Absolutely beautiful hotel with an amazing location. Parking was close by and easy. Very clean and staff were friendly. We had an issue because the shower didn’t drain properly (which was a shame because it was hot with great pressure!). Also the hair dryer didn’t work properly but they were very quick to replace it.

The hotels location is excellent. Directly opposite the Promenade des Anglais. The bedroom was on a mezzanine floor and the bed was very comfortable with excellent pillows. Room was very clean. Reception staff were always very polite and helpful in carrying our suitcases up the stairs.

The location was amazing. Easy walk to everything in Old Town. Staff was helpful and attentive. Room cleaned everyday very nicely. Only issue is that the standard rooms are very small. Sort of like being on a cruise ship, but honestly it was fine and I would stay here again. Be advised no elevator so you have to carry the suitcases up stairs. Was fine for us but had to help a few older couples. Also, big plus is you can set the air low and keep it cool without some ridiculous alleged \"environmental\" restriction.

On arrival we were early and only had to wait 15 minutes for our room. We loved our room, booked a privilege room and it didn’t disappoint.
Large and spacious, with a large bathroom.
The room was very clean with air conditioning a small fridge with 2 free drinks along with tea and coffee.
Hotel across the road from the beach and located within the old city.
Would definitely stay here again, highly recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel, ideal location! We stayed in room eight noisy about 6 am due to deliveries to The restaurant below room. We stayed two nights no housekeeping on second day, but we weren’t too fussed about that as got coffee pods from reception. Will definitely stay again.

I loved the location in Old Town across the street from the Mediterranean Sea. Room was spacious and very comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the washroom. The shower was part of the room so water splashed everywhere. Perhaps add a glass wall? They should replace the pedestal sink with a cabinet so that there is room to place your toiletries.

Beautiful boutique hotel with direct view of the Mediterranean and within walking distance of the Place Masséna and Vieux Nice. Staff provides excellent customer service. Rooms are clean, comfortable, and good size. Breakfast buffet is plentiful. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to my next visit.

A Gem in Nice-Ville

For my first trip to Nice-Ville, I couldn't have made a better choice than to stay at Mercure Marche aux Fleurs. Main points to rave about: the location--the hotel's directly across the street from the Promenade des Anglais, providing a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean as you walk out the front door. To have that 3+ mile walkway to stroll and take in the sights of the sea, with immediate beach access: beyond beautiful and convenient. The hotel's in striking distance of \"Nice-ville,\" the old town section--that made for splendid, wandering walks every day. And it's close to public transport--the TGV line stops in town (best to catch a cab to the hotel, though); and the trams and bus lines can get you to other spots on the shore. But the hotel's interior was fantastic, too. My room was smartly designed, tastefully decorated; excellent, firm bed and pillows; and surprisingly quiet, given the proximity to the promenade and beach. Important perk: A/C. The hotel staff was terrific: impressively multi-lingual, informative, patient, and kind. Two slight critiques: there's no elevator in the hotel. You can get help with your baggage, though. Second: my room (1st floor) had a damp smell to it. I chalked it up to beach life. Still, it'd be great if the bathroom (in particular) had exhaust fans of some sort. That point noted, I'd return to Mercure Aux Fleurs in a heartbeat!

Best location in Nice old town.

The hotel location is hard to beat. It is close to EVERYTHING. the hotelstaff is very friendly, and the breakfast was excellent. The room we got was on ground floor, facing the back street, so it was noisy. The drain in the shower was slow, and the hot water was not consistent. There was construction goin on, so we had to deal with scaffolds, wall painting, and steps... If you have heavy luggage, it will be a bit of work. Other than that, the hotel was adequate for our stay.

The location is fantastic - right on the edge of the old town and walking distance of the train and tram stations. Fantastic for seeing everything you would want to see in Nice.
Interesting rooms in two levels - with the bathroom and small living room on the lower floor and bed on the upper floor via a staircase. It could do with a small sofa on the lower floor, as it seemed slightly wasted space, even through there was a TV there.
Door to a balcony - although be aware that the hotel front is on a Main Street, the side is on a cut through with restaurant downstairs, and the back is on a busy street to the old town - so opening the window lets the noise in.
Brekfast is 20 euro per person - don’t waste your money as there are plenty of places near by where you can get food and coffe for 10 euro a head.
Fantastic hotel though and the location can’t be faulted. Staff were friendly.

The location is on point. The staff is very friendly and professional. There was much to be desired from the room like how the space was used, the door had broken part on the bottom, the lighting for the hidden mirror was poor and kept swiveling consistently because it wasn’t aligned properly, the smell of dampness in the bathroom was strong, however the bed was very comfortable. I would give the hotel a second chance, in another room.

The photo on the website looked delightful. The reality was so different. The price we paid was £251 but on the day the price had fallen to £160. The room we were given was dinged, cramped though the bed was comfortable. The staircase to the bed would be most awkward for many to navigate. Definitely won’t be returning.

Hotel rooms in France are small- that’s ok,
But the bathroom had no plug in for the hairdryer.
I had to try to style my hair in bedroom without a mirror.
Suggestion- add mirror over the small desk where there is a plug in. Also, shower has no place to put bottle for conditioner/ shaving blade.

By far the worst hotel experience ever!😡

Booked this apparently 4 star hotel as part of wedding anniversary trip to South France. Red flag from the moment we’ve checked in, the receptionist was extremely rude and kept on rolling eyes for every simple question asked. We are easy to please people and all we’ve asked was a nice/decent room for our anniversary. After receiving a strict negative response that our booking was via Hotels.com and aren’t entitled to a room such as sea view and no cancellation or refund possible, we decided to go to our allocate room 101. Oh my word!!! Never have I experienced anything like it. The room looks like a previously housekeeping cupboard, only able to fit a bed and a table - a rat hole in a nutshell. I wish I could describe the mould smell in this room but there isn’t such a word in dictionary. All I can say is a week later and we’re still heavily breathing after one night spent in this room. Also, to top this up the room next to it has few washing machines running constantly. Just when you think it can’t get any worse, you open the balcony curtains and see the ugliest ever backyard. Breakfast also cheap options, with pretty much everything microwaved, incl. scrambled eggs. All in all, definitely not recommending this scam hotel to anyone, as the website photos aren’t showing the reality. Or most likely they only advertise their best room as standard. Equally, I am reluctant using Hotels.com in the future based on this experience. Avoid if possible is my advice!

This is clearly not a 4 star hotel, the rooms are tiny, with the bed on a mezzanine floor, albeit they are clean and well maintained The “courtyard” view was actually over an alleyway with the frog restaurant underneath which was very noisy. Photo shown are mainly if the privilege rooms - they certainly look brighter and more acceptable. We lasted 2 nights before we moved to another hotel ( we’d prepaid so could not get refund - this tells you how bad it was ).

The front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. The mattresses have a protective wrapping around them, however, I think it would be better if a fitted sheet was covering the plastic as opposed to a regular sheet since the regular sheet often moved and you could feel the plastic. My room was facing an alley and it was often very noisy especially late at night due to clean up from the restaurant. However, the room was overall very clean, along with the bathroom. If I were to return to Nice, I would stay here again.

Great location with very friendly staff. Good to see them making as many changes in terms of sustainability and eco-friendly toiletries and paper cups for water, etc. Fab breakfast options available daily.
Downside was the room was quite small with very little storage space for two of us and having to wriggle past end of bed and wall-mounted TV.
Having said that, we would use again but probably upgrade room.

Great potential, but overall disappointing…

We booked the hotel knowing that it was a more budget option and we’re pretty low maintenance, but was left overall disappointed by a hotel that has great potential, given the location right on the seafront.
Pros:
-Staff were always pleasant and helpful
-Location is great, on the seafront and only a 2 minute walk from the markets
-Bed and pillows were comfortable
-Shower was good
-Filtered water fountain
Cons:
-Room was very small, would’ve been a squeeze if we had larger cases, especially around the bed
-The air-con only blew hot air, it wasn't boiling as we went in April, but still warm enough to be uncomfortable
-We didn’t pay for enhanced room, but our view was’t very nice at all
-Decor and appearance of the room and hotel was very different to the photos provided on Hotels.com
-We had to ask for more milk, sugar etc as they weren’t refilled
-We found many small black hairs on the bed and on the bathroom floor on arrival and after room service

Great location but this is a 2 or 2.5 star property. Forget the lack of lobby, common area, etc but the room is where this property totally fails. Room had barely any room around the queen sized bed; windows were not hotel quality triple panes so heard all the drunk revelers walking by the hotel on the street below; no real shelf space in either the room or bathroom to put stuff on; AC did not cool properly; etc. The “lobby” was a 12x12 foot space; the “bar” was a laughable 12x12 space with no one ever there. If it were not for the location this would not be worth it but for the price we paid, this absolutely was not worth a 4 star.

The staff was great and the location was awesome if you want to check out the beach across the street as well as be right by the cafes and shopping. Excellent!

The rooms were extremely small, felt like we were on top of one another. I would not have stayed if we had been staying longer.
The staff were very good, friendly and helpful.
However we were very disappointed to have to use paper cups and were only given 1 small bottle of water per day between us. Should have been one each.
This was not a 4* hotel. You do not get paper cups in a 4 star hotel. Very disappointing. , more like 2 star. Definitely no where near worth over £300 per night!
We have complained to Mercure as not their normal standard. (We thought we would be ok as it is a Mercure)

Avoid this hotel. Staff is awful and engages with discriminatory/xenophobic treatment of guests. Despite the 4* rating, THIS IS NOT A 4* HOTEL. Rooms are small, bathroom is some kind of cheap open space. Hotel attempted to charge me the breakfast included on the reservation. They weren't lucky there. Breakfast is truly awful and COVID-19 cannot be an excuse for everything.

Seriously, this place sucks and should be avoided.

Was supposed to get a voucher that was approved by the hotel. Never received the voucher because hotels.com said I never cancelled the reservation. I have proof no one told me to cancel the reservation. 100% worst customer service from resort and hotels.com I have ever experienced. There was no lift. The air conditioning did not work, hot all night. The bed was terrible! I could not sleep because of these reasons. I did not feel safe with the 2 people at the check in/check out desk. Will never go back.

Room was facing the side of the hotel where refuse collections occurred in the early hours of each morning approx from 12am through to 3am onwards. There was no view per say only a small window that opened onto an alleyway where there were homeless washing themselves in the morning.

Great location right across the stress from the beach, and right in the center of shopping and old town. Couldn’t have picked a better location. Service was good - friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was great. Good options of hot and cold.

I received a room that was on level 2 - which you had to get to by a small spiral staircase. Very awkward with luggage. Room was very small and ceiling height very low. I am 4’11” and I could touch the ceiling. Almost too tall for the shower so anyone of normal height would not fit in this room. Was kinda funny and didn’t bother me but might have get different if I was taller.

Location is excellent with plenty of food and shopping in the vicinity.One thing I found annoying (and it's a pet peeve of mine) is the shower frame/door only covered half the length of the shower, meaning water would splash out of the uncovered part, leading to a pool of water after every shower.

Staff was nice. The room we originally got the tub would not drain after a shower so they did move us into another room. The rooms here are extremely small. It’s a spiral staircase to get to the bed in a loft which would be a problem for someone tall-a very low ceiling. Bathroom is also hard to maneuver in. Good location though.

Rooms are super tiny and are very old and smelly. However the worst of all was the poor ventilation and air conditioning in the room. AC was so hot even though it was put on the lowest temp setting for hours. This made it unbearable to stay in the room specially after a long hot day out in Nice and sleeping was a tragedy in such heat and smell. Moreover, there was no elevator to the second floor and no one to help with the heavy luggage to our rooms on the 2nd floor. With that said, it is worth mentioning that the hotel is well located between the beach and old town but your money is better spent somewhere else.

Great location and great staff. Our only compliant is that the a/c did not work really well and the shower is not designed well. When we complained to the front desk they promptly provided a fan which helped a lot with the a/c. Overall the stay was positive.

Quaint, Location, Good for Sleeping.

The location of the property is fantastic. The staff INCREDIBLE and so friendly and helpful. The Air Conditioner was not strong enough to handle the space. The room quaint, but so tight as to not allow 2 people to occupy the same space other than in the bed.

Great location and great value

This is a great hotel with good value. It is located in the heart of all the action from beaches to shopping to restaurants. The best part of the hotel is the amazing staff, they are professional and accommodating. I was a bit under the weather and they were kind enough to extend my check out for an additional two hours so I can rest. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Nice!

Perfect location and friendly staff

Great location, although limited area for taxis or ride share drop off / pick up. Convenient to promenade, old town. Very friendly staff. Only con was air conditioner setting only went down to 19c; on very hot day would appreciate ability to set a couple notches lower as circulation of cold air in room not very thorough. Would recommend hotel for sure.

Can’t find anywhere else worse than this hotel

They don’t solve the problem of broken AC, but give different excuses from different staffs, one goes “we will fix tomorrow, it’s temporary!”, another says “Its always like that, but only just that room. Unfortunately, we are fully book, that’s only one we can offer. I’m mad with the management as well, maybe you can complaint and get refund from the front desk when you checkout.” And so on... anyways, the bad condition and uncleanliness made me throw up four times. I should have paid extra and go somewhere else.

The building and rooms looked a lot different in the pictures then in reality. It was clean and in the middle of all the action. Which can be good and bad. Happened to be quite loud the night I stayed since there was a music festival nearby.

Lovely hotel and staffs very friendly! We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel just right across from the beachfront and few minutes walk to old town market and restaurants. Great location for everything! Highly recommended this hotel and will definitely come back and stay here again.

First let me say that this place was spotlessly clean and the people were professional, but this is a 4-star hotel like I am a Pro football player. (I'm 5' 6\" , 160 lbs.) Be warned half the rooms here have a small spiral staircase to access the bed from the sitting area. This may be quaint, but dangerous for anyone with movement difficulties. I didn't see anything about this on the Orbitz site. It needs to be mentioned prominently.
