This is a very romantic building. Every corner that you see it is art hanging on the walls. I get amazed with the variety of food at the breakfast. Staff were so polite and awesome. 100% recommended.

We complained that there was no bathplug (my wife enjoys bathing) or shower curtain, resulting in the bathroom floor being slippery. There was a stain on the carpet. We were not shown an alternative room. I asked for a quiet room, and we were told that 'all rooms are quiet'. We were then woken by the heavy traffic outside at night. The room was dirty, with poor decor. I don't think I would force a prisoner or a homeless person to stay in this room. Disgusting,

This was a good hotel.
For the price 5 out of 5.
Great location.
Walk to beach, train station although a bit of a hike maybe 2 miles.
From there you can go to Monaco or Cannes or Marseille or Lyon.
Just a 10 minute walk to amazing restaurants.
Literally hundreds of them.
Enjoy the beach.
Everything in walking distance.
Staff was friendly and helpful.

I would like to rate all for excellent, we stayed 3 nights 4 days the receptionists were very nice & friendly. They advised all information to us. We tried the breakfast have pretty good & I recommended to our friends. On the check-out morning it wasn't enough food for the customers, no refill for bread, cold cut, fruits etc. not provide scramble eggs?? until we asked to bring some raw eggs on the table. We have already to pre-order 1 day ahead for our breakfast with the reception. Other Big problem & I'm so embarrass because I high recommended to our friends...??!!

Positive: close to tramway station. Very nice staff. Nice sitting area in the lobby and free hot drink.
Negative: bad smell in the room specially when turned on the air conditioner.
The lift doors between floors so you have to walk up or down few stairs.
Internet connection would automatically log out every now and then.

I stayed here because I was attending a conference at the center across the street. I would think this would be a good business hotel because its not in the tourist area and by the conference center. It was awful! Not good amenities, dated rooms, not very clean, poor internet, AC didn't work well, ONE ironing board in the entire hotel you had to wait in line to use at the reception desk. I would definitely not stay here again.

An excellent budget hotel

I have been staying at this hotel every year for the past 12 years when attending trade shows at the Palais des Congrès Acropolis, and the standard has never slipped. It is a friendly, family-run hotel in a very convenient location for the Acropolis expo centre. It is a 10 minute walk from the center of town and the old port, there are lots of good resaurants and bars nearby and it is convenient for the tram system. As well as business people, I have also met many tourists who stay there because given its location and price per room, it makes good sense for peoplle visiting Nice on a budget who want a good standard of accommodation.

A mixed bag

Great location, 10 mins from old town and the Nice Riquier train station. Rooms are quite small - ok for a couple of days tho.
Our shower didn’t work very well first morning but was fixed without question by the evening.
However, the sound proofing is terrible. If you are a light sleeper this hotel isn’t for you - we could hear people above (heavy feet) in the corridor (laughing/shouting at 2am) and next door (eugh being sick again at 2 am!).

The room smelled like smoke. The bathroom was terribly old and out dated . The shower water pressure was a joke. The room was small. If u looked at the small details around the property you could see things falling apart. This hotel is trying to look modern but is failing at it. The location is far from the beach and old town.

Planning a return visit

We had booked this hotel as a short break with 4 other friends but unfortunately we could not travel due to a medical emergency the week before we were due to travel. Our friends still travelled to the hotel & were very impressed at the value for money the hotel provided. They said it was much better than they had expected finding it to be very pleasant as well as being ideally located near to a tram stop & a short walk to the old town & beach. They were so pleased with the quality of the hotel they are planning on making a return visit for when my partner is fully fit & able to fly again

- Rooms can be improved by some sound proof solutions.
- The breakfast area was too small for the number of occupants. At least 10 more chairs is needed!
- Some of the food options were not available arounf 9:30 onwards and kitchen staff seemd not to bother filling them up. I think if the breakfast is scheduled from 6:00-10:30, all the food options must be available during this time slot.
- The water for making tea was cold and not hot.
- The breakfast options can be added as €12 is not cheap!

Made to feel at home in Nice

A really friendly hotel where the staff try their best to make you feel very much at home. A real find! It's less than 5 minutes from Acropolis tram stop and so very well situated. My guess is that prices will vary a lot depending on whether there is a conference on in the nearby conference centre (for which it is very handy).

excellent value, good standard, clean, comfortable, would stay again ... negatives were the cleaner expecting to clean room by noon every day, she would knock the door from 11am even with ‘do not disturb’ on ... unfortunately on my floor there were business colleagues in and out of each other’s rooms and the doors beep if not shut properly so ended up being disturbed quite a lot

Nice hotel close to old town

The hotel is very close to the absolutely charming old town where a lot of restaurants and shops are located, also close to a great (free!)parking space , lots of supermarkets and cafes. Public transport in the form of buses and tramn are a stone throw away.

Absolutely Loved our 5 days in Nice at the Relais

We had a wonderful 5 days in and around Nice. We went to st Paul de Vence, Vence one day, to Menton and Monaco another. We took the Hop on hop off bus one day,and of course visited Old Town. We also took a really cool 15 Euro round trip on the train up to a little village in the Alps Maritime called Tende. Highly recommend it. Audrey at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

We have just returned from a fabulous weekend in Nice. The hotel relais was excellent value for money, rooms a little bit in the small side but clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful in recommending places to see and eat. The location was perfect - we walked everywhere. The only downside to the hotel was there was no bar.

Good for the money

It was one of the cheapest hotels we found and it's OK for the price. The reception us very modernly reformed, but the rooms aren't. We had difficulty to access our luggage because the area around the bed was so narrow, and there wasn't any other place to leave them.
WiFi is free and we didn't have problems with it.
Even with an small Elevator you have to climb some stairs, so wheelchairs would have some issues.
For one night or two it's very acceptable. More than that I wouldn't recommend.

When we arrived we were told that the air conditioning was broken and there seemed some doubt about when it would be repaired. We were offered a fan but that was not effective. I called Expedia who transferred us to another hotel and picked up the balance. Top marks to Expedia.

Really enjoyed our stay, and rooms were very clean however the cleaner often didn't clean the room and we found ourselves ringing reception for several things the cleaners didn't replace ( fresh towels, toilet roll etc). Reception staff extremely friendly and helpful and hotel very modern. However it's location is slightly out of the way of the old town or the beach but there is a tram that runs at the back of the hotel which is perfect and brings you straight to the centre of Nice. Would defiantly stay again!

Usual Nice prob: hotel fine, neighbours aren't

The only time I've ever had to check out of a hotel a day early because of noise. This is a nice modern hotel, minutes from the centre, but you can hear everything in the adjoining rooms. Fine if you have a considerate neighbour, but many in Nice aren't. I feel a bit bad leaving a negative review when it's the guests, not the hotel, but I was glad to leave.

Good base for exploring Nice and the local area.

I enjoyed my stay at the Relais Acropolis, which is a stylish b & b. Staff friendly and informative, especially those on reception. I chose the hotel through Expedia and was not disappointed, although I did not initially realise that I had to go out for an evening meal. This is an area with good shopping facilities and a wide range of bars and restaurants. Good communications network with easy access to the trams and buses.. Only a short walk to Place Garibaldi for the airport bus and a number of restaurants and shops. Old Nice was a delight with its range of African shops and cafes reminiscent of Marrakech, antique shops and markets selling fresh fruit and flowers. Nice is a city right on the Mediterranean with grand boulevards as well as museums, churches and a number of tree lined squares, backed by hills. Shame I only saw them once or twice when the November rain had stopped for a while. May be best to visit again in the spring or early summer.

We arrived at 11 in the morning and despite the advertised 3pm check in we were given a room straight away.The staff were very welcoming and helpful.Our room was the normal Travelodge size but other rooms seemed a lot smaller.The walls were quite thin as we could hear the people next door talking but all the guests were civilized and kept sensible hours so we were not disturbed.There was traffic noise outside but the double glazing was effective and there was airconditioning so there was nothing to complain about.

The only problem with this hotel was the lack of a shower curtain, because the water splashed everywhere; and the bathroom was practically a swimming pool after our shower. It didn't how careful we were while showering. It didn't help.

Nice hotel but need maintenance

The hotel is about 10 min walk from the old town, and the tram is a few step away, which takes you to nice center and near the beach. The staff was polite, but when we arrived by car we were told we couldn't park at the door for just 5 mim to unload the suitcases. The nearest car park was about 10 min walk away, and it was a bit rude to make us walk all those blocks with the suitcases, we complain and at the end we were allowed to unload the suitcases.
Regarding the room, it was small but ok for two nights, the bed was very comfortable. The carpet was dirty, but the walls were freshly painted and the bathroom clean. The bathroom sink didn't drain properly and every time we opened the tap we have to close it quickly, so it wouldn't flood. It was a bit disgusting, specially every time we had to clean our teeth. Another thing was that they only provided soap and shampoo the first day, and the second day we had no shampoo or soap. Its a nice hotel, renovated and clean, but need maintenance and attention to detail.

Budget hotel

When first arriving at the hotel we had a very warm welcome by a lovely lady (I wish I got her name she had very short hair and was in her 50s) she offered us a drink of juice and helped us to organise our belongings before giving us directions into the town. Some of the other staff however were very unpleasant!!a young girl named Florence who was quite unprofessional in her manner in dealing with me and other family members. Anything we asked her seemed to be a lot of hassle and trouble to her and she made that very obvious to the point of being rude!!. As the 'front of house' and the first person you meet when coming to stay in a hotel she most certainly was not the best person for this role and really let the hotel down and because of her and some of the other members of reception (another lady with dark hair late 30s/40-again who was rude and not very helpful) I would not stay here again or recommend the hotel. The rooms were clean but very small. The tram is close to the hotel which takes you in to town which is an advantage.

Fantastic customer service. Locked room for leaving bags before check-in and after check-out. Room was on the small side, but really nice inside. I only use my hotel room for sleeping, so I'm not complaining about it. It was big enough for comfort. I would recommend anyone stay here. Convenient location to everything in Old Town Nice.

Nice room but bathroom needs update

The location of the hotel is great - right by the tram line. Walkable to the Promenade, if you like walking (I suggest buying a tram 24 hour pass) The bedroom is very nice and clean, with a comfortable bed. A cute balcony looks out onto the city. The bathroom needs an update - the mirror was very stained and the bathroom smelled like mold.

Nice hotel - limited facilities

A clean & stylish hotel right opposite the convention centre. An easy walk to the promenade and old town for restaurants. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room which was disappointing and a rather basic breakfast. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and I would recommend the Relais for a business trip.

I have stayed here twice. Both times service was excellent. Rooms are small but well equipped and beds are comfortable. There is some wear to the rooms, but they are clean. Road noise is always present, but it's part of the city life. Both stays, I got a good rate for Nice.

Not impressed with this one. Room was tiny, staff was unhelpful, and it was far away from everything in Nice. Hotel has no parking and we were directed to a parking garage several blocks away that charged 20 Euros per day. Wall were thin so we could hear conversations in adjacent rooms. Bathroom was not especially clean. Rooms did not have safes and they charged if you asked to leave valuables at the front desk. Wifi was super annoying--you have to reenter the password every time you close your browser or phone (even if it's only for a minute) and the connection was not very fast. Elevator stops between floors so you need to schlep your luggage up some stairs even when you take the (tiny) elevator. They didn't even give us a new soap or toilet paper when they cleaned out room when ours was almost completely gone. The one redeeming feature was the bed -- it had a memory foam mattress and quite comfortable.

Arrived at 2pm and was told to come back later as their rooms are strictly not available until 2.30pm? Room then turned out to be extremely small, smallest double hotel room I have ever stayed and I have stayed in probably over 100 hotels. Unpleasent smell to the room also. I did not bother to complain as no one seemed to want to speak very good english and only used the room to sleep in. A 3 star hotel at the very best. Perhaps there are bigger rooms and we were unlucky? Will stay in nearby 4 star Novotel next time and pay the extra small premium to do so. Parking only available at nearby multi-story carpark and quite expensive, 25 euros per day. I recommend that you do park there, though as anywhere else and your car will be bumped and bashed as I witnessed to others many times during my 3 day stay in Nice

The hotel room was clean, comfortable and modern and worth its value for the rate paid (except the price of breakfast was steep for the limited variety of food available). The hotel staff were polite and friendly. The major negative of this hotel was the noise level-unfortunately street traffic could be heard very distinctly which was a bit of a distraction. However- the bathroom was terrific, best hot shower (temperature and water pressure) I've had in Europe so far.

If you like to walk to the around shops, they are close. The beach and marina is a longer walk about 20 or 30 minuets but ok. The old town is great for dining and cute shops in the daytime. Will certainly stay at this hotel again.

Great Stay!

We spent a week here and found it very good for a 3 star hotel. It was very clean, spacious rooms and very helpful staff - only downfall is that the air conditioning isn't the greatest and it's not very baby friendly so if you have young babies this may not be the place for you!

We have a 9 month baby - there is a lift to the floors BUT for some strange reason the lift stops in between floor levels so you still need to go up or down about 10 steps to get to your floor - not convenient with a buggy! Saying that, the Manager did offer a locked room downstairs to keep the buggy but this means unloading at reception and dragging everything up to your to your room!

Also the rooms do not have a kettle so to make the baby formulas we had to keep going down to the hotels kitchen - not fun in the middle of the night!

That aside we had an amazing stay as its in a great location - easy to get everywhere as the tram stops 5 mins away - would defiantly stay again if we didn't have the baby with us!

Very pleased

I wasn't clear of the location from the site, but it was perfectly rested near the historical/old town area/district, with some great local eating options. The staff/manager was friendly and quite accommodating. Definitely recommend this hotel.

OK hotel

Fine hotel for overnight stay if you want to enjoy the city, close to the center, shared bikes few meters from the hotel. Only one thing - in case you have a noisy neighbors in the hotel, you may benefit from ear plugs, the walls are rather thin. Hotel staff nice and helpful.

Cosy with a helpful staff

The room was clean and very nice, I have no complaints regarding the service either. Admittedly, the receptionist was polite and helpful but sadly not present in the early hours on the day I had to leave. It did not cause a problem since I was able to get in touch with the hotel and got a reply soon afterwards which reassured me greatly. The hotel was well situated, so any outside noise did not disturb me that much, something I really appreciated.

small but well formed - ideal for cosy couples

Three star hotel but i've stayed in worse 4 star hotels. Bath tub a bit small, water a bit hard but that could be South of France in general! Jerome on reception was a legend, speaking near perfect English and very helpful. There's a McDonalds round the corner as well as tram station and bus stop. Very well connected.

Excellent hotel for the price. Rooms small but ok. The only drawback is the traffic noise in the day, but not too bad at night. One word of warning - if you ask the hotel to phone you a taxi make sure you get a price. Taxi to hotel from outside the airport in Nice was 28 euros. One to the airport charged us 49 euros. Not sure if this is correct but when we questioned it he reduced it to 45!

Good hotel in Nice

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast was fairly standard for Europe. The walls are quite thin so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The person in the room next to me decided to make a lot of noise at 1:30am so I could what was being said and clearly hear the shower. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and there are a couple of supermarkets as well.

Great value for money

It was a lovely hotel - we stayed 3 nights. Comfortable rooms, good location, friendly staff, and great value for money. Our room was at the front of the hotel, and there was a lot of traffic noise, but that's the only niggle. We would recommend! Oh, and for a great lunch, try the restaurant next door to the L'Orpac (on the same side of the road as the hotel, about 1 minute walk towards centre ville), and order the plat du jour.
