The chair is the room was tattered, the TV remote control battery was dead, the nightclub opposite the hotel made sleep challenging, the carpets in the room and in the hallways were very dirty. WiFi worked well but that was about it for me.

A lot of stains on the carpets and a weird fusty smell. The room was lovely, but definitely didn't match the pictures. Staff were very kind and helpful, also has a little shop in the lobby which was really useful! Not sure about the shops, but there are a lot of options on uber eats. Also a very short walk to aviva studios! Great for concert goers if you don't mind the weird smell.

Came back to this hotel as I had stayed here numerous times many years ago. Hotel is still a great little find within walking distance from town and public transport.
It was a shame they had removed the reception bar which was previously available but none the less the staff were warm and friendly.

I have stayed at the Ainscow for years and noticed that furniture in rooms quality is getting worse with time. Broken sofas and just poor which will make me rethink where I stay in future. Staff are great, location is really good. Such a shame.

Really good room at a good price. When traveling with kids it is hard to find rooms with a double and 2 single beds (why do so many \"family\" rooms have two double beds? Do other children like to sleep in the same bed as their siblings?), so this room at a good price is a great find. Breakfast is good and the hotel in generally good condition. Only complaint is the mattress was a bit old and past its best. Also for the family room note that there is no door for the shower area, just around a corner, so some, but not total, privacy. The separate toilet room does have a door.

I’ve stayed at The Ainscow a few times now and will be doing more so in the future. Staff are really helpful. Especially Ethan ( night manager) who goes out of his way to help every guest. Always cheerful. Good clean rooms and excellent for location. Very near to town centre and train/ bus stations. Would definitely recommend to anyone for a great stay .

Staff were virtually none existent. Had to wait a while to check in and out but it was fine as we were only there one night. Bathroom situation was not clear in photos, no privacy in shower but again it was fine as only one night but this should be clearer in photos as it could have led to an embarrassing situation if you’re not 100% comfortable basically showering in front of the person you’re sharing with.

We spent the night here last night. The room we stayed in for our anniversary was the deluxe suite and we were genuinely surprised. Very specious, very clean and a lovely place to stay overall.
We had a beautiful swan made from towels on our bed upon arrival for our anniversary and a small selection of chocolates.
Both reception staff we spoke to were helpful. Breakfast, we got in with our stay, wasn’t the best (undercooked hash browns and sausages) but the cold section looked yummy. Overall stay was great, just probably would skip the breakfast option next time.

noise from near room started 9 pm, we complained.
it started again 2 am, I had to go to reception this time and get a staff member to go with me to room and speak to guests. she said they just arrived 1:30 am, but they were talking loudly, putting loud music on.

when I spoke to guest asking kindly to be quiet and respect other people, the staff member said they just arrived, I should not speak to them like that

long story, below average, noisy rooms, random guests with no respect to environment and incompetent staff

The hotel is a unique building so most rooms will be different shapes and sizes and it's a bit like a labyrinth trying to find your way around! Our room was spacious with a large bathroom. Location is great, very easy access to Manchester city centre and with parking on site. Great for a short stay. Breakfast was ok, the buffet was regularly refreshed but the hotel doesn't serve pork products and there aren't any a la carte options. We would definitely stay again if going to a concert or other event in the city centre.

Overall the hotel was ok. Little noisy, could here the blinds being closed in next room, thankfully they did not put the tv on.
The corridor carpets are ruined, but I guess thats down to inconsiderate guests. The room was mostly clean quite a lot of dust about, mold on bath tiles and green gunge in the bottom of the shower panel. This was once a very nice hotel
Breakfast - This is the UK, where was the bacon? The turkey rashers were rank. This woke act alone would prevent me stayng here again
The reception staff and the two ladies at breakfast were great. Need to have a word with your cleaner. I pulled the shower panel strip off into the bath hoping she gets the hint for the next occupants.

Room was pretty cosy but very warm. Ground floor so window wouldn't open at all. Would hate to stay here in summer! Bed and pillows were quite soft and squishy too which wasn't ideal.
Also the bath was very high so took a bit of climbing to get in when you're 5'2...
Service was good though - it was sufficient for one night.

All 3 radiators in the room were broken, window wouldn't shut properly so lead to a noisey & cold stay. Also with it being ground floor anyone could open the window from outside proving it a safety risk.
Made reception aware of issues and was told that they would look into moving our room. Half hour later was told that the other room also had no working radiators. This meant a cold sleepless night.
The room had stained carpets, broken picture frames and a damaged bathroom floor.
The spare pillows weren't clean also.
For the price I paid I would expect atleast a clean room and working radiators.
After reaching out to the hotel for a refund as there were no management on site over the weekend I have been ignored.

The room is very spacious but I found the electrical appliance poor in maintenance, like there’s a burning smell of the hairdryer and the iron is definitely so burnt but was not replaced. Also, there’s dust in the cups. I would say the hotel is very clean but I think more maintenance would be needed. Also, the laundry location is very far which makes laundry by self a bit inconvenient. But it’s still a nice place to stay.

I had a comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious, and the staff were very friendly and supportive. It happened to be a particularly warm day, and while a table fan was provided, it wasn’t very effective in the heat — a tower fan would have been more useful. Convenient location but basic facilities

The hotel is ideally situated in walking distance of the Arndale shopping centre, Opera House and Deansgate as well as being next to Salford train station. The car park the hotel provides is cheaper than the cost of other hotel parking when I was searching for accommodation.
The hotel itself is nice enough but the carpet through the corridors is worn and threadbare in places which just brings down the general look of the place. When we arrived we had to wait for about 15 minutes for someone to check us in as the desk was empty and there was no bell or buzzer to let anyone know we were there. Not the end of the world but after a long drive and a few wrong turns, you just want to get up to the room!
The room itself was clean but very basic. Furniture tired-looking, no fridge, only one towel left out even though it is a twin room, kettle in the wardrobe nowhere near a plug, plug socket behind the desk so you have to pull it out to get to it. Only little things but for over £150 a night, I expected better facilities.
People with accessibility issues need to be careful when considering this hotel as well as the bath in our room was quite high to step into and not very easy to step back out of. We’re not very tall and my mom has bad knees and we both struggled with it.
The hotel did the job but just think little touches could be better for the cost of the rooms.

The hotel was really nice was very clean staff very nice only 1 small issue was the extractor fan in bathroom wasnt working the breakfast every day so absolutely delicious fresh hot both English and continental will definitely come back again the cost of the stay was really good value the other slight oversite was didnt know still the cost for the carpark wasn't including in the cost of the stay for the hotel but still as a whole cost was still good would recommend it here there is local buses here but it was just as easy to walk 20 mins into Manchester city centre

5 night stay

Stayed for 5 nights while my son was on a residential summer course locally. Hotel is well located a short walk into the centre of manchester. The room I was allocated was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom was fairly new.

Staff were great, very welcoming and responded quickly to requests.

My room didnt have aircon which probably is rarely needed with the local climate, I just happened to be there the hottest week of the year !

Internet was strong and I worked at the hotel during the day, video calls etc, with no issues whatsoever.


Car park is run by an outside contractor, Ringo, which has a good app but you need to be careful when selecting the date you want the parking to start on the app. 15 a night isnt cheap but the carpark was secure and right next to the hotel so peace of mind. All in all, I’d stay again.

The room was relatively clean but unfortunately there were 1 or 2 issues there was a discarded tissue by the desk covered in red lipstick and crumpled rubbish too, also a black curly hair on the tiles in the wc
The blind was defective and wouldn’t close so not very private
The tv wouldn’t turn off either via the remote


Internet was excellent & the location and price was excellent
The car park was handy and had plenty of spaces
The breakfast was basic and I am afraid not very tasty but the staff worked hard with what they had

I booked a double room, very spacious, but the bed was small compared to the rest of the room. The room had an inside balcony, which is a very nice touch.
Sainsbury's was 4 mins walk away and a bus stop was nearby too. Convenient.

Disappointing Stay – Would Not Recommend

This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays I’ve ever had. The bathroom had no door, which is incredibly awkward and far from private. The room was unbearably hot, with no air conditioning or even proper ventilation. The bed was tiny for couple—I’ve never seen such a small bed in any hotel before, and it was definitely not made for a good night’s sleep.

To make things worse, the carpet was dirty, and it bunched up at the toilet entrance, making it difficult to even open the toilet door. Overall, I would not stay here again.

The carpets were very badly stained, desperately need replacing or at least a very good industrial clean. Booked a double room for myself and my teenage daughter as there were no twins available at the time, wasn't a problem we don't mind sharing. But no door on the bathroom was a bit too far for a self conscious teen... don't assume it's always going to be couples in a double, and even then sometimes a bit a privacy is wanted...a nice industrial looking door on runners would look 👌

Not sure is worth the money

Is a nice refurbished building and good location if you have business near by.
However for the price I paid there are other properties in central Manchester with Aircon and continental breakfast included.
The bed was way to soft. Horrible mattress. Don't think I will come back

Great place and suited all our needs. Transport was ok, but we walked to it quite easily from the free bus #1 when needed. Our room was clean and tidy, bed was comfortable. The room was very warm and had to use a fan we found in the cupboard. The coffee machine in the foyer was really good.
Overall we would easily come here again.
