Overall a good stay. I’ve stayed here before and returned this time because I love the location of the hotel. Still not a fan of the carpets in the room and the room felt smaller than I recall. Walls in the room had alot of scarf marking and it just made the place look dirty and not well kept. Staff were friendly and pleasant.

The rooms were clean and with a nice touch of having pajamas. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, polite and cheerful. This hotel is located right by the Ginza train line which makes it very convenient. Restaurants and bars around the area.

The location cannot be bettered. Super convenient for several metro lines and overground trains as well as shops and restaurants. Staff are lovely. Our corner king was a very good size with a nice bathroom suite. Breakfast is decent. Only slight comment is that the premium lounge is quite underwhelming compared to other Tokyo hotel club lounges - its small and limited in complimentary offering.

Room itself is well appointed and service was good. But two main drawbacks were that the gym is terrible (has only few cardio machines and a chest machine) and the door to the rooms allows ALL hallway noise to be heard in the room. There were lots of screaming children during my stay and it seems like you can hear even muffled conversations. So very disruptive for sleeping.

Located in the heart of Ginza, it is a great spot to explore the Ginza area. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was well appointed, but seemed very small compared to the other places we stayed at during this trip. The bathroom was nice, like most hotel bathrooms we saw, compared to similarly priced hotels in the US. The breakfast buffet was nice, but our other stays had more options. Would have liked few more options for pure vegan/vegetarian folks. But they were very accommodating and prepared a special soy meat item for my wife. Will definitely stay again in the future. But may ask for a little bigger room if were staying more than one night. It is also located close to the imperial palace, something we got to walk around during our brief stay.

All the comfort of a top brand hotel but with a cosy and friendly feel. Everything was great. Breakfast was excellent and were other meals. The room was comfortable with quality fixtures. The staff all helpful, professional and friendly. Steps from all the stores of Ginza plus many small authentic (some under the railway arches) restaurants. Close to subway and taxis available all the time. A perfect spot for a stay in Tokyo.

Room nice, clean, reasonable size for Tokyo. Loved the bar in reception and the cocktails were reasonably priced with lovely attentive staff!

Main issue is that the cheap rooms are on the same
Side the trains leave Tokyo station. I enjoyed seeing the shinkansen come and go, but we were on the highest floor of the “cheaper rooms” and you could still hear them a little. They obviously don’t run 24/7 and honestly they didn’t wake us, but I was surprised we could hear them at all.

The location is however absolutely excellent. You’re in the heart of Ginza, a two minute walk to Muji and super close to Tokyo station too. There’s a subway station literally 5 steps walk from the hotel exit.

We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment

I’d stay again, though I’d be aware of the train track noise in the cheaper rooms

Check-in/Check-out:
This was very straightforward and quick. The staff made it very easy to get checked in and out smoothly.

Location:
The location is less than a minute from a train which was great to get around when we needed to. It was also close to a lot of fun shopping areas, places to eat, and not too far of a walk from a great park.

Room:
The room was spacious for Tokyo for sure. Plenty of space, the bathroom was awesome, and we had no problems making ourselves at home. It was very clean and when it was cleaned it was spotless all over again.

Staff:
The staff was very helpful. We asked for recommendations on places to eat and they gave us great suggestions. I also asked ahead of time about how to most efficiently check out and get to the airport and they were very helpful.

Food:
While it is close to a lot of places to eat it also has a great restaurant in the building. We ate breakfast both days we stayed and it was fantastic both times. I would recommend getting that. We also had dinner there one night and it was so good. Definitely worth it if you aren't feeling like going out.

Overall/Value for money:
We stayed at a cheaper place before this and The Gate Hotel was us splurging for our last two nights to do something different. We probably couldn't have afforded to stay here our whole trip but it was great for those two days. If you are like us and trying to stay a little cheaper give this a shot to end your trip. It was worth the money to experience.

The staff were amazing! They were courteous, very helpful and very accommodating to us guests! The hotel was clean, the rooms were spacious and the overall look is superb. The location of the hotel is perfect — walking distance to bus stops and train station. Also central to shopping areas and there were a lot of food restaurants nearby. To add, Glanta is in front of the hotel. I’d book again if I come back to Kyoto. Highly recommend!

Were given rooms facing the train tracks. The trains run from 5AM to 12 midnight.We asked the hotel to change our rooms to the other side but they refused and instead sent ear plugs to us.
They then asked 7000 yen per night for shifting our rooms to the non train tracks side which I refused .

We stayed here for two nights during our honeymoon in the Gate Suite Room on the 13th floor with the private deck and hot tub. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Highly recommend! We absolutely would come back and stay again.

We had fantastic stay in our corner city view room. The room was large with floor to ceiling windows looking out onto the shopping area. The location was perfect, close to everything. The staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful.
We caught the bus from Narita airport and it stopped minutes from hotel.
There were only a few areas that could do with attention, one was the Buffet breakfast. The plates on buffet were continuously empty and staff had to be asked to refill. Also there was a choice of 3 cooked breakfast but this never changed the 9 days we were there, it would be great to a rotation of menu.
The other area was the club lounge that we had entry too as part of our room rate. They had beer, a sweet champagne and sake. It would have been nice to have a white and red wine on offer as well.
Over all I would recommend and stay here again .

I loved everything about The Gate Hotel Tokyo by Hulic.
We were within less than 10 minutes walk to all the fancy shops and department store and food halls. Even better, we were surrounded by food alleys where locals meet up after work:) If walking is not your idea of fun, there is a metro entrance and taxi pickup literally outside the entrance door. Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Very good location in Ginza. The subway entrance is just outside the hotel.
The breakfast is good, with very nice freshly squeezed orange juice, but there isn’t a huge selection. Everything in the hotel is clean and all the staff are very helpful and loan electric socket adapters. The provision of pyjamas in the bedroom is a nice touch.
The lobby bar and outdoor terrace is a great place to sit and relax. Unless you are staying in one of the more expensive rooms you don’t get access to the rooftop bar which is odd.
Overall my wife and I enjoyed our stay.

This hotel was perfect for me and my husband. Canopy room was big and comfy. Service was excellent and arranged to have our luggage delivered to the next hotel. We had a room that wasn’t on the side of the trains so noise was not a problem at all. Location you can’t beat and was easy to get anywhere in Tokyo. Breakfast was great too!

It is in the perfect location, walkable to all locations.
The facilities is clean and well maintained. But some small items' quality are not compatible with this level of hotel such as the hair dryer, the function of the auto toilet, espresso machine, or the slippers. Those things can be upgraded a little with the price i am paying for this hotel.

The hotel is located right above subway station, so we didn’t need to walk much. The room was reasonably spacious for Ginza and had modern clean design. The deluxe double room had double vanity, and it was so convenient for two girls to share. We booked breakfast for all 4 mornings on this trip, but I might skip next time if I stay here again. They were good, but we got tired of somewhat heavy main course. We were wishing there were Japanese breakfast.

For us, this hotel was the first place that had trash bags to separate recycling items. We care about sustainability, so that’s very important for us. I really appreciate their effort. Two thumbs up!
