Very disappointing

My wife is coeliac, and must have a gluten free diet. Despite fully informing the hotel, a mistake was made in the restaurant, and my wife felt very ill at 22.00 and was very sick all night until 04.00. There was no reply when telephoning the reception desk for help with clearing up the mess, despite advertising 24 hr manning. At 07.30 with next to no sleep and my wife still feeling very poorly, I advised the manageress. 24 hours later, she contacted me to confirm their mistake and offered a partial refund of accomodation and dinner. As I had booked with Expedia, the refund only covered part of my payment due to the commission paid by the hotel. I was still charged for breakfast despite neither of us having anything to eat. The room was ok, but the bathroom was poor, with no plug or grid in the sink, which was blocked, smelly and very dangerous for losing a ring or toothbrush head in an unprotected hole.

Looked forward to \"French cuisine\":
Horrible quality at the Brasserie.
Dinner: Steak uneatable/unchewable even after 2nd try.
Breakfast: Uncooked bacon and scrambled eggs like porridge swimming in water.... (How do you kill an egg...?)
Room/hotel: A bit tired, but ok. No kettle, no fridge.
Parking: VERY secure and spacious parking.
Pool: Ok, but shower b4 getting into the pool did not work.
Ps: I travel a lot, retired now from a Quality Mgr for large travel chain (part of Expedia) - and this is the 1st BAD review I'm making...

This is not the usual Novotel standard - the manager was too busy on his laptop to notice we had arrived and then we had to stand and wait until he was finished (the reception) is a table in the middle of the dining room…our food order was wrong and not very good….

A very arrogant and unwelcoming check in. Impossible to locate check in staff, was shown to a person looked like another guest working on his laptop, who only replied with a “qui”??? Really the worst service I’ve received on any hotel for a long time!
Also a very worn down hotel, which in my opinion doesn’t match what was promised.

We arrived at the property after driving the whole day 800km, we arrived with 2 young kids (3yo and 1yo).
The lady at the reception was very friendly and knew we had a long journey.
She explained me everything and informed me about all the possible options (amenities, dinner and activities).
I take the card and go for the room, at the end of the a veeeeery long corridor, as I saw that they had many guests I can understand that we have the last available room (I booked the day before).
We could not enter the room because the card was not working, back for a long walk to the reception leaving my wife with the kids.
They update the card and finally we can open the door to discover that the room is laready occupied, there was inside the room, a stroller, some clothes and food, so apparently a family was already occupying the room.
Back again to the reception to explain the situation.
The lady at the reception apologized but not really in a customer/traveler service way.
She gave us immediately a new room, on the first floor in a property with no lift.
So We are with 2 exhausted kids, a stroller, luggage and a stair to climb with all this, this was not really a good experience.

Plus : The property looks nice, it's really a property family friendly and there was a lot of families with kids so we felt comfortable. I would not recommend the place for singles or couples without kids as there is almost only family with kids and tourist groups so it can really noisy in the common areas

Family stay to visit cite d'automobile

Overall atmosphere of the hotel is good, there is a pool, nice area for kids and a playground, the rooms however are not up to Novotel standards and would be more appropriate to be ranked as 3-star hotel. The only exception in the room is the 50\" LCD television

Most of the hotel recently visited had adapted their breakfast offer: individual packages, thus with a limited offering, but with consideration of social distancing.

Convenient location if you're heading back on the freeway. The restaurant was surprisingly very good and the service was great. The hotel is pretty basic as expected from a Novotel but we had no concerns and the staff was pleasant.

Great hotel for a pass through. I pre-purchased the breakfast option and am so glad I did. I am from the US and the majority of breakfast buffets there are horrible and not worth eating even if free. This Novotel was amazing and I am not kiddding when I say I would go there simply for the breakfast.
It is rated as a 4 star and I think ratings are different over here perhaps. In US it is a very good 3 star...very clean room with fantastic service but on the small side. Hope that helps

I had an issue of the staff serving the wrong drink at the bar and then trying to charge me for it. Promises to take the charge of my bill were made but it was still there on the bill when I checked out. I equally I asked about restaurants in the area and the staff would only promote the hotel restaurant.

Overall hotel facilities are nice, staff are not helpful... Shame.

Very disappointing

We have stayed at many Novotel hotels in the past as a family of 4 and this hotel is much the same as the rest except that the air con did not appear to be working in the hotel rooms (I heard several guests complain about this). The main reason for the rating was due to the receptionist, I had booked (as I always ) do a double room with sofa bed but had only keyed 2 adults when booking, I have since discovered the price for the room is the same for 2 adults as it is for a family of 4. As the booking only said 2 adults I had to pay for a second room and there was no flexibility/discretion used to allow us to pull out the sofa bed for our 2 children to use, consequently the overnight stay cost us double what it should have done.
It is worth noting that the hotel allows pets so not good if you suffer with allergies and don't like eating your breakfast with dogs on the table next to you!
As a comparison we stayed the following night in a hotel in Milan with 2 interconnecting rooms which was far superior and half the cost of this hotel.

Good hotel, smart and lovely pool though a hair dryer and proper mugs (or even paper cups) would have been so much better without much extra expense. Trying to drink coffee out of plastic cups was a nightmare.

My only complaint is that we stayed here on out way back from our holidays and when we came down to breakfast it was obvious that a coach party had already had there breakfast and the amount of choice of food was very limited as nothing had been replaced and we could only choose from what was left, rather disappointing.

I liked this hotel. Reasonable prices, near major highways so quick access to airport (for about 65 euro). There are some restaurants nearby (within 5 blocks) plus a major shopping center 7 blocks away. I was in the area for business and suited my needs quite well. Internet access was quite fast. Had a coffee/tea station. Would recommend for travellers or business people, maybe not the best location for tourists.

The hotel was an overnight stop on a drive from UK to Switzerland. The hotel was more than adequate for this requirement with big rooms, good service and clearly a recent update.

Stop over to Italy

We booked as a stop over to Italy. The hotel is in an industrial area and condition is tired, it needs a refurbishment. The staff told us the AC was not available in the room as there was none yet there were controls for AC? We had an awful nights sleep due to extremely hot & uncomfortable conditions. This was meant to be relaxing after a long journey. Food was awful too. On check out I was told I hadn't paid yet I showed them my Hotel.com print out showing full payment had been taken when I booked! I will not be using this place again.

Stopped here on our way to Italy from UK. Location is close to the Motorway and easy to get to. Hotel is a bit tired - needs a makeover but room was clean and the staff was friendly. The restaurant was understaffed when we were there a 45min wait to get a salad even when plenty of tables so not sure what the deal is with that. We did not try the restaurant after that. Overall a good option for a stopover.

Holiday stop over with wife and 2 children

Very nice hotel, freindly and helpful staff, swimming pool very welcome in such hot weather. The pull out sofa beds were perfect for our 2 children and the room accomodated us well. The room service dinner we ordered was excellent. The breakfast buffet was extremely good. The hotel is just off the main highway and was very easy to find from the main road from Switzerland.

Convenient, close to motorway and easy to find. We have stayed before and it was clean and tidy as usual. This time though we were put under a little pressure to eat at the hotel but we declined as we wanted to eat out, we felt perhaps the staff were on some kind of bonus to sell food. The particular (pressure sales) member of staff ignored us afterwards. Overall we would recommend this hotel to travellers who are passing through, for a longer stay not so sure but it does have a bar/restaurant and outside swimming pool.

The hotel is good value and the staff are friendly.
Kids enjoyed the pool when we arrived and play area.
Beware hotel restaurant! Food was good but service was very slow, I think the hotel was understaffed in the restaurant.

Nice, peaceful, out of town Hotel.

We arrived late after a day at Europa Park. Staff were extremly plesent and helpful and despite our relatively late arrival we were able to have a meal in the reasturant.

We made use of the outdoor swiming pool the next morning as we were in no rush which was clean and well kept.

Lovely little place away from the town and within easy reach of the main roads.

Only thing that let it down was the breakfast was a little half hearted, The hot food was not replenished without prompting from guests, and was warm at best.

Other than that a great place.

Good as a stopover hotel

We used this hotel as a stop-over between western Austria and Calais although next time we will drive an extra hour north closer to Strasbourg to equalise the two halves of the journey. The hotel is close to the motorway and easy to find, on the edge of an industrial estate. There are no decent restaurants within walking distance but the food in the hotel was ok on our visit, but not great. You would need to drive into Sausheim or Mulhouse to find a range of restaurants. Our room was clean and beds very comfortable, including the children's pull-out beds.

Overall I'd say the hotel was good value for money as a stop-over. For info, SatNav said 7.5 hours driving to Calais but it took us about an hour less on quiet bank holiday roads.

this is an excellent stop over hotel. Rooms and bathroom first class and close to the motorway secure parking nice pool and superb breakfast. unfortunately we stayed in mid august when the weather was very warm and there is no air conditioning in the bedrooms nor could the windows be opened. sadly we could sleep very little because the room was stifling. the reception staff apologised but said it was a fault of the hotel that only the reception area and restaurant area are air conditioned. we stayed on a saturday evening when the restaurant was full and there were no bar staff so the cocktails on the menu were \"off\"

I must say we were rather disappointed at the reception we were given at the Novotel, Mulhouse. We were greeted by a very surly receptionist who quite frankly made us feel our stay at the hotel was an inconvenience! The staff in the restaurant were as equally unfriendly. However, the room was comfortable and clean and as we were only staying for one night we could live with it, although we won't use this hotel again.

We spent one night here (a family of four) on our way to Italy from north Germany. We were very pleased with the standard of service and the breakfast we had. Only critisim would be that the room was very warm. The shower was great and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and efficient.

The hotel is in an out of town location and security was taken very seriously with a high fence and electric gates at the entrances.

Would recommend this as a good stop over on the way south.

Séjour au moment de la canicule 2 nuits dans l établissement
Au dela du service de leur restaurant ou l impression est que vous avez à faire à des stagiaires qui avance à rien ( il s agit de mon second et dernier séjour dans cet établissement estampillé 4*
Vous devez régler votre séjour à l arrivée donc si vous déjeune ou dîner sur place vous vous retrouvez avec plusieurs factures je me suis retrouvé dans une chambre en pleine canicule avec la climatisation qui ne fonctionne pas
Le personnel au delà de cela est sympas, ils n’y sont pour rien mais cela ne fait pas tout au prix ou vous payez les chambres dans un Novotel
À fuite , il faut que la direction s attache au confort de leur client, pour la part j avais bien fait attention à ce que les chambres soient climatisées comme indiqué

J'ai profité d'un hôtel quasiment vide en ce vendredi soir, l'établissement était donc très calme.
Accueil un peu froid à l'arrivée (mais l'heure était tardive).
Chambre très confortable, récemment refaite. Vue sur la piscine côté pair.
Equipements réduits au minimum (2 sachets de tisane, une bouilloire, du sucre et des cintres...).
La douche a souffert (l'accessoire pour maintenir l'énorme pommeau en hauteur était cassé, le flexible fuyait au niveau de la connexion avec le pommeau), ce qui est gênant pour une salle de bain rénovée il y a moins de 2 ans...
Petit déjeûner bien fourni (musique un peu forte dans la salle), choix assez varié et quelques produits locaux.
Je n'ai pas eu le temps de profiter de la piscine.
Parking gratuit et fermé par portail automatique.
Comme dans la plupart des hôtels du groupe Accor, il manque des infos concernant les horaires (petit déjeûner, arrivée, piscine, etc.) et rien n'est indiqué dans les chambres...

S’il est idéalement placé aux abords de l’A36 et de la zone commerciale de l’Ile Napoléon, le restaurant de l’hôtel est très cher pour la carte proposée. Également le petit déjeuner, où vous n’avez pas intérêt à arriver en fin de service sinon plus rien de disponible… Sinon, chambre confortable, certaines méritant d’être rénovée (vieillotte à l’aller, remise au goût du jour au retour). Calme apprécié

La chambre etait propre mais malheureusement pas de frigo ni de coffre fort.

Le bruit etait au rdv

Clim ne fonctionne pas.

L'hôtesse d'accueil du soir etait tres agreable, nous l'avons solliciter au sujet du non fonctionnement de la clim, tout de suite elle nous a trouvé une solution (chauffage d'appoint)

L'hôtesse d'accueil, du matin, sollicité suite au désagrément du chauffage, elle etait vraiment froide et aucun geste commercial pour nous soulager (pourtant, nous avons l'habitude de séjourner dans des novotels partout en france et Europe)
Conclusion : hôtel ne mérite pas 4 étoiles

Infâme!!!

Hôtel miteux, nous avions une chambre pour 2 adultes et 2 enfants. Une ridicule cage à poule de 20m carré, non seulement nous étions les uns sur les autres mais le chauffage a notre arrivée était réglé a 25°, l'horreur! Évidemment, absolument rien ne match les photos très bien marketé mis en avant par l'établissement. La réception se résume a deux planches sur des tréteaux et une chaise pliante. Nous voulions manger le soir au restaurant. A l'ouverture, la personne nous propose un mange debout! Avec 2 enfants de 3 et 1 ans. Nous lui avons fait remarquer le ridicule de la suggestion. Vexé elle nous a placé dans un coin tout au fond de la salle. Puis sans nouvelles durant 45 minutes. Nous nous sommes levés et nous sommes partis. Bref. Les murs sont en papier, c'est vieillot, mal éclairé. Et surtout bien trop cher pour ce que s'est. A fuir!!!

Fräscht hotell med bra parkeringsmöjligheter!

Mysigt och fräscht hotell med gratis parkering precis utanför. God mat. Fantastisk lekhörna i anslutning till restaurangen. Kan varmt rekommendera detta hotell!

Novotel? This hotel is not having criterias of Novotel at all. All hotel was lack of cleaning. And air condition ssystem has not even cooling itself. They have cheap vantilator machines in rooms because they know their air cooling system is not working properly. And poor breakfast service. I can say tthat was worst Novotel experience I had ever.

En natt är ok, inte mer

Äldre fastighet med moderna möbler. Ventilationsintagen på rummet var smutsiga och dammiga. Rummet hade ingen aircondition men det gick att öppna fönstret. Textiler på golv hade fläckar och kanterna i dushen hade mögel. Skön säng, lite för små kuddar för min smak pch räcket var alldeles för tjockt men de gick att ta ur och endast använda påslakanet.

För övrigt ett helt okej hotell att bo max en natt på, väldigt god frukost, lite liten men dock av de allra vanligaste i ingridienserna.

Nästa gång kommer jag dock välja ett hotell med aircondition men detta fungerar som sagt för en natt när annat inte finns tillgängligt.

Für Kinder viele Möglichkeiten. Nachts ruhig. Gut von der Autobahn zu erreichen. Das Zimmer war um 17 Uhr nicht bezugsfertig, trotz Zusicherung. Im Hochsommer trotz Ventilator sehr warm. Für eine Zwischenübernachtung mit Kindern geeignet.
Grosser Pool für viele Kinder.

Einfaches Hotel mit Pool. Leider hat die Aircondition nicht funktioniert, der Kühlschrank hat nicht wirklich gekühlt und besonders sauber war es auch nicht.
Das Personal war sehr nett. Wir haben einen Cremant getrunken, der war nicht kalt und offensichtlich vom Vortag.

Te weinig personeel

Overduidelijk een tekort aan personeel, zeker in het restaurant en bij het ontbijt.
Van Novotel ben ik een hogere kwaliteit gewend. Dit was een stuk duurder, maar niet beter dan de budget ketens.
