This is a very well located hotel. The room was clean, modern and spacious. The bed was a very comfortable king size.
My wife and I are not fans of open en-suites. Not much privacy. We thought that the toilet paper was way too thin and you could see through the towels.
Accor hotels really need to lift their game with breakfast. It’s such poor quality. Get rid of the pancake machine and make some edible eggs . That would be a good start.

It’s close to restaurants and shopping and the river. The buffet breakfast was decent with a wide variety of choices. Our room was weird with partial separation of bathroom and bedroom. Hard to describe.

Had to call twice for staff to bring a second washcloth to the room (2 of us were there).

Stay was nice overall, didn’t feel like a 4-4.5 star hotel though for sure. Staff was very transactional , didn’t seem like they genuinely cared about our stay. For example, we came from a 24 hr day of flying and pre paid the room from the day before so we could check in as soon as we landed (around 10am). When we came to check in the front desk took a while to find our reservation , and the room they gave us was a 2nd floor room facing generators and was not very clean. Also the AC in the room was not on and it was 25.5 degrees inside. After a whole day of travelling this was really unfortunate given we had pre paid an extra night just to be able to check in right away (we were staying 6 days). They did change our room to a much better room as soon as we let them know we were not happy with this room. The AC was really finicky and it seems the hotel would set it to a certain point, so the morning checking out it was automatically set to 25 degrees and we couldn’t change it. It took a few times of calling reception to fix it. Multiple times we had to ask multiple times for things like coffee or towels and we’d have to remind them multiple times. Just overall didn’t feel like a classy stay. Overall the breakfast was good and hotel itself was nice and the housekeeping was okay. Not sure if we’d come back given the price though

We booked a pool access room and it was great. Great location with easy access to cafes and restaurants in the West End. Close proximity to public transport. Staff are helpful throughout our stay. Would have appreciated knowing about the walking route from South Brisbane station prior to arrival. Took a longer route using Google Map.

Perfect in every way - made sure we had parking as accessibility issues - early check-in no issues - could not do enough for us to assist my wife in wheelchair - one of the most accessible and disability friendly both facilities and staff I have ever stayed - also solid gym and pool really nice as well - did not eat there so can't comment on this but looked amazing from what I saw

Bathrooms that are not enclosed with actual walls and use frosted glass instead are enough for me not to want to stay again. The rooms also lack personality and feel like a work meeting room.
Room wasn’t ready at check in time. Breakfast options never restocked.

Everything was fine.. Just the breakfast isnt worth $39.90 per person unless you're an Accor Member and get 30% off..

Plus, it's not a Novotel issue, but the amount of homeless people in the park opposite the hotel is ridiculous.. which can have an affect to the overall hotel experience.

There needs to be a bigger and better coffee machine for guests, it failed twice within an hour. Food was ok but not a huge variety especially healthier options. The omelette station is a great idea. Staff were friendly. Room was not very clean, dusty and had old puke stains on the carpet and part of the wall near my bed. The beds and pillows were very comfy and that alone was the best part.

Pros:
- 10min walk to Southbank and QPac
- pool onsite (but still too cold for us in the middle of Summer as it doesn’t get much sunlight)
- Friendly staff at check in
Cons:
- Food - the buffet was just OK and the calamari we ordered was overcooked/inedible at the onsite restaurant
- No parking avail onsite (‘at capacity’), so had to walk with young kids and suitcases to and from the convention centre and pay $30/day
- body hairs still visible in shower corners

The breakfast selection was disappointing and the wait for basics such as bacon and eggs were too long. There was one pancake machine with a long line and then out of mixture.
The room was excellent. Spacious, very clean and comfortable. Room service was prompt and friendly.
I would definitely go back, but probably go to a local cafe for breakfast.

Lesser room type provided than what was booked. Staff became rude when I told them I used tap to pay. Weird intercom broadcast to the rooms to move our car from the loading zone less than 2 minutes after we received our room key.
Checkout took 15 minutes and multiple staff because they couldn’t operate their computer.
The only exit to Southbank from the hotel entrance is through the designated smoking area.

very typical modern hotel with a twist, whoever the designer / architect / consultants were that came up with the design for the bathrooms needs a good kick up the behind & fed to the sharks.
why would anyone think that retractable walls, a glass sliding door that can only cover either the WC or the shower at a time & a night light for the bathroom that can only be switched on/off from from the far side of the bed & will always be seen from the bedroom is acceptable.
If you prefer to live in ignorance of your partners ablutions there is prob better hotels for you, if uv been worn down after years together with no secrets left to be discovered u cant go wrong
Other than that the hotel itself & all staff were excellent & in good location.

This is 2nd time have stayed here and wasnt disappointed. A 10 min walk to South Bank Trans St and about same to QPAC and lots of nearby restaurants.

We have stayed here a few times to go to shows at QPAC. Have stayed at a few places around South Brisbane and this is our favourite. The rooms are a really good size, very modern and comfortable, nice bathrooms. Pool area is nice, accessible and private. This is definitely my go to option for South Brisbane.

Had a fantastic stay at Novotel Brisbane South Bank! The location is perfect, rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved the amenities, especially the pool. Highly recommend for a relaxing and convenient stay in Brisbane. Would definitely return!

I was placed in a disabled room which had limited hanging area and no drawers or luggage rack. For a top end hotel charging over $500 a night it was so poor. I stay in 3 star hotels in Europe with better facilities.
There was also no coffee machine - instant coffee is not ok in a top end hotel.
The staff were aloof and not knowledgeable about reaching the city centre. I left early due to an emergency at home but was not refunded the last night. The staff need better training.

my only complaint was, I had checked for in advance about an early check-in since my flight was coming in quite early in the morning and was told there was a possibility we could get in our room by lunchtime and every time we checked, they kept pushing the time back until it was actual check in time and they were kind of snippy about it and if they have been upfront that there was no possibility of an early check-in I would’ve requested an extra night as opposed to being stuck in the hotel lobby for the entire day

Room was perfect. Beds comfy, bathrooms fresh. Room service handy, though the ravioli wasn’t amazing. Buffet breakfast was also fab tho they could include one barista made coffee vs pointing you to the Nespresso machine.
Gym was great, pool could have been heated, a bit cold for the kids in the morning.
Overall great location and great sleep, so we were happy
