We arrived on the 20th, once we got back from dinner we called down to reception as there was a bad sewage smell in the room. Nothing was actioned and no one came to the room and we ended up falling to sleep with the light on. We then mentioned it again when leaving the hotel in the morning of the 21st. We got back to the hotel in the early afternoon and the smell was still awful. When had then planned to go to the beach that states is included on the hotels website. The reception team then tried to charge us €80. We were outraged by this and the smell of the room that we asked to speak to the manager. He clearly didn’t understand what we were saying but offered us to swap rooms. This is not ideal when we want to relax and had completely unpacked. We are only staying one extra night so this didn’t seem like a fair solution to the problem and also … didn’t address the fact we had already complained about it TWICE. Not at all happy.

Not a Five Star Hotel

I wouldn’t consider this a five star hotel. We spent over $1k per night and compared to the Anantara (a four star hotel) this was definitely not worth it. The carpets in the hallways were stained, the headboard of our room was dirty, the terrace was super small. The shower was incredibly loud and the water temperature was never consistent.

The hotel is in a great location in centre of town and just short walk to the beach. However, considering we paid over $900 CDN per night (August, so likely an increase due to high season) this hotel is not worth the value for money. The room was tight and oddly designed. When you walk into the room you are essentially in the shower and sink area of the bathroom.There isn’t a door between this area and the bedroom. There was no storage area in the bathroom, just an Ikea type shelf that looked well used. The mini fridge was not plugged in so everything was warm and when we plugged it in, hours later we found that it didn't work anyways. The area where they served breakfast smelled so bad that we had to eat outside. This hotel looks very pretty on the outside and is in a great spot, but definitely not worth the price.

The only thing that was a bit disappointing is the outdoor pool space, the pool is great but there isn’t enough places for all guests while there are many unoccupied tables, my expectation is that it would be versatile according to the hour in the day

I love this property. Since I first stayed at the hotel 6 years ago, I appreciate the area around, especially since the underground was built and you can easily get here from airport. The rooms a big and stylish. Beds are comfy. Stuff is super kind and personal. Design, once been on a cutting edge, still looks appealing.

It is a lovely hotel in a nice area... great for travelling to and from Nice airport as an exit to the tram stop is just outside the hotel..i had a treatment in the spa.... i gave a low score overall and for staff based on my initial contact with one member of staff as i approached the hotel.. he did not greet me as i approached, in fact he attempted to block my access to the hotel.. i had to say to him, \"Excuse me!! I have a reservation here!!\"..i was smart casual, in jeans and a blazer ..perhaps it was because i was not dragging Louis Vuitton luggage or just plain racism which is funny as the person blocking me was of N. African descent. This same person was fawning over a guest that pulled up to the front of the hotel in a sports car...With that initial interaction, i had to give a lower score as it spoilt my overall experience so i will probably not return.

Very disappointing visit. We stayed here for a week three years ago and it was wonderful. Was really disappointed this time. Even upgraded to a ‘deluxe’ room, it was of motel quality. Uncomfortable bed, thin bedding, cheap pillows and towels. No armchairs in room and carved headboard made it impossible to read in bed. TV positioned opposite wardrobe do you couldn’t see it. Minibar not fully stocked. Had to request soap. Most certainly not worthy of its star rating.

The interior of this hotel is so unique and interesting. It is so well located in terms of access and easy walking distance to the ocean, Vieux Nice Ville and the Saleya market. The hotel is steps from the subway entrance that connects to the Nuce airport. In addition it is an easy walk along Jean Medicin from the train station. The tram runs along Jean Medicin but it really isn’t necessary to hop on because the walk is flat with wide sidewalks on a street that only has the tram running its length. You can’t go wrong staying at Boscolo. It was our sixth stay at this property.

The hotel was beautiful - very clean and white and had a regal feeling to it. The staff was very friendly, but not very efficient. I asked the front desk to book a lunch for me in Eze - and they informed me they would do it the following morning. The following morning they didn't address it or book the lunch. I asked for my mini bar to be re-filled - waited 40 minutes and finally went downstairs to get a bottled water. Any requests from staff were either slow or not handled at all.

Overpriced and overrated

The hotel is in a good location in the centre of town and just a short walk away from the sea. However, considering we paid over 300 euros for one night, this hotel is terrible value for money. The room was small, there isn’t a proper door between the toilet and the bedroom and the shower in the bedroom so there is no privacy. The room also looks very different from the rooms ok hotels.com so just be prepared. The staff were slow to check us in and out and the breakfast was very average for the price. This hotel may have been fashionable 50 years ago but it looks outdated now. Would not stay again and would not recommend.

There was a mold smell near the bathroom sink and the tub was not clean. I did not receive a receipt upon check out and they said they would email it, but two business days later I still have not received it. The indoor pool, gym, spa and rooftop restaurant were closed. The room was nice, but this is not a 5 star hotel...a solid 3. The only thing that was consistently great was the staff.

Good location in Nice! Hotel was very clean and modern.

Some items to consider:
1. Room needed better black out blindes. Sun gets you up early
2. Pool on roof was quite small with not too much room around it or comfortable chairs for guests. Still had a good time, just wouldn’t give it perfect marks.
3. Paid for valet parking. Would’ve been nice if this was included as we didn’t get the room upgrade.
4. Good location but several blocks from the beach so If you are going for the beach there is likely better hotels closer to water.

Overall was pleased and probably would stay here again.

The experience at The Boscolo was excellent. When we checked in it was late at night. The staff was super friendly and warm. After a few days it’s like we were a family. The rooms are clean, comfortable and airy. The breakfast and the staff are so warm, especially Alessandria and Muhammad. Elizabetta and her Staff are so excellent in providing site seeing tips and restaurants. Overall, I would The Boscolo 5/5 and return for future stay. They made our stay in Nice remarkable.

The property is well located. The staff at reception were lovely. The hotel is a basic in the rooms, but fine and very clean. Very nice cleaning staff. The spa is nice sometimes - early morning it is great, later so busy you can't breathe. The changing rooms were a nightmare as they are too small / crowded. The pool too gets very busy, so there's no spade to swim. The staff in the truffle-themed restaurant were excellent.

Pillow case was shredded, the bathroom towel had black marks on it, there is no door at the bathroom (‘hotel design’). They’ve asked us to pay for the breakfast we had eaten on the previous evening! The spa is average at best.

We read a lot of negative reviews after we had booked this hotel. We nearly changed the booking! We are so glad we didn’t. The hotel is wonderful. Perfect location. Very friendly welcoming staff. Spotlessly clean and very COVID aware. Our bed was changed every day of our 7 day stay and towels were changed twice a day. Plenty bottled water provided. We had breakfast in Les 2 Palmiers across the road. Good value and excellent coffee.

I have travelled and stayed in many many 5 star hotels (including the Boscolo location in Rome). The location is good but the bed and pillows were not comfortable at all. Even with extra padding hard to get a good nights sleep. The room shower tiles/bathroom tiles are aging and need an upgrade. Probably would not stay here again.

The property is a very unique hotel in a wonderful central part of Nice. It is spotlessly clean, the rooms are small but well appointed and the staff are lovely. However, our New Years Eve was ruined because we spent it at the Hotel's NY dinner. It was held in their breakfast room, brightly lit and the food was largely inedible. For 175 Euros, only the dessert and the palate cleansers were edible - we saw everyone in the room refuse to even try the fish because of the smell. The food was simply the worst I have ever had in France. Despite ruining our New Years night (it took 4.5 hours to serve most of the dishes - we left before the final one was served) the hotel only offered us a miserly 10% reduction over the vile meal. DO NOT opt for any 'special event' meals put on by the hotel.
