Oh dear..

Terrible room. Black mould in the bathroom, carpet stained, towels with holes in them. Very gross. No elevator. No parking in the area, apart from very expensive multi storey (about €50/day). Very friendly staff though.

The hotel is a little tad dated & needs some money spent on renovating it. As well the air conditioning wasn’t working fully. It wasn’t hot but still it didn’t seem to send out cool air when I tried a few times to get my room cool. Great location.

Karin was very helpful but the room was tiny, the shower was so tiny and it did not drain well. The was a pot for hot water and a couple of packs of sugar but nothing else. No elevator and very narrow stairs.

Thevhotel is in a good location so that will push the price up a bit. I stayed for 6 days and only had room service in once. It seemed like they were on skeleton staff. There was also a lot of shouting. Again, the location is good though.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights, and it was great! I think it was such a great value for the price we paid to be able to be so close to everything in old town nice as well as be near the shops, beach, and whatnot. The air conditioning was very good quality as well as a very comfortable bed, so I couldn’t have been happier! They also had great staff that spoke a variety of languages and were extremely helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend.

The room was small but had everything we needed including a kettle which I didn't expect. Air-con worked brilliantly meaning the French doors could be closed at night and the room was then perfectly quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Some reviews of this hotel are are very negative bu tit is certainly value for money. Pay more if you want a modern 5 star hotel. This is a lovely, old traditional French hotel.

Hotel was brilliantly located

This location was fantastic. A short meander to the waterfront and loved being able to dip into the crazy vibrant alleyways and also across to the Latin quarter. So, a big tick for location and also the very friendly staff. Our room was to be honest a bit average, but somehow added to our whole ‘Nice’ experience. Oh, and make sure you grab yourself some of the homemade potato crisps or fries, not often you can rave about something seemingly so mundane but they truely are a triumph!

Book on your own risk!!!!!!!

Unfortunately the reception told me they didn’t receive my fully paid reservation from Hotel.com and I had to drive 200km to another city to find a hotel. My money was taken from my credit card, so basically stolen. Hotel lied about not receiving reservations from Hotel.com. Hotel.com texted me they confirmed ID 22208014963. It means they deliberately did double booking to make more money. That’s unbelievable, they still refuse to give me stolen cash back!!!!!!

Never this hotel again

Good location (which is why I booked it for one night) but for the rest a really bad hotel. Very old style room in purple. Some kind of old rug to use on top of the sheets while sleeping and the corridor very narrow and ugly. Also paint had dropped down in big flakes in the corridor during the night. I assume problem with moist. 1 star max. Bad overall feeling. Will never stay here again.

Not overly impressed with hotel. To be fair we paid a very low price for a last minute room. Tonnes of bugs in the bathroom. The maid tried accessing our room about 4 times in the morning whilst we were lying in bed even thought we kept saying no. This started around 8.45am and we weren't due to check out until 12pm.

Conference stay in Nice

Excellent location (half way between the Acropolis convention centre and seafront) and a good price. Owners and other staff were very friendly and helpful.
Room was a tad small but not a problem as was by myself. Shower also was a little small and the rail was lose and in danger of falling off and could do with repairing.
Wifi was good in the hotel but didn't work so well just outside hotel at the seating area. There is a nice little private roof terrace which was a good place to relax.

Right on the edge of Old Nice

A charming hotel. Parking is off-site in a public garage, the staff were outstanding and the hotel itself was full of charm. There was no elevator, but the desk clerk snatched up my bag and charged up the stairs with it. The restaurant and bar were both good, and the complimentary glass of wine was a treat. Will definitely stay here the next time we're in Nice!

Traditionally French Hotel in heart of old town

Hotel very French. Room quite small but adequate. Could do with some cosmetic update, i.e. lampshades peeling and one of the lamps not working due to a simple lack of a change of a lightbulb. However, the fact that the windows opened out to a lovely little square buzzing with life is what we loved about it. As you leave the hotel you become wrapped up with the brilliant location, the smells of coffee and beautiful food.

Lovely hotel in the old town.

When we arrived we were shown our room and offered a glass of wine. It was lovely to be able to sit outside the hotel and enjoy the sunshine. Our room was small, we had the traditional room, but perfectly adequate for our needs. The beds were really comfortable. There are a few stairs to climb but you soon get used to it. The staff were really helpful and spoke really good English. We only had breakfast once during our stay. There was a huge choice but I can only eat so much in the morning so what I had didn,t warrant the 12.5 euro charge. The hotel serves dinner as well but as we didn,t eat dinner at the hotel I can,t comment on that. I,m really glad I chose this hotel because it felt so homely, and staff all friendly.

Cool hotel in what seems to be a former church in old Nice. Staff was nice and friendly, had some difficulties on check out with the system, but looking at the horrible piece of software that they had to deal with, I think it was understandable. Made it out just in time nonetheless. The room had a nice and thoughtful marine-inspired design. No elevator from what I can tell, I didn't mind that, others might. It's better than quite a few places, but not comparable to the better hotels out there (of course those have the corresponding prices to match too..)

Very, very tiny room, no elevator, mold in shower and on bathroom door. Very narrow stairs as well. Changed my existing reservation to this hotel to save some money, but wish I had not. The 2 people we encountered at the desk were great, but would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Nice hotel in the old town; friendly staff.

Room 208 was somewhat cramped and too close to adjacent 207, so noisy when neighbours entered or left; or the TV was on. Our stay was from 23rd Dec.-to 1st January.
The room was on the 2nd floor, there is no lift; on arrival 23rd, early evening, there was no help available to carry luggage up a very narrow staircase. This was tedious following on our flight & travel from the airport.

The dining arrangement was so- so being too close to the entrance and reception. There is a basement room which is used to host private parties, with disco & dance; on 31st Dec., the music could be heard well after 1.30 a.m.; I had to ask room 207 to turn down the TV volume. As I had a 7 a.m. call.
The proprietors were friendly & invited us to a welcome drink on arrival and on two other occasions.
Prices were somewhat high, i.e. 12 Euros for breakfast.
Reception service was helpful & friendly.

Comfy bed! good shower room,Safe deposit box. No tea making facilities so take your own. We had a major problem with TV, Aircon going down two days into a 7 day holiday. We were informed that the French electric had a power surge and blew all the electrics in the hotel. Last day we received new TV but unfortunately too late for us as we were going home next morning. Did receive a free meal which was a very kind gesture.

Quiet hotel in the old town

The hotel location was a perfect base for visiting the old town, walking east to the harbour area and west to the trendy designer shopping area. The beach is only a short walk through town. Located in a small pedestrian square it also very quiet at night because of no passing traffic and I did not hear the nearby trams at all. There are so many nearby places for breakfast, including the café opposite, which while only offering basic food is full of charm & friendly locals.
The hotel staff are so friendly, helpful and all speak very good English. I stayed 4 nights; my room was at the front, adequate for one person but might be a bit tight for a couple staying more than a few days, no smaller than similar hotels I have used on my previous 2 visits to Nice. My one complaint would be the water pressure which was woeful for a shower (fairly normal unfortunately).
I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and shall definitely stay there again on future visits.

Very loud all night long - first the people outside until after midnight, then they drag in all the tables, then the cleaners come, and then they drag all the tables out again.

Very hot - no air conditioning. Didn't want to open the window due to the aforementioned noise but, given that it was loud even with window closed, I figured I could at least be physically comfortable while I was not able to sleep so opened the ONE window.

The website indicated that the hotel had been recently renovated...our room has definitely not been renovated. The walls had dust on them, the carpet was gross and the bathroom had mold.
It also indicated that the hotel had a shuttle service to the airport. The Shuttle was the city bus! Not impressed.

The hotel was small and in a area where others hang out. The staff accommodate us perfectly. The only thing wrong with the hotel is that they do not have any lifts. Since our room was on the third floor we had to use the stairs everytime to get to the room.

Highly recommended family run hotel - great chef!

Ideally situated on the edge of the old town with wide range of eateries and little shops. Lots of places to visit and browse. Small, traditional hotel which is our preference. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Unusual in our experience for a hotel, the food was excellent - freshly made food at fair price. We didn't have breakfast or lunch as there were so many other places to try nearby.
Great facilities in Nice for all ages including lovely parks and walks. Need to be careful of bags in busy areas. Make sure validate bus tickets in machine on buses or can get fined on the spot!
Note that hotel does not have a lift as an old building. Other than this can't recommend enough if looking for a small, interesting hotel.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights in July 2014. Although there are far better and less expensive places to stay in and around Vieux Nice, our stay was pleasant enough. Until, that is, we came to check out. Upon attempting to check out we were informed that we would be charged for one night for a second room. The hotel claimed that we had booked this additional room but had not shown up and that, generously, they would only charge us for one of the three nights for which they claimed the additional room had been booked. When we asked to see the booking email from Hotels.com we pointed out that is was not intact two bookings, but one booking which had been amended. The hotel did not accept this had we had to pay for the extra night which we had not booked, despite this clearly being and error on the hotel's part to which they were not prepared to admit.

On our arrival home in Singapore, we immediately contacted Hotels.com who assured us they would look into it. One week later we were informed by Hotels.com that the hotel would not be refunding our money as we had booked an additional room for one night.

Therefore, not only had the hotel misunderstood the original booking form, they then blatently changed their story when confronted by Hotels.com.

Such a mendacious lack of integrity in dealing with customers. Do not stay at this hotel. As I said, there are far better, and less expensive, places to stay in and around the beautiful city of Nice.

No elevator and stairway barely big enough. Who rated this hotel a 3 star???Smallest room ever! Saving grace is that we were booked for just 1 night. Got in late and left early. If arriving by train, take the tram to this hotel - tram line is just to the left of the station and it's €1.50pp instead of €20 for taxi to this hotel. Also, be aware of random people offering taxi services in front of the station.

Great location and comfortable beds

The rooms weren't huge, but enough for a weekend and comfortable beds. My only complaint is that the walls were very thin and we were woken by our neighbour's romantic endeavours continuously throughout the weekend. Obviously, the hotel didn't control their behaviour. The location itself was fantastic -- easy walking everywhere. The staff, as mentioned in other reviews, were really friendly and helpful. I would stay here again, just with some earplugs.

This hotel does perfectly what it should.

I spent 6 nights here while attending meetings at the Acropolis meeting center. This hotel is inexpensive, and does not feel in any way luxurious. The corridors are narrow to the rooms, and the stairs are steep. My room was the size of the (large) bed plus one meter in all directions.

But it is perfect: the rooms are quiet, bed comfortable, AC/Heat under your control, a comfortable modern bathroom. My room had windows opening up to the pedestrian street below, so there is a show to watch. There is good WiFi. The continental breakfast is just fine, including the coffee. The folks at the reception are real people, friendly, and helpful. And its location is ideal, making it trivial to stop back by the room to pick up, freshen, drop off, etc.

10 minute walk to beach but small rooms

Situated in Old Nice next to a lot of restaurants and food choices but it is a ten minute walk to the beach. Nice is very expensive so maybe the $170 we paid a night is normal for a very small room, but that was very expensive compared to the rest of France. The room literally went around the king size bed without about a one foot clearance.

Hotel is being redone so hopefully they will expand some of the sizes of their rooms.

We were greeted by the woman with a glass of wine to sip when we arrived. Although the room was very small, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was quite good. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the evening that overlooked the shop and restaurant. The hotel is in old part of Nice and easy to reach by bus from the airport.

Great location but tiny room!

We loved the location of the hotel in the quirky old part of town though it's very tired and our room certainly didn't look like any of the photos (we were in the tiny room 102 and it was a tight squeeze for 2 adults!). The location of the hotel is perfect for all of Nice's main attractions; all are within easy walking reach.

The hotel is easy to access from the airport; you need to get the 98 bus (6 euros each) and get off at the cathedrale vieille ville though on the way back to the airport you need to get on at Lycee Massena. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the drop off.

Personally we didn't have a problem with the noise and in fact the old town seemed quieter than the newer posher part; there was some noise in the morning but nothing out of the ordinary.

A hotel with character working well for business

The room was very compact, but this seemed fair enough for the price paid and the nature of the hotel (an old building with a lot of character). I was on business and it was helpful to have very good internet access (much better than I thought would be the case) included in the price, as well as being within easy walking distance of the Acropolis conference centre. The staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast area could do with being a little larger but they managed well under the circumstance.

Just what we wanted, a small non-chain hotel run by a charming couple who wanted to make our stay as good as possible. Warm welcome, sweet room, everything clean as could be, very good breakfast (although very pricey at 12€). That much we expected. The unexpected touch was a bottle of wine and two glasses + chocolates and a lovely note wishing us a happy Ruby wedding anniversary. It was cold weather and they provided extra heating making our room very cosy. The reception area was lovely and cosy at all times. The hotel's location was really perfect: handy for everywhere and buses etc, yet quiet and tranquil. Will go again.
The e-bookers 'free bottle of wine' promise did not materialise, but we didn't mind!

Great for couples

This is a nice clean family-run hotel in a brilliant location in the heart of the old town of Nice...few mins walk from Cours Saleya, Promenade, Chatuea, Place Massena etc & only 20 min bus ride from the airport. All the staff had excellant english and were extremely helpful. The bedrooms were cleaned every day, had a safety deposit box & air-con.

Downside - Rooms are bit small and there's no lift so probably wouldn't be suitable for families with young children. Also the roof terrace was a bit of a disappointment.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would stay here again.

Great Location, Great Value!

Ideally located at the top end of the Old Town. Loads of restaurants and cafes nearby. Helpful staff at the hotel 24/7. We were in one of the bigger rooms so we had no issues with space but if you did have a couple of bigger bags you may find the smaller rooms a little cramped. We would definitely stay here again!

Nicely located small hotel

A nice little hotel very well located. The staff at the desk is really nice and welcoming.
The hotel itself is a bit old and would need touch ups in the rooms (except for the sanitary which is new).
Rooms are small but confortable anyways if you plan to use the room only for sleeping.
Overall a nice 2 star hotel in Nice.

The Hotel is right in the old town and is perfect for adventuring out. The staff are excellent, really helpful. I was on the 3rd floor, there are no lifts so if you aren't able to climb stairs make sure you get a room lower down. The room was small and the shower tray kept filling up. Overall more positives than negatives.

Utterly charming and friendly

I so enjoyed this charming little traditional hotel. If you are on a budget and want to stay in the colourful old town, close to facilities and sights you can't go wrong. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and there is always someone about. It is tasteful, homely and clean. Some reviewers noted street noise at night but we did not have any trouble. We took one of the smaller doubles and my wife found found the bathroom pokey. Apart from that whatever gremlins there were were trivial and not worth mentioning. You are on the doorstep of cheap eateries, bus and tram stops, pharmacies and a supermarket. We would return and unhesitatingly recommend this little jewel of a hotel.

Well positioned for the Old Town and getting about

The hotel has a warm and friendly atmosphere. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We enjoyed the wholesome breakfast to set us up for the day. The hotel is well positioned on the edge of the Old Town and near all the buses. There is an easy tram ride to the station. It is only a few minutes walk to the flower market and the grand Promenade des Anglais. Very reasonable rates.

Great location, but high price for this quality

A nice simple budget hotel in the center of Vieux Nice. My room was large but dark (small window in an alcove). Usual budget hotel shower stall etc. Clean and neat. Excellent location in Vieux Nice -- but of course no parking in the immediate neighborhood. Price is exorbitant for a simple budget-style hotel like this, though.

We stayed one night between a week in Florence and flying back to Canada. The staff were absolutely first rate, speaking excellent English.The hotel is old and quaint but in excellent repair, with modern bathroom and a/c. \"Quaint\" means the rooms are small, but delightfuly furnished and clean. It also means there is no elevator but the staff are eager to help with bags on the stairs. Buy a decent glass of wine for less than 2 euros and sip it while sitting outside in front of the hotel and enjoy life in Nice.

Beautiful building in old Nice

The building was beautiful, complete with a roof top patio/garden. My room had a small balcony (big enough for a coffee table and 2 chairs) overlooking some markets and restaurants on the narrow street below. The staff spoke English very well and were helpful giving directions. The room was a bit small, but pretty and well furnished. Negatives: there were a few cracks in the walls (understandable for such an old building, I thought it added to the charm), and the shower drained too slowly.

The location is perfect! close to the tram (gets you to the train station), walking distance to beach and right in the middle of the historic district with all of its little shops and markets. Couldn't have loved it more. They gave us a complimentary glass of wine upon arrival.

A very nice hotel!

We stayed one night at Villa la Tour on our vacation along the coast. The staff is VERY nice and welcoming and speaks good english (positive, since we do not speak french). We were offered a welcome drink and enjoyed it on their roof terrace. The location of the hotel is centrally located near \"old-Nice\". The rooms were nice and with AC. The only minus I can give is hat there were no elevator, but this is only to pick. We stayed at four different hotels in Nice at our vacation, but this was definetly the best. We would highly recommend it, and we would stay there again should we go back to Nice. Great value for your money! :) Do not hesitate :) And PS: We did not have the breakfast because we were leaving so early in the morning, but the glips of the breakfast looked quite good. Not only toast and jam ;)

Good location in Old town. Welcome glass of wine to drink outside on square was a pleasant introduction. Staff helpful with taxis and information.Good breakfast. Transfer of heavy bags up narrow staircase was difficult. Small balcony off bedroom was appreciated but not the noisy night revellers.

Villa La Tour

The hotel is situated in the old part of Nice, so therefore the bedrooms were noisy. a bit difficult to sleep, although ear plugs were used. No bottled water in room until we requested and the air conditioner controller was for a different room and didn't work! Both problems were solved by the excellent staff, who also booked restaurants for us. The hotel needs updating and modernising, but was great for exploring the old part of the city.

loved the position of the hotel .Our room 102 was very small and we had noisy traffic early hours of the morning not constant just now and again.The hotel is very quaint and homely and the staff are really friendly and helpfull
my husband and. i would stay here again if we came back to Nice and we had a lovely time.
