Really disappointing and small rooms, creaky bed, ridiculously small shower where the water ran hot and cold whilst on, ground floor room with a view out on to the street so unable to open the curtains for light. Thankfully only stayed the one day, wouldn’t have been able to manage any longer

Nice hotel on the edge of Kamari

The hotel was a fantastic base for us to explore Santorini. It is worth knowing that the hotel is on the landing flight path so the noise of aircraft is loud.

Decent Room with AC

The room was decent, but the bathroom was VERY SMALL. The room had AC and the transfer to/from the airport was nice and easy. The breakfast was pretty good. The location was perfect to walk to the beach and MANY restaurants.

This is my fourth trip to Santorini and by far my favourite resort. The hotel is well presented, very clean with lovely staff.
The only issue I had was my room had the bed on a mezzanine level and the bathroom was downstairs. I don't think all rooms are like that though. On the whole excellent hotel.

Well located quiet hotel

Check-in was fast and room conditions were good.
Kamari is a wonderful quiet organized beach with plenty of restaurants, and the hotel is well located, just a few steps from the shoreline.
Staff was very helpful in booking transportation to our next destination.

One of the best

A hidden gem of a hotel, an oasis of tranquility yet a stone's throw from the sea and the promenade of bars and restaurants. The hotel staff were most professional and friendly. The rooms were generous in size and cleanliness was evident throughout the hotel. Visit Santorini, take a trip to the old volcano and chill out in this hotel's swimming pool!!

Lovely hotel but a few grumbles.

The hotel itself is wonderful - very pretty and an oasis of calm. I think it was full, but never gave the impression of being busy or crowded. It was a perfect place to relax. Staff really are superb - pleasant and friendly in a genuine manner.

Only two downsides, the breakfast is not great (not much choice if you're staying more than a day or two) and our room was close to an unacceptable standard. We booked late so I assume we were given the last room which other guests had refused to stay in! Photos of their rooms on websites all look much better than our room - maybe it is the next on the list for a refurb, but some other online reviews do seem to tell a similar story.

The room is only tidied, not cleaned, each day. I don't think our bins were emptied and there was a dead spider (or something else with legs) in the ice cube tray all week. The welcome pack mentioned a 'do not disturb' sign to hang on our door, but we never had one. Also, there were two dressing gowns at the beginning of the week but they both disappeared at different points. The pillows were awful. The upstairs shower fixture was the worst I think I've ever seen in a hotel - it looked as though it had been installed by me (i.e. totally incompetently) and there was no hot water at certain points during the day. The drawers in the cupboard did not fit so were unusable.

However, we didn't spend much time in the room so I must stress that we had a wonderful stay here.

Horrible hotel

The room was dirty. The handles of the sink or faucet were sticky. There was limited hot water. The handles of the shower were filthy. The sheets had stains and women's hair on it. When service came to clean they did not pay attention to those details such as long women's hair on the brand new sheets they changed.

Comfortable hotel steps from the beach

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel at the beginning of September and everything was perfect. Very nice and helpful staff, lovely pool with very good cocktails. Our room was big very quiet but the bed was located upstairs. It's impossible not to notice the proximity to the airport but it wasn't disturbing at all.
The village where the hotel is located is nice with plenty of restaurants and bars facing the beach.
If you're not a fan of motorcycles don't fancy driving in the island you can take the bus. It only takes 15 minutes to get to Fira and from there you can take another bus (15-20 minutes) to get to Oia.

DO NOT DO IT.

Hotel was portrayed as a 4 star, but at the end of the day, the room did not indicate that, they had crazy ridiculous rules that they will enforce after you supposadly break them without informing guests (Not being able to have guests). They also attempted to charge us for that. I have been staying in various hotels around the world and no one ever mentions that. There was also a great deal of racial profiling. The only reason they noticed/picked on us is because we were different from most of the guests there. NOT ACCEPTABLE. If you are not white, DEFINITELY DO NOT STAY HERE. Overall, staff (even management)and facility did not live up to 4 stars. I wuld rate this place a 1.5 stars. Terrible.

Excellent location 2mins to beach and tavernas...great breakfast choice, friendly efficient staff, clean and modern, lovely pool with pool bar (good cocktails) and nice chilled vibe. Only down is its on the flight path ..but we got over that quite quickly...found it quiet entertaining!

Decent hotel. I thought the bed and pillows were uncomfortable and the shower was small plus very weak. Other than that it's a good hotel with friendly staff. Be aware loads of saga holidays so it is peaceful if you're into a relaxing time by the pool. €15 to the airport and 1 min walk to the beach strip with all the restaurants.

Lovely place to stay in Kamari

Myself and my partner stayed here for 10 days and found the location excellent in kamari. Just a 2 minute walk from the beach and not in the thick of the hustle and bustle which is a 5 minute walk down the road.
The hotel itself is lovely; the pool area is immaculate and very serene. The lunch time menu and food at the hotel was extensive and delicious, as well as the cocktails...i recommend the strawberry daiquiri every time. The breakfasts were adequate, for a small hotel, this is what you would expect; a selection of hot and cold foods with fresh fruits also. The staff were all very friendly and helpful too.
The rooms we found were a little dark and lacked windows, which is our only real negative (our room overlooked the pool area and i think they have a new block with updated rooms)....along with the bed linen feeling like cardboard. We asked for softer bed covers and we recieved them straight away.

Refurbishment needed and too close to airport

We stayed at this hotel two weeks in August 2014. The first night we have been given a room that was not even vaguely resembling the one we have seen on the website: dusty, not clean, very basic and rusty shower; suspect it was a courtesy room. The next day - upon request - they moved us to another room, marginally better. However, the room quality is definitely not up to a 4 stars hotel level. Too basic, with squalid furniture and TV. They still have a1970 wall radio equipment. Furthermore, the hotel is unbearably close to the airport with an average of 30/40 planes landing every day in high season. The hotel is so close to the airport that by looking at landing planes you would gain an unparalleled knowledge of airlines! On a related note, part of hotel clientele are people who have to stay on the island to catch a connection flight: very short stays with a lot of luggage noisily dragged around. The pool bar is pure sadness, deserted and very overpriced for what it is. I would not recommend this hotel at this price. It compares to a three stars hotel but yet ask four stars fares.

Lovely hotel, friendly staff!

We visited the Rose Bay in July 2014 and had a lovely relaxing week there. It was the second time we had visited Santorini and although we had planned to visit more places we ended up spending most of our time by the pool.

The staff at Rose Bay were very friendly and my husband would wonder over to the bar for a drink while I was getting ready and chat to the barman!

Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice and it is on until 10am so you don't have to get up too early after all the Mythos you drank the night before!!

Rooms were cleaned every day which was nice!

The only downside (and it is very small) is that the hotel is under the flight path so every so often you had a great rubble in the sky and see the planes trading of or landing. Santorini is a very small island so its lovely you will see this from many hotels. We got used to it and practically didn't notice by the end of the week.

I would definitely recommend the Rose Bay and I would stay there again!!

Nice hotel close to a rocky beach.

Quiet hotel with excellent staff and good facilities. Pool area good with comfy beds and towels provided if required and always beds available. Food excellent for breakfast and lunch snacks.Rooms are a good size and good facilities for Greece,air con and room safes at no cost,free wireless which was a bonus. Small gym area and table tennis if required.

Great pool, shame about the hotel

The rating of 4 stars is very misleading - the only 4 star aspect is the pool. Our beds were extremely hard, 2 single beds pushed together instead of a proper bed. The room was impeccably clean and the balcony area was lovely. We had a nice view of the pool on the ground floor and the pool itself was ideal - decent size and temperature. It looks stunning lit up at night. Breakfast again was disappointing for a four star hotel, the milk was warm, lack of diversity (very carb heavy and little to no fruit) and generally of a poor quality. The receptionist Christina was very helpful and nice.

We enjoyed the pool and there were positive aspects of the hotel but I wouldn't go beck here in a hurry.

The hotel was right in Kamari Beach, with multiple restaurants and shops selling trinkets, within walking distance.

Christina, at the front desk, was terrific. Very helpful with excursions and suggestions. The other front desk staffers were either curt or abrupt, or didn't have much of an understanding of how to help us, either with recommendations for things to do, or helpful guidance.

The breakfast was inferior, and the gym was in a sorry state. The pool and bar were very nice, and that staff was very pleasant.

Nice Hotel close to the Black Beach at Kamari.

We got a room with one double and two single beds. Beds were fine but the bedding was questionable and the room cleanliness not good. There were two bathrooms one of which was so small the door was blocked by the sink and the other did'nt have a shower just a bath tub. The breakfast was fine, not too many options, just OK.
The pool is vey nice and the staff very helpful. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and if you want to take a bus to Thera or Oia, the bus station is a good 10min walk. All in all just a good hotel, definitely not excellent.

Lovely family holiday :)

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. The room was immaculate, it was cleaned every day and our cleaner was lovely and friendly. Breakfast was nice with a good variety to suit everyone and again, lovely staff that looked after you. The pool is a great size, especially if you fancy doing some lengths to keep fit and the gym is good too. The only slight issue was that the pool turned our white swimwear green so I suggest taking anything except white and if you have blonde hair, wash it after swimming as it also turns a little bit green! This wasn't enough to stop us going in the pool and it would definitely not put us off going back! We had such a relaxing holiday in fantastic surroundings. Thank you to everyone at the Rosebay Hotel!

Superb Hotel

The Rosebay Hotel is excellent. Excellent location in the best resort to stay in on Santorini. Yes Oia and Thira are beautiful, but expensive. From Kamari you can get to both these within 15 to 30 mins , visit then enjoy great restaurants and good prices back in Kamari. Don't bother with Taxi s , they are expensive and you end up sharing yet still paying the full price and the other passengers pay the full price too !!! Bit of a rip off!!! Get a quad bike or car instead, way way better to get around the island .. As for the Rose Bay , lovely hotel , good room with air con , kept spotless, the pool also was good and the bar was manned by excellent staff who always greet you with a smile and a cold beer !!!! Poliner was excellent both at breakfast and lunch and at the bar, very friendly. All the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Honestly couldn't find any fault here and believe me if there was a problem I would say.
Had a very relaxing two weeks here and would definitely come back to this hotel... It's a perfect base to see the island from and also a very short walk down the road to the beach front where 80 very good restaurants stretched down the front. Perrissa is over the mountain side which you can visit , but although this is a nice resort , we preferred Kamari.
To all the staff at the Rose Bay.... Thanks you for making our holiday so perfect, it was a most enjoyable relaxing two weeks !! Wish I was still there thank you

Friendly hotel with a great location

stayed for 1 week in a two room apartment (2 adults / 2 children) in the new area at the back of the hotel. Very clean and quiet hotel. Rooms cleaned every day including floors etc. Perfect location for being convenient for the beach and restaurants and yet away from any crowds. Only drawback for the room location was the WIFI was weak and had to go to the pool area to get a signal but would go back there. A lovely friendly hotel.

Very nice Hotel on the quiet side of town.
Convenient to just about everything that Kamari had to offer.
I found the black volcanic sand too hot and very difficult to walk on.
Sun bathing is just about the only thing to do during the day, then dining out late by night.

Great hotel for all!

When we arrived the hotel was very busy (Saga group) and we were allocated a fairly basic room at the rear of the complex. At our request for a change of room we were immediately offered a move to a more pleasant room in the main complex overlooking the pool. We were also impressed by the pool and the poolside area which were generally quiet, Kiddies pool too deep for toddlers though. Good choice of breakfasts, bar snacks available all afternoon, and the lack of an evening option was not a problem because of the huge choice of local restaurants and takeaways.

The position of the hotel is excellent. 50 mtrs from the beach and extremely quiet. The poolside bar was great with good prices. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool was immaculate as was the poolside area with plenty of sun beds available. Maid service daily even when we managed to surface from our beds at 2pm after a 5am finish to a wedding they still hung on to finish the room for us!!!!.Breakfast was really good with everything you could possibly need.. All in all we had a great time at this hotel, the only negatives were that there were no tea making facilities in the room which I think you should expect for a 4* and also the rooms could maybe do with a makeover. Old school 14\" portable TV's are now a thing of the past!!!!!!
P.S. Vicky running the poolside bar, you were great. Hope you get to London one day.

Excellent holiday hotel for all ages

Beautifully designed hotel, perfect location just moments from the beach and main seafront promenade bars, restaurants and shops. Very relaxing atmosphere around the central pool area both during the day and in the evenings. The hotel staff are all exceptionally delightful, friendly and professional and are perhaps the nicest we've ever met! We really mean this. We enjoyed both lazy days and busy sightseeing trips during our stay, the hotel arranged for our car hire and taxis. Kamari Beach is a great part of the island to stay as the best beaches are both here and just over the hills in Perissa with Ancient Thira literally on the hillside above the bay. Visits to Thira (Fira), Akritoria (including a sunset stop on the way back), the extraordinary white village of Oi clustered on the cliffs at the northern tip of the island and the lovely little fishing port below at Ammoudi are all 'musts' when on Santorini - as are the VinoSanto, Santorini tomato fritters and lava! We had a wonderful holiday all booked so easily through Expedia.

This was a fabulous hotel that turned out to be a lot better than expected. In particular, the rooms and amenities are much better than what photos show. Extremely well kept, this hotel seemed to have the largest swimming pool compared to other hotels in the area. The best point is that it is only a few metres away from the sea where an array of restaurants and bars are accessible.

Lovely hotel, near to all amenities

We recently stayed at the Rose Bay Hotel in Kamari in Santorini for 10 days. Even though it was in the height of summer (August) the hotel remained quiet and peaceful, sunbeds around the pool were always available. The staff were lovely, always happy and nothing was too much trouble. A special mention for Adriana and Elena who were friendly and chatty to everyone. The facilities were good, the swimming pool was very inviting, the pool bar was well stocked and catered for all tastes and the hotel was always spotlessly clean. There was a good variety of food available for breakfast but they could do with another toaster on occasions. The hotel is under 10 mins walk to the beach which again was always spotless with plenty of sunbeds from €2.50. There was a good selection of restaurants and bars along the front serving fresh Greek food. The hotel is on the flight path to the airport and the planes do come over very low but rather than be annoying it is fascinating to watch them sweep in over the bay. Taxi's cost around €15-18 to Fira to watch the beautiful sunsets.

Nice hotel in great location

Rooms and facilities are quite basic but well kept and clean. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Atmosphere and staff very laid back. Sometimes it took a while to get what you asked for but you did always get it and it was always good. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere of good value, clean and friendly.
It's near to the main strip of shops and restaurants by the beach but not so close that you feel you are stuck in the middle of it. Some hotels that wre on the actual beach front did not look nice and too close to the main walkway where the pool was clearly overlooked by all the passers by. We would not have liked to have been there.
It is very close to the airport so the planes do fly over head quite close and they can be loud but it is not too often so we didn't find it a problem.

Great hotel to relax and enjoy

Well located as it's far from the crowdy areas of Fira and Oia. Nice to relax and enjoy. Really helpful and nice staff. The breakfast buffet is also really good. The beach is really close but it's a rocky beach. It's also close to bars and restaurants which are less expensive than the main tourist sites, though the restaurants in Kamari beach are not the best ones in Santorini. Try Imeroviglio instead, less touristy and awesome food.

A relaxing place!

Stayed for 7 nights in room 307(suite) no pool view but sea views instead! There are rooms around the pool so go for one of these or one of the 2 suites as a few of the other rooms only have garden views. A chilled out place, great pool, which was needed as the beach is very stoney, clean towels & beddding every day,great service good food not too bad prices either! Very relaxed atmosphere Hotel location is at the top end of town but its only a 20 min stroll to the other end along the sea front The resort itself is very laid back, VERY friendly people, and very clean.Try any of the restaurants along the front they are all good! A couple of bars worth a mention are The Liver bird, just up a side road 50m, wayne & Shelia run it and do the best english breakfasts in the resort, very friendly couple who kept a first class bar! well worth a visit. Splash restaurant/bar is also good for a meal or drink. Just on the front near to the road the \"liverbird\" is up is a bar called the loveboat who are open a bit latter than most and have a karaoke night....which is such a laugh as people from all over europe do their own thing Overall a cracking hotel and a great resort

Lovely hotel at the end of the beach

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in June and very much enjoyed it. The location of the hotel is at the far end of the beach, however the walk to the main area of shops, bars and tavernas was very pleasant, following a pedestrian path along the beach front, and only takes 5-10 minutes. There are a few supermarkets, restaurants and bars within 100 meters also. The staff were friendly and helpful when I enquired about local trips and needed transport information. The hotel was lovely and clean. Our room was a double and was adequate. It had a small fridge and a balcony, although the view was of buildings and a garden so not great. The shower was very small, but we managed with it. The maid came everyday to clean and change the towels. The breakfast was fresh and varied, with continental and cooked options, and there is a nice seating area for it. The pool is gorgeous. It is clean and modern. Fresh beach towels were provided each day. The pool bar was also very nice and had a good menu. Overall we had a great stay and I would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

the best hotel of our entire vacation

we spent three weeks in Athens and the Greek islands, and Rose Bay in Kamari (Santorini) was the best hotel we visited. Very close to the beach (50 m or so), close to many restaurants and shops, staff very friendly and helpful. A rental car can be useful, as Kamari is on the side of the island opposite from the caldera. Overall, highly recommended hotel.

This hotel was difficult to find, but once there, it was clean although I found the rooms very drab and sort of depressing. The view from the balcony was ok , the staff was ok ,the pool was ok , the lobby was ok . The breakfast was good. This hotel is close to the beach about 5min walking and close to all the resturants.

Perfect hotel for a relaxing time in Santorini

The Rose hotel was perfect for the holiday we were after. It was very chilled and most of the people staying their were couples wanting to relax. The pool was in great condition and really clean and the hotel staff were so friendly and helpful. I was also really impressed will the quality of the food from the pool bar and it was also very good value.

The location was just right for us too. The hotel is just off the main strip which gives some peace and quiet but it is literally only a few mins walk away. It is also very close to the beach.

The rooms are very basic, and are nothing special. I read they were 4 star but I do not think this can be true. But they are very clean and a good size.

I would go back to this hotel and we really enjoyed our holiday.

Best in Kamari

Best B&B type hotel in Kamari. Super swimming pool. Clean hotel and rooms. Lovely staff. Calm and relaxing. Good buffet breakfast and good selection of foods at good prices on the menu for lunchtimes. Great cocktails at the bar. Family friendly. Good location being a 2 min walk from the beach and all the restaurants. Planes fly low just near the hotel but not during the night so not really a problem. :-)

Nice hotel near the local beach

Very nice, boutique hotel close to the beach. No beach/seaviews, though. The swimming pool is excellent, but the gym is quite small and limited. Beach towels are an issue. The wi-fi internet did not work most of the time!

Rose Bay Hotel

The hotel staff was incredibly friendly. The room was clean and right off the pool area. Pool bar and restaurant were open most of the day and the food was excellent, including breakfast. Location is close to boardwalk in Kamari with tons of restaurants open very late. Beach is black sand (i.e. rocks) which was discouraging so we stayed at the pool. Volcano tour and Fira (main tourist center) are accessable by taxi and local bus for those days not by the water. Internet access was available but never worked for us.

The best place to stay on Santorini

I would recommend Rose Bay Hotel in Kamari to anyone looking for a private hotel close to the beach and cafes, but away from the prying eyes of the tourists that stroll along the beach front day and night. I was actually disappointed at the beach front hotels with their small sized swimming pools in full view of the public. Kamari is definitely the best place to stay on Santorini, away from the crowds at Fira and Oia, but within walking distance to shops, cafes and a swimmable beach. We caught the bus to Fira and then onto Oia for a sunset view. We hired quad bikes for a day and explored Santorini- that was a highlight of our stay. The food and drink at the cafes in Kamari is reasonably priced, with many places offering 'happy hour' during the evening. Rose bay Hotel staff were friendly and the food and drink prices similar to Athens which was a pleasant surprise. The downside of Santorini would be the exhorbitant cost of taxis- 15 Euro to go four miles from the airport to Rose Bay Hotel! Planes fly a bit low over the hotel but there were only a few each day. I would recommend Rose Bay Hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, inexpensive stay in Santorini.

Paradise in Santorini

We stayed at the Rose Bay Hotel in late June 2010. This is a wonderful hotel with 2 floors where all the rooms overlook the large clear water swimming pool that was very warm. Everything is very clean and updated and the staff is excellent.

Our package included breakfast each morning and it was very good.

The location of the hotel is awesome with the beach only 50 meters down the road where there are plenty of shops and restaurants along the long beach strip. You also have a small grocery store to stock up on anything you need and the prices in this store are very reasonable.

Santorini in general is expensive to dine out but you can find places that serve a great meal at a reasonable cost.

There is wireless internet service at the hotel and you can find wifi hotspots on various parts of the island.

We loved every minute while staying here and although there are probably other great hotels like this one, we got a great price by booking through Expedia.

Warning: if taking a taxi from the port or airport, always ask what it will cost to your destination as we were charged $18 Euros for a short ride from the port to the airport to pick up our rental car. We also got a good deal by booking our rental car through Expedia as you never know what you may pay by picking one up once on the island.

Santorini is perfect for couples as it is a very romantic island to visit. Families love it as well.

For a gauranteed good stay in Santorini, come to Rose Bay Hotel.

Struttura molto bella, purtroppo la camera n 121 quella assegnatomi è risultata molto ma molto piccola per poter fare la doccia si diveva scavalcare un muro. Noi avevamo la mezza pensione la colazione del mattino eccelente , mentre la cena serale era un grande enigma in quanto il menù è scritto in inglese e non si capiva quello che si mangiava. Il cameriere Regin è stato molto carino e gentile cin noi ci ha sempre aiutato. Anche alla reception nessuno che parla una parola di Italiano, questo vuol dire che se non sai l'inglese devi sartene a casa.

Bien situé par rapport à la plage. Bel hôtel avec une belle piscine. Néanmoins les chambres dont trop simples pour un 4 étoiles. La literie est médiocre et la salle de bain manque de modernité. Le personnel de l'accueil est dépassé par les événements et manque parfois de professionnalisme. En revanche le restaurant de l'hôtel est très bien. Très bonne cuisine. Le bar est également à la hauteur.

Rosebay can really be recommended. Santorini is without words. Beach and promenade are nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff from the morning till evening. Clean rooms, rich breakfast, tasty cocktails.
