good points are that it is located close to a tram station, and the staff is efficient and welcoming. On the other hand - (twin) beds very narrow, rooms on street side are noisy (windows far from soundproof), general aspect is "cheap". I called the day before to make sure they would have a car park - at check in they told me the car park was full... not confident to park in the street in those suburbs surroundings...

The property condition is what you pay for, I have no issue with that, the thing that upsets me is the inconsiderate staff during check in, we arrived early and was too tired after walking around so we decided to rest at the lobby for hours, check in was 4pm at 3:55 pm I asked if we can check in and the receptionist said no because she’s not done on whatever she’s doing in the computer at 3:45 a french speaking family came and she checked them in first at exactly 4pm before she checked us in.

When we got to the hotel they charged us an extra 12 euros for parking.
The sofa bed was not set up. The bedding was not clean as i found hairs on the sofa bed bedding.

Kind of odd. We have arrived at 10 pm, but we have entered the room at 12 am, because the door lock had a problem and we have waited the technician to come and open the door.
No AC, I think this was a huge problem. Not that clean, the bathroom had no windows or a fan.
The sofa had some weird noise when moving and the pillows where not sleeping pillows, just for design.

Uncomfortable bed, dirty towels, broken window, holes on the curtains, broken hair dryer, thats just few disappointing things. We stayed for 8 days, and there was no cleaning at all, even no toilet paper, we had to buy some.

Go for it

Appart'City type hotels have already been my first choice as you have everything inside your room refrigerator, oven, and induction, cutlery, etc to cook and to keep your stuff. It's like a homestay. Also, the prices are low. Go for it. You may need to ask to turn on the main AC switch beforehand at reception before entering to the room.

Very poor bathroom cleanliness . Fowl smell from the bathroom. Depaite repeated attempts to inform the reception no steps were taken to clean it or change our room. I was very displeased by behaviour shown by the receptionist in the lounge. I am going to speak to the general manager soon listing all the complaints .

transport to nice centre was good with the tram service,it was difficult to get directions ,the people i asked in the aera i was looking did not seem to know there own aera and were not helpfull.i asked a lady working in reception about a bus to grasse she told i could get the bus behind the appartment ,i went and the bus driver lady explained i would have to gow to nice town centre i was so disapointed i just gave up,i would never gow back to nice again. the french people make no effort to speak english,i think because we speak english they think we are english,but are are irish and suffered persecuation under the english conquest for 800 years.if we treated our tourist in ireland with contempt the tourism buisness would be gone,i have worked in ireland for many years in the tourism industry and we treated every one equal with a hundred thousand welcomes,

Staff were very good and helpful. However, room was dirty as was the bathroom (weird smell in the kitchen). Pictures on the website do not match at all with the accommodation in any way. Air con worked, however was not adjustable. Rooms not cleaned daily or tidied but location was good for easily getting into the town (tram stop very close). Wouldn't recommend it.

Nightmare stay

Staff very pleasant and accomadating but are fighting against a poor quality building,

On arrival the door to our appartmant ( I use their discription) small hotel room , didn’t fit properly so to open or close needed two people , we requested to move but no other rooms available . The next morning another guest was complaining of the same problem .
We were given complementary parking for the inconvience.
Room very small so put our suit case on he table , during the night the air con that hadn’t worked dripped into our suitcase soaking all our clothes, reception were very good and washed and dried everything lucky we were not flying till 4 pm our clothes were handed in at reception at 8.30 and only ready to collect at 12.45. We were given a free extension on our room . On leaving and handing in all keys we found ourselves locked in the car park , having to call for help through locked gates , reception were not answering the phone , there was no call button , the lift back to reception could only be operated by a key we no longer had , eventually another car owner arrived to park so we escaped just in time to get our flight .

The major problem I had was was there for 5 nites and the trash was never pulled, my room was never serviced and only when ask on second day did I get a new set of towels. Maybe I missed a communication about these features were the way it is in a apt hotel. The employees were very nice and competent

Lovely resort for an Autumnal Break

This hotel is very easy to get to by public transport. The tram stop is just a short two minute walk form the hotel. The rooms are currently being refurbished to improve their standard. I had a basic studio flat with small kitchenette, comprising microwave, two ring electric hob and fridge. I was concerned that there was no kettle, but staff quickly resolved this. Lisa on reception desk was always very helpful and informative.
This hotel is just a short 15 minute walk to the Promenade des Anglais or you can use the tram. I opted to walk most days as I enjoyed walking along and sometimes stopping for a coffee in a cafe.
The hotel is also a short 7 minute walk away from Nice Riquet SNCF and from there you can get trains to Monaco (6.60 euro return) Esze and Cannes ( 15 euro return) or into San Remo in Italy.
Overall a good base for the holiday. The only thing missing in reality was a balcony to enjoy the lovely autumnal evenings.

The place is a total mess. An old run down student campus(may be still is) building mainly used by drunken single men in a very rough area of nice The photo displayed by Expedia is totally misleading. we never ever stayed in a dirty,stinky like we experienced in Nice. It was horrible. We could hardly touch and use anything in the room. The carpet was extremely dirty and stinky. The smell in the bath room was horrible. From the entrance to our room in the 2nd floor we could not see a piece of clean carpet. As a Expedia royal customer we never expected this kind of garbage. We were very lucky to have a friend staying close to the water to accommodate us for one night(last night of our stay).To go and get the car on the checking day was our best part of our stay. I will contact Expedia for a full refund without any doubt.

ApartCity position is comfortable, 20min walk to the sea front. Room is nothing like on the picture, but has all you need for short stay. Bed is very comfortable and we actually was sleeping well, despite the noise from the tram and road cleaners. Stuff was great.

It's a cheap hotel in a decent location. The room was dirty, the carpet looked like it had never been cleaned, the beds were uncomfortable, we had one pillow each, one toilet roll between us for three nights! The room smelt of stale smoke despite it being a non smoking room and we had to empty the bins ourselves when we left because if we didn't we would have received a charge! The staff were friendly enough and it was next to the tram stop but they are the only positives. This is the first bad review I have done for a hotel because I always look for the positives but this hotel really needs a complete refurbish or just a big spring clean!

The hotel was not at all how it was described online and how the pcitures showed . The room that was given to us was not the one that was described . The whole experience was awful the staff was rude and terrible. We were in our room for 20 mins and had to leave because the room was horrible . The room had mold, there was a water heater in the closet , which I found very very wired . The restroom shower floor was connected to the whole restroom floor . It was just a really bad hotel and would not recommend this hotel to anyone !

We arrived late and were very disappointed. The hotel is very difficult to get to by car. The rooms are old and ours smelled of smoke. The Windows had no safety catches although we had booked a room for children and the smoke alarm battery was running out. We moved to another room where we suspected the sofa bed linen had not been changed. The one saving grace was the helpful night manager who did his best to help. The morning staff were also friendly and helpful.

Has apartment amenities such as refrigerator, microwave, sink, and stove. Good to cook quick meals. Grocery stores open 7 days a week are few feet/meters away. tram stop and bus stop are right across making it easy to get around. Parking and breakfast are available at a surcharge. The staff was welcoming and assistant except for Christina, she was snobby and useless. One important thing. If you want the room cleaned or towels changed you must pay extra. Trash you have to take out yourself and get a trash bag replacement at the counter. Toilet paper is free but you must get one each time you need a replacement. Overall, the place it's nice for the price. I would consider using this chain at other locations in France.

On entry to the room the carpet was filthy. The Bedroom net curtains were half pulled off the rail. The main lights in the bathroom didn't work and there was no soap in the shower soap dispenser. Other than that the rooms and furnishings were spacious and comfortable. The wifi worked.

The hotel has potential but has not been properly cleaned. The carpets are stained and dirty. The bathroom floor should be scrubbed. The air conditioning inlets are dirty. On entering the hotel at night a rat in the entrance ran to a gap in the skirting board.

I found the hotel relatively quite, the first room I was allocated had a broken wash basin, so I requested to be moved to another room, which seemed better, with neat beds, a wardrobe and TV, the bathroom was also terrible, it looked like it was not cleaned for years as the floor was damp and stained everywhere, even after paying the room cleaning service charge of 7 euros to get it cleaned, it only looked slightly cleaner. The location is mediocre as I was told by the taxi driver it was in the north part of town, he probably implied it was a rougher area than the south.

Nothing wrong with the hotel. Don't expect luxury, just good modern accommodation. Roomy bathrm. Self housekeeping,but you can always replace towels. Cooking facilities quite adequate, located near two very reasonably priced grocery stores. Location amazing, tramstop around the corner. Buy a seven day pass @ the airport, and it's good on tram and all city buses. Front staff knowledgeable and helpful, but very strict on 3 p.m checkin. 3 star rating very accurate.

We stayed at this hotel because it was close to the university where I was attending a conference, although the neighbourhood doesn't look good at all.
But the hotel was better and the room was cleaner than what we were expecting by reading the reviews. The toilet could have been cleaner though.
We were on the first floor and wifi was available for free! We used the parking (around 10€/day) and it was very secure! I don't think if any free and safe parking could be found around..
We could borrow an iron from the reception and keep it during our stay.

Cheap but I've been to better hotels with comparable prices. Overall not bad, but one receptionist made everything so unpleasant. Our "bundle of joy", as we called her, seemed like she thought she was making you a great favour by just being at the reception. She treated everyone not like clients but like pests. She needs fired maybe then the overall experience would be better.

A reccommended stay

Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised with the room and hotel. the gentleman that checked us in was friendly and helpful and showed us where abouts we were from the centre. from previous reviews i thought the place would be really out in the sticks but actually its about a 10 minute walk to all the dinky ally ways filled with boutiques and quant eateries. For the price we paid, this was a steal, with everything we could want already in the room. Would definitely consider staying again if i did another trip like it.

Bathroom lights did not work and the toilet seat was loose. No batteries in the remote control. Overall an ok place for a night or two. Location street car stop was just around the corner (Vauban station), which takes you quickly to the center of town or the beach.

After a long day of travel we arrived at the residence and were honesty disappointed with the room. Check in was fine and the front end staff was helpful. There seemed to be a lack of security however as one could walk in from the front straight to the ground floor rooms.

When we walked into our room there were bugs crawling around in the kitchen even though the kitchen appeared clean. The carpets were stained throughout the flat and the couch had various stains and burn marks on it.

We were not concerned about the neighbourhood and appreciated the proximity to the tram line.

The parking underground however was also flooded in the area we were supposed to park in.

Well priced for Nice!

The accommodation is slightly away from the centre of Nice. The closer you get to the 'Hotel', the more you begin to feel as though you are in the city outskirts (perhaps not the most idyllic areas of Nice). The tram makes the appart city easily accessible and saves you a 20+ minute walk into the centre.
The room was fairly clean however there were some stains on the carpet/walls.
The rooms are basic but adequate. The receptionist who welcomed me and my partner gave us very little information. I did however, overhear the other receptionists being more helpful to other customers. Overall, I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a comparatively cheap deal in Nice. We paid half what we would have anywhere else by booking appart city- even the hostels in Nice are pricey!
You get a very basic kitchenette which is useful too!

Clean and Comfortable

We stayed 2 nights at Appart a city Nice. The apartment was clean, the bed comfortable and sufficient space to move around. The bathroom was modern and the shower was really good. The tram stop is just around the corner and is about a 5 minute ride to the beach. The surrounding area itself looks a bit desolate but was actually ok. There is a large supermarket approximately 5 mins walk from the apartments if you're looking to utilise the kitchenette. Note the wifi is only available in the lobby area. Would stay here again.

DAMP rooms. AC doesn't work & no staff help

The A/C didn't work and when we asked for someone to look into it, they said there was only one person and hence we had to wait and no one showed up. Staff are rude. Room is ancient, is fairly clean but not sure if you want to stay here. Very damp the rooms were. And phones don't work, so you'll have to go down to the reception if you need something and they won't attend to it you immediately as they us only 1 staff and the need to be available to come which will not happen.

Went on a 16 day trip throughout Europe. The apartment was ok but the kitchen facilities were quite poor. It lacked eating utensils, cooking utensils, and dishes. For 2 people to have only 1 bowl to use, 1 small pot for cooking, and no knifes to use for eating or preparing food was pretty annoying. The fridge was also noisy and the kitchen area felt cramped when using the 2 chairs and 1 small table. I understand you get what you pay for. However, on the same trip we had much better experiences at other apartments for roughly the same cost. I would not place another booking for this location.

not bad if you don't have another option

The location is far from beaches and center, BUT tram stop is near the building.
Reception is SLOW and feels unhospitable. To solve a small things take them LONG time.
We had nothing in the kitchen to cook it, it took 6 hours, two visits, one call and finally we were given dirty frying pan and pot with the words "you will clean it".
The TV didn't work but we decide didn't tell about it, knowing that fixing this problem will MUCH of our time.
The rooms are clean. Cleaning personal did great job.
Towels and sheets are good quality, clean, good condition.
Feels safe, secure, good supermarket nearby.
NO balconies at the hotel.

Conveniently located Appart-Hotel

Checking In
Check-in was easy enough. The room was ready for us, and reception was helpful and answered any questions we asked. Make sure to ask for wifi in the room. It's a 25 euro deposit for a modem/router that's very easy to set up and then 2 euros/day. We found it really useful as it saved having to go down to the reception area every time we wanted to use the internet.

The Room
My friend and I stayed here for 6 nights and we had a pleasant stay. Some of the reviews talk about stained floors and dirty bathrooms etc, but our bathroom was fine (good water pressure) and there was only a small stain (carpet burn maybe?) near the kitchen area. The studio room was relatively small, but as we were out for the most of the day, it didn't really make a difference.

Location
The hotel's located next to tram stop Vauban, which made it easy to transfer from the main train station (Nice-Ville) with our luggage. Also if you don't feel like walking down to the beach or Old town it's a 10 minute tram journey. Tickets are 1.50 euros and last for 74 minutes.

Checking-Out
Check-out was also fine. You must vacate the room by 10:30, but there is a left luggage room (2 euros pp) if you have a flight later in the day.

Nice
Definitely recommend visiting Tour Bellanda near the Promenade des Anglais for stunning views, the market at Cours Saleya and Old Town in general. If you're looking to venture to other towns, Monaco and Grasse are lovely!

All in all a great stay in Nice!

A good stay

The room was convenient and clean. It was nice to have a kitchen (there is even a dishwasher). The bathroom was good and the shower cabin had a strong stream, warm water and did not leak.

The surrounding area of the hotel isn't the best, so perhaps avoid walking alone at night. But the hotel is right on the tram line and the distance to the old city is about 15 minutes walk.

From the time we walked into the foyer we new it wasn't going to be good experience. Some Staff were rude, we were told that reception was always open but this was incorrect. Getting out of lift and the hallway was dark, and carpet dirty. Going into room , could not believe the condition of the bathroom. The floors were disgusting so stained that the stains wouldn't come off, the shower leaked from everywhere, there was hair on the floor and mould, lights didn't work in kitchenette. Bed was small and very little room, noise heard from outside. Air conditioner didn't work , had to pay extra for a modem in the room for Internet, but still not great. Changed password on th 1st of month but really night before but don't tell you, no internet anyway. To have room serviced, at extra cost for sheets and towels. Take own rubbish out .diswasher had not been emptied from the last people.

Very bad choice

This hotel was very unclean. We stayed for 3 nights and it was not an acceptable place to stay for anyone. We had a sink that did not drain the entire stay, a comforter that had puke or something else on it, holes in the walls, stains in the carpet AND cockroaches were seen on 2 occasions. A gentleman on the night staff attempted to help out but this place really shouldn't be on recommended for any type of stay.

horrible stay

horrible stay. They have a stupid design about the room key, cant even open the door easily. no parking you have to pay 10euro for a narrow underground parking with password which you have to get out of the car to put-in. room is small water pressure is unstable. completely a waste of money and time.

The hotel is run down and horrible.

First, the hotel (except the exterior and its breakfast area) does not look anything like the pictures. The hotel room was extremely dirty with stained carpets in the hallways and inside the rooms, broken and stained tiles in the bathroom, flimsy toilet and worn out furniture with a miniature TV. The carpet in the hotel hallway was equally dirty, stained and worn out. Just go somewhere else - this place is an overpriced, dirty, dump.

We stayed in many hotels during our visit to Europe and this was one of the worst we stayed in. This hotel was bad and needs urgent renovations. The carpets in passages were all very old and tattered. The bathroom floor looked like it had not been cleaned in years. The room smells like smoke. I would not recommend this hotel.

So-so apart-hotel, easy to reach location

We had mixed feelings about this apart-hotel. Advantages: a room with a mini-kitchen as advertised; clean beds and washrooms; excellent frequent tram service to city centre and attraction. Problems: broken air conditioning in our room, air gets very stuffy very soon; no kitchen knives or peelers for cutting veggies, we had to ask for them and got a few cutlery knives that weren't sharp; TV remote was dead, had to ask for a replacement; old carpets with cigaret burns; some of the receptionists weren't too reliable about giving directions to the nearest supermarkets or restaurants, although others gave reliable advice on bus services, etc. Overall, we probably won't stay there again and will try something else instead.

Simple, comfortable, convinient

We chose self-catering as it gives more options when staying for more than a few days. The appartment that we stayed in had a large fridge, a selection of pots, pans, plates, cuttlery, etc, a hob, a microwave and a kettle. A few noticable things missing - a corkscrew and a toaster to name a few. The appartment is a nice size, and the bathroom was suprisingly big. We were disappointed to find that the advertised free wifi was only available in reception and not in rooms. This was inconvinent, but better than no free wifi. The location was convinient with a tram stop just 2 minutes walk away, a train station 10 minutes walk away and the sea just 20-30 minutes walk away. Trams run often and late into the evening and were very handy for getting to and from the centre.

All in all, a comfortable appartment with polite staff in a convinient out of town location. However, a few little niggles that would have made the stay far better.

Ideal for short breaks near to city life

Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our short break in Nice.We have stayed at this hotel two years ago.At that time it hadn't been opened too long so everything looked fresh and clean. I was disappointed with the state of the carpets on this visit as in all the general areas and corridors they were heavily stained. The first room offered us was very small with staining on the carpet and I asked to change our room. We were then shown another room which was much cleaner and more acceptable to us.The management and receptionists were very friendly and helpful Location readily served by trams but also convenient for the airport bus and large supermarkets nearby.

Great modern apartment & good location

We booked the hotel for 3 nights while in Nice with my parents and it was perfect for what we were after. It had a fully equipped kitchen so we could prepare our own meals and the balcony was great for relaxing and having a glass a wine at the end of a long day sightseeing. Beds were comfortable and room was clean. Easy to get into city as tram stop right outside. Only issue was trying to get in touch with them prior to our arrival to confirm someone would be at reception (as we arrived after midnight), We called 15+ times and nobody answered or if they did they didn't speak english so hung up on us. We finally got hold of the hotel by sending an email to their information email address we found online. When we arrived at the hotel there was no apology given after we explained the difficulties we had contacting them, but as promised there was someone at reception waiting for us. If you're going to advertise that your reception is not open 24/7 then you need to make it easier for guests to contact you! Overall though, the apartment was excellent and we would definitely stay again.

An economical option

I stayed at this hotel for 6 nights. The first room I had was disappointing - the plug in the sink was stuck in place and the overflow was connected to the floor, 2/3 lights didn't work and there were a lot of bugs in the kitchen cupboard and showroom. I did point the bugs out to the staff and they immediately moved me to another room, however they did not appear concerned with the other issues in the room. I'm very used to budget travel but I have to say, like other travelers, I did notice the showeroom floor was very dirty. The next room I had was better - the showerhead holder was broken and the showeroom floor was still dirty, but everything else was fine. If you want a cheap hotel to base yourself in while in Nice, then this is an option, just be prepared for a few inperfections!!

Good base for exploring Nice

Second time I have stayed at this hotel. It is well situated near the tram which takes you into the centre of Nice. Basic self catering facilities but enough for making simple meals. Good sound proofing - quietest hotel I have stayed in. Staff very friendly. Would stay there again

Wifi is only in the reception area (with two chairs). Room has a cable to connect to the internet (useless if you are using a tablet). Television had 1-2 channels that could just about be viewed, all others lacked signal.

Half the kitchen utensils were missing upon arrival, we were able to take some out of other rooms as the cleaners leave the doors of empty rooms wide open. We had half of a hair dryer appliance in the room, when we asked staff for a dryer we were told they were all in use, and that we would have to just try again another day.

You have to ask for extra toilet rolls and bin liners at the hotel reception when you have ran out!

This is a very basic means of accommodation, good if you are on a budget, but be prepared to roll your eyes at the facilities.

Don expect a hotel service as it is apartment

40 mins walk to beach, or 10 mins tram. Resident have to clear rubbish before leave, and check out by 10:30am. Other is ok.

Hotel positioned well for tram and buses

At first we were a little wary of the area in which the hotel stands however the close proximity of local transport made up for this. There is an excellent tram system. The tram Henri Sappia runs into the centre of Nice and costs 1.5 euro. Tickets purchased from the machine at the stop. Returning tram is the Hopital Pasteur, same price although there are other travel options . There are buses at the rear of the hotel beyond the large open car park. Tickets for some of the buses can be used in conjunction with the trams. Train travel is also from Nice Riquer which is approx. 10/ 15 min walk away. A small local coffee bar round the corner is cheap and cheerful with friendly staff.
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.The room was basic and had everything a budget traveller could need. Clean comfy beds, small kitchen with two rings to cook on also a microwave. All crockery and cutlery were provided. There was a Casino supermarket round the corner where we bought basics for breakfast as the hotel do charge extra for this. Do be aware that there is a local tax of 1 Euro per person per day which is added to the final bill.
We would definetly stay here again, it served us very well. We intend to return here again later in the year ! Thank you again to the staff for making us feel very welcome :-)

My experience of at apartment city nice

Incorrect address given. It leads to an abandoned building which comes as a shock to a new visitor. Beds were very narrow. Suitable for young person not adults. Room temperature was hot and if the windows were opened it was very noisy outside due to tram, police siren etc. toilets had stain marks on the floor. Room had smell of pet animals. Breakfast was good value for money. No English Channel on TV except one which was repetitive. Beware of pick pocketing if using public transport.
