Excellent location. This not a 4 star by usual standards but a 3 star. Choose this hotel for location - close to lots of restaurants and the promenade. Our room was bigger than most hotel rooms in the area and bed was very good. Overall we were happy w our choice.

This hotel is conveniently located and feels safe. It’s a place to rest your head at night, but that’s about it. No amenities, nothing to really want to make you spend any amount of time at the hotel. They don’t provide any toiletry items - shampoo, condition, soap - so if you’re going here, make sure to bring your own.

The Mercure hotel is immediately on the seafront and close to both Central Nice and the amazing Old Town.
An easy 20 minute drive from the airport. Double check that your transfer driver takes you to the right one, ours didn't!
The hotel is clean and well maintained, rooms are well appointed with en suite and walk in shower.
WARNING - We booked a room with a balcony there are balconies but not wide enough to sit out on safely and no patio furniture.
Breakfast is very good with some typical European Breakfast dishes such as roast potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli? But great selection of cereals, cold meats and cheese, and cook your own eggs facility.
The one down side is no sitting out areas, no facilities, no bar facilities, but you walk out straight to bars and restaurants.
The location is its big selling point - would definitely consider a return visit

Hotel is in a perfect location. Not exactly a luxury hotel but nice enough for what it's intended for, a place to sleep. It could use some cosmetics and updated but as mentioned before, for me it's a place to sleep. The rate does not seem like a good value however, compared to other hotels in the area it was on par. I would probably stay there again.

Location, staff, catering all excellent. Quality of room was so bad plaster and pain peeling off cieling snd really shoddy finish over old paint work. Requires a whole renovation to get up to date. If this was an old period property this might be understandable and might even add to the charm, but its not its a modern building with no character so for it to be so out of shape was a total shock and big disappointment. Rarely will i write a poor review especially after staff and service was excellent but its only right that others know ehat they are yo expect.

Perfect location and the staff was very helpful. Bed was confortable and the room was so spacious. The cleanliness of the room was great but there was a bit of mildew in the tub (although this is typical of hot and humid locations) so it wasn’t a huge concern. Besides that the bathroom was very clean. Again, the bed was very confortable and the view + balcony was amazing. The location is close to a bus stop if you are taking public transportation from the airport and again the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Disappointing stay at the Mercure. Room photos were deceptive - we booked a privilege, ocean view, garden. It promises a balcony - there was no balcony you can sit on or even really move around on due to two sets of double glazing. The balcony is effectively about 15 inches wide. Bathroom was good, pillows awful, decoration depressing.
The public areas are tired including the foyer, lifts etc. The immediate surroundings are shabby. There were regularly homeless people
by the doors and opposite, litter and discarded drinks all down the street.
To cap it off, there were a series of concerts in an adjoining park on all 3 nights. The bass literally shook the windows of the room (despite two sets of glazing) and went on each night until just after midnight.
I wouldn’t stay here again, or recommend it - it’s close to the beach and walkable to town but that’s about it. They don’t have to try too hard, so they don’t.

I reserved a premium room and I got a nasty smelly room instead and I went to the receptionists about it, they said that they were out of those rooms and it is first come, first serve thingy so I asked for my money back and they said to contact Expedia. Beside the location , you can find a better facility for the same amount of money. Just try something different else.

LIKE : great location with view of and 2 minutes walk to Promenade des Anglais. near restaurants, grocers, etc.
-10 min. walk to Vieux Nice
- clean : maid service every day, but sheets changed only on request
- nice bright room and quiet
- staff pleasant
- good shower
- fresh water always available in hall cooler

DISLIKE - no safety bars in shower
- table in room was too wobbly to use
- uncomfortable chair in room

OVERALL - I would stay here again.

The Hotel is in great location. The lifts are old and paint from walls is coming off outside the lift. The room balcony door is only 1 foot open and balcony is dirty.

The Breakfast was amazing with a view of the sea and promenade. I would stay here again. Very close to teh restaurants.

I thought the people at reception were lovely and welcoming as well as helpful. The view from the room was stunning and the bed was large and comfortable. My real issue was the fact that the loo just had a sliding door— unsealed, the wash basin was in the room as was the shower. OK for a young couple but the lack of privacy would be difficult for friends or couples who don’t know each other too well.

The staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant. I was traveling with my elderly mom; we were not originally in a handicap room and my mom had trouble balancing in the narrow tub/shower combo. The staff were able to switch us to a handicap room for the balance of our stay.

We stayed for a week and was very enjoyable. Location was excellent being able to have views of the Mediterranean while having great breakfast each day. Access to many restaurants near by, old Nice, Esplanade d’Anglaise, train station, airport and many of the attractions that makes Nice famous. We definitely would stay again if visiting.

We paid for a non smoking room but were given a room that smelled like smoke. When we asked the staff for help we were met with excuse after excuse, and when talking to the cleaning staff they said, “we cleaned the room in the morning, we don’t have to clean it again. We don’t want to.” Overall it was a horrible experience.

Disappointingly rundown and scruffy and in need of real renovation. The corridors and room smelt of musty carpet and everything needed painting. The room was not sound proofed and i could hear every word if the people in the next room who woke me at night and at 6.20am. Two lights in the bathroom did nit work, the toilet seat didn't fit properly and there was no body lotion but two hair conditioners. So nothing is checked. Front desk staff were nice and helpful and location is good but this is a very poor grade 4* and for what i paid I could have stayed in a much better hotel.

Hotel is in a great location. Has everything a four-star hotel should have. The only thing that lets it down is the lack of staorage space in the room. It was difficult for two people to unpack - no real shelves to use and only 4 hangers. Ended up putting everything on the floor.

Great location. However,the hotel is not exactly as it is portrayed on the site. It is only 4 floors & located on the side of a large hotel that faces the ocean. We were on floor 2 & our room was half way subterranean. The bottom of the window at the back of our bed was on the level of the ground looking inward towards Astro turf & other buildings. It almost felt like a hospital situation. The rooms were clean & the beds comfortable. The staff was not very friendly & offered no help on what was available in the hotel or the area.

This hotel is perfectly located. Directly across from the beach on promenade des Anglais, and literally a one minute walk to the pedestrian walkways that lead to the Plaza Massena, Cours Saleya and Old Town. Staff were super friendly and informative providing awesome recommendations for restaurants, places to see and things to do. Would highly recommend staying here.

I would rate this hotel a 4 star if the air conditioning worked properly.It appears they have a set temperature in all rooms and you can only control the fan.
It gets very warm in the room, especially at night.
Very difficult to sleep at night. I called the front desk to inquire about the temperature setting, and I was informed that there is nothing they could do.
As such, i’m rating it a 2-3 star.

Excellent position, but hotel needs a little tlc

This Mercure is in an excellent position for the beach and old town. Many buses stop close by. The decor was a little dated in places although it was clean. Work was being done on the outside of the building [belonging to another hotel/casino] which gave us a disappointed feeling when we arrived. Even though it is very close to the Prom des Anglais, for the price I expected more facilities. Can't comment on hotel breakfast as we didn't have any.

Terrible place to stay even if location is good.

Staff we terrible at check in. Very rude. The rooms are dated and not kept very clean. The housekeeing staf did not clean the rooms properly every day. Missed putting towels and replenishing tea or coffee. The air-conditioning did not work. Generally all front office and housekeeping staff were unpleasant and had very little customer service.

We forgot our identity documents in the safe and called the hotel as we were still in the area. And they told us that they did not find them in the safe. So we went back to the property and they had found our documents. But said they could not say over the phone as it was company policy.

Location is fantastic, we are at the center of the Prom. Des Anglais, and the sea view is as expected. The parking entrance was a bit difficult to find, we had to drive a round 2 circles due to the single lane to find the entrance. The parking has direct access to the hotel but only with stairs not elevator! If you have large luggage you still need to take the street exit and go around the corner to the hotel(which is not far). But we wish we know that earlier since we spend 5 minutes in the garage looking for access for Mercure then realize we still need to take the street exit which was right beside where we park. Other bummer is that I wish the hotel would be able to give us temporary parking pass to go in and out during the day so we don’t need to pay each time we leave garage(we stayed at another 4-star hotel in Cannes for one night and they offered that) but they didn’t have that unfortunately. The soft drinks in the mini bar was all free which was nice. But I was surprise that no bottle water was supplied. And no vanity set/nails kit/shower cap in the washroom, which those are the minimum I was expecting a 4-star hotel to supply.
