The hotel was nice. The room was spacious and clean. The outdoor pool is nice, though was a bit chilly in October. The indoor pool temperature was better, but there was crowded. Hot tubs were not working when I was there. There are plenty of restaurants and shops near the hotel, but they are very tourist driven and not my taste. Old town is about a 30-45 minute walk, which is a nicer area. The beach is about a 10 minute walk, and is beautiful. My biggest issue is that I was charged extra fees after checking out, which I only found after returning home. I did not use the mini bar or buy any drinks or food in the hotel restaurant or bar. No one will respond to me about the extra charge and I did not receive any invoice. It’s too bad. It’s a nice hotel, but I would not return because of this.

The breakfast buffet was something else! It brought out my inner fatty because there was so much good quality, fresh food. Highly recommended.

The location was perfect, the pool was quiet, spacious, and the bar was good. Thebpaper cups were a bit disappointing though. However, the bar upstairs was beautiful. A proper sun trap, with beer glasses in the freezer. That was a nice touch.

We'll definitely stay again!

Room was lovely big and spacious and so was the bathroom and the pool is big and wasn’t freezing considering it was September , the gym isn’t good I can’t say anything good about that lol but the rest was great, the jacuzzis in the indoor pool are both not working which sucks but otherwise a good place I would stay again.

Not a nice experience for us

Meliá has a big hotel structure in Benidorm. Facility and amenities are nice but the service is strictly by the book and such a big hotel quite crowded, make it not enjoyable.
Check in was only allowed after 4pm, the big and nice swimming pool premises were closed at 8pm, having staff “pushing”us out of there even before the hour (no chance to, at least, stay there enjoying the end of the afternoon).
Breakfast got a wide variety of food and drink but the quantity of people served there goes against the quality and comfort to make it enjoyable. Once again, staff was punctually closing doors …
Finally, check out was 12pm sharp, having staff 15 minutes before the hour, knocking the door to remind us to leave
Definitively, not a nice experience for us

We have been visiting Benidorm every year for the past 15 years (allowing for the pandemic) and for most of those visits we stay at the Melia, however I am sorry to say that this will be the last time we stay here. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff and amenities are great, but the “all inclusive” nature of the hotel has produced a drop in standards that you would never have experienced before the all inclusive option was available. Typical examples of this include the 9am race for sunbeds, people actually racing each other to get a sunbed, then the inevitable arguments when someone gets a bed someone else wanted! Also people walking around inside the hotel in shorts or bikinis, when I asked a member of staff about this they said that they don’t even try to enforce the dress code any longer because the guests argue about the rule. I like the Melia but I will now stay somewhere else that maintains standards rather that give in to the clientele it’s attracting

The Hotel was very clean spacious and has everything you need for a good holiday. Great pool, a lovely little gift shop and spa, the Entertainment was very good in the evenings. Great for families, the bar prices where fair i felt. I really enjoyed the Breakfast lots of choice to have and the cofffee was nice. Our room was clean and Tidy but for two nights i didnt sleeo to well every time i turned over the bed moved with me it was as if it slid a cross the floor. I was going to speak to the reception to ask for this to be fixed but the next day it was the way it should be. I think someone realised in house keeping and fixed the bed. Anyway apart from that it was a lovely stay at the Hotel and all the staff where very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome.

Breakfast had lots of options and was good. The beds were big and comfortable but we had a major issue with housekeeping. On the second day, I had to chase reception so our room would be cleaned, and when they went, they didn't even empty the bins which were full to the top with dirty nappies. On the third day, I had to chase again. After loads of chasing, housekeeping came with towels and weren't even going to change the sheets, I had to ask for the sheets to be changed. On the fourth night, again our room was neglected and not done. I had to speak to guest experience and they said our room would be done at 11am but it wasn't and I had to complain once again. Housekeeping did our room at half past 12 after I complained. They were very apologetic and gave us cheese and a bottle of champagne and let us do free late check out but the champagne was left in the room because we had our 7 month old with us so we weren't going to drink. Besides that bad experience, we enjoyed the outdoor pool, which has a massive area to lay in the sun and the pools are quite big. Only disappointing factor is that they only open the pool at 9am. Would have been nice to be able to enjoy it earlier in the morning. For a 4star hotel I expected better. Management did have good intentions with their offerings but in the end it didn't really compensate for what we went through.

Gone down hill

3rd time returning this hotel and each time has gone more down hill
Noisy that’s mostly guests in rooms moving things about u hear all the scratches on floor and doors slamming
Food is poor cold and limited during the week but picks up at bit at weekend when the Spanish decent on the hotel but also very noisy also the waiting staff seemed like they didn’t want to be there and definitely no service with a smile
Check in took over 25 mins with all the checks
I won’t be using this hotel again and I as a little disappointed

We really enjoyed our stay at Melia Benidorm –
It’s got a great feel to it with a lovely pool area, just a couple of minor issues. Housekeeping could have been a bit better, as used cups and glasses in the room weren’t washed or replaced regularly, and toilet rolls weren’t replenished
until there was about 5 sheets left!. That said, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the location was fantastic – just a 10-minute walk to the beach, with Benidorm Palace up the road and the fantastic Paradiso restaurant only a few hundred meters away! We’d definitely return!

Don't no where to start 4 days of hell. Building Lidl on one side. Building pool on other side drilling, banging morning until finish. Food appalling meant to be international cuisine so vile. Reception area was lovely and inviting but found the rest off the hotel quite depressing. Dark wood on outside of rooms, rooms could do with a bit of attention. We always say hello to all staff however apart from the gentleman at the front of the restaurant and the reception staff we did not get any response.....how rude. Food was nice but in the evening the restaurant was like a school canteen. Would nor recommend this hotel.

The hotel is surprisingly big! But you dont notice it until your in the restaurant.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Pool area was nice, clean and relaxing.
Location is good, far enough away from the night life to not affect you, but close enough to go enjoy in that it doesnt take too long to get from/to.
Only negatives, hotel needs a refresh in places. For example, the bath and toilet seat both had many chips in them. The room had lots of telephone line ports, but no USB slots, so feel like it current times they should be swapped around.
Was only B&B, lots of choice, but hot food wasnt always the hottest.
Overall, nice hotel and would happily stay here again!

Public areas and pool area are lovely. Bedrooms are tired especially the bathrooms tiles are cracked body wash no longer on the wall just holes. Had to change rooms due to issues with shower room above us leaked through the ceiling then our bath leaked flooding the bedroom. Staff were not apologetic about the issues.
Breakfast choice was amazing.

Lifts!! Always an issue and took ages to get a lift as 21 floors of guests is a big number especially when a couple of lifts are out of service.

Reception, no system, more a free for all and the staff could not see who was next so caused a little tension when checking in/out.

Otherwise, great hotel, good rooms and dining facilities (only had breakfast) pool was good with activities most days.

Overall I would stay here again but the lifts and reception issues need addressing by management.

They changed my room unapologetic
Lady who cleans the room nice enough but mops the floor leaving it very wet without drying , I was still in the room at the time

Had to go down to restaurant at Dinner time I was not full board so wasn’t allowed in couldn’t believe the grief I got for something that should have been provided previously
breakfast was nice, good choices but a little cold although there was a microwave
Didn’t use pool or other services on offer

Amazing bed nice room with great view. Main problem for me is they teh lobby and restaurant areas are very warm and stuffy. I'm litualy sweating buckets while eating dinner it's not pleasant. Not sure if air con is broke or if this is normal. This would ut me off a return visit if honest

We have been staying at the Melia Benidorm for weekend breaks for many years but I feel its time to move on and find somewhere else. It used to be a very good hotel and still is okay but there are definitely better for the price. The bedrooms are getting scruffy , bathrooms outdated, the non slip bit from the bath has washed away and taking a shower can be dangerous , very slippy! Maybe its just me but the mattresses seem to have got harder , its like lying on a brick and the pillows where rubbish, the patio door didnt close properly, the couch was dirty looking , I wouldnt sit on it ,a lot of the UK channels on the TV had gone from the last time we stayed, apart from that the room was clean. The hotel and pool area was as normal very nice and well cared for however the Hotel bar is becoming a joke . One barman , one beer which was flat, we waited at the bar for 10 minutes along with a few other people , no one there and eventually one barman who looked pissed off arrived , threw a beer at me , took my money without even an hello. He didnt want to be there. A hotel so large should have a good bar with a choice of beers, no wonder the bar is always so quiet, no entertainment , and dont blame covid , all the other hotels and bars where providing it , on coming back to the hotel after an evening out , we fancied a quick drink before bed , not with that barman, he barked the bar is closed!!! So off we went , luckily there is a bar next door only a few minutes away !!

Our stay at the Melia Benidorm

The reception areas were clean and relaxing and exotic, all staff were very friendly and accommodating. Rooms clean and large and modern, these days a plus that the bathroom has a bath tub however the bathrooms are looking a little shabby now with rust on the radiator, grout missing, but overall ok but could do with updating. The pool area and gardens are a real bonus, they are very clean and beautifully kept.

The hotel reception area is very impressive as are the amenities downstairs. Unfortunately that’s where the praise ends.
They are woefully understaffed. When we arrived there was a huge queue for check in and only two staff members on the desk out of 5 Covid secure workstations. Not a problem as we booked the Level with their priority check in, but actually a problem as they didn’t have the staff to assign for The Level and wouldn’t allow any priority.
We were assigned a pretty cool room on the 22nd floor with amazing views. However, the rooms are very tired, especially the bathrooms. The balcony furniture consists of 2 plastic reclining chairs without cushions or covers and a plastic table.
My advice is to book another hotel in Benidorm or if you’re a Melia fan, which I am, book one of their other hotels. Melia Alicante is very nice

We have stayed at this hotel on quite a few occasions . Great location and good facilities. However on the last day we had no water . There was no explanation or when it was to be restored. We where checking out so we had to leave without getting washed ,the same morning the TV system crashed so we where sitting in the bedroom with nothing . Time to go so we left without even an apology. We will return but it was just a bad ending to an enjoyable stay.

I TOOK MY 8 YEAR OLD SON FOR 3 NIGHTS DURING HALF
TERM. THE OUT DOOR POOLS WERE CLOSED AS WAS THE
HEATED INDOOR POOL! THIS PUT A CLOUD OVER THE HOLIDAY
AS IT IS DIFFICULT TO ENTERTAIN A SMALL CHILD. I CHOSE THE
MELIA MAINLY FOR THE INDOOR POOL.
APART FROM THE ABOVE IT IS A LOVELY HOTEL, WITH FRIENDLY
STAFF.

We have stayed at the Melia for the past 3 Xmas now. We were disappointed at not getting our original room request of 19th floor or above in the first instance. We then had to request another room as the one allocated was quite dirty, especially in the bathroom with lots of mould on the tiles. I don't think this is a 4 star hotel anymore and needs some refurbishment.

Have been going here for years but this time it was abysmal!
Front of house staff had no people skills and argumentative the place was filthy food was poor amenities were broken or aged and to top it all there was a man in black tracksuit going around pretending to be security trying the doors.
Will never be back not worth the money go elsewhere
