.
My double occupancy room was perfect for my needs.

Cold showers :(

So for 2 nights I was staying with friends and 1 night solo. The 1st 2 nights we noticed our room being much dingier than all our other friends rooms which wasn't that nice a feeling. All of us had issues with the hot water so the shower would be ok then all the hot water would run out. The night I was on my own it was like I was in a different hotel. The room was opposite my old one and a million times nicer and somehow cheaper than the dingy room. However the rainfall shower had amazing pressure but the same problem with hot water :( I could only enjoy it for about 30 seconds.

The staff are lovely and it is quite central. There was a homeless person sleeping just outside on one of the nights but it might be a reflection of the times. Nice is a lovely place to visit. This hotel was convenient, if you are lucky enough to get a nice room and like cold showers then book it. Otherwise look elsewhere.

The main advantage of this hotel is its location around the corner from Place Massena

Lots going on in Place Massena which is 5 mins away. 15 mins walk to train but tram goes there for 1.50 Euros from massena. 10 mins from seafront and Promenade des Anglais and Old town.
Ideal location really. Good value breakfast in hotel. Would stay there again.

Nice and convenient location, friendly staff, room was nice and clean. The bathroom and toilet were disappointing (bad odour, poor lighting). Windows had no flyscreen, so leaving them open was not an option either. Facilities could have been better too. The elevator was too small and not really enough for the number of guests (expect some delays).

Very small hotel. No parkong even though it said it did but we were able to park on the street overnight so that was ok upon getting into her bed my daughter found a tic tax mint in her sheets!! Yuk obviously didn't change those sheets! But the location was good in Nice and we were only one night. Extremely small elevator!!!!!

Free cancellation, but nonrefundable upon check-in

On check-in I was requested to pay for the whole 9 nights stay even before I could see the room. “What can you expect in 3 stars hotel room” (135 Euros/night without breakfast) said Bruno and refused to show the room. Since my reservation with free cancellation policy stated that the hotel “will not be able to refund any payment for no-shows or early check-out”, I refused to prepay. The compromise was to pay for the first two nights and then to decide. The room was even above our expectations after Bruno’s warning: renovated, clean, relatively big with comfortable beds. The toilet is separated from the bathroom (I’m talking about three beds room) which was quite convenient for 3 in a room. After two days Bruno requested to pay for the whole stay, so from now on it became nonrefundable.
But this was the only drawback in our stay. Without talking about minor (no Kleenex, no glasses in the room, only two hooks in the bathroom, closing the entry door does not lock it), everything was OK. The location is perfect, mini fridge worked well, no problem with Wi-Fi. But the best of all was the service provided by Sophie and Tatiana - extremely friendly and helpful.

Very good location. Room was slightly dim-lit, but it's ok. Counter staff was friendly and helpful, that's a big plus. Car-parking is a problem, you may have to circle round like a vulture to get a lot on the streets, otherwise parking in the mall will set you back 15 Euros or so. Big plus is it is a few minutes from the main city centre, be it for restaurants or the main shopping street

Good for visiting the city a couples of days.

We were giving the worst room ever -101- (noise from outside, noise from the staff very early in the morning when preparing the breakfast, furthermore room was super small, and beside the lift. I really do not know how that room can be booked.
Then we asked for change it and they changed us, but paying more. The new room was much better, bigger and at the other side of the street, therefore very quite and silent.

Internet was working but not always.

The best thing about this hotel is definitely the location. It is perfect when visiting the city.

Lovely, clean hotel

Wonderful staff. They were warm and helpful--even with two young kids and a midnight arrival! The rooms are average, but very clean and my kids LOVED the giant tub. Walking distance to Eiffel Tower and river cruise. Great room for a great price.

I wanted an affordable option near Old Town and the beach, and I found it! This was a quick walk to everywhere I wanted to be, but also not right in the middle of it all. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and the bed as as (un)comfortable as any I have found in France. Two observations (not complaints as I was fine with them, but just for your information), the bathroom has a tub with a wand, but no where to hang it to take a stand-up shower. The walls are quite thin, at least for the room I had in the stairwell. I did not complain as I am a heavy sleeper, but if noise is an issue for you, as for a room in the main hallways.

Only positive we came away with was location.

If all you need is a great location, go for it. Otherwise, buyer beware. We arrived at 7pm first night, took a micro elevator to the fourth floor room and found the bed and bathroom in shambles. Uncleaned in every way from the previous guest. Back down the elevator, we were reluctantly given a different slightly larger room on the 3rd floor with the admonishment that we would be back in the smaller room the next day once it was clean (fair enough). In our temporary 3rd floor room, the separate toilet \"closet\" was in the bedroom, TINY and located less than 2 feet from the head of the bed! One couldn't shut the toilet door while sitting on the throne! This made for some varying degrees of hilarity, photo ops and the occasional \"Uh, honey? Could you either plug your ears or go hang out in the hallway while I, you know... We had brought (and by now desperately needed) some wine but back downstairs, the receptionist declined to give us any glasses/tumblers and told us to use the plastic dixie cups in the bathroom. The self-same fellow who'd just acted upset and embarrassed that we'd come in to find our room TOA (trashed on arrival)! A little damage control, common sense and perhaps hospitality training screamed for somebody to get us two glasses from the nearby kitchen. But. No. Beyond that, the hotel overall looked and felt tired, the mattress was really uncomfortable, tiles falling apart on stairs, no milk for cereal/coffee at basic breakfast. No one around to get more. Skip it

We are not demanding people but for cleanliness and comfort. We found both. The room was medium size with a desk and comfortable chairs for a small table. The room was quiet--important to us-but therefore faced a courtyard.
The staff was very helpful and the location was perfect, one block from Massena Square and from the old city. We'd go back again.

After checking-in I noticed that there were humidity stains on the wall. I reported it immediately and asked to move to another room but it was not possible neither the same day nor the following. Next day when I came back to the room, the stains were painted without my authorization especially with regard to the use of paint, without alternative for accommodation to another room.
I further noticed that there was also humidity in the bathroom. When I addressed to the responsible of the hotel requesting an analogic compensation/reduction on account of the inconvenience and the discrepancies compared to the room I had booked and pre-paid, she was unhelpful and unwilling to do anything, including apologising for the inconvenience.
Air condition was also old.
Overpriced for the provided services and with discrepancies compared to what was displayed in the pictures.

Struttura in pieno centro, molto comoda alla piazza centrale e al mare. Colazione extra troppo costosa, personale cortese ma poco attento alle esigenze del cliente compresa la difficoltà linguistica. Pulizia adeguata ma poco attenta ai dettagli (pezzi di vetro ritrovati all’inizio del soggiorno e subito segnalati, mai rimossi nei giorni successivi). Garage non sempre disponibile ma parcheggi in convenzione nelle vicinanze.

Hotel buono e in ottima posizione, però, per il check in, occorre avvertire la clientela che, per arrivare all'hotel, davanti ci sono le transenne che vanno spostate anche solo per potersi fermare per scaricare i bagagli
Abbiamo girato più di un'ora e, al telefono, ci dicevano di passare in hotel per ritirare il ticket per il parcheggio prenotato. Ma, ogni volta che arrivavamo davanti all'hotel, che sta su una strada senza possibilità di sostare un attimo, dovevamo ritornare sulla strada
Per cortesia avvertite i clienti in anticipo!!!!!

Posizione ottima, pulizia eccellente e personale cordiale e disponibile nonostante parlassimo poco la lingua. Camera troppo piccola per 4 persone ma soprattutto divano letto davvero scomodo e mancanza di punti per appendere asciugamani e costumi.

Perfect hotel for exploring Nice

Nice hotel situated in close to the old city, shopping and the beach.

We paid for parking at the hotel, parked safely under Nice Etoile max 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Only bad thing about the parking was that you have to pay a deposit in cash, which the hotel didn’t tell us before even though we wrote a lot of details regarding parking before arrival.

Nice clean room, our family of 4 fitted well. New bathroom, small toilet. Refrigerator in the room. No view from the room, but we weren’t expecting that, the hotel and room lived up to our expectations, kind staff as well.

We will use the hotel again next time we visit Nice

Grymt läge, ok toa - allt annat var kasst. Rummet luktade mögel/unket. Nycklarna lämnas i receptionen och sen kan man säga ett valfritt rumsnr och få valfri nyckel vilket är osäkert. Konstant rotation av personal. Rummen upplevdes små och väggarna kala och ovårdade. Hissen fruktansvärd. Som sagt, vill du ha bra läge är detta grymt men det var absolut inte prisvärt med tanke på allt annat som var under all kritik.
